Guest Reviews
- Jingyu (10/5): -
- Samantha (1/5): Awful - Do not book this property. The owner demanded that we cancelled or paid more money (£104.00 extra per person), the night before our stay!!! We had paid in full a week prior. We had booked for four people so almost doubled the cost of the stay. She left us extremely stressed without accommodation the night before my husband ran the London marathon.

- Brian Cross (10/5): home from home, hope to be back soon - very comfortable, owner was helpful and made us feel welcome and at home.
shared bathrooms and kitchen no problem nothing
- Irmina (10/5): Everything was amazing. - The owner was exceptionally kind, attentive and hospitable. The house is charming. I would definitely stay there again.
- Jill (8/5): Comfortable, clean, welcoming rooms in the owner’s home - This was room only accommodation (with kettle, mugs, tea, etc in the room). Good location for me as I was visiting relatives close by. On bus routes to the centre of London. Shared bathroom facilities which were spotless. I was aware of this on booking.
- suprita (9/5): - It was very clean and well kept property and a very friendly hostess It was on the expensive side especially considering location
- Rachel (10/5): Super - The property is quiet and easy to get to . I felt incredibly safe and welcomed here by the hosts Francine . The room was lovely , and the facilities were all clean and easily accessible. Very lovely stay have booked my next three trips to London to stay here . Notjing

- Caroline (10/5): Francine was so welcoming and friendly and offered advice on what to do in London - Great location, beautiful period property, very comfortable bed, very clean, great shower, lovely host! No dislikes!
- Ms (10/5): Lovely - Lovely room, good shower, friendly people. The location worked well for me for an event I was attending, but Brixton / Herne Hill etc are generally great places to explore. Really appreciated the rate I got as a solo traveller. Would absolutely go back. Nothing big - I'm never keen on arrangements where you have to phone 30 mins in advance because I routinely don't have a signal with my UK phone, especially if using the Tube, and know that with a foreign phone it can be an issue, I understand why that's wanted if course though. This is a room in someone's home which might not suit everyone e.g. no lock on the bedroom door, but it's a lovely place and I had a lovely stay.
- Antonio (8/5): Great place! - Very clean, comfortable and Francien an amazing host.
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Eggleston (9/5): Superb - A very pleasant accommodating host, good size bedroom with a comfortable bed, living room with tv, books of all types, games, flowers, tea and coffee selection was outstanding.
- Jennie (10/5): Lovely 2 night stay - Francine is lovely and friendly. Quiet street and house. Room is comfortable and a good size for what you need. Bathrooms are clean and well kept. Will definitely return when next in the area. Thank you
- Gabriel (4/5): My sad Experience at Holemewood - It's the first place and the first time I was told I could only check in by 5pm it's so sad. I arrived in London at 7:40 am ( despite paying for 3 nights with the intention of spending just 2 nights so as to gain entry anytime a day after. But to no avail 1) check in time was bad
2) the room was far below my taste ( alot of personal/ family stuff) I could not complain
3) was banned from bringing in friends/ family to visit ( was never pre informed )
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (10/5): I had a wonderful stay at Francien's apartment. I strongly recommend it. - I had a wonderful stay at Francien's house. I strongly recommend it. I received a warm welcome and Francien is very nice, kind and helpful. I loved the house, the décor and the cosy surroundings. The apartment is very close to the bus stop and to the underground.
- Katherine (10/5): The property had everything we needed and more! Such a wonderful visit and very accommodating place! -
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional - All was very very good. The room was very big and the host, Francien, is such a lovely person. Her house are beautiful. It's very easy to go to the City Center by bus. Totally recommended.

- Ale (10/5): Lovely place - Is a really comfortable place. It felt like home. Francien is a kind hearted person always open to help and gave me the best advices about what could I do or see. The place is well located. You can go everywhere by bus, train or the underground. Everything is very clean. Everything was good. I will defenetly be back if I come back to London.
- Emma (10/5): Warm and safe stay at Holmewood - I had a trip away to clear my mind.
I was drawn to Francien's beautiful house, and I wanted to stay somewhere warm, friendly, and welcoming. This is exactly what I got!
Francien's home was clean, calming, and family oriented. Most importantly, I felt safe, and this is what all single travellers want, right?
There was parking outside, and the property was located a short walk from shops. The bed was super comfy 😴 and the shower was also lovely.
Francien is wise and knowledgeable. She gave me good advice and helped me to reflect on my situation. I found not only a good hoist but a true friend in her, and I am planning to return. 😀 There was nothing I didn't like.
- Jasmin (10/5): Exceptional -

- Trehan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zayn (10/5): Would stay again - The host was very communicative, kind, and welcoming. Small tour of the house was efficient and I was not disturbed at all. Bed was very comfortable, and shower/bathroom was clean. Null.
- Haniya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susann (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): A lovely place to stay! - The host Francien is very helpful and very friendly, she will go out of her way to make sure you feel at home. The room was beautiful, quiet and comfortable. All facilities were very clean.
- Davidw273 (10/5): Exceptional - Francien is a wonderful host and made me feel so welcome. The house is immaculate and beautiful, with homely touches in the room and throughout.
She is very knowledgeable and had suggestions on where to go, eat etc. when I was not sure. She was so happy to get to know about my stay (I was visiting for Pokémon Go Fest), and to learn about me, which I'm sure is the same with other guests.
I really felt at home throughout and, if I am to ever need to be near there in the future, will look up this place again. The only thing I didn't like was that I wasn't able to stay and visit London for longer.
- Jak (10/5): A cosy home away from home. - Host & assistant was very welcoming. Room was clean, plenty of plugs and usb ports around the room and well maintained facilities. Unfortunately the bed sheets were a bit rough.
- Oby (10/5): Exceptional - The host was exceptional. This was my first time in London. She assisted me a lot with directions. Thank you Francine. I stayed only two nights due to change in travel plans. I would have expected a refund for the other two nights that I was not there as I checked out at 7am.
- Tony (9/5): Cosy and friendly Brixton/ Lambeth homestay option. - Homey comfortable accommodation. Lots of coffee / tea / candies in the room. Comfortable and well-appointed common areas (back garden, living room and kitchen) that we unfortunately under-used. Francien is a gracious host who takes a lot of pride in opening her family home to guests. Would've been nice to be able to lock our room door from the outside when we left. But we do understand it's difficult to make doors lockable in a private home. Also had to wait a couple hours to check in as the host didn't get back on time four our check-in time and room wasn't ready. But Francien apologised profusely and we had access to the common areas while we waited.
- Magda (9/5): Harmonious - The environment was suitable for working, and I genuinely enjoyed my interactions with Francine, not just during our evening engagements, but also relished the peaceful moments I had there.
- Gabor (9/5): Good base for exploring London. - Nice, clean house. Very friendly, supportive host. The nearby Brockwell Park is ideal for morning runs.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (6/5): Pleasant and comfortable but rather expensive for the amenities offered. - The house is delightful and the room, and the bed, was very comfortable. The location is very handy for transport in all directions, and it's surprisingly quick to get into central London. The bathrooms, while supremely clean, were not quite up to scratch; the upper one, next to my room, had a non-functioning shower, and while I sympathise with Francien's predicament that nobody had told her that it wasn't working, I feel that, for the amount charged per night, an emergency plumber could have been called. And despite her careful instructions about how to avoid water escaping from the lower shower, it did escape (I cleared it up) because the flexible edging to the shower-screen is perished and needs replacing.
- Franca (10/5): Delightful in every respect. Thank you, Francien! - A delightful location for a delightful host! The place is very comfortable in all respects, and Francien is a truly lovely person - which makes a beautiful place something special. The room was beautifully designed and furnished, and the house in general in tune with the Victorian style of the neighborhood. Highly recommended! I booked last minute and couldn't find what I was originally looking for, i.e., an ensuite room. Still, the place is so thoroughly comfortable that I was perfectly fine anyway!
- Vishnu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chihiro (8/5): Very good -
- Stevens (9/5): Superb -
- Mirela (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (8/5): enjoyable stopover and Francine the host was lovely. - beautiful property and bed was really comfortable.
- Anonymous (10/5): excellent - Francine was a wonderful host made us feel at home. location was great close to bus stop easy to get around London. nice park across the street. really nothing bad to say.
- Mora (10/5): Exceptional - very clean place, organized
- Mark (10/5): A real home away from home and Francien lovely and very much the perfect host - Francien was wonderful - very welcoming and the perfect host. The room was lovely and very much a home from home. Although not en suite, the separate bathroom and shower rooms were likewise lovely. Very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend, unreservedly, for anyone who is looking for similar or the same. NA
- Sheilla (9/5): Spacious room and bathroom, the host was amazing and the neighborhood felt safe - The host was lovely and welcoming
- Patricia (7/5): Good - Really good access to public transport and a lovely host who was more than happy to help. I thought I was a bit closer but that was my error
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - The location is perfect. Very near to public transport.
The host Franciene was extremely nice .
The beddings and towels were clean.
The place always smelt nice and felt homely. There was dirt under the bed and the room was only cleaned once in the six days I was there. I found an already full trash can in the room.
Some rooms especially the bathroom and lounge were really cold.
- Rich (9/5): Pleasant Stay with Accomodating Owners - The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was on the first floor just to the right after you entered the house. Location was just a one block walk from the bus stop. The bus was 6 stops from the nearest Tube station. Room was nicely decorated with a desk by the window and a comfortable bed. The bathroom is located on the second floor 13 steps up. The room was a tad cool even for me.
- Chris (9/5): Delightful stay - would strongly recommend and would book again. - beautiful, clean family home - delightfully decorated. warm friendly welcome from Buki. some special touches including slippers! Nothing
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (7/5): Good -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Albert (9/5): Warm and personal experience, lovely hosts, comfy beds! - Francien and Buki are lovely hosts and you can feel that the area is made of a tight knit community (e.g. neighbors were singing Christmas carols in the park just outside). I also had a nice chat with Francien and her granddaughter in the kitchen one morning. Rooms were well equipped and clean and the bed was super comfy! If you like to engage with your hosts and want your experience to be human and personal, this is the right place for you to stay. I don't completely understand that the price for a room doubles if there are two guests. But this might be a London specific thing. We ended up booking two rooms for the same cost as two people in one room.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (9/5): Superb - It was nice for a change to feel like being at home. I travel allot for work and was nice for a change not to be in a hotel. Nothing really.

- Nikolaos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (8/5): Very tasteful accommodation and made to feel very welcome - n/a Ist night was cold but this was rectified imediately for nights 2 or 3.. Presence of Cat... some people have phobias of cats and perhaps this should be made clear at the outset
- Anne (5/5): It was ok - It was an ok location and clean It was somebodies house and very much all there things were there so you felt you were intruding
Room on ground floor ( no lock in bedroom door) and bathroom on 1st floor not allowed to wear shoes /foot wear to go up stairs
There was a resident cat and while I don’t have too many issues with that could of had allergies
Bed uncomfortable
Expensive for what was provided
