• Ninaa.G (9/5): - Welcome and check in experience was great as we booked last minute. The bed was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and all the plants and decor made the cottage have a very cosy feeling to it.
• Patricia Cristiana (9/5): Nice place to stay and connect - Everything was good overall regarding the accommodation, and the location is convenient. Although the bathroom is not inside the room and is in a shared area, it is private. There is also a kitchen available. What I really liked was that we got to connect with other guests staying there. The internet worked well, Piri responded to messages promptly, and everything went smoothly. Lean also provided us with helpful information. Comfortable bed and a good experience. The only downside is the room’s size. It’s quite small which makes it tricky if you’re travelling with suitcases. While travelling with suitcases in El Chaltén is generally difficult, a backpack with fewer items would be a much better option. Overall: small room.

• Elena (8/5): - Die Gastgeberin hat uns gute Tipps gegeben. Das Zusammenwohnen mit anderen Gästen in den geteilten Aufenthaltsräumen war super für den Erfahrungsaustausch. Trotzdem waren Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer privat. Die Zimmer waren sehr hellhörig, aber die Gäste zum Glück ruhig. Das Bett in unserem Zimmer war zwar angenehm groß, aber es gab kein Nachtkästchen und keine Nachttischlampe neben dem Bett, weil die Nische zu eng war.
• Katherine (8/5): Memorable experience. - The location was perfect, being about in the center of town with easy walking distance to the trail heads. Check in and payment were made very simple by Pili, who did everything possible to make my stay pleasant. I was even lucky enough to have a view of Mt. Fitzroy from my room. Breakfast was not included but use of the kitchen was welcomed. Although, I had a private toilet and shower within a communal bathroom, it was downstairs on the first floor with my room on the second. It didn't pose any problems, but just unusual for me.
• Jesse (8/5): - The owner was very friendly. The house was pretty clean. The location was great. Sound travels through the walls. You can hear everything, every small noise, as if everyone was in the same room. The house should be rented as an AirB&B to one group and not to different groups based on the room. I agreed to pay $297 for three nights stay and was charged $323 and change. This was not an international fee, I paid that also, it was just the use of an improper exchange rate. The payment should go through Booking.com so the exchange rate is correct. Booking.com should not have people pay at the property.

• Susanne (9/5): Eine schöne Unterkunft mit einer perfekten Gastgeberin - Alles war liebevoll gestaltet, es gab lauter nette Kleinigkeiten wie Shampoo in der Dusche, Salz in der Küche und die Gastgeberin ist zuckersüß: sie hat mich mit diversen Informationen versorgt und mehrfach nachgefragt wie es mir geht. Dazu spricht sie super Englisch. Ich habe mich sehr sehr wohl gefühlt Die Treppe zu den Zimmern im 1.OG ist etwas steil. Das ist vielleicht nichts für ältere Personen.

• Maggie (9/5): Nice place in Chalten - The house is very clean, including sheets towels, bathroom and kitchen. The location is good, a block from the main street,but very quiet neighbourhood. It is only a 5 min walk to the bus station and just below the trail to Cerro Torre. The shared kitchen is very organized and has enough utensils to cook an easy meal. Showers have hot water and good pressure, but are tricky to set the right temperature. For the price in El Chalten it is a great deal, because the village is ridiculously expensive. Pili, the host, is amazing. She is very helpful and available for any questions. The walls between bedrooms are thin. We had quiet neighbours, so it was quiet at night. Also be aware that the private bathrooms are on the main level and all bedrooms are on the upper floor. Also, the private bathroom is a small room with toilet and shower, the private sink is in a communal space.

• Adam (3/5): Not great - The location was great and the bed was comfortable. My experience was disappointing overall. The bathroom was poorly designed, the wall was so close to the toilet that my girlfriend and I couldn’t sit down normally. The host consistently seemed rushed and short-tempered, which made the stay uncomfortable. The kitchen was small and overcrowded, especially with four couples staying in the house at the same time. Basic amenities were lacking: the towels had stains, there was no coffee available, and the overall level of comfort and care was well below expectations for the price. This was the most expensive booking of our 1 month in Argentina. What made this more frustrating is that I had a significantly better experience at our next accommodation (a hostel) where I paid roughly a quarter of the price. Compared to other accommodations I’ve stayed at in Argentina, this place offered far less value. In my opinion, it only makes sense to stay here if there are absolutely no other options available in the city. Another difficulty was the payment. I wasn’t able to withdraw enough cash from the ATM to pay the host. Which resulted in a total cost that was 10% more than the price on booking.com when I booked.

• Egle (9/5): Hostel muito bom - Hostel muito simpático e aconchegante, é uma casa. Vista do quarto e da sala são lindas. Super organizado o quarto e a cozinha. Banheiro com secador de toalhas.Localização ótima, próximo à mercados, padaria, restaurantes e trilha do paredão e Cerro Atenção da Pili foi ótima. Política de pagamento não é clara na Booking, e também não na propriedade. O cartão de crédito foi cobrado em pesos argentinos através de link, e não em dólares, o que acabou encarecendo o custo. Não sei dizer se haveria outra possibilidade, pois não perguntei à Pili. Escadas poderiam ter antiderrapante e corrimão até o final. Isolamento acústico deixa a desejar. Banheiro no andar inferior, há um furo na parede próximo ao chão onde passa o encanamento, isso provoca mau cheiro, acredito que foi um reparo não concluído.

• Facundo (8/5): Excelente para unos días de hike en el Chaltén! - La ubicación es bastante buena, cerca del "centro". Las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas, y los baños un poco pequeños pero tienen todo lo necesario. Pilar muy buena anfitriona, la vista del Fitz Roy es increíble. No es algo necesariamente malo, pero en mi caso booking me ponía un importe en dólares, pero se me terminó cobrando otro importe (superior).

Really you couldn’t wish for any more helpful and useful information for the area. Good kitchen and clean place. Can be heated nice and warm. Walls are quite thin so bring ear plugs. Bathrooms are downstairs which was fine for us but might be annoying for anyone who gets up to pee a lot at night.

• Anna (8/5): Goed gelegen woning met een gezellige huiselijke sfeer - Fijne ligging, goed contact met de host die ons ook ontving en tips gaf over hikes en dergelijke. Gehorig. Mensen die al heel vroeg op pad gingen, wat veel lawaai gaf, met name door de slaapkamerdeuren. En mensen die al rond 6 uur begonnen met werken in de woonkamer en een video call hadden.

• MARIA (10/5): Cinco buenísimos días en Yellow House - Yellow House es muy hogareño,con todo lo necesario para sentirse como en casa. Lo mejor en nuestro caso han sido las vistas desde la ventana del cuarto al Fitz Roy. En toda la casa había siempre mucha luz y calidez y los días de sol los disfrutamos mucho en el jardín con una cerveza o un café. Pili nos ha hecho sentir muy cómodas y nos ha ayudado en todo momento preocupándose de que estuviéramos bien y nos ha orientado para realizar todas las actividades que teníamos planeadas - trekkings, equitación, restaurantes buenos y supermercados.

Pili, the owner, was absolutely amazing and greeted everyone that checked in personally and gave tips for what to do in the area and where to find everything in town. The heating was perfect, and the shower seemed to have endless hot water - great after a day of hiking in the wind and rain!

• Carmen (10/5): Comfortable stay in El Chalten - We loved our stay at the Yellow House Cottage! Our room was big with a lot of storage space. The shared kitchen and sitting area were comfortable and clean, and had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. Although the bathrooms are downstairs, it was great to have a private bathroom so that you can leave your toiletries there. The living room was kept warm at all times, which was very welcome after cold and snowy hikes. Pili was a great host and gave us tons of information. Being there in low season means not everything is open, so it was extra valuable having her insights. The location is really central, with most things within walking distance. This wasn’t an issue for us as there weren’t many people staying, but I think the rooms can be quite noisy (we heard another guest cough, and then worried that we had actually been speaking too loudly), so bring ear plugs if you are a very light sleeper!

She suggested and booked a shuttle for us so that we could enjoy a long one way hike to Lago de Los Tres. Other guests at the Yellow House were interesting and considerate. This is a great location in Chalten with easy access to the most important trails.
• Tania (7/5): Great house for a short stay in El Chalten - The host was fantastic, and she helped with national park ticket info, restaurant recommendations, and other things. The room was cosy and the kitchen well-equipped with everything you need to cook meals. The other guests were sociable and we enjoyed eating meals together after long days hiking. The toilets are all within a shared bathroom that has separate closets that are designated for each of the 4 rooms in the house. The sinks are in the communal area shared by the rooms. The facilities would benefit from modernisation and a lock on each closet door.

Everything was clean, the house was warm, having individual bathrooms (though seperate from bedrooms) was nice. Location was perfect - easy walk to trails, shops and the bus station.

• Polyxeni (6/5): Pleasant - The apartment is expensive and overpriced like everything in El Chalten. Part of the earnings can definitely go into maintenance of the place. For example the shower heads in the bathrooms, the door handles for the rooms, some of the electric appliances in the kitchen and many more. The common areas are very small and uncomfortable and in case you get stuck in the house due to the patagonian weather, you will probably end up spending time in your small room.

Pili was the most incredible host, checking I was all OK and if I had questions. Kitchen was great for self catering.
• Fabiola (7/5): ok but not worth the price - very friendly host and nice common area - bathroom was supposed to be external but private, however it was actually downstairs and the sink was private but in a shared room with all the other guests - room was very small - heating in the common area could not be changed and was > 30 °C in the staircase just in front of the rooms - price is not the same as indicated on booking but the taxes - that are normally not for foreigners when paying by card - have to be paid (after discussion we found a way to not pay it via a link)

• Gee1998 (9/5): Would highly recommend, a lovely house - Pili, the owner of the house, is absolutely brilliant, she is so informative and enthusiastic. She is always at the end of a line on WhatsApp if you need her. If it wasn't for her advice we would not have been able to see Fitz Roy due to weather. The house is cleaned regularly, it is kept very warm, which is good for this area. The bedrooms (upstairs) are comfortable, each room has their own private bathroom downstairs. The kitchen is well equipped for what you need. Walking distance from the shops and restaurants, would highly recommend Occasional gas smell from the cooker - very minor

• Hsin (9/5): Superb - The staff is really considerate that she wanted me to send her a message everyday when I go out trekking to make sure I have back to the town. The house is impressive, kitchen has everything you need. 1-2 block from the main street. My room is facing the fitz roy side even you can not do all the trekking in winter due to the weather you can still enjoy the view. The Wi-Fi is not very stable and slow, so it is probably not recommended for people who want to work while traveling.

When we could not check in on the day of booking due to a transport strike, we were in constant communication with the host. Kitchen was very well stocked too. Felt right at home in this house. Heater in the room could be warmer as it got quite cold at night.

The bathrooms are downstairs, which is a bit inconvenient. Locks on the bathroom door would be appreciated. Only 1 person can realistically cook in the kitchen at a time. The weather was bad and we didn’t sleep properly for 3 nights because the roof was creaking so much. The curtains in our room didn’t cover the window so it was very light in the morning. The sofa downstairs needs a good clean.

Staircase is tight and may be difficult for some.
