Guest Reviews
- mile (10/5): - What we liked: We truly enjoyed our 6-day family holiday in Saranda, and this apartment played a big part in it. It was spacious, very clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The large terrace was perfect for spending time together, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, greeting us with refreshments on arrival and even surprising us with a cake during our stay. Overall, it felt like a very warm and family-friendly place. What we didn’t like: The only downside was the many stairs in the city of Saranda, which can be a bit challenging at times.
- Karolina (7/5): Started great, but ended up disappointing - The stay was generally pleasant-we had everything we needed, including basic cooking supplies (tea, salt, coffee, a bit of olive oil, few bottles of water in the fridge), The bathroom had a washing machine, hairdryer, and large bottles of shampoo and shower gel, which was a nice surprise.
We needed to climb a bit to find the apartment, but there is a short cut ( which is not showed on google maps) the owner showed it to us.
The AC was working very good as well. We stayed in this apartment for six nights. Upon arrival, the host offered us a 10% discount if we canceled our booking and paid in cash. We declined, as we prefer to have booking support for safety and security. We paid full price and asked for a bill.
On the 5th night, a section of decorative gypsum fell from the ceiling and injured my friend’s arm while she was sleeping. After this incident, we no longer felt safe, as similar panels were installed throughout the apartment, including above the beds. The host offered a refund for the last night if we left; however, since it was our final night and we had a flight at 5 AM, it was not easy to find alternative accommodation for five people at this price. Therefore, we remained in the apartment, taking precautions by moving the beds to the center of the rooms.
The host’s father was very polite and sincerely concerned about my friend’s injury. He disinfected her scratches and returned multiple times to assist us, such as showing us how to use the stove and restoring electricity after it was cut due to the use of kitchen supplies. He was extremely helpful throughout our stay.
After checkout, we received an email stating that our booking had been canceled, and that the host reported a “no show,” which is untrue. We were told this was done accidentally by the host’s mother, but given that the host had previously offered a discount to cancel the booking, it does not seem like an accident. This handling was unfair, as we had paid the full price, our stay was not counted toward our Genius Program benefits, and we received no compensation for the distress caused by the falling ceiling panels.
Overall, our stay in the apartment was okay , but the situation could have been handled far better, and the cancellation issue left us feeling treated unfairly.
- Megi (10/5): An excellent experience ✨ - Our stay at Aquatic Apartment was an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts, who were incredibly kind and always ready to help with anything we needed throughout our stay. The apartment was exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable, even for a longer stay.
The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning and made every morning feel special.
We highly recommend it to anyone looking to feel at home during their holiday in Saranda.
- Martin.sovic (10/5): Nice apartements on hill
in Sarande - Quit place for sleep. Comfortable beds. Parking for 2 cars in garage. 10 minutes down the stairs to main promenade on local beach. 2 separa
te bedrooms. -
- Davide (8/5): Very good -
- Eduard (8/5): Very good -
- Édouard (9/5): Very nice and accommodating. Absolutely great for a family - Absolutely clean, like perfectly. The location was good. We were on foot. Great hosts that gave us all we needed. You have to be in a good shape but this is the case for any apartment uphill. At the end of the street (when you leave the building, go right), you have an option to go down. Then all the shops and then beach are 10 minutes down. this is not specific to this establishment, we had to do it a lot in Albania : paying for accommodation in cash (and in euros above all) is a heavy burden for visitors to bear. If you count the fees to take out local money (800 Lek per transaction), the fees to have it exchanged into euros (commission and exchange rate); or the fees to take out euros in the only bank that offers it in Sarande (6€ per 200€), any self-respecting visitor would agree to pay a 3% fee for a credit card payment. I recommend establishments to offer this option for more peace of mind for the people who visit them.
