Guest Reviews
- Md (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ricky (1/5): Disappointing. Different flat + issues with guests - As other reviews have mentioned, the two young women who manage the property (Nody and Hana) were very helpful and respond quickly to requests. I asked for some more spoons for the kitchen – and within an hour Hana was at the door with a handful of spoons! I asked for a coffee pot, chopping board and chopping knife, and again, within an hour Nody turned up with exactly what I asked for.
Every couple of days Nody would text me to ask if all was ok, which (after the mishaps of the first few days – see below) it usually was. They also arranged for me to check out late on my final day, allowing me to store my luggage and collect it again outside their usual working hours, which was very helpful. Flat is in central Downtown Cairo, good location. The flat I was given was NOT the property in the profile. It was shabby, less nice than the photos. And the profile said “air conditioned accom” but the flat had AC in just ONE bedroom, a fan in the other and no AC/fan in the kitchen/living space.
So despite arriving close to midnight I had to complain I was in the wrong flat. The manager said there was nothing they could do that night but we could sort it in the morning. So I spent a horrible first night feeling cheated and wondering if I should leave but then find myself homeless and looking for somewhere new.
The next day the manager showed me two other flats I could move to instead. One had AC in both bedrooms but would cost extra, so I took a flat with AC in just one room but at least newly decorated. I thought better to take it and avoid the stress of finding another place.
On the 4th day the manager visited and saw I had a guest. She got very angry, said I wasn’t allowed guests and shouted at my friend “You have to leave now!” She then called the owner, told him I had a guest, and forced me to speak to the owner to “explain myself” (LOL). The owner was at least calm but said that they needed a passport scan of any guest who visited for “security reasons”.
The experience of being “told off” by a girl young enough to be my daughter was very humiliating, esp. for my friend who I knew from 20 years ago. The whole point of a flat instead of a hotel is so I can have guests.
Although the manager said “guests are not allowed” this is not on the booking.com profile. You can’t impose new rules on people once they have paid and moved in. (The profile says “no hen/stag parties”, not the same as a single guest). Although the manager apologised “for being nervous” she maintained she was enforcing the flat owner’s rules. This spoilt the rest of my stay, as I didn’t feel comfortable having guests.

- Yemen (8/5): Perfect - The location was perfect. I will go there when I visit Egypt.electricity goes off for an hour and i go on stairs for seven stories otherwise i liked it Location. Simple
- Khelif (10/5): It was a nice stay - The location is in downtown, you have many shops nearby, The house was very clean The bathroom door doesn't close, I think it needs to be fixed
- Yasser (8/5): Pretty much worth its value. - Place is cheap, has all you need and it's in the middle of Maarouf, close to pretty much everything. Security is good, elevator only works using access keys, strangers can't use it. Neighborhood is a little dirty but that's Cairo downtown.
