Guest Reviews
- Kirsty (1/5): Misleading upfront cost - Nothing we couldn't get in The lack of transparency with needing a 350 deposit on the site when viewing from a android phone. It was in legal information at the very bottom and you had to click on the tab to see it. The lady was very unhelpful when I called her. She said I could cancel so I booked else where and then she has refused a refund.
- Deb (1/5): Never ever again! - The naked men walking around their balconies, in the apartments opposite!?!? If you like that sort of thing?!?! After paying $317 for one night for 2 adults and 2 teenage children, to say our stay at the Waterveiw was one of the most horrible experiences of my life, is an understatement.
Firstly, 1 day before our check-in date, we were slammed with another $350 request for a damage deposit. Yes, the policy states this is required, but 7 days before, not the day before. The policy also says to pay by bank deposit, the "host" requested pay ID... screams scam.
When I disputed this, the "host" refused to waive the fee based on her not honouring her own policy and my previous booking ratings, and while my friend and children sat in our car, she denied us access to the property and had us sit in our car for over 2 hours.
Booking.com were extremely unhelpful. We tried to cancel, but Booker beware, you have no rights. Only the "host" does.
After being forced to borrow and pay the extra money, we found our own way into the property carpark as the host was not responding to questions, there were no instructions on where to park, and then no instructions on how to get to the room. We had to ask a non-English speaking resident for help, when they came to go somewhere in their car.
Once they helped us, we entered the room to find an open bottle of wine in the fridge, crumbs from food in the draws, and put of date food in the cupboards from previous stay, there was mould, hair, and rust throughout the bathroom, half a roll of toilet paper and a second already used roll of toilet paper in the cupboard. The toiletries were previous stayers' soap, shampoo and conditioner. The sink doesn't drain and has a broken plug, so it doesn't work.
The apartment has one bedroom, with one bed, and two blow-up beds (one double and one single), which does not match the description to sleep 4 people, especially two adults and two teenage children. There was also not enough bedding to make up the beds.
- Kerrie (9/5): Clean, tidy, lovely home in central location with a lovely water view - It was great location to Sydney Olympic Park Nothing, it was lovely
- Maysoon (1/5): No - Not professional I make booking and pay money, then tell me the room not available
- Tarsh (3/5): Pretty disappointed. - The view and area was nice The communication was atrocious, we didn’t get our check in details until 30 mins past check in time - despite asking for early check in multiple times. This then caused us to be late for our event. Huge let down as we booked there to be closer, paid our nights stay upfront AND transferred a $350 security deposit without delay the day before.
The drains do not work so the shower floods, thus there is a huge flood in the bedroom from the bathroom. The carpet is soaking and it smells damp.
There was an ashtray full of cigarette butts left on the balcony. Lots of wear and tear - floor boards lifting, cleanliness was not great at all.
