Guest Reviews
- Steffi (10/5): Super super super 👍.
- Augustinus (10/5): Heerlijk, gastvrij, voelde me zeer welkom - De gastvrouw en heer waren zeer attent, het personeel uiterst vriendelijk. Behulpzaam in alles. Een groots ontbijt bovendien! Wat een fijne plek met zelfs een geheime tuin. Kan niets bedenken
- Elena (10/5): - We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Agra, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with genuine warmth and kindness, making us feel at home right away.
One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible homemade food. Both dinner and breakfast were freshly prepared and absolutely delicious — truly some of the best meals we had during our time in India. The care and love put into the cooking made the experience even more special.
Our host also went above and beyond to help us make the most of our visit to the Taj Mahal. He gave us excellent advice on timing and planning, arranged a tuk-tuk for us to and from the monument, and recommended trustworthy shops where we could find authentic handcrafted souvenirs. To make our journey even easier, he organized a very comfortable car for our ride back to Delhi, which made our onward travel completely stress-free.
The room and bed were spotless and very comfortable — the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of.
We truly couldn’t be more grateful for our stay. It felt less like accommodation and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. We are very happy to recommend this place to anyone visiting Agra — you will be in the best hands!
- Lidia (10/5): - Bardzo ładny pokój. Przestronny i ładnie urządzony. Wyjątkowo mili i serdeczni Gospodarze. Polecam
- Andrej (10/5): - Everything. Ownwes was very kind and they arange us reservation for train tickets to Varanasi. We are very happy that we chose this hotel.
- Angela (10/5): Warm and comfortable welcome close to Taj Mahal - Beautiful, large room and modern bathroom, comfortable big bed, copious, delicious breakfast with real pressed orange juice, warmly welcomed by knowledgeable, friendly and helpful hosts and staff, quiet central location, close to Taj Mahal. Highly commendable. It was excellent
- Kathrin (9/5): - Close to the Taj Mahal and some restaurants
- Alexander (10/5): Australian that felt comfortable, clean and welcomed. - Australian travellers and felt at home with lovely owners. Was in a convenient space but just off the main roads and hussle and bustle which was welcomed to get away from the noise and hectic streets.
- Christine (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Great location; terrific, home-cooked breakfast; a very large, spotless room; and helpful staff. - We were underprepared for sightseeing in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri, but our host at Bansi Home Stay quickly sorted us out and provided invaluable advice and help, without which our stay in Agra would have been a series of missteps and lost opportunities.
- Yohann (10/5): Much recommended - Located within walking distance from the Taj Mahal. Excellent homemade breakfast, including fresh orange juice. Very pleasant hosts. We were granted a late check in and a late check out, which was very flexible and helpful. Big room and well-equipped bathroom. Very clean.
- Ralf (10/5): Most comfortable home stay in India - Bansi Home Stay was the most comfortable home stay accommodation during our six-week trip to India. It's located on a quiet side street, about a 20-minute walk from the Taj Mahal. There was a fantastic, hot shower with plenty of water, lots of closet space, and everything worked perfectly, which isn't always the case in India. The room was very spacious and modernly furnished. The private breakfast served in the living area was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, offering many great suggestions.
- Engelie (9/5): A very comfortable homestay - It’s not luxurious, no bling bling hotel, but a very convenient and really nice comfortable homestay.
Good beds, very good shower, large rooms, good breakfast, very friendly staff, informal conversations around the table with the owner who has a lot of knowledge (former tourism director) about the region, interesting background information.
Quite location. Nothing
- Louisesqueezy (10/5): - We had a very welcoming and helpful host who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of including helping us navigate the attractions. The local food delicacies were made specially for us and it was made with love and kindness, plus it was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for the Taj Mahal. The ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri is a must see. There is a wonderful restaurant around the corner from hotel. Catch the metro to the old city. Rooms super clean and large, shower good, beds comfortable. A great stay
- Paul (9/5): Great place and exceptional value for money. We stayed only one night. Breakfast really good. Owner and staff top banana - Good location. Quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable.
- Raul (10/5): Incredible homestay experience in Agra - Absolutely the best room in Agra! I stayed at Bansi Home Stay and had an incredible experience. The room was Super BIG, cozy and clean, and the breakfast was SPECTACULAR! The hosts were super friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for exploring the city.
Bathroom was amazing too, shower was the best.
The reception team was very receptive and helped organize everything for us. But what really made our stay stand out was the warmth and kindness of the people. They truly made us feel at home.
We would return without hesitation - in fact, we're already planning our next trip! If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in Agra, look no further than Bansi Home Stay. Highly recommended! Nothing
- Xuefeng (9/5): Superb - Everything was good except a few mosquitoes annoyed me in the first 2 nights; then staff solved it with a proper mosquito repeller.
- Ebru (10/5): Perfect and delicious - Location good, the facility clean.
We would like to thank especially UDHAM SINGH for kindness & helpness.
The breakfast was best of best, very delicious, fresh, traditional and limitless.
- Dan (10/5): Bansi Homestay is the best place to stay in Agra. - The breakfast was great. The location was also great with a variety of restaurants, shops, pubs, transportation and banking needs nearby. The property itself is immaculate and charming. But what makes Bansi Homestay great are the wonderful and helpful owners. All my sightseeing needs were managed by them with honest tuk tuk drivers and car services. Staying at the Bansi Homestay is the best decision to make when visiting Agra. N/A
- Wojciech (10/5): The three days I spent in Agra were some of the best I have ever spent in India. - Finally I decided to see Taj Mahal. My twelfth trip to India but first visit to Agra. Staying at Bamsi Home Stay was an unforgettable experience. Very nice and clean rooms, delicious breakfasts. The hosts were caring almost like parents. Ultimately the three days spent in Agra were some of the best I have ever spent in India.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Everything from home made biscuits on arrival with Chai breakfast with over guests and the owners were all first class, loverly people. Nothing.
- Kenise (9/5): Lovely home stay with friendly staff -
- Natalia (10/5): beautiful and homy - Amazing, delicious homestay, run by Burman and his wife, also dear Udham who works with them and runs the kitchen (and anything you need), super nice bedroom and bathroom, thry have a cozy terrace also! they will do everything to help you (book risckshaw, taxi to another city, advices for visiting agra, etc), 10000% reccomend! NOTHING
- Geetha (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was great! Lots of variety and all home made.
- Tobias (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Burman, the owner and his charming wife Karen, run a lovely operation. He's ex-India tourist department and still very well connected.
So when we asked for a guide and a tuk tuk for half a day he got us one of the best guides in the city (in IMHO 😉).
The house is classy and intimate, like a boutique hotel. You eat breakfast with the other guests and a good opportunity to swap experiences.
There's a very pretty secluded roof terrace if you opt for a room in the second floor.
No hesitation in rating this a 5* Can't think of anything
- Fabio (9/5): Superb -
- Claire (10/5): Very friendly family guesthouse. - The warm welcome by the owner and his staff.
The amazing breakfast, after the sunrise Taj Mahal visit, of pooris with spicy potatoes (owner’s mother’s recipe features in Madhur Jaffrey’s book) and fresh orange juice. And before we left for the overnight train the delicious lunch. Nice garden terraces for guests too.
- Claudia (8/5): Good stay close to Taj - - Very good location, only 15 min walking to West Gate of Taj Mahal
- Friendly and helpful host and team
- good breakfast
- very good shower, strong pressure and hot water
- small heater in the room - poorly soundproof
- Salteñaenelmundo (10/5): Very nice home stay - The breakfast is really good. The room was big and comfortable. The receptionist and the owner of the accommodation were very helpful and kind. Nothing.
- Prabakar (8/5): Friendly homestay - The homestay is just another home away from your home. The owner Mr Burman is a very nice gentleman who takes care of guests like his own children. The housekeeping staff are very friendly and caring. They will try their best to keep you comfortable. The breakfast was simple, homely and excellent. Nothing to complain
- Andrés (10/5): Exceptional - Host was lovely and informative.
Very close to everything including Taj Mahal.
Quiet area and delicious breakfast. Bed could have been softer, but everything else was GREAT.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful room - great location- lovely people - amazing breakfast it was all perfect
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable place with very helpful hosts; who were happy to organise anything I might need. Maybe a little out of the way. However, I feel this is due to Agra being hard to navigate on foot.
- Ceri (10/5): Exceptional - Central location. Clean room. Superb service and breakfast with the most incredible hosts who couldn’t be more helpful and friendly if hey tried. We truly felt like family by the end of our stay.
- Lisa (9/5): Friendly, comfortable homestay - It is a homestay rather than a hotel (and we have rated it on that basis) - which as a family of four we really liked. My children scored it 10/10 for friendliness. The hosts and staff are very calm and helpful - our rooms were very clean and big and we had use of a small garden terrace. We messed up our train booking to Delhi and the owners swiftly helped us make alternative arrangements which was very appreciated. Their food recommendation was also fab - dosai, mocktails and ice cream sundaes a few mins walk away. It is on a nice quiet street with the Taj Mahal about 1km away. There is also a Pizza Hut at the end of the road which the children loved. Water is provided in small plastic bottles.
- Marion (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay at Bansi Home!
Thanks for everything!
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional - A calm oasis in Agra. Mr and Mrs Burnam are very hospitable hosts and the staff are also great. Rooms are huge, modern and very clean. The breakfast is exceptional.
- Stephen (10/5): Super place to stay - Friendly host - was happy to chat and make reservations/offer recommendations
Great breakfast
Good sized clean room
Air conditioning
Good location - close to main attractions but quiet as away from the main road Nothing
- Matt017 (10/5): Bansi Homestay - exceptional place to stay in Agra - Bansi Homestay was an amazing experience. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the facilities were super clean and maintained well. The breakfast was stunning, some of the best food in India. I would easily recommend this to any solo traveller or couples. So easy. A great stay in Agra for a few nights.
- Andrew (9/5): Probably the best homestay I have had in 4 weeks in India. - The booking.com rating is worthwhile. Room, wifi, breakfast English language all very good. Had a shirt and pants cleaned there. Seems they sent them to a laundry and they came back wet. They tried to dry them with a hairdryer then an iron and in the end burnt the material with the iron. Not happy but as a one off I won't mark them down on the rest of the accomodation.
- Jetty (9/5): Superb - The owner of the homestay and the other staff were friendly and made our stay comfortable. They even helped us with arranging our trainticket.
- Ann (10/5): Warm and homely stay in Agra - Mr Burman has a very nice personality and is extremely helpful. He helped us book our train tickets and organized a tour with tuktuk driver. My son and I really loved staying at his home. We had a very spacious and comfortable room. The staff is very nice. This is the place to stay when you are in Agra!
- Tim (9/5): Superb - The host was really friendly and helpful. Don’t mind to ask him for some help or tips. He is glad to helping you out for sure!
- Lacape (10/5): Exceptional - We loved to stay at this family place. You feel at home.
Owners are really kind and helpful
I recommend 100%
- S (8/5): Very good - The owners were very accommodating and friendly No real communal area
- Danielle (10/5): Bansi home stay should be on your list of places to stay in Agra. The rooms and home were really high standard. The food -
- Rosemary (10/5): Most welcoming and enjoyable accomodation of our stay in India - An absolute gem of a place - I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough to anyone staying in Agra. Firstly it’s super clean, one of two cleanest places I stayed in India in 5 weeks. Secondly Its location in a very quiet area for a good night’s sleep. You can walk or it’s a short tuk tuk ride to Taj Mahal and take tuk tuk to Agra Fort. If you wish the host can arrange an electric tuk tuk with a very safe driver. The guesthouse staff are welcoming no matter what time you arrive, flexible with requests and serve an excellent breakfast - eggs done anyway you like, freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious aloo parathas. The location is also very close to a very good authentic restaurant (recommended by the host), shops, an ATM (and liquor shop if you need it). Wifi is excellent.
The host is the heart of this guesthouse. He is a lovely man and highly knowledgeable with professional background in tourism who responds very quickly to queries. He went out of his way to help us arrange transport within and out of Agra and accomodation (wonderful) at our next destination. Absolutely no hard sell of anything here. We loved being there so much we extended our stay. There is nothing to dislike.
- Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - The homestay is located at the end of a small and quiet street yet all attractions are just a short tuk tuk ride away.
There are also plenty of Shops and Restaurants within walking distance.
If you dont want to walk, there are plenty of tuk tuks waiting at Subrata Road, 1 minute away from the homestay.
The rooms are equipped to a high standard, spacious and the house itself is beautiful with a wonderful, green terrace on the second floor and areas to sit and relax.
The Breakfast is freshly prepared and contains indian breakfast but also eggs in all variations as well as toast and jam.
What made our stay special was the hospitality and care of the host Mr. Burman.
He arranged tours for us, gave us general tips about India and even helped us get Indian SIM cards. Thank you again!
If we ever come back to Agra we would love to stay at Bansi Home Stay again. Nothing, we really enjoyed staying at Bansi Home Stay.
- Tony (9/5): Warm and wonderful home stay, book here!!! - The family and staff were wonderful, owner mister Burman helpt us out with lots of things before hand, like: traintickets, taxi’s and safari’s even it’s not in his town. Amazing service!!! Not much not to like, the home stay is very welcoming
- Jackie (9/5): Lovely stay at Bansi - Comfortable bed, great bathroom, space to sit outside. Fabulous home cooked breakfast. Nothing
- Darren (10/5): A lovely gem in great location. - What a gem ! Lovely exceptionally clean homestay in a great location , 7 minute drive to Taj gate or 20 minute walk. Everything you need or have been craving is within a few minutes walk. Restaurants, Icecream, bakeries, coffee and yet it is down a lovely quiet residential street. The rooms are spacious and super clean and breakfast of freshly squeezed ojuice with best homemade paratha we've had in India. More like a lovely hotel . Cant recommend highly enough. Nothing negative to say.
- Savita (9/5): cosy home comforts - spacious triple room, amazingly helpful owner, very homely and comfortable. all was great
- Merlin (9/5): The host was very kind and helped arrange our trips - Comfortable and relaxed Nothing
- Denis (10/5): A wonderful guest house exuding warmth and serenity. - We appreciated the warm welcome we received. A special thanks to Chouko for his delicious varied breakfasts which he made specially for us. Calm and comfortable room and a relaxing atmosphere in this beautiful little guest house away from the busy main road but easily accessible to the Taj Mahal and to the best restaurants.
- Humberg (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best accommodations in India. Everything was very clean, the beds are comfortable and the best was Mr. Burman himself. Not only did he organize our next stop, but we also enjoyed a breakfast together and shared some life stories. Totally recommend this place to others.
- Albertas (10/5): Great stay - Almost everything.
The host was very kind and helpful.
Super clean room.
Homemade brrakfast. Maybe nothing.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - The staff and owner are lovely and caring. Rooms are large.
They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy and comfortable. The stay was great. Nothing to add.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We couldn't have had a better stay here, everything was absolutely perfect, Mr Burman and his colleagues were so welcoming and helpful and made us feel so at home. Definitely stay here, it made our trip to Agra so special Everything was perfect
- David (10/5): Incredible Stay & an Above-and-Beyond Host - Our host D.K. and his staff went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience in Agra. He’s well connected and gave great recommendations. The room was as advertised - spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. On our 14-day trip in India, this was our favorite stay. We arrived late due to a train delay and our host was very communicative in making sure we arrived okay. There isn’t a single thing that we didn’t like.
- Susanne (9/5): We had a wonderful stay! - Our host was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean. They provided a space heater since it was very cold. The breakfast was very delicious and plenty! The location was excellent as well!
- Bharat (10/5): Great! The host is very helpful and loving - Location and Breakfast
- Fredi (10/5): Exceptional - The landlord was very friendly and helpful. One really feels that he and his stuff take care of his guests. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was very delicious.
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable - Pillows were hard, shower rose leaked water, towel’s were old( they were clean)
- Fiona (10/5): A fabulous place to stay in Agra - thoroughly recommended. - A wonderful homestay with a lovely host and staff. The property is of great quality, on a quiet cul de sac off one of the main roads and our room was large and extremely clean. We received a lovely welcome and our host was extremely helpful and arranged tuk tuks and taxis for us as well as helping us with general advice. Nothing.
- Graham (10/5): You can book this Homestay with total confidence. You'll receive a warm welcome & 1st class service - Everything about Bansi Home Stay is simply perfect. The host and his staff couldn't have done any more to make our stay a total pleasure. From arranging tours, guides and drivers, to cooking great food, nothing was too much trouble. We can't speak highly enough about this exceptional Homestay. Nothing
- Soumya (9/5): We had a fantastic time in Agra. Mr Burman and his team were so hospitable and made us feel at home. The place was spotl -
- Manvendra (9/5): A homely place with great service - Mr. Burman is a generous and kind hearted host. We were able to checkin early and also got delicious lunch, which was not part of the booking. They accommodated our request for dinner for our son. Overall we had a memorable stay.
- Irpinder (10/5): A wonderful stay in a delightful home filled with knowledge and care - It was a delightful stay, an amazing mix of formal and informal. All the facilities, the room size, appointments, fixtures, furniture - all met all the formal standards of a very good hotel and yet the atmosphere was very relaxed and personalized. The host Shri Burman, a worldly-wise man of great knowledge, was forever willing to share all he knew and advise on my plans. It was a privilege to be hosted in his homestay. Would return with family. All Good.
- Petra (9/5): i recommend this place - mr.Burman and his stuff (tuck-tuck driver included) were really nice. he helped us to get tickets for train, at a moment a difficult! also to talk with him abaut culture an tradition in india was a very good expiriance.
- Emilie (10/5): Perfect place to stay! - We were warmly welcomed by the owners, and they were very helpful throughout the stay too, providing information, booking tuktuks, and so on. There is a delicious breakfast included. The rooms are big, comfortable, and have all that we need. This place is at the end of a side street so there is not too much noise from the road, and you can get to the sightseeing places, especially Taj Mahal, in a short time.
- John (10/5): Wonderful with great helpful staff. - Great stay and they really helped out getting some medication for an upset stomach. Lovely one of the best places we have stayed. Nothing
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely comfortable room. Mr Burman was a delight to chat with and gave us lots of information about things in Agra, his life and family. The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful.
Do try and stay here if you are visiting Agra - you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you Bansi Home Stay, Mr Burman and all the staff. ☺️ Nothing
- Harry (9/5): A welcoming oasis in a busy city, with a most considerate owner. Definitely somewhere to return to. - Mr Burman - the owner - was most thoughtful, considerate and helpful in every way. He has created a wonderfully welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in a busy city.
Dinner and breakfast were superb examples of home cooking at its best.
- Victoriatinks (10/5): Excellent service! - The owner, Dinesh, is incredibly helpful and goes out of his way to help you in any way you need. We really appreciated his support in booking our travel and finding hotels for the next legs of our trip. Other staff were also very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. No complaints!
- Elizabeth (9/5): Good location for visiting the Taj Mahal. - The location was really close to the Taj Mahal, it was lovely and clean with a personal touch by Mr Burnham and staff. The bathroom was superior to one in a heritage hotel! Lively homemade breakfast.

The staff is really nice and helpful, the owner has helped us plan and book our visits.
The breakfasts are really good, don't miss them.
The room was clean and conform to the pictures.
If I were to return to Agra someday, I would definitely stay there again.
- Dirk (10/5): Perfection, a home away from home. - This is really what a home stay should be: spotlessly clean, marvelous breakfast, quiet location. And it’s perfectly run by a retired professional couple who really go out of their way to make you feel home. Mr. Burman is a perfect source of information and the most efficient person we have ever seen when helping with travel arrangements. Nothing.

- Fallendor (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is located in quiet place. Rooms are clean. Owners and the staff are so pleasant and helpful. Indian home breakfast. Good wi-fi connection.
It's possible to have a dinner nearby (I recommend a bar located on the roof near the main street. You find it easy by a map.) As in other India there is impossible just to go for a walk.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Very warm, friendly family homestay. Mr Burman was extremely helpful with connections, travel arrangements, nothing was too much trouble. Delicious breakfast and some good anecdotes as a bonus, highly recommend

They were very happy to arrange transport and good quality guides as needed.
- Dhanraj (8/5): It met our needs and it was comfortable. - The owner arranged for transport for us. The breakfast was more expensive that anywhere else we have been.
- Alice (8/5): Very good - Room was clean, staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent. Location was in a good area, very quiet. The aircon in the room smelt strongly of petrol
- Ronan (10/5): Exceptional - It was definitely the best place where I stayed in India. The room was very comfortable and the staff was lovely. It is very well located in a calm area (you won’t hear any traffic or klaxons there). The garden on the terrace was also nice. There is a very good restaurant in a hotel nearby (not even 5 minutes walk). I highly recommend to stay there.
- Annette (9/5): Lovely room, great host - Breakfast was great, the host bent over backwards to help, other staff were lovely too. The room was spacious and the bathroom was excellent There was a strong smell of fuel or kerosene on our floor
- Lisa (10/5): Just to feel good - The Bansi Home Stay is a home away from home - Just to feel good
The Bansi Home Stay is not just a place to stay. Located in a quiet side street, equipped with large and clean rooms, with fully functional AC, complemented by a varied breakfast, the Bansi Home Stay convinces with the friendliness and hospitality of the owners and their staff. How I enjoyed listening to Mr Burman's stories, general guidance and recommendations. No question was too much for him. He and his wife did everything to ensure that my stay in Agra and in India in general will always be remembered as a wonderful time and such a valuable experience. For me, the Bansi Home Stay is a home away from home. Lisa from Germany
- Koen (9/5): A warm welcome! - This is a guest house / family stay. The owners are so kind and go out of their way to make you comfortable. We really enjoyed staying here, even if it was very short! Ask them to show you the chess pieces! :-) There was nothing we didn't like. It was a good experience all around.
- Mirko (10/5): RECOMMENDED this place is HOME - One of the best places we had the pleasure to stay in our whole trip in India.
The place is so comfortable and clean, we had a big room with a super shower and a balcony.
The owner and all the staff was so kind and helpful that we felt like at home and we felt sincerely sad to leave when we had to.
They cooked for us great typical indian breakfast that i will hardly forget.
This place was our cozy family in India and we look forward to come back.
- Russell (10/5): I strongly recommend - The location and staff
- Shamik (10/5): Wonderful! - This is a fabulous guest house! The very best in India we've stayed in. The owners are such kind people -- we arrived late at night with hungry children, and they provided us with a full meal right away. Amazing hospitality. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All in all, a perfect place to stay in Agra.
