Guest Reviews
- Leah (10/5): Definitely stay again - Everything The windows

- Donald Anton (6/5): Great budget accommodation in Perfect Location. - The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Amsterdam by foot. Great restaurants and coffee shops in the neighbourhood. The Bathroom was tiny and very old and outdated. Die to the house being old it is very characterful but difficult if you’re tall and have a big suitcase. Tiny entrance and staircase.
- kemmylle (10/5): Nice - Lott is really nice, the location is perfect, the place is a common Dutch house, very nice to experience local daylife Nothing

- Claudia María (7/5): No volvería.
- MARIA ZELIA (9/5): - Si me a gustado recomiendo
- Ursula (6/5): Live like locals - Good location in Jordaan near shops and restaurants. A friendly manager. Some throughout cleaning would be needed. Not suitable for people with any disabelities.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - Very close to the main attractions, nice and clean
- Nerijus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scarlett (10/5): Cozy and comfortable. - Very homey, comfortable, walking distance to everywhere, free wifi, lovely restaurant below b&b, very kind owner Wifi password could be made apparent (didn’t find till last night - probably our fault though)
- Raina (9/5): Superb -
- Maxime (9/5): Superb - Good lighting
The bed and room are very comfortable
The room is warm Poor window insulation
The main light with the remote control doesn't always work.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (1/5): Checked in and left - Location We weren’t aware that the host would be staying there too. I’m sad to say we left 40 minutes after checking in. We all as a group got a bad feeling about the place. The host seemed nice and friendly until he started talking to us about the government possibly coming by in the morning and they’d likely want to speak to us. Also kept saying people in the centre didn’t really like English people. We got a bad vibe and left which resulted in us paying for another hotel elsewhere.
- Agris (8/5): It is a quite nice apartment close to the city center. The price matches the quality. - Nice location, very close to the city center and main activities. Nice and friendly host. Original Dutch house architecture. The room should be renovated. The cold temperature in the bathroom. Room interiors aren't exactly the same as shown in the booking pictures- some interior details are missing. Rooms in booking.com pictures look much more beautiful than in life.
Broken window.
- Carrie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayne (7/5): Although a b - Our host, Lot, was welcoming and helpful. He also ran the restaurant next door which was convenient and excellent for dinner. Unfortunately breakfast is not included at this B&B but tea and coffee were provided and kitchen facilities were good. Our room was characterful, comfortable and quiet and the location is very central, easy to walk everywhere. This is an old Dutch house with uneven floors and very steep stairs to climb - a bit alarming getting to the bathroom in the middle of the night!
- Lawrence (1/5): bad experience - we didn't like anything. Stairway
bathroom facilities
lighting
front door
I could list things forever
- Lay (10/5): This was by far the best stay we’ve had on our trip. From the location to our host. He was quick with his responses and - The location was amazing. Everything we needed was mainly within walking distance. -
- Hana (8/5): Very good - + Check-in was without problems. We received all the necessary information from the house manager
+ The room was big enough for Amsterdam standards, there was air conditioning, a hairdryer, towels
+ The street is quiet and safe - The accommodation could be cleaner
- Impossibility of later check-out or baggage storage
- Bridget (10/5): Exceeded my expectations, the location, host, and facilities are all wonderful! - Our personal room had it's own sink, so we didn't have to use the shared bathroom to brush teeth, wash face, etc. The shared facilities (bathroom, kitchen, laundry) were good quality and exceeded my expectations. The host was very friendly and showed us around and chatted with us for a while. The laundry wasn't super user-friendly, but we figured it out! :)
- Bevikins (5/5): Passable - The location was good Very steep stairs.
A kettle in room only
Cups in communal kitchen didn't exist.
Walk down corridor and steps to go to loo/shower in a very tight space.
The veranda out of the room window was very dangerous,no rail and mucky.
- Susan (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and the room had character ( an outdoor space and a beamed ceiling). There is a full kitchen and a grocery store nearby. The place is a bit worn. The shared bath worked ok but is a bit of a risk.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay here! The location was perfect and you can easily walk everywhere in the city. The host is extremely kind and welcoming and the rooms are great. I would love to stay here again!
- Diogo (8/5): Very good -
- Rahul (8/5): Very good -
- Molleigh (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Fernanda (8/5): Very good -
- Kristian (5/5): Passable -
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - Amazing location, gracious host, and fun meeting other visitors to Amsterdam who stayed in the second room at the property. Very comfortable bed, too. Bathroom sink was incredibly small and made it difficult to wash my face without spilling water. A bit noisy at night since the AC/heating unit has to connect through the window, which wasn't fully sealed.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Antti (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was really nice, helpful, and could be easily contacted. Responded quickly to any issues.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (7/5): Great location!! - - The location is superb, walkable to everywhere in amsterdam and in a trendy suburb which is more local and less touristy
- The rooms feel homely and are comfortable with lockable doors
- Having a sink in the room was an added bonus
- The host is really nice and welcoming
- Airconditioning portable unit in room was great
- Washing Machine / dryer in property was very handy (however see next point)
- We were in the attic room, which didn’t bother us however they are very steep and narrow stairs which if you have mobility issues could be a problem.
- There are also a number of stairs, still quite steep to get up the the property as it’s on level 1, again no issue for us but if you have mobility issues maybe don’t stay in a classic style Amsterdam house. - It is a shared bathroom (which it clearly states in the property) however the shower and toilet aren’t separated which can mean you may need to wait before use.
- Wifi didn’t work in the attic room which was a shame
- We used the washing machine & dryer on our first day and the owner was very helpful in showing us how to use on check in. When ready to use the dryer, it still had towels in it for a day, so we waited but couldn’t wait any longer so I folded the towels and placed them aside so we could use the amenities. The second day we tried to do our next load of washing however the washing machine was full of bedding and remained full for the next two days. This was frustrating as we paid and wanted to use these amenities but they were not available and clearly not another guests items.
- The toilet paper also ran out, however the host was helpful in replacing this quickly. Over the next two days the toilet paper wasn’t topped up.
These two last points made us question how often the property is serviced/cleaned during the stay.
We did enjoy our stay and the hospitality of the owner, but you can probably get something better for the price if I’m honest.
- Alistair (9/5): Superb - The location was excellent, with most of central Amsterdam and anything you'd want to see being ~10 mins walk away. However, the property was nice and quiet at night, which was brilliant.
The host, Lot, was very friendly and informative. With the weather being so hot we were very grateful that the room had air-con too. Not much. We were aware of the shared bathroom and that was fine with us. This isn't the fanciest place but if you want somewhere quiet and central to stay, it does the job very well.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Charlotte (8/5): comfy, welcoming, homely, ideal for solo business traveller - homely feel, Rachid was really friendly and helpful and was understanding when my flight arrived late.
nice to have access to kitchen and coffee machine a little noisy with the window open but it’s the same at any hotel in central Amsterdam. also beware of the mosquitos!
- Charles (4/5): A great location, a welcoming host, disappointing for the cost. - No breakfast included. Good espresso coffee available.
Great location for restaurants, shopping, museums, bus terminal and airport access.
Friendly, welcoming and available host/owner. This attic room felt shabby and neglected. Could use a paint job, a good cleaning, some furniture, (another chair, a less dilapidated rug, luggage rack, some drawers, somewhere to hang clothes on a hanger), a better mattress, bedside lamps (as seen in ad photo).
You can step out through large French windows on to a dangerous, insecure deck, with makeshift incomplete railings unsecured to deck surface or building. Nice to have outside access, but poorly protected.
Two staircases , both very narrow and steep (an older building of course) - not suitable for older travellers.
We have travelled extensively through the years and found the value for the high cost disappointing. A modern hotel, literally around the corner, offered available rooms for almost 100 Euros less per night - we checked to see if the high cost we were paying was fair for the neighbourhood. It wasn't.
- Elizabeth (6/5): Fine, expected it to be cleaner for the price - Good location for access to the train station and the city centre. The host was very welcoming and on hand - he gave us free cake one of the afternoons we were there. The accommodation was fine but not completely clean, and not as freshly decorated as it appears in the listing photos. The lock on the front door was fiddly to use. The stairs up to the accommodation were steep and narrow (although that might be characteristic of historic Amsterdam buildings) so would be difficult to navigate it you were not fully able-bodied.
- Julie (7/5): Good - Location was brilliant. The room itself was didn't quite match the expectations
- Diane (1/5): our worst experience ever with Booking.com. very expensive to forfeit one night stay. would like to speak to someone fro - bedroom had large windows It is DEFINITELY NOT as advertised on Booking.com: bathroom on another floor (not just ‘shared’ as advertised); access into and out of the apartment was via a steep, dark & narrow staircase with NO handrail; no coffee maker (a must for us). We contacted the property management company to say the 2 staircases were too dangerous for us. Their response was dismissive. We left for our personal safety.
- Bek (5/5): You get what you pay for - It's in a pretty good location, a short tram ride from the main station, and the bus coming from the airport. Plenty of cafes and supermarkets around. Staff were friendly, met us from the cafe downstairs and let us in early after our flight was early. Staff were quick to respond when the wifi network included on the third party arrival instructions didn't work. The TV in our room was not connected to any antenna, so you could not watch anything.
The hand towel for our basin looked used and towels given for showering are very small.
After showering, while drying myself off I realised my towel smelt like urine. I had to shower again and we had to wash and dry all towels after this.
If you aren't aware, lots of places in Amsterdam have very steep stairs. We were in the upper floor and the stairs are more like a ladder. If you have a heavy bag or disabilities, this could be tricky.
There was a full, but previously opened bottle of water left in our room (cap seal had been broken).
The rooms do not have a bin, so you need to collect your own rubbish and place it in the kitchen.
There is one toilet and shower between we think 4 apartments within the B&B. The toilet is very cramped and cannot be used if someone is showering. No hand soap was provided.
The shower was very slow to drain, when inspecting the drain plug I found it was clogged with hair as it had not cleaned out.
We stayed three nights in late March 2023, didn't see anyone cleaning communal facilities. There was no mattress protector on the bed, only a sheet.
The entrance staircase is very dark, with slow automatic lighting. We took videos of before and after, but can't upload.
- Louise (4/5): Fantastic location but accomodation not for us - - The location was amazing, walking distance to everything and on a lovely laneway. You could only access via steep and narrow steps to the room, which wouldn't be accessible for everyone -the room was a decent size but the mattress/ bed was uncomfortable, and although we knew the bathroom was shared it was hard to get to in the middle of the night because of the stairs. Small thing but the wifi didn't reach the top room so had to sit downstairs to reach wifi.
- Alison (8/5): Not luxury but not bad for such a great location at a reasonable price. - Excellent location. Good value compared to other properties in central Amsterdam. Helpful host. Decent water pressure in shower. Good wifi and TV. Squeaky floor and door. Can hear everything from the street (but luckily is a quiet street after 10-11pm). Steep narrow stairs (as is common in Amsterdam but not suitable for any mobility difficulties)
- William (7/5): Good - As a solo traveller wanting a value for money stay for a work trip, this was perfect.
- Emily (6/5): Good value for the price - the host was very nice and the house was perfect for the price paid there isn’t any window in the room and the host didn’t give us any shampoo or soap so we had to buy them ourselves. some forniture in the picture it’s not in the room
- Benmalek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marjolaine.bjr (5/5): Passable - Location is great a couple of min from any Amsterdam must see places.
Typical Amsterdam house. It should be mentioned that the bathroom is not at the same floor than the bedroom.
No heat in the common area and specially in the bathroom.
Some furniture were missing compared to the picture.
The sink and the shelf above were not cleaned
- Anonymous (9/5): Feels like home - Felt like a local living in this cosy house.
Heating was great, shower pressure was really good. Loved being able to wash my clothes on site.
Location was fantastic.
- Nikola (7/5): Good -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - The location is really great and the host was totally nice and helpful.
Also, the apartment is really original, we had a nice stay.
Thanks for everything :)
- Jorge (7/5): Good -
- Jelyn (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (8/5): Very good - The host has an amazing personality, extremely helpful and welcoming. The building looks authentic and nice, although the room looked better in the picture.
- Paulo (7/5): Good -
- Paige (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing, polite, friendly owner, great meal at restaurant next door. Close location to all
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Brigitte (8/5): Very good - Location is splendid and central. The Jordaan is a beautiful area and everything is close by.
The B&B was in a good place. Need bins in the bedrooms.
- Xiaoyu (10/5): Really nice room -
- Lenka (6/5): Pleasant - Location is nice, walkable to everywhere in Amsterdam.
- Agata (8/5): Stay in one of Amsterdam's many wonky houses :) - Authentic, unique atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. We stayed in an upper back room. A balcony was a nice touch, very comfy bed. Host's communication was excellent. Some electrics were quite "creative", a bit dusty and I usually don't like shared bathrooms but it was not a deal breaker. Sort of standard you would expect from AirBnB.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Superb -
