Guest Reviews
- Clarisa (8/5): -
- Chantal (10/5): - I stayed here for two nights and had an excellent experience. The room was incredibly spacious and equipped with air conditioning, which made it very comfortable even when the temperature outside reached 38°C.
The location is excellent: close to the Temple of Literature and set along a quiet, tree-lined avenue that feels peaceful compared to the busy Old Quarter, which is still within easy reach. There is also a mini market less than a minute away on foot, and guests can use the kitchen.
When I arrived, I found two complimentary bottles of water, and the friendly owner helped me with my luggage. I immediately felt at home, even while being far away. Another great advantage was being able to leave my big suitcase there for several days while traveling around northern Vietnam, which was extremely convenient.
A big thank you to the host — I truly hope many more people choose to stay here.

- Moritz (9/5): - Tolles homestay. Ruhige Lage im Hinterhof. Sehr sauber. Gemeinschaftsbad ok.

- Mike (10/5): I would and most likely will stay here again. - Friendly host, quiet location, good internet for working. Nothing, was good value and everything advertised.

Gracias .
- Philipp (10/5): -
- Shane (9/5): -
- Dawson (7/5): - Clean Far walk to city center
- Michael2006 (8/5): - The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood. It's about 300m away from the main street from where one can order a scooter for a 1$ to take you to the old Quarter. Other sights such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature are within a walking distance. The room price was very reasonable.
- Philipp (10/5): -
- Paul (5/5): Very basic accommodation. Very cheap, but don't expect to much. You get what you pay for. - The owner is friendly and speaks quite good English. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, and the bedding clean. There was a convenient desk and chair, and the owner provided an extension with multiple outlets as the nearest wall socket was a bit too far. Wifi was strong and stable. This homestay is far from the railway station. There are no markings on the building so I had to ask a neighbor. The main problem is that some of the description in Booking.com is inaccurate or out-of-date. It does mention that the bathroom is shared, but this is buried in the small print and not shown upfront as is the norm on Booking.com, which is why I missed it. Some of the information is comically inaccurate. The VND price for parking converts to $381,752 per day: enough to buy a couple of dozen new cars each day. ;-) This information is in serious need of corrections and updating.
- Calen (10/5): Sweet place tucked away from the busy streets. - This is a really sweet place tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We were looking for something comfortable that felt more personal, and this did not disappoint. The beds are comfortable and the host was kind. It’s easy to go in and out on your own. You can hear some city happenings during the day but it’s pretty quiet at night. Having big windows and a small balcony was a huge plus!
- Tamara (4/5): -
- Renee (10/5): -
- Sam (7/5): - Good bed, friendly host, hot water Bit of a walk to old quarter
- Paolo (10/5): Everything was perfect, but especially the owner, Dang Hao, a famous photographer and journalist, h -
- Xaver (10/5): Hanoi zentral, entspannt & ruhig, keine Durchgangsstraße..

- Sara F (10/5): Wow! A lovely quiet place in hectic Hanoi - A really quiet and cozy place to rest while visiting hectic and noisy Hanoi. I have serious sleeping troubles and here I could hear just the birds, which is nearly impossible in Hanoi! Beyond amazing!
Bed was comfy, room and bathroom were clean, welcoming has been kind. The house has character, it's not an anonymous guesthouse.
We also loved the location, as it is in a very authentic cute narrow street, not touristy, where you can observe real vietnamese daily life happening.
We went everywhere walking or by a short bus ride.
This homestay became our base in Hanoi!
- Francesco (10/5): -
- dieu linh (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): An Authentic Vietnamese experience. Local neighborhood with everything you need. -
- Benoit (8/5): - Clean and spacious room in a quiet area!
30min walking from old quarter. Hard bed
Cleaningness of bathroom depends on people you share it with
- dana lev (9/5): - I stayed here two years ago and came back again. I like that the apartment is not in the tourist area. The room itself is great, hard but comfortable mattress, there is a desk and chair and you can work at the same time because the internet is excellent. The shower and toilet are shared, on days when there were more guests in the house, they were less clean, but that makes sense. The host is kind. I will come back a third time if I have the chance. There were no large body towels, only small head towels that you can't wrap yourself in after bathing. Luckily I'm a backpacker and I have a body towel in my bag.
- Mattia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Killian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julien (9/5): Superb - Nice place , stayed there 4 nights. Owner is Lovely, rooms are bigger than in the pictures. Lots of good food places around not overpriced like the old quarter. Would really recommend for a stay in ha noi . Really quiet area by the way not bothered by the trafic. Didn’t dislike anything, sure its not brand New but its Lovely.
- Sofiia (9/5): This place is really nice! Host is kind, we enjoyed our stay a lot. - So cosy and stylish! Everything we needed to have a good time.
- Zuzanna (7/5): Would be an amazing stay if only a bit cleaner ;) - Good location; good WiFi; AC, fridge, towels in room; locked room; quiet location; near pharmacy, minimart and laundry place The bathroom and room weren’t clean enough, though the towels and sheets were clean.
There were ants in our room which climbed our bed but the owner handled that quickly so it wasn’t so bad after all.
- Gabriela (10/5): Confortable and beautiful -
- Cyrus (9/5): Superb -
- Matan (8/5): Very good - Nice lady that helps with everything. Nice and welcoming house. Very basic, keep in mind.
- Paquola (10/5): Exceptional - The best room that I had in Hanoï, the owner is extremely nice and the room was absolutely beautiful and clean ! I highly recommand !

- Elyas (10/5): Exceptional - Good hotel Nothing
all things very good and clean nice hotel
- Mahlon (9/5): Superb -
- Aleksei (8/5): Very good - Room was clean and with home vibes.
Shared bathroom
- Long (9/5): Superb -
- Gauchotiger (9/5): Superb - The host was really friendly and played guitar. Room was clean and air conditioner was good. Desk was also a good option to do remote work. Just the noise in the morning of a man next door using power tools on furniture was super annoying.
- Padan (8/5): Very good -
- Lina (10/5): Recommend! - The room was spacious and had a beautiful view. The main street was busting with traffic, but you wouldn't tell from the room as it is in a quiet corner of the road. The bed was big and very comfortable. The house feels like a photo exhibition and we were amazed by all the amazing photos in and outside of the room. The owner was very chill that we didn't have cash and was ok that we pay later, he was also very quick with responding to inquiries. Nothing. Everything was great.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jake (9/5): Great Stay in Hanoi - Rooms were large and had a fridge. Shared bathroom was tidy. Good location and WiFi. Paying in cash only was a bit troublesome
- T.ir. (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (7/5): Good - + Friendly and relaxed host
+ Nice home and room with character
+ Good bed - Shared bathroom
- Tess (9/5): Lifesaver!! - The size of the room was great after staying in small private hostel rooms.
The host was amazing- we left one of our passports in a Grab when we were leaving for the train station and he helped us by calling the driver to retrieve it. Truly a lifesaver!!
The location is a little further away from the old quarter, but we actually liked seeing what 'suburban' life was like. The shared bathroom wasn't the best but acceptable for the price.
- David (10/5): Cozy and quiet place - highly recommend - - very quiet location. You dont even feel you are in Hanoi. This is a big plus given that most places are very noisy
- comortable bed and spacious and clean room - none
- Ern (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Nikola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emilia (9/5): Good place to relax in a busy city - Big and clean room with a balcony facing cute quiet street. Loads of streetfood around. Walking distance to Old Quarter. Nice, responsive host. The room was a bit dark despite huge windows. There is no heating which I guess wouldn’t be a problem normally (a/c was working), but unfortunately during our visit it was 13 C outside and probably the same inside.
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Yam (9/5): The room and the baloney were so lovely. The host was friendly, nice, and very trusting. - The host was very friendly and nice.
- Stanislava (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet spot close by center. Nice room with balcony.
- Pavol (9/5): Good value for the money - Very good value for the money, cozy little room, clean, comfy bed. Owner was always responsive and helpful. Little off hand
Inconvenient way of locking/unlocking main doors
- Muhammad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alde (7/5): Good -
- Jana (8/5): Very good - It felt very homey and cozy. The decor is nice and the neighborhood too. Walking distance to major landmarks is quite long, but there is a bus station nearby and GrabCar works well too. The beds are quite
hard.
- Nancy (7/5): Good -
- Darla (8/5): Very good -
- Sirada (9/5): Superb - Beautiful decoration None
- Elena (9/5): Local urban oasis - Local neighborhood and feeling, cute house in alley behind tiny charming streets.
Plants, balcony. Upretentious vibe. Not in the old quarter. Not a minus just a notice for those who are looking for it.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): cozy home stay & super nice host - clean, comfortable home stay in a quiet residential alley. well decorated with beautiful photography. looks exactly like the pictures.
the host is super friendly and helpful.
we booked 2 nights ended up coming back after Halong bay for another couple of nights. it is about 15 mins walk to the old town, but we didn’t mind. it’s a nice walk past the temple of literature and lakes.
- Teodor (9/5): Superb -
- Carolina (9/5): Superb - It's a really quiet area. Really close to the Literature Temple thus a bit far from the Old Quarter but it's an easy walk. The communication with the owner was good and he let us leave the luggage for some hours after checking out. It's a shared bathroom, which is something that is not clear at all in the description of the room.
Check out time is quite early (11 am), but is something compensated with the fact you can leave the luggage
- Sơn (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (7/5): Good - We loved the overall feel of the place. The rooms are well lit and well arranged with photographs, I guess which belonged to the owner, The rooms are comfortable!
Unfortunately the washroom did not have any toiletries. It was a shared washroom between two rooms.
The host is warm and was kind enough to accept our courier which he paid for since we got there after.
The location however does not have enough eateries around and it's at the end of a narrow road which makes it hard for the cabs to come all the way in.
- Elissa (7/5): Cute place to stay - Location was nice, very quiet. I was glad I was staying outside of the busy old centre of Hanoi. It was a very cute place to stay. Room was big, had everything I needed. Owner is a very warm and friendly person :) Communication for checking in was not 100%. Door was closed shut and had to wait a while outside before people noticed I was there.
- Tr (10/5): Exceptional - Nice house, very nice decorated, room with balcony just amazing!
The host was very kind and helpful with everything like organizing airport taxi.
I think its really good value for the money!
