Guest Reviews
- Levendovics László (1/5): BORZASZTÓ, A HÖLGYNEK VALAMI KOMOLY MENTÁLIS PROBLÉMÁJA VAN!!!
Felesleges a Booking.com-on írni a hölgynek, nem válaszol.
A hölgy is ott lakik, életvitelszerűen él velünk. Eztúton köszönjük a bolhacsípéseket!
Lásd a képen!
- Aminu (8/5): - Very nice and close to Central district of Amsterdam.
The lady is very nice
Bijzonder hartelijke vrouw! De faciliteiten zijn niet schoon. Er is een flinke schrobbeurt nodig.
- Inez (7/5): -
- Laura (3/5): Poor -
- Andrea (10/5): The host was extremely warm and accommodating. - It was comfy and quaint! The stairs were scary. They were steep.
- Arnold (8/5): Not what we expected but it turned out OK - Our host Anya was extremely welcoming and generous. She had many little treats for us (crackers, wine, soup, tea, coffee, ice tea etc) and kept offering us others things.
There was a little fridge, a microwave, a kettle and a toasted sandwich maker but no kitchen sink; we had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink. So it looked like a small apartment in the photos.
The bathroom, for our use only, was on the same level as the bedroom (but didn't have a toilet). Towels were supplied and replaced daily.
After we had checked out she allowed us to leave our car there while we went for a bike ride and to come back and use the toilet before we actually left.
Supermarket is close. The city centre is a bit far, about 8km but a pleasant bike ride through the park (to the east) most of the way to the ferry. We thought that we had booked an independent apartment, due to our search, the price, and the photos. We were surprised and confused on arrival to find it was just a small bedroom in someone's house. Not what we were looking for. The price was more than we usually pay for a whole apartment or cottage in Germany, Spain, France, Belgium etc. But Amsterdam is expensive and the price is quite normal for Amsterdam, also the taxes are 25% for city tax and visitor tax which is enormous. They want to discourage tourists!
The shared toilet is down a steep stairway, a bit hazardous at night.
I think the posting should emphasis it is just a bedroom as reviews show that others have also been caught out. Also mention the stairs as they could be impossible for some. The small dog and the cat should be mentioned too, for allergy sufferers.
The hand written instructions on the alarm and entry to the house need to be written in Dutch and English (by an English speaker). As it was we couldn't understand it at all and had to ring Anya.
- Marina (4/5): Disappointing - Location, parking Very dirty, smell of dog poo, no heating when we arrived, separate toilet downstairs, police clock from midnight to 8:30 due to alarm settings
- Tone (8/5): We felt very welcome and had a comfortable stay. - The bed was comfortable, Anja had supplied all kinds of breakfast foods, coffee and tea, and we had a balcony and a shared garden to use. Anja was a very accommodating hostess. There was a nearby supermarket. I didn't know it was quite that far from the city centre, but on the other hand, there was good public transport connections. We couldn't find any restaurants and bars in the area. Also, the alarm was a bit tricky to deal with.
- Hejazi (5/5): Passable - Location It was uncleqr to us, what was our right to use.
- Rehina (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet neighborhood. In walking distance to stores and bus stop. Easy to get to the center. The hostess is very friendly and nice! In the room there were some nice gifts from her, we were pleasantly surprised It's a little dirty and dusty
- Henry (8/5): A cozy room and a good value . - Anya was a lovely hostess whom we did not see much. The room was not large but sufficient for us (2). We took a bus and train into Amsterdam to explore. It was a lovely home but the water closet was downstairs and the stairs between the two floors were something we were not use to and, for us, a little tough on the knees. It was chilly and wet weather and a space heater was what we used for warmth in our room.
- Bonastre (10/5): Everything was amazing, Anja was very welcoming and nice. I would definitely come back. - We liked that we had some food already available for us to eat in our room. It was helpful because we came quite late.
The place was veeeeery cozy and very well decorated. It had a very nice ambiance. The host was also very welcoming. I can't really say anything I disliked, honestly.
- Marko (9/5): Superb - Anja is such a loving and positive person. The accomodation is very secured and gives you a lot of sense of safety.
- Elena (8/5): Very good -
- Mireille (8/5): Host was very friendly and wanted us to enjoy our stay. - Easy commute into city center and proximity to food store. Quiet neighborhood. Charming atmosphere. Didn’t realize there was a cat that stayed at times in the house.
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional - Clean
The host is kind and available The house is far from the city center
- Aye (9/5): Superb -
- Gordana (7/5): Good - The host was caring & helpful. The shop & the bus stop were close.. The room was too crowded, would be lovely to have more free space.
- Lyn (7/5): Very pleasant home - It was a typical Dutch home with lots of ornaments and pictures of Amsterdam and Dutch life. Anya is a charming hostess and very generous, leaving a bottle of wine and snacks for us. The buses were very handy and frequent. There was very little space to put things (mainly because of all the ornaments and general clutter) and the toilet was downstairs, which was a great nuisance during the night because the stairs were difficult.
- Srines (10/5): 3N was Just too short, wish we spent more time, hopefully we’ll return to this home another time soon. - Beautiful Home. Madam is such a beautiful person and a great host. one can never dislike anything about this beautiful place
- Tom (6/5): lovely, authentic experience with a very accommodating host - lovely host, very clean, authentic look the alarm for the building was complicated to use, especially with it speaking Dutch instead of English. the host’s English was also limited which meant it was up to us to figure the alarm out.
- Kinga (9/5): Above the fray - Anja is a warm and funny host, she went above and beyond to make us feel at home away from home.
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Lane (9/5): Great affordable place to see Amsterdam from. - Cosy, comfortable and lovely host. The alarm system was a little bit of a pain.
- Ritesh (10/5): Awesome stay !! - The owner is very welcoming and made us feel very much at home. It's very good. I recommend.
- Roberto (10/5): best host ever - is in a quiet neighborhood, with supermarket and a bus stop really near cleaned
- Michael (10/5): Accessible, clean, simple and accommodating host - Anya was such a lovely host. Fresh sheets everyday, simple treats everyday and the room is cleaned daily. None- all good
- Sz (10/5): Exceptional - Cheese cracker and bottle of wine Toilets downstairs, narrow stairs
- Helen (5/5): Cheap and cheerful overnight city stay - Convenient location for access to ring road and also frequent buses into City centre: the helpful owner showed us how to do get there. She speaks only a little English but had written down the bus numbers etc for us so we could easily follow the journey plan. Characterful touches added to decor e.g. Dutch mementos. We stayed there during the heatwave - our room was in the top floor/loft of the house. The 'air conditioning' (portable machine) was ineffective and the bedroom fan was not working at all. There appeared to be another guest room in the loft, but it was not clear who else was in the home (possibly due to language difficulties) and so we felt that we could not leave the bedroom door open to get some cooler air. This all resulted in very hot and sweaty night's sleep. The only toilet that guests can use is on the ground floor, down a wooden curved staircase, but owner helpfully left light on which helped us negotiate the stairs. (Although the bathroom is in the loft area & has basin, bath and shower, there is no toilet in it. Maybe this could be made more obvious in Booking.com's description of the property?). One of the mugs left out for guest use had dirty debris in the bottom.
