- Elizabeth (5/5): The location is perfect however the actual apartment was smelly and uncomfortable - Prime location The smell from the bathroom was terrible and the sofa bed was really uncomfortable
- Lusungu (4/5): - the location of the studio is perfect right in the centre close to everything. Before the trip we had informed them we would be a bit earlier then said check in time and received no response. The trip came and we called the host multiple times no response it was raining and we had our luggage with us for 3 hours before they responded. Upon entering the building it was eerie. THE STAIRS. prepare to be climbing was not expecting it to be so many pack light. Initially room looked nice but once you take a good look there was stains on the bed sofa, window didn't shut properly so a small breeze would enter. At some point it was rainier and water was seeping in onto the windowsill
- Filip (5/5): If you’re looking for a cheap city center location, it’s probably the cheapest you can find. Don’t expect crazy perfect - Location is great, it’s actually perfect, because it’s in the soul center of Amsterdam. When we came into the property, the heating was quite low and bad, the small electric heater wasn’t working and we got a new one only 2 days prior to our leave, so it was constantly cold.
Additionally the mini fridge wasn’t working as well, even tho I addressed it with the POC multiple times.

- Surfingfox (3/5): Poor - The apartment is at a superior location in the middle of the Grachten Belt and it's totally fine that it's basic but theoretical stylish and no luxury for the price BUT... see below...Everything is comfortably in walking distance and building looks super nice from the outside. Staff was friendly. Although the location in Kaizersgracht was super nice and I think the state of the apartment was as well in the beginning, there are a few things that are absolutely a no go when you rent out an apartment professionally and for nearly 500Euros a weekend:
1. The HORRIBLE stench that comes out of the bathroom and makes you want to vomit each time you have to go in there🤢🤮 I covered the shower sink w a towel but did not help. That is UNBEARABLE! And obviously has always been a problem...
2. The equipment of the " kitchen": there is only 1 cup and 2 glasses, as well as 1 bowl and 3 plates plus 1 fork and 2 spoons,no knife at all!!!! Glad my boyfriend and daughter did not come along,we could not have had breakfast in the apartment as planned😡 you really have to stock up on that. Also it wd be nice to at least have 3 starter- capsules for the coffeemachine/ some teabags ( that cost nothing) or mentioning that you have to bring your own on booking.com.
3. There wasn't a 3rd pillow for the person that would have slept on the couch?! Couch: super worn out and extremly uncomfortable to sleep on,you can feel the middle bar everytime you move ( tested it last night)
4. The curtains are dirty, stained and disgusting looking, definitely need a wash!
5. General state of apartment supern worn, broken chair, only one armchair no big carpet, dirty walls, no daylight mirror , flickering light in bathroom, spooky hall and staircases... -> very different from nice pictures which is a shame.
6. no working fire alarm/ smoke detector!!!! Super dangerous for attic apartment!!!!
I
And to be honest 40Euro late check in for 9pm when staff apparently lives in same house is a bit over the top,too...
- Luke (1/5): Horrific, dirty, smelly, unsafe, - This was the worst property and we did not stay
We had to leave
I’ve emailed multiple times and even messaged the owner about it and I will be looking to get a full refund
I did call booking.com and they said they would contact the owners and get it sorted and also said this property will now be investigated because when we turned up it was awful We walked in and could not believe the smell, it was one of the worst smells ever coming from the toilet.
The toilet also had wet towels on the floor
There was rubbish from pervious people who stayed there on the floor
There were stains on the couch and curtains
The building it was in is dangerous with broken tiles and honestly it looks awful without being disrespectful
There was a backboard on the pictures of the bed online but when we got there it was just not there and there was a massive gap with a draft coming through
There was a nut on the table and my friend who I was with has a very bad nut allergy and that could have been seriously dangerous.
The light is cracked and broken
We honestly could not believe how bad it was and how it’s been allowed on booking.com with their pictures being completely wrong and we felt like we got hoodwinked.
There was dust all on the floor and I walked in with white socks and left with black
The ladder to get to the bed was dangerous and we didn’t even bother trying to go up it
There was what looked like tobacco or little black bits all over near the window
We were so uncomfortable we couldn’t stay and had to move to a different hotel.
The owner messaged me and said about getting back to me about the refund but has now not messaged me for the last 2 days
I will be calling booking.com tomorrow about this whole situation

- Palomares (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and perfectly located. - It’s just perfect because you can walk anywhere and still be so close to the apartment. You have everything you need for 3 people and the bed is really comfortable. Staff was also amazing, very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. Overall a 10/10 experience. The amount of stairs but it’s really not that bad.
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Waring (10/5): very nice will defo be back - location, decor and very comfy needs more bowls/cups etc
- Hitiksha (6/5): Great location but room can be improved - Location is great
Cute interiors
Staff is really responsive and nice
Nice that there is sitting area and mini kitchen as well Bathroom starts to smell due to lack of ventilation and first very small
Also many stairs to access the room and more ladder to get to the bed
- Rais (7/5): Nice place, average - Great location and nice studio despite lots of stairs to reach top floor of the building Really awful waste smell emanates from the bathroom, fills the whole flat and requires airing out. You can get used to it for a short stay but not for more than a weekend
- Jacob (6/5): Good price, but you would be panting when you reach your room - Location was good, staff was good, place had good heating It was a cosy spot but it had some flaws, such as, the journey to the top of the studio was a longgg walk up. A lot of stairs and not very ideal if you are coming from a night out and you just want your bed. It also reeked of septic tank that would not go away and we would always make sure the toilet door was closed or we would be suffering. The door handle also came loose the first time we opened the toilet.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (1/5): Bad -
- Milena (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (9/5): Great apartment in perfect location - Amazing location, quiet and safe apartment. Kitchen needed to be stocked better, with more cups and plates. A small microwave would have been very helpful. Plug sockets hanging off walls and not safe to use. As the name suggests "way up studio" so the apartment is on the top floor and up about 5 flights of stairs, not convenient if elderly, if got heavy bags or any kind of disability.
- Anand (9/5): Superb -
- Йоанна (10/5): Exceptional - The place was really cute, bathroom was a little dark but you can easily overlook that considering how amazing the place was.
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abigail (8/5): Brilliant location, could use some more amenities. - The layout was cute and worked very well for what we wanted to explore in Amsterdam. There was no facilities to cook - there was a fridge but we could’ve done with a stove top.
- Angela (8/5): Very good - Excellent location. Nice quirky little place. All that was missing was a mirror in the living space The loft got very hot 🥵.
- Singh (6/5): Pleasant -
- Adelle (6/5): It was cute and cosy and in a good location however it would have been better if we had soap, tea and coffee and a bette - I liked the bed being up the ladder it was cosy and i also liked the location however i would have preferred to be more central but it was a quick tram ride to central. I didn’t like that you don’t get any soap in the bathroom or enough toilet roll. Also there’s no mirror except a really dark glasses mirror and it’s tiny so you can’t see what you like before you leave. They should have a long length mirror. Also they have a kettle but didn’t provide much no tea or coffee or little packets of milks.
- Alexandra (6/5): beautiful place amazing location - REEKS of septic tank that will not leave - The place was beautiful and in an amazing location, could easily sleep four and is super cute- perfect for what we wanted. The bathroom REEKS of septic tank and with the space being so small the smell takes over the appartment. You cannot air the smell out- we finally shut the door and left the window open which made it just bearable. We were told upon check in it would go away with use of the bathroom and we could not get it to go away.
- Visharkar (2/5): Very poor - Dirty,Toilet was not clean, The windows couldn't be shut fully. Wouldn't recommend it to ladies and the place is dodgy and dangerous
- Max (1/5): Bad communication from the owner. Was promised a refund due to being locked in the bathroom. Nothing -
- Mike (2/5): Very poor -
- Demi (3/5): Overpriced and STUNK!! - The studio is located perfectly, its right on a canal and means that access to whatever you want to do in amsterdam really easy! When we arrived there was scaffolding covering the entire building, we were told it was going to be removed that day (friday) so thought nothing of it, however it wasnt removed and stayed up even when we left on monday! the view was a major part of our booking, the scaffolding being up meant we didn't get to experience this at all, if we had been pre warned it would have been easier to deal with but it was just sprung on us so was very disappointing! it also meant the room was very loud as the covering on the scaffolding would blow on the window all night… the next issue was the overall upkeep of the apartment, it was in serious need of some tlc, the window frames were all broken and rotted away that there was a constant draft in the room as air was just getting in through the holes, there was parts of the room where insulation was coming through the wood and some parts that looked like they had old blood on them! the worst part of our stay was the smell! This apartment stunk of stagnant water and sewage! to the point where we would gag entering the apartment, we avoided using the bathroom where possible because the smell was that awful! it truly ruined the entire stay, if we hadn’t have spent over £600 we’d have left it was that rancid! the stairs were really difficult to get up with luggage and 2 of the flights had no lights which was incredibly difficult, the building the apartment is in is pretty run down and unattractive also. Also no mirror!! no full length mirror just a tiny one in the bathroom, a mirror would really help make the space look bigger
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is really close to everything, best position! And the guy who walked us in was really kind, he even checked with us of everything was fine after the first night. Also, he left us a city map with guides and everything and even discounts for attractions. Would 100% recomend. The price was a bit high but not even that much, I would recomend to go as 4 people, cause we were 3. The apartment was really small, but we only slept in it and went out for the whole day so not really a problem about that.
- Kinga (8/5): Very good - Really nice rooms, clean, extremely comfortable beds We barely had any heating at all. We were quite cold the first 2 nights.
- Jenkins (8/5): Beautiful traditional stay in the most perfect location! - The studio is in the most perfect location and is a traditional Dutch style house, lovely decorated and warm. a flaw would be the shower as the water goes all over the bathroom and the light flickers between bright and dim. A full length mirror would also really help the space. We also had some problems with the heating, but luckily it was a warm weekend so we were fine.
- Niall (7/5): good location, was for a good price on short notice. Main bed and sofa bed were both comfortable. -
