- László Nándor (8/5): - Ideal accommodation for a group of friends, with an extremely well-equipped kitchen. Several rooms, most with their own private bathroom. A bakery is nearby, and the locals will even bring fresh pastries in the morning if requested. An ideal location for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. In terms of value for money, the accommodation performed very well overall. Small details that could be easily improved with a little attention, and I believe from that point on it would be hard not to give a 10/10 rating. The rooms are really missing coat hooks, and stronger lighting would be needed in both the bathrooms and the rooms. The towels provided should be replaced. It didn’t bother us, but others might find it unusual that we were essentially living together with the very helpful family, as their daily life takes place right next to the entrance.
- Kai-brith (8/5): This is a cozy budget-friendly place with convenient location and good amenities. - It is a nice budget-friendly place for a bigger group. There is a ski bus stop for Line 1 (to Hochzillertal resort) about 60m from the property. Only a bit further (about 300m walk) is a bus stop for the 8330 line which connects to Hochzillertal, Zillertal Arena and Mayrhofen. Travel to Hochzillertal and Zillertal Arena is about 15 min, travel to Mayrhofen is about 30 min and travel to Hintertux Glacier is about 1h (change lines at Mayrhofen). We visited all these resorts via ski bus. It is quite conveniently located. The location itself is in a more residential area, surrounded by farms, etc. Due to this, it does smell like a farm in the area, but the smell was not present in the apartment itself.
The apartment kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to cook. There are 4 rooms: 2 with double beds, 1 with two single beds and 1 big room that can sleep up to 5 people. Both rooms with double beds have private bathrooms and there is 1 shower room with bath and 1 toilet in the common area also. There is a common room at the entrance and another common room that is connected to the kitchen. There is a large balcony with an amazing view.
There is a separate ski storage room that also had boot heaters! This was super useful for the ski trip. Overall, the place is very spacious and the rooms are well-connected, making it feel cozy and homey. Some of the rooms have super lovely ceiling windows!
The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. We were missing some bed linen and towels when we arrived, but the hosts provided these quickly. Also, there is a huge selection of piste maps and flayers about activities in the area, which can help you plan your stay and give some good last minute ideas. The cleanliness was perhaps the biggest shortcoming if you're picky. The apartment is in an okay condition, but the floors were dirty and there were some spiderwebs in the rooms.
The hosts understand some English but the communication was sometimes a bit rocky. You are definitely better off if you speak German.
While the apartment is located conveniently close to the ski bus stop, it is fairly far from the main ski areas of Zillertal region. The busses only run once an hour or once in two hours. As such, it is impossible to hit the first lift and we sadly missed the nice freshly groomed ski tracks in the mornings.
