Guest Reviews
- mcmullen (9/5): - Fantastic location, lovely and clean, had everything we needed. The bed was like sleeping on a rock, very uncomfortable and the sofe was no better. They were the only thing we didn't like about are 6 night stay but sadly they were the most important
- Marlene (10/5): Clean, comfortable and great location for sightseeing in Sydney! - Very comfortable apartment and ideal location for seeing Sydney...there was building work going on outside but we were out all day and it was quiet when we got back! The apartment was spotlessly clean! The stairs in the lobby leading to the apartment was a bit of a challenge with heavy suitcases but we managed it!
- Greg (7/5): - Location No air con
Building noise
- Jeremy (6/5): - The location is excellent.
Overall the apartment is a good size and has Construction work right outside the bedroom window was very intrusive. We found it too noisy to be able to relax in the apartment between 7.30am and 5pm. The website description does say that "Certain rooms may be affected by noise" but this undertates the issue. It should be clearly stated in the initial description, not hidden away in the "fine print" that most people don't read.
The apartment is not air-conditioned which made it stuffy and difficult to sleep on warm nights. Air-conditioning is fairly standard inclusion these days, I would have thought. I couldn't find any information regarding this on the website. It might be there in the "fine print".
- Hutchison (8/5): - Building site out the back window
- Erica (8/5): Ideal location - The location was ideal. Walking distance to bars, restaurants and shopping. Views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. There were no screens on the windows and the mosquitos were relentless the first night. With the windows closed it was very stuffy. The fans helped a bit but not enough. Unit 7 is on the third floor and there is no elevator. We had to carry our golf clubs and suitcases up to the room.
- Estera (4/5): - The apartment was spacious and clean enough besides the cocroaches. The place has a problem with cockroaches- we had to kill 3-4 cocroaches a day.
When we addressed our concerns with the owner, they kept saying it is normal in this climate, and to use a shoe and move the cocroaches to the balcony. There were multiple roach sprays in the apartment, so it's obvious that it's a bigger issue.
Two taxi drivers picking us up recognized the place and told us horror stories of previous tenants- about old apartments and cocroaches swarming the place.
We tried solving this through Booking, but the owner was not responding to the Customer Service calls.
There is a loud construction side right outside of the apartment block, starting 7AM every morning (also on Saturday), making it impossible to sleep past that time due to old, thin windows- not ideal if you're on vacation.
We haven't used the kitchen as we were disguisted with the cocroaches, but I have checked the cupboards and drawers, to see an old, used sponge provided to wash the dishes, and utensils that were far off from being clean.
Definitely not what you expect for over 300 AUD per night (which, by the way was our most expensive accomodation in Sydney so far).
Not sure why, but there are no negative review on Booking, but if you check Airbnb and Google, you can see some horror stories from previous tenants of this apartment building.
- Phil (9/5): Great location, fantastic apartment - The location is amazing Nothing, fantastic stay
- Amanda (8/5): -
- John (10/5): A lovely stay - The property was extremely clean and really easy to find/enter with the clear instructions provided Nothing
- Graeme (10/5): Lovely apartment in the best location for exploring Sydney - Beautiful heritage apartment in fantastic location adjacent to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Everything in The Rocks, CBD, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour is just minutes away on foot. As many cafes and restaurants as you would possibly want at your doorstep. Very helpful host as well.
- Gary (7/5): Ideal apartment and location for 2 people wishing to explore Sydney without a car. - The location was excellent. A 5-minute walk to Circular Quay, nearest train station, tram and ferries. The apartment only had one small heater in the lounge. An additional heater for the bedroom would be ideal during winter months.
- liz (10/5): Great stay - location couldn’t be better - Great location - great property
- Jose (1/5): Not recomendable! NOT stunning! - Nothing! I felt scamed! Old building, 3rd floor, no elevator, no Air conditioner, small and hard bed, old simple windows, kitchen was not complete, 1 spoon, 1 knife. We left the apt after freezing 2 days and moved to an hotel, the owner wasn’t kind enough to let us in before 15hrs, although our flight arrived at 9:30am
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Overall, we had a fantastic time. Location and apartment was great. Hosts were very nice to deal with. Will definitely b - The location of the property was fabulous we were able to walk everywhere. Pubs, restaurants and transport all in 5-15 min walking distance. The apartment was well equipped with kitchen supplies making the stay very comfortable. As stated by the owners the property doesn’t have any parking, there are 2-4 hour parking spots in the street and a Wilson parking garage 10 minute walk ($70 overnight). The apartment is heritage listed and has beautiful high ceilings and no heating system caused it to be quite cold during our winter stay. Additionally, just be wary when booking that there is no free cancellation of the booking.
- John (9/5): Overall, a great experience with modern comforts in a well-situated apartment! - Great Stay.
The apartment is in a fantastic location—very convenient for exploring the area. While the building looks old from the outside, the interior has been beautifully renovated, making for an excellent stay.
The access system is high-tech, using a passcode entry. I found it easy to use, but for older guests, a video tutorial would be helpful to make the process smoother. Accessibility Could Be Improved.
One important note: the only access is via stairs, meaning there is no option for guests with mobility impairments.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Rhonda (7/5): Great place to stay if you want to experience Sydney on foot. - The proximity of this property was perfect for my trip to Sydney. Walking distance to circular quay, the opera house and Sydney Harbour bridge.
Everything was clean and plenty of room to spread out.
Comfortable bed too. Proximity to local pub meant it was very noisy at night…thankfully they closed at 10.30pm.
Noisy neighbours in the early hours on the Friday night/morning (2-4.30am). Felt like they were in my bedroom smoking and partying.
- Anita (8/5): Great location, local pub two doors up was friendly, nice and spacious, easy to access. - Location was excellent Couch was a bit so so
- Kathryn (10/5): Ideal Location - We relied on public transport and walked wherever we needed to go - very central to the Sydney CBD, the Rocks, Circular Quay & access to the Harbour Bridge walkway. Great little pubs and cafes in the neighbourhood all within an easy stroll. Swam at the netted enclosure at Barrangaroo which was at the end of the street. Would definitely stay here again.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renae (8/5): Fully equipped apartment in Fantastic location - Location, accessibility, roomy, kitchen amazing. Absolutely wonderful would stay there again and recommend to all my friends. Helpful staff in constant contact via email and more available and helpful than when you have staff onsite. It's pretty but more milk for tea and coffee please. Could only make 1 cup of tea for 2 people over the 4 days. Needed at least 4 times the amount if not double again. Dryer broken we reported it and they will fix for next person.
- Philip (9/5): Great location - Excellent location for the Rocks, Barangaroo and Circular Quay
- Clive (10/5): Really enjoyed my stay in Sydney and all it had to offer The apt was a perfect base - Location / Clean/ All appliances good working order I could only stay 1 week
- Tatjana (3/5): As above - The location Firstly , "Stunning Sydney Home 7" isn't "Stunning" in any way, the apartment was not cleaned well , all fitments, bathroom accessories, windows and other units were loose or broken, the whole apartment needs maintenance and its renovation is now dated, the unit is just poorly maintained, grubby and poorly cleaned, the biggest problem in this unit 7 is the lack of security, the front electronic door lock wouldn't even lock and the back door is not locked and the booking agent and owner didn't attempt to rectify this issue which meant we had to go out sight-seeing with the doors wide open, all very disappointing. The unit was way overpriced in its current condition, nothing like its "Creative Marketing" on Booking.com, nowhere near the $400 per night we paid,................. very disappointing and we would definitely not recommend this apartment in its current condition.
- Rieneke (10/5): great, would recommand! - perfect location and really big and nice apartment the weather was really hot so airconditioning would have been nice
- Candice (9/5): Embedded in old Sydney a short walk to Opera House , Barangaroo and Botanic Gardens - Historic, well maintained, perfect location nil
