- nahuelda (6/5): Eh . I’d do it again as a quick get away . I wouldn’t invest in an upgraded stay . - It was spacious - I loved the trolley service around the resort . I got a rooftop room with a a jacuzzi that took 4 hours to fill up . I had to call maintenance to come fix it twice . Also there are no latches on the door (I put a chair up against the door )

- Althem (10/5): - The owner/ manager was extremely helpful.
- Ilias (8/5): - Vriendelijke gastvrouw.
- Aleksey (8/5): - This is an Ab&B
- Raul (10/5): - We stayed only for one night , and it was welcoming!
- Olena (4/5): Our stay in " Maison Bleue" - The owner was polite and the place was clean. However, they did not honor the price listed in our reservation, and we ended up paying significantly more than what was shown on the booking page. Our advice: make sure to pay online in advance, not just reserve, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Excelente servicio. Más que recomendado!
- Marco Edmundo (8/5): - Nice and clean. But hot and a/c wasn’t enough to keep the room cold, you have to share bathroom with other people, but overall was good! Oh, by ythe way, I had to pay $20 dlls extra because we got there after 2 am
- Alfonso (2/5): - Nothing didnt stay lady kind of rude no tv too many rules share barhrooms very very far from city no people or stores nearby simple do not rent this proparty paid without using terrible experience make a quick reservation somewhere in the city
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reginal (9/5): A very nice, comfortable b&b. Yolanda is very nice and accommodating. - Yolanda was very accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable with a/c. She accommodated our travel needs to the airport. We expected to stay in more of a traditional hotel. Once we realized we were in the right neighborhood, and that it was more of a bed & breakfast, we were very satisfied.
- Monica (10/5): Exceptional - Host was great! House was clean and nice. The location was a bit confusing to get to even for our shuttle taxi but host provided pictures and the address that made it simple
- Pantoja (9/5): Superb -
- j ashley (10/5): Bed & Breakfast Vibes - Very nice small hotel with B&B vibes. Very nice and helpful owner onsite.
- Amber (10/5): - Great value, beds were comfy, very clean, and Yolanda was a great host! She was very gracious with my young kids in her house.
- Ngoc (6/5): A restrictive stay with several drawbacks -
This property offers clean accommodations, but several challenges detract from the experience, making it less ideal for most travelers.
Difficulties with Check-In
The check-in process is unnecessarily complicated. The property, referred to as “The Blue House,” is misleadingly painted a yellowish color, making it hard to locate. Additionally, the address provided on the map is incorrect, and without contacting the owner, it’s nearly impossible to find the place. The owner frequently emails to ask for the exact arrival time, which can be inconvenient for tourists who may lack internet access while traveling.
Accommodation Details
The property is a private house with three rooms: one occupied by the owner and two rented out. Guests must share a single toilet at the end of the hallway—a fact that isn’t clearly stated on booking platforms. While the rooms themselves are clean, with functional air conditioning and a decent balcony, the overall experience feels restrictive.
The house has a kitchen and a pool, but access is strictly controlled. Guests must request the owner’s permission to use these amenities or even to enter and exit the property, as the gate is locked and can only be opened by the owner. This lack of freedom can make the stay feel uncomfortable and, at times, frustrating.
Unexpected Fees
A hidden cost adds to the negative experience. The owner charges an additi
- Jackie (9/5): Superb - The hosts were absolutely amazing. They made us feel welcome during a stressful situation. They were so helpful and accommodating.
- Mathew (4/5): Wasnt so great. - It had some space outside with pool side where you can sit and enjoy some open air Not worth for the money. Very deserted area and no shops near by. Need a vehicle to go out and has to depend on the owner for everything. Very less ventilation and the air flow in the room was less. Bathrooms were sharing too.
- Geoffrey (5/5): READ MANY REVIEWS BEFORE DECIDING. - Price It’s not what you think. Read all the reviews and then decide. We had a car so getting to airport was easy. For others sounds like a hassle. Towel was fully frayed along the edges.
- Chileleko (9/5): Short and comfortable stay - I like how clean the property was. It was a lovely home and the host was so lovely and welcoming. The accommodation had free WiFi and hot water. The location was perfect for me as it was a short drive to and from the airport. Definitely a good value for money property.
- Enrique (4/5): - No coments
- Liebkind (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming and friendly
- paola (8/5): - Hello everyone we got stuck a few extra days in Cancun . We found this hidden gem ! We had a large room with 2 full size beds and a twin bed . Large closet space and a balcony. The room included a large TV and WiFi . We shared a hallway bathroom which was actually not in inconvenient at all . The lady onsite is super clean and stays on top of it . We got to enjoy the pool and backyard grill area. Would love to have had a fridge too keep snacks and drinks . We will definitely be using this place in the future.
- Miroslava (8/5): - Everything was great, but I picked this property because of the fact that it has a AC, Unfortunately, it was not working well at all, and it was super hot in the room all night. But didn’t know that it was a great place really good food.
- Kerryann (8/5): Very good -
- Emmaculate (10/5): Exceptional -
- LILIA DEL CARMEN REZA (10/5): - Cercana al aeropuerto
- Anonymous (2/5): Dangerous area, greedy host. - This is not a hotel, but a room with shared bathroom in someone's house. The owner repeatedly insisted that we take her "taxi service" to the airport, which was more than twice of what uber charged us. When nothing worked, she told us that we have to hurry up with the booking lest the guests in the other room book "the taxi service". In reality, we were the only guests in the house! Don't fall for her tricks, just walk to the main road, and you will be able to get plenty of Ubers any time of the night/day.
The linen was dirty, and the towels were torn - they literally had huge holes in them.
The neighborhood felt extremely unsafe. We learned later that this is one of the most dangerous drug/crime-infested parts of cancun.
Ceiling fan creaked all night.
She really couldn't care less!
- Jill (4/5): Hostess was charming but facilities poor for the money - Expensive poor location very cold pool tired flooring and because of sharing with family disturbed by talking in the night
- Parvaneh (1/5): I feel scammed!!! - Be aware!!!! This is an absolute rip-off!!!
It’s a room in a lady’s house with a shared bathroom! Nothing is private here! The owner Yolanda lives in the house and she rents out several rooms in the house! She is extremely rude and not welcoming at all! She is aggressive , disrespectful and just an absolute scam! On top of the final price announced here on booking.com she adds a 16% tax and 5% if you pay with credit card. She charges you in mxn and her exchange rate is the highest I’ve seen in my 12 day trip in Mexico. We booked this place because we thought it’s close to the airport which it is but in the middle of nowhere in a very scetchy area where taxis don’t want to come and the owner takes advantage of that! She offers you to drive you to the airport which is 10 min from her house for $40 US dollar and she wants you to pay it up front! Overall it’s an absolute rip off! The house is loud, the doors , stairs and everything makes noice. The towels have holes in them, the bed is hard like a rock! It’s an absolute rip off! Don’t book it. It’s all a false advertisement in her listing! Don’t book and safe yourself the disappointment and wasted money. Book a cheap hotel and you are better off!
- Lydia (3/5): Not what I expected - The location, no place to eat, had to order out food.
- Nikhil (5/5): Passable - The way she contacted and received us. Just the pool is the same as in pictures whereas the room was not. Looks like she has posted old pictures in here. It wasn’t the same. The location was remote and kinda scary at nights.
- Vallejo (1/5): Bad -
- Gordon (9/5): comfortable and owner was very personable - breakfast was good. location was reasonably close to airport. owner drove us back to airport next day, excellent service. nothing
- Tasha (2/5): Will not return - The room was decent size This was a total disappointment , we thought we booked a traditional hotel room not a single room in someone’s home . There are no restaurants close by and we felt as if we were in lockdown ! The neighborhood was scary and I didn’t sleep a wink . Beds were horrible!!! And having to share a bathroom with strangers was so unappealing . I could hear noise and people walking all night . The host offered transportation to the airport for a price but I opted to do Uber , the host seemed upset when she realized I wasn’t going to use her to transport . Uber cost 10 bucks when she was charging 30 dollars . Overall will never ever stay in this place again
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Very Clean and a super friendly Host. Made nice breakfast and brought me to the Airport for a fair rate Nothing
- Esmeralda (4/5): Very uncomfortable sleep in those beds. - The pool was very clean and nice, the house itself was also clean The room had very poor quality beds, very thin and uncomfortable. We have to share a bathroom with other guest and you only get one towel per stay not day.
- Wen (4/5): Disappointing -
- Keith (4/5): Disappointing rip off - The pool looked nice but we didn't use it. I'll be the first to take some responsibility here for not thoroughly reading the property description and trusting the review score but as homestays go, we found this to be one of our most uncomfortable experiences.
The room was not cleaned to our expectations with stains and dust throughout. Bedding was not provided as there were only sheets and no duvet covers for the blankets. The neighborhood felt unsafe this was confirmed later by our taxi driver who stated that many taxis will not enter the neighborhood due to drug dealers. We booked this property thinking it would be convenient because it was close to the airport and said it included an airport shuttle, but when we arrived the host told us the shuttle was not included and charged us an additions $30 USD for the taxi. This is three time the rate of a taxi. This property was already $84 USD for a homestay and shared bathroom, in our opinion at that price point the shuttle should have definitely been included. We have been to Mexico dozens of time and have stayed in many locations, so we are very familiar with the country, costs and value. This place is many worth $20 USD per night.
We did not feel comfortable in the home as the host's room was right across the hall from our room and we had no sense of privacy. The host stated that there were no restaurants nearby and that we would have to order food from her if we wanted anything. We knew right away that she was just trying to get more money out of us, which contributed to our feeling of discomfort.
Save your time and money, look elsewhere.
- Anamaria (9/5): Superb - Excellent service and quality, helpful and supporting.
- Megs (9/5): Yolanda's house is a perfect place for a stay close to the airport. - I think any poor reviews of this property have to do with mismatched expectations. We knew we were staying in a rented room in Yolanda's home and our experience was fabulous. We arrived late at night and the taxi did not know where her home was. Yolanda was up and texting with me and spoke to the driver to give directions. She then met us at the door with a smile and cold bottled water which was very much appreciated. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had a great sleep. We briefly saw the other couple staying there, but never heard a peep. In the morning, before we headed to our next destination, Yolanda cooked us a basic breakfast with fabulous coffee. (We had arranged this the night before for a pre determined cost). Our three kids swam in the pool before and after breakfast and we enjoyed the garden.
Overall the property is clean, quiet and perfect for a stay close to the airport. Yolanda is lovely and helpful and it was a pleasure to share her home. The only small complaint was the air conditioning in the room was too loud for me to sleep with, although the other four in my family were not bothered. I had to turn it off which was absolutely fine temperature wise overnight.
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nuri (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing - located at very creepy location. didn’t feel very safe.
- Ann (2/5): Very poor - . The home was lovely, as were the pool, and garden. We were able t o use the house refrigerator The booking website mentions that this place was close to the airport and that there was an airport shuttle. In fact it was a 20 plus minute taxi ride at a cost of almost $50 one way and since there was no sign out front, it was very hard to find la Maison bleue, especially since it's painted bright yellow. We were not given a key to exit the building, which was nerve-wracking for the first few minutes. The beds were not comfortable, no toiletries provided and only one towel, until we asked. The place is located in a mostly industrial neighborhood absolutely no eateries im walking distance. Moreover when we paid by credit card there was a surcharge so we ended up paying 20% more than the booking website stated. Not a place we would ever return to.
- Scott (4/5): Mis-advertised room for rent as hotel and poor value - The property is just north of the airport so it served our purpose as an overnight stay close to the airport. Also the shared space and backyard with small pool was very nice. I am not asking for a refund, however I have to point out we thought we were renting a typical hotel room. it turned out to be a single room with a SHARED bathroom. the owner lives in the room across the hall. For the price, this was a poor value. The beds were comfortable. the room was clean. Balcony had no chairs. The shades only covered 2/3 of the windows. To pay for the room by credit card, the owner added 5% to the total bill. we paid $86.28 instead of $75.12 as quoted on Booking.com. Part of the difference is the exchange rate our hostess used. My last issue is to enter and exit the home, the hostess had to be found so she could unlock the gate. there was no freedom of movement and overall the stay was very awkward. Not recommended. I hope the host makes it more clear in her advertisement that it’s a room for rent with a shared bathroom.
- Hayley (1/5): Bad area and hotel would not cancel my reservation for me. - GPS took us to some ghetto and we didn't even get out of the car. GPS took us to some ghetto and we didn't even get out of the car.
- Javier (9/5): Superb -
- Nick (8/5): Friendly owner, clean/nice room - Clean, confortable room Accommodation is in the private home of the owner
- Katherine (4/5): Disappointing - Close to the airport - ~20 minute drive. Room was large and breakfast was available if requested. Issues with payments at the property - host charged additional unexplained taxes and used an inflated exchange rate for payment when there (so expect to pay more than what is stated in booking.com). Also offered an inflated cost to arrange a taxi to the airport for us so suggest making your own arrangements. Didn't have clear instructions on how to check in (you need to call the host) but this was not clear beforehand.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (6/5): it was okay. - the beds were comfortable the bathroom did not have a lid, how could you seat to use the bathroom?; there were no screens on the windows and doors so there were many many mosquitoes, the downstairs fan and tv didn’t work.
- Abel (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (10/5): We had a very comfortable and enjoyable overnight stay. We plan to return on our way home in April. -
- Fabian (2/5): No drinking water nor towels provided upon arrival, bad mattresses, $15 surcharge for opening the door after midnight -
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leticia (1/5): Terrible experience. - Everything.
