Guest Reviews
- Rachel (8/5): - The area was perfect, residential and quiet. Very close to walking trails. Room was secluded and nice bathroom.
- TCDoan (5/5): I would hope the host would improve the accommodation, but probably wouldn't return. - The Location & Neighborhood were nice. The unit was an adequate space, two beds in 2 rooms with some seating. The bathroom/shower all worked. Provided only street parking, which was never a problem and safe as any upscale neighborhood. The Queen bed in bedroom with the bath was basically broken, with a huge sag in the middle, so we chose to sleep crowded on the full-sized bed in the first/entry room. This unit could have been nicer, a small (sleeper?) sofa &/or chairs as sitting area in first/entry room would have been nicer than 2 beds. The unit would benefit from AC, as the two ceiling fans over the beds only moved hot air down (admittedly, LA was having a bit of an Aug heat wave while we stayed here). The armoire provided in the first/entry room squeaked horribly and there was other people's trash left in it. Overall the place had a weird/house-chopped-up feeling to it, with all the appointments (including 4 Marilyn Monroe pictures) being as inexpensive as possible. Lastly, the terrace outside was adjacent to a construction project and not really a comfortable place to sit.
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juliet (7/5): Great space to sleep and shower. - The property was very clean, the neighborhood was nice, and the owner was very communicative and welcoming. I felt that it should’ve been made clear that there wasn’t a/c for people with asthma because of the air quality; however, opening the windows while running the ceiling fan helped cool down the room to a comfortable level.
My family and I would’ve felt more secure if there had been bolts or a latch on the shared doors inside of the room. We could hear movement on the other side of the doors and it caused us to feel a bit unsafe.
The towels were quite rough and the hand wash was more like watered down dish soap.
The steps up to the property were very steep with two gates and that should also be noted in the description for people who may have a hard time climbing stairs.
The entry to the property was very narrow/tight and it made it difficult to maneuver a large suitcase into the room or to wear a backpack as you were trying to get through the door.
Extras that would’ve been nice: washcloths, kuerig coffee maker with pods or tea bags for the kettle, and maybe water bottles, a larger trash bin, tissues, better quality toiletries.
- Saba (8/5): Very good - Lovely, quiet neighborhood and good value. Would love to stay again.
- Doug (9/5): Superb -
- Assya (9/5): Superb - Great location, very quite and beautiful street, very nice communication
- Ryan (8/5): A quiet, charming apartment in the Hollywood Hills with a few fixable flaws - The location is excellent, in the Hills just outside of Griffith Park. Easy to get to, no problem with parking on the street. Neighborhood is very quiet, the terrace is very nice, and the two rooms and bathroom are quite comfortable. The idea of this being a vacation rental is maybe not fully thought out yet. There is an electric kettle but no coffee maker. There is a microwave but only a few plates and cups, and no dish soap to wash them. (The only sink is in the bathroom; that’s fine but there’s no way to deal with dishes.) There are only two small trash cans with no way to deal with a few days of accumulated garbage. The TV is not set up to be watched—even live—unless you sign in to your own streaming accounts. The bathtub seems to be missing a second pane of glass to prevent spills onto the bathroom floor.
I think these things are all very fixable, and I hope they will be in order to make a perfect stay for future guests.
- Simone (10/5): Everything perfect! - Perfect Location, really nice apartment! -
- Clinton (7/5): Good but not great - Private and quiet, comfy bed and plenty of space for two people. Located right at the base of the Hollywood Hills so good to go hiking up into the hills for the day. Neighbourhood is very residential and felt very safe- lots of beautiful homes all around. The location to the Hills is great but then getting anywhere west like BH, WeHo, Santa Monica etc is at least 25 mins + in a Lyft/ Uber. We didn’t travel to Downtown or eastern parts of LA so don’t know if that’s easier. The little details like no tissues, watered down hand soap etc just made it feel slightly more budget than it really needed to as the place itself is very nice- just no much attention to details.
Also there’s a lot is steep steps up to the room- we were fine but for anyone unfit or physical impaired this could be hard especially handling luggage up the stairs.
- David (8/5): Very good - Quaint , cozy , comfortable , homey & old fashioned hospitalty . Met the owner and she told us if there is anything we need just ask her. We will stay here again. Loved the outside terrece right out side our door.
- Avra (8/5): Very good - The location of the room nearby a hiking facility, the area was quiet enough. In the cooking hours, the room was smelly.
- Vincent (8/5): Very good -
- Nicoletta (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (8/5): Worth the price and was clean but wouldn’t recommend w/kids as you feel you’re living with the owner because you can - Location. Safe. Could hear every step, word, cough the other room made. Broken shower door.
- Christine (10/5): Absolutely will book here if available the next time I am visiting LA…thanks! - Location, comfort, beautiful bathroom, lots of storage, responsiveness of owner, perfect for me in every way
- Mirjeta (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (8/5): Too short! - Great location adjacent to Griffith Park, Los Feliz and Hollywood Motion sensor lighting outside of the apartment is recommended
- Paul (7/5): Great for visiting Hollywood, safe and clean - Great stop over for our short time , Felt safe and in good location. Clean and comfortable. Free Off street parking outside. Didn’t get Wi-Fi details until after we left due to poor signal ( maybe UK phones) wasn’t a guest book to point you in right directions (would be useful for local stores and restaurants) only draw of assorted leaflets
- Tanya (10/5): Great location, beautiful safe place! - Great location, beautiful safe place!
- Jiawei (10/5): Cozy room at a great location. -
- Rob (9/5): Pleasant stay in a beautiful house in an amazing location - The location of this property is magnificent. Close to Hollywood Blvd and Beverly Hills. If you want to take pictures of the Hollywood Sign, it's practically around the corner. Free parking in the street, close to the Hollywood Freeway. Universal Studios within 15 minutes. I would have liked to be able to make coffee in the morning. There is only a watercooker available, so tea lovers get what they want. This is nitpicking, but a coffee machine (Nespresso or Keurig) would have made it perfect.
- Lori (7/5): Nice but a bit expensive. - The decor was lovely. Beds were comfortable although one was very loud if one moved. it would have been nice to have a coffee service and a bottle of water available.
- Adriane (8/5): Pleasant! - The location was PERFECT! Clean and confortable. The host is supper nice and helpful.
- Markw1959 (10/5): Outstanding spot in great location to visit Hollywood - Location was perfect, the rooms were spacious and clean, the hosts were gracious and kind. One of the best stays I've had. About the only downside was having to walk up stairs, but the room at the top of the house was worth it.
- Nicola (8/5): Perfect location in peaceful safe area. - perfect spot, close to the freeways, quiet, safe neighbourhood, host was very helpful, would definitely return.
- Lauren (7/5): Good -
- Benjamin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joseph (9/5): Very gracious and accomodating owners. Great location. - The location at the base of the Griffith Observatory was great. Good access to Hollywood. Good access to freeways. Easy to get around. On the third level so taking a lot of luggage up might be a problem for some
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful family hosting would recommend
- Keith (10/5): Cozy, secure and quiet place to stay, in the heart of Hollywood but still above the noise and bustle - Really great location in Hollywood Hills very near the Hollywood sign. It was a cozy, quiet and well-furnished, secure apartment with great interior decoration on a very quiet tree lined and hill bracketed street with very friendly neighbors and easy access to Hollywood with supermarkets, eateries, and other stores less than three minutes away by car. The owners were extremely friendly and proactive with driving directions and requests, while also being completely unobtrusive which made it feel as if I was staying in my own place. I don't have a single dislike or complaint about the experience. It was all good.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional -
