Guest Reviews
- Marvin (10/5): - The homestay is an absolute oasis of freshness, empathy and nature. The owners and staff are welcoming and super friendly and helpful with all questions and services. Mei did sew a trousers for our daughter that she loves very much. The produce from the farm is great, we loved the Mangos! We did had great group evening dinners with all the guests staying. The homestay did a great job on service and connecting the people. It is a special place that makes you feel welcome at all times. The homestay is hard to find for grab car drivers. The last bridge comming from south is narrow. The homestay did help us with a motorbike transit when arriving. Best way for transport is via motorbike, please be aware of this.

- Guest (10/5): Perfect - The family was amazing. So beautiful and peaceful place . I stayed more then a week. Not far from the city but you feel full in nature

- Lyndsey (10/5): Loved my stay here! - Wonderful and kind host family, always helpful in every way, thank you! Very peaceful, natural surroundings, don't miss the beautiful sunset!! The farm is impressive. Enjoyed every minute, extended my stay!
- Ott (10/5): Exceptional - A paradiese in the middle of Saigon. I could not believe that these Oasis really exist. But it's true. You feel like staying in the Jungle, and can also go to town in a few Minutes. The supersweet owner- Family creates a warm and lovely atmosphere there. I felt very welcome and in "good Hands" there. Thx for these place and those people.
- Tzu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Peaceful, hospitable, rural setting in the middle of hyper urban Saigon! - The food was great. The family and staff were welcoming and we had many hours of conversation. The grounds are peaceful and lush with water, flowers, fruit trees, and vegetable plots. It is in Saigon but a pastoral, rural setting just two kilometers from city life. The quiet! So rare in a Vietnamese city, especially HCMC. My room had a mosquito net and fans but they also have air conditioned rooms. They arranged my onward travel and I learned about the family history. Such wonderful people, I will go back, certainly.
- Adrian (8/5): An out of the way space that is staffed by a beautiful family - This was our first place to stay in Vietnam and the Saigon Farmstay was the right choice. Its a bit of a journey from the airport and its a bit of a mystery for taxi drivers, but An was on hand and on Whatsapp and guided the taxi in. An gave us really explicit directions for how to get the cab from the airport. The best thing about the Saigon Farmstay was the staff. The owner is just lovely and her daughter is a legend and helped us so much more than I would have expected.
The Farmstay is a bit of curveball. Its a bit dilapidated and a bit messy, but its such a unique space that some of the negatives are so far outweighed by the positives.
The rooms are basic, but for the price, excellent value. I could write a list of some of the things I did not like (Beer needs a fridge lol), but the experience is what I was going for and experience is exactly what we got.
If you do come here (and I really recommend you do), you are far from the main drag, the sights and the buste of old Saigon. If you want the beer and chips and to be surrounded by westerners, do not come here. If you want easy access and all your home comforts, do not come here.
If you want to meet beautiful Vietnamese community and enjoy staying in the dusty hot paddy fields surrounded by the sound of crickets and the distant strains of Karaoke - this is the spot for you.
Again, its the vibe, not the comfort and the team here will o anything for you and after travelling around Vietnam and meeting so many lovely people, its the staff at the Saigon Farmstay that stick in my mind. What a beautiful introduction to such an amazing country.
- Tel (10/5): Exceptional - The homestay is situated outside the centre of Saigon. It is not easy to find, even the taxi driver had problems with it, but the owner, An, explained him how to drive there. It is an oasis of peace in the city, if you are tired of the hassle of Saigon, this is the right place! The owners, An and his family, are extremely nice and helpful, there is literally nothing which they cannot arrange. I was invited to the family for dinner at the first night, thank you for offering me this possibility! The second day they showed me a real market, not the touristy one in the centre. Briefly, if you want authentic experience instead of the usual touristy stuff, you are at the best place here!
It must be noted that the bungalows are basic, you will have a bathroom which is open-air, and the mosquito net is essential, because you have tons of mosquitos. There are a lot of animals on the farm, you should not have to be afraid of dogs, birds and bats!
Thanks again for this memorable experience!
- Ada (10/5): Perfect stay from A to Z - We had a warm and lovely welcome. The property is big, beautiful, all handmade, really calm and quiet, the staff speaks english and was extremely friendly. They made us feel like family, and we loved that is was so environmentally friendly. Ngo showed us the games and together we harvested some veggies and had dinner, it was awesome! Nothing, we absolutely loved everything
- Jade (10/5): A perfect urban retreat. - A friendly, homely place in a beautiful setting just outside the city.
- Mỹ (10/5): Amazing getaway from the city busy life. Will definitely come back! - Amazing homestay that is way beyond our expectations. We were booking this homestay as last minute and on the photos, it seemed like a small garden with wood rooms for a little getaway from the city but in real life, it's so big and offered lots of activities. It pictured the life of Mekong Delta River region in Vietnam. Rowing the boats, walking the bridges, crossing the river by zipline, visiting the farms and the veggie field via bike riding is an amazing experience. We also spent half a day fishing at the peaceful river and watched the sunset. We also had traditional clothing of the Mekong Delta farmers to wear and to blend in completely with the life there. The air so fresh. The location was close to the city centre. The host family was amazing and very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food a lot. We also made friends with the puppies. They had so many dogs there. The homestay offered a wide range of organic food homegrown by the family, from veggie, to meat to fruit wine. You should definitely try the jackfruit wine and other fruit wine they had there. We will definitely come back! The way there is quite complicated and confusing. On google map, it's pinned on the other side of the river while in fact, it's the opposite. So make sure you follow the google map until you reach the bridge and call the host for better instructions.
- Flynn (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone there was so kind, including all the other travellers! Food was exceptional. Truly an unforgettable experience, I will be back
- Jayne (8/5): I enjoyed the real experience. If I’m ever in HCMC I’ll be sure to drop in for another stay with my new friends. - It’s a quiet secluded homestay on an agricultural farm. It is an immersive experience with local people, local fresh vegetables and fresh caught fish and homestyle cooking. The bungalow was authentic, and a fun experience to see a bit of the countryside located very close to Ho Chi Minh City.
Took a scooter grab as the path is not suitable for cars, but this was fun! If you like rustic, authenticity, adventure and experience real life in a Vietnamese community. Give it a go! An the host is amazing! More signs for better direction for both grab drivers and tourists as there are winding paths. Mosquitos so be prepared it’s in a rural setting around water. If it rains be prepared with a rain coat for transfer in and out of farmstay with a scooter.
- Marlene (9/5): Superb - Great location for a weekend getaway from the city: right in the middle of green and countryside, yet so close to the city. Expect a farm stay, not a hotel. The outdoor shower, the outdoor place and all the attractions (for kids, but hey we liked it too) were great! Also nice food, very friendly and flexible owners. We'll be back to take a break and relax :)
- Amy (10/5): Fantastic - This homestay is such an amazing way to have some down time from the craziness of saigon! its lovely and peaceful. staff were so kind and helpful. The location IS accessible but I’d be careful if you’re arriving later and it’s dark. But it’s perfect- no dislikes/complaints
- Lakshman (8/5): Very good - Great location, wonderful hosts, unique experience Nothing in particular
- P_g_5 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (7/5): Good -
- P_g_5 (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful place, awesome family, authentic food
- Philip (10/5): Like nirvana on a bamboo pole 🎋 - stunning location on outskirts of Saigon
wonderful, spacious but spartan rooms
fabulous caring & accomodating farm family. local food & farm produce available.
very happy & friendly fellow travelers sometimes I found the meat hard to digest & chew for these old gums 😬
- Jordan (10/5): A Great Time At Saigon Home Stay - This home stay was amazing with great friendly staff,
The grounds of this home stay is massive with lots of activities to do from canoeing on there lake to getting pedal bikes and riding around the grounds, there's also tire swings and big netting stretched across trees where you can cliimb through.
There's platforms in the trees where you can sit and just view the surrounding lake.
The family treated us like family also letting us make dinner and teaching us how to make spring rolls and a dipping sauce.
- Oisín (10/5): Perfect place for relaxation - The family were so so welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The hut was beautiful, airy, and the bathroom facilities were very good. Beautiful location, along with little trails around the property. Perfect escape from the bustle of HCMC. Make sure you follow instructions on getting there if using a car/taxi. Absolutely nothing.
- Dzogch (10/5): Authentic stay, surrounding by care and Nature - I came to Saigon to solve some health problems. I chose this place for several reasons. First of all, its location, in contact with nature while being close enough to the city, then, for the opinions that were left indicating attentive hosts, finally, for the value for money. Here I found what I was hoping for and more. Indeed, the hosts took great care during my recovery period, bringing me meals in the room every day, while making sure that I didn’t miss anything. The bungalows are of traditional construction, all in wood. Each has a small terrace and most have a hammock where it is good to daydream. The bathroom is basic but has the necessary as well as hot water, at will. Some are partly open air. Inside the rooms, mosquito nets available as well as electric kettles, sufficient sockets, comfortable mattresses, wifi working perfectly! The icing on the cake, the environment! The garden is superb, there is plenty to explore... by strolling among the many flowers and fruit trees of the farm. Some viewpoints are set up in the trees so as to be able to admire the sunrise or sunset. sun on the surrounding countryside. For children: Monkey bridges, swings, boats, small zip line, etc. Here we are on a farm, this implies the presence of many animals including chickens, ducks, goats, dogs and many pigeons, as far enough from the accommodations. The food is organic, quality, tasty, and the vegetarian option is also open. I was able to test their organic wine… it is a maceration of different fruits, there are several possible choices, each time, a delight! Here, you will literally be immersed in the life of this lovely family, will most certainly be able to share a few meals in their company as well as very pleasant discussions. They will do their best to satisfy your every desires and enhance your trip. To those it inspires, Go ! :.) Wherever you go, there is always less good and there is always better... for my part, the positive took over!! I would like to thank my hosts again for their kindness and their friendship.
- Matthew (10/5): The stay was amazing! Great location to experience rural life. An was a big help! - My friend ate the breakfast, I never do, but he liked it a lot!
- Arpan (10/5): More than what humanly can expect, my stay exceeds all the expectations and happy to recommend all - There is not a single thing which I would like to change, staff, hospitiality and service, rooms and above all the way they treat and make the stay more safe, enjoyable and they go way above and beyond in every possible way. not a single thing
- Anna (10/5): Nature relaxation on outskirts of the city - Great people! Very kind host. They really treated me like family. Cozy nature hideaway tucked away outside of the city. A great place to rest and relax. They will cook you (and teach you how to make) great Vietnamese food. Learned a lot about the history of Vietnam and even some basic Vietnamese from An and her mother. Will be coming back! Thanks! The location was difficult to navigate traveling by car (Grab). Had to walk 10 minutes once arriving at the bridge towards the homestay. Keep in mind if you plan to arrive by car! Motorbike is preferred.
- Grg (9/5): I enjoyed the stay and it was very good experience out in the countryside. - it’s in the nature and very peaceful. absolutely loved the vibes there and very helpful and lovely staff. such a great bond with people there, it was a beautiful scenery and fantastic to take photography too. nothing :)
- Quỳnh (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - I love the bamboo houses we stayed in, the sound of the rain, frogs chirping and the crickets helped me sleep so well. The rooms are simple but have everything you need, a nice mattress, pillows and sheets to sleep under. I ate each meal with the family who are super friendly and the food was delicious. There are hammocks everywhere so you can just relax in the jungle, alternatively you can help out with some of the farm chores like feeding the goats. They make this delicious strawberry rice wine that is out of this world. I will be back again very soon I am sure of it. There was honestly nothing I did not like. It is not the type of place I would recommend for people who are used to five star hotels, but if you are looking for a relaxing few days out in the countryside then this might be the one for you.
