Julian (10/5): Haus Margit Beautiful Alpbach. - Beautiful stay at Haus Margit. We had a very spacious 65 square meter apartment at the top of the house. With a big balcony on the front and also the rear. There is a parking area which is undercover, which is great in the winter as you don't need to scrape ice off your car. The apartment was beautiful and warm, with a large bathroom. The bedroom is on the front of the apartment with a very comfortable bed and the view from the front balcony looks onto Alpbach village and the surrounding ski area. The actual Haus is just round the corner from the main village, very close to Conny's Ski hire who incidentally are wonderful, this is where we hired our ski equipment. You are also close to the Spar supermarket and various restaurants in Alpbach. We ate a considerable number of times at Hotel Zur Post, which is just round the corner. They have a wonderful traditional dining room serving excellent Austrian wines and gastro style food, which I have to say was fantastic. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved it here and having stayed in Alpbach five times now, this was probably the best experience. Margit speaks very good English, as does her son, who greeted us on Christmas day afternoon to hand over the keys. Margit also did some laundry for us half way through our holiday, which was much appreciated. Nothing to report, we loved it here. If I was being super picky, I would say that the kitchen area is disproportionately small compared to the size of the actual apartment. For us this was not really a problem as we only prepared breakfast. However if I was preparing a large evening meal, I might of got a little frustrated.
