Guest Reviews
- Laura (2/5): Feeling unsafe and scammed! - The actual apartment wasn’t too bad. Not great, cheaply done, but it was fine. Lots was wrong:
The location of the apartment wasn’t as expected and I do not think was adequately highlighted in booking.com. The apartment was not on Queen Victoria street as expected, but in Lombard Lane, a good 15-20 mins walk away from where I expected and some way from Mansion House tube. In addition I had to wait about 15 mins in the dark, in a lane, without much lighting to get the keys. It was very unsettling and not appropriate for lone women.
The apartment wasn’t too bad, but the block and landing was filthy, with insect traps on all landings. In addition the landing lights did not work and I felt quite unsafe:
I had one towel for my body given for three nights.
It should also be noted that there are excessive penalties associated with this apartment. £50 if you want to check in after 8pm. £200 if you lose keys, additional fees if the apartment takes too long to clean after your stay. A complete scam!
I won’t be staying at these apartments again and I do not believe the should even be allowed on booking.com.

- DANIEL AUGUSTO (9/5): Recomendo para famílias, tudo muito organizado e tranquilo. Foi nossa primeira experiência nota 10 - Localização, atendimento inicial e super tranquilo...
- Ales (1/5): MOUSE IN APARTEMENT - Overall very bad experience. Apartment Globe View is not as shown on pictures and has very little closet space. But this is minor compared to the overall experience. Same review was sent to owners privately - again with no response.
1. MOUSE
In the apartment!! Owner did absolutely nothing about it. We could not sleep and we felt very unsecure. No concrete response and solution was offered from the owner, which is unacceptable.
2. MOLD
Bathroom had horrible smell of mold that is also visible on shower curtains and walls. Very unhealthy, unsafe and unsanitary. Bathroom was not pleasant to use and it was disgusting.
3. PAYMENT
Very suspicious situation with additional request for payment via unverified online sites. Thankfully we contracted Booking that instructed us to not pay even though we were threatened that our booking would be canceled less than a week before our trip.
4. RESPONSIVENES
Never have I been in a situation where booked apartment would feel so unsafe. Bare minimum would be a fast response when issue with mouse was reported. Not only did owner took more than 12 hours to responde, he also did absolutely nothing. "We are sorry" is not solving the problem and it is unacceptable to not provide safe solution. We could not sleep and were greatly distressed after we found mouse in bedrooms and kitchen.
To conclude we would not recommend this stay to anyone. Not sleeping and being concerned about personal belongings in apartment being destroyed by rodents and mold is greatly ruining a vacation experience.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Only complaint is the bathroom lacks hooks and the shower lacks a shelf. Otherwise small but clean and well laid out. Staff immediately fixed a problem with the bathroom door when we told them about it. Excellent location for the circle line which we used every day. Grocery store within walking distance. Quiet area so for rest and sleep excellent.
- Lorna (9/5): Superb -
- Lorna (8/5): Very good -
- Samia (9/5): Excellent - N/A Needs more blankets
- Aulay (9/5): Superb -
- Martina (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (7/5): Ok, £268? Too much - Location great and it is a large apartment Bathroom is old, sink plug horrible, shower really rubbish. Waited quite a while to get let in. Checkout with keys needs some attention as it’s not possible to lock the apartment with the keys inside.
- George (9/5): Great location. Well recommended. - Location. Good service for delivery of key, etc. Written instructions on how to hand back the key would have been helpful.
- Robert (5/5): Communication (email response and phone call) was sub par, apartment is older but good location. - The late late notice of exact apartment location made it stressful to plan arrival activities and what to do w luggage. Communication was difficult and slow responses from / with host management. Did not get extra towels as requested in early email communication. The host would be better off saying they can not accommodate an early check in verse stringing customer along that it may be possible so alternative plans can be made.
- Nawal (1/5): Don’t stay here whatsoever and trust the reviews. The pictures they have is NOTHING! Like the flat we stayed in’ - Literally nothing. I should’ve trusted the reviews. I have no idea how this place got 7 reviews. The bathroom was filled with mould and the shower shower was rusty we all felt disgusted every time we had to shower. The electricity went off twice everything was just awful and it isn’t worth the price!! The bathroom was moldy. It smelled so bad. The shower splatted everywhere. It was very difficult to turn the shower on because its was rusty! One fan didn’t work. It is nothing like the pictures. We were shocked! Even the “sofa bed” didn’t pull out. And the bed was so uncomfortable. The bed sheets had BLOOD on them and it was on the first floor so it was sooooo noisy we never got got night sleep. The electricity went off twice!! While we were doing our laundry and had the fan on. It was mad. And the property manager replied so slow when the electricity went off it was the worst place I’ve ever stayed in.
- Christiane (6/5): Pleasant - The location was excellent. Walking distance to several places, including underground (circle and district line) The terrible smell of smoking inside of the apartment, all over the carpet. I did complain and asked to change apartment but they didn't seem to care. I also had difficulties with communication with them. They brought air freshener and that's it. My son had to take antialergic medication to breathe better at night. Now even my clothe stinks like cigarette.
The apartment was also missing a lot of amenities including a kitchen cloth, paper towel, large mugs and good knife for bread. The towels smelled bad as well, unfortunately.
- Mica96 (7/5): Nice and clean apartment - The apartment was clean and nice. The location is excellent. The host was nice and communication was great.
Some nice touches such as tea and coffee supplied, soaps and shower gels too. When we arrived, we had to wait for half an hour to get the keys, even though we arrived after check-in time.
There were bad smell from the toilet.
The sofa bed is very uncomfortable.
- Maurizio (9/5): Viaggio a Londra con appartamento a Mansion House - I really liked these characteristics:
-The flat is comfortable, in a really quite zone.
-The position of the flat is very strategic to visit London: it's near to Mansion House underground station, it's close to City and to S.Paul cathedral, it's close to Millennium bridge on the Thames. Fantastic!
-There are enough nearby markets to go food shopping. Two details:
-When we arrived, we had to wait for one hour at the established point (the Globe View). We arrived in advance, to be honest, but the problem was that the concierge of that building was very annoyed about our presence there. It wasn't welcoming at all: it didn't provide us any information, it didn't show us how to use a toilet (after a trip, we can agree everyone needs it). He was rude. This aspect should be improved, in my opinion: it is very important to have an effetive communication from you.
-When we arrived, there's no hot water because the boiler was off, so we had to wait an hour to have a shower. It can happen, but for a traveller it is an important detail.
- Kirstin (10/5): Exceptional - location was excellent and the keys were dropped off quickly with great communication. The property was spotless and perfect for my needs
- Precia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eufrocinia (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (8/5): Very good - Very convenient location for downtown London. A more automated check in / key exchange, but, otherwise great.
- David (7/5): only issues was key handover and needing to arrange a time to meet which is difficult due to work -
- Christopher (7/5): Very pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. - My expectations were pretty low given the relative cost to other places in London. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by the apartment. It was big, clean and some nice touches such as tea and coffee supplied, soaps and shower gels too. Can't ask for more. Maybe not the most central location but you are given full details about the location when you book so no reason to complain. Was kept waiting a little bit to be let in but that's about all.
- Michaela (8/5): Great little apartment in the heart of the city. - Great location, nice apartment. Good little kitchen. Hosts were very communicative and resolved issues quickly. Had a few issues with windows; one wouldn’t shut (but host came and sorted it) and one didn’t seem sound proofed. Towels smelled a bit funny.
- Vanessa (9/5): Nice stay in a nice location - Good location - close to St. Paul’s Cathedral
Kitchen has all appliances needed Bedroom lights didn’t work as well as heater
- Dariusz (8/5): Good choice, definitely would take the apartment again. - Perfect location in the center of London. Apartment really big, with separate living room allowing a lot of privacy. Very punctual transfer of the keys. Apartment well equipped, close to shop and metro station. Information about the keys pick up. Initially was not sure about the process, but finally all worked perfectly well.
- María (10/5): very nice apartment, with all that you need for your stay -
- Victor (8/5): Good stay for 4 close to blackfriars station. - It was close to the blackfriars tube station. Complete facilities washing machine ,fridge, refrigerator, iron. The heating was very good. It’s close to minimarkets in our way back home from the tube station. I just discovered the address 3 days before arrival. And was different from what they show on the map here on Booking. I’ve chose the location close to the mansion house station and have the surprise of a different location.
- Bernis (9/5): Superb -
- Marina (10/5): Perfect apartment, located centrally! - The flat is gorgeous and exceptional for the price! We all loved it. The lady that showed us in was lovely. Everything was great! The communication before arrival was not that good. They don’t usually answer messages on booking. The address was not the same as it was in the maps! But it’s a 10-20 min walk away, if they haven’t fixed the location on booking yet!
- Richard (7/5): Late change to location rescued by no 26 bus only 50 yards away - Neat Cold bathrooms
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Shatish (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was spacious and the building had a lift! There are no bad comments. It was excellent!
- Pauline (1/5): Absolutely horrified - I have complained, this apartment is covered with mould and electrically unsafe, uncovered smoke alarms and illegal. Everything, unsafe and disgusting. Awaiting urgent responses to my complaint and have asked to see electrical certificates
- Christina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Catalina (1/5): Rude staff, dirty and not totally equipped - - The worse accomodation experience that l had during my Europe trip.
We coordinated the time I would arrive. Clearly I didn't know exactly what time I would be at the address of the accommodation because the airport is quite far away and my family and I took the train, so I gave an approximate time and let them know what time I was taking the train (to the person who was in charge of giving me the keys to the apartment, Kamil)
Leaving the train station we walked with all the suitcases towards the apartment, we were lost because the path is confusing and the direction unclear, while we were walking this person started calling every 10 seconds and we couldn't answer the whole time since it was raining and we only had a cell phone with internet. It turns out that when I answered, he started yelling at me saying that he called me and I hadn't answered (we came from a big trip, we had already agreed on the time and we didn't have a signal everywhere, and it was our first time in the city).
I found it disrespectful that he spoke to me like that, he told me that he was in a hurry and had to go to other places, that I had to have fulfilled my commitment since I told him I would be there between 5-6pm approx and I finally arrived at 6.10pm But he wasn't there and I told him that I didn't know how long it was going to take me but I told him the time I took the train. He was not empathetic, understandable or professional.
When he finally appeared at the hotel holding company, his character changed automatically since he was smiling and trying to be friendly, but he smiled fakely and tried to explain everything to us in 1 minute, speaking super fast and you could tell that he wanted to leave soon.
That same minute, he realized that the bathroom didn't have toilet paper and asked me to go buy it because he didn't have time, otherwise a lady would come the next day, a shame.
- Nick (6/5): Average. Great location, nice and quiet but tired and needs to be refurbished from top to bottom. - Location was great. Easy to check in. Good facilities in apartment. Apartment was very tired. Carpet was stained and dirty. Owner certainly not spending the £100 cleaning fee between visits! Bed was not comfortable.
- Anonymous (10/5): I was a great experience at apartment feel like a home - First of all the staff is so helpfull , property is near the london eye and all tourist destination , clean, spaces all essentails items available. Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Homey place to stay in london and near to tourist attraction - The apartment really comfortable. The staff is friendly. This is the place that I need to stay little longer in london. I can wash my clothes (there is washing machine), I can cook simple food (microwave available), not worry about the access since the place has elevator. The location near st.paul london eye and any other touris atraction. Borough Market just walking distance from this place. If you want to sight seeing this place can be a good choice - location beside westin hotel. For the bed just ok and the shower if possible can fix to add more water pressure (but not a big deal). I left some hanger to dry the clothes hopefully can help your next customer to dry more clothes. About the late check out, the staff gave me flexible time as long as didnt bother the cleaning lady. We love this place and recommend to people travel with kids to stay here.
- Oskar (8/5): Great loc location - Great location and equipped with all you need for a short or longer stay The bed was quite hard
- Natalie (4/5): Check in was awful the poor guy who was checking is running all over London trying to check people in which meant we had - Location was good for what we needed The apartment was run down and needs some work to get it to a good standard.
- Kelly (10/5): location perfect for what we needed! - everything was spot on!! its brill value for your money! nothing
- Michael (9/5): We hope we’ll be back! - Very spacious, great central location. Extra toilet most convenient! Super pub three doors down for the end of the day.
The host was really welcoming, helpful and courteous. Some of the fittings (cupboard knobs and the like) need tightening up. A minor detail!
- Adeeb (1/5): save your money do not rent it is filthy and molded, it took them 2 days to fix the toilet. - keeping the address hidden cost me over $200 extra coming from the airport to find the location , we had to take two taxies , address sent to my address while I was airbourne.
not in the booking reservation
- Jennifer (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Laura (10/5): Great Location and Great staff - Great Location and Great staff
- Angel (7/5): Too small.... - The building was very nice and It was close to restaurants. The apartment was too small. The bathroom sinks were very uncomfortable. They only gave us two bathroom tissue rolls for a family of 4 for a stay of 5 days. It was very noisy after 9 pm.
- Livio (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laura (1/5): Bad - I was unable to stay as the property location did not match that given at the time of booking. I am still awaiting my full refund which I have been assured by booking.com customer services I will receive. This should have been refunded immediately.
- Stuart (8/5): really enjoyed our stay at Mansion House Apartments. It is a comfortable apartment in a great location. Would stay there - it was a great size and in a great location. didn’t like the lack of security. the windows didn’t lock.
- Reece (9/5): Superb -
- Leonids (4/5): Disappointing - location awful smell, outdated furniture
- Sarah (9/5): central location - location kitchen- mugs , tea towel needed.
- Syanne (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Rajdeep (7/5): Review for a 2-bed apartment on Shaftsbury Avenue - Location was excellent. We stayed in a 2-bed on Shaftsbury Avenue, close to Trafalgar sq, Covent garden etc. Noise from kitchen which made sleeping difficult on first night until we realized that the kitchen door needed to be shut.
There were bad smell from the toilet from next day but we stayed for three nights. Had we stayed longer we would have asked for help.
In general the facilities were a bit run down.
- Karen (7/5): Good - Spacious apartment in the heart of London, very close to everything. Small note: the communication surrounding the location was a bit unclear/confusing (booking site did not show exact address) but overall great value for money and very good location. There were not enough towels and toilet paper rolls for four people.
- Susan (7/5): Good location and price for the location - Good location, met by the agent. Not enough towels there was only 1 towel per person and they were not over generously sized, nothing to towel dry our hair. The sofa bed was not made up and no instructions were given as to how it opened out. There was some tea and coffee sachets but no milk! So couldn't have a hot drink as there were no shops local to the apartment.
- Parvez (8/5): Very good -
- Ana (9/5): Superb - Location and very nice place. Good value Issues with check in. Host was reaching us at our US number which we did not have and we tried calling several times the number given with no response. We also wrote in booking app. Eventually we were able to reach him and get in. No issues other than that
- Magdalena (8/5): Very good - Helpful personnel, excellent and safe location.
- Dariusz (8/5): Very good -
- Svetlana (6/5): The stay was ok, but not perfect - Location
Lift
A lot of space for 1 bedroom apartment Furniture not very comfortable
Not very clean kitchen
- Julie (9/5): Nice and clean, very comfortable and just what we were looking for a last minute booking in London. - The gentleman who met us with the key was very helpful and prompt. We booked super last minute so there was a bit of confusion connecting with him but after we did he was a gem. We appreciate the quick turn around as our sudden change in plans to stay in London over night made us a bit worried about finding suitable accommodations. It was great.
- Elizabeth (8/5): It was a very good stay in a lovely location. - Super location for the City. Comfortable and warm apartment with a lovely inner courtyard featuring water and plants. The shower wasn't working well. Would have liked a second pillow to sleep on.
- Donald (7/5): Good - no hot water
- Nick (1/5): Dreadful - location was good it was shabby, tired and much smaller than advertised. The photographs on this site, including the ones that came with my booking, bear no relation to the reality. Be warned! I contacted Polka who said they had nothing else available that night. I was given an email address to complain to. I sent pictures etc but to say, a week on, I haven’t had even the courtesy of a reply. Avoid these people at all costs
- Jaroslaw (10/5): Great place for stay with a family. - All was perfect. Great location. All was perfect.
- Elizabeth (1/5): ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE - I phoned and emailed to gain access to the property but heard nothing. I can only assume they overbook the apartments and so that's why I couldn't stay. I spent an hour with my 12 year old daughter trying to find the location. The apartments are not at the postcode given. It was horrendous. I had to spend over £530 getting last minute accommodation on Airbnb. Please don't book with this company/person.
- Jasmine (9/5): Superb - The owner was really friendly and available. He went through the contract with us and gave us his completely availability.
The location was clean and well furnished.
The position is perfect since it is in the city center and there are two metro stops near by and several place where to eat or buy food.
- Jfoll1 (10/5): Perfect property - Convenient location. Very clean. Good communication between the host and ourselves. The flat is set in a private block with a beautiful courtyard which was lovely. Amazing value for money - worked out significantly cheaper for five people than getting decent hotel rooms would be. Nothing
- Natwadee (7/5): Good -
- Watto's (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warisara (10/5): Superb!! - It was a wonderful trip to stay at this place. The staff was super nice, the room was clean, and it was a convenient to travel around. nothing
- Kevin (8/5): Good apartment, outstanding location. - Host was on time and efficient. Hot water took a little while to get working.
- Cinthia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pam (8/5): Turned out very well. - Space and facilities were good. To first-timers to booking the apartment system, we found this confusing and maybe a cause for anxiety- We had not realised that the exact location was not where I first googled,, and without smartphones, the instructions on the email that I would be contacted re handover felt unsettling. However, someone answered the phone and was helpful when I called to query, someone was there to welcome us, show us round and give us keys. Global View was very close to the Painters Hall where we were going for a banquet in the evening - although the 72 steps up and over the road were a little daunting for arthritic knees. I would definitely book this again however for similar events in this area, and enjoy with greater ease now that we know what to expect.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Leanne (4/5): Smelly with broken shower and need to provide a passport photo - Safe, secure location. Kitchen available. The en suite shower was very obviously broken. The shower head had to be held by hand.
There was also a step up into the shower that was over a foot tall, which would be an issue for some people to get out of.
Overall, the apartment smelled musty and damp
Didn't like that I had to give a complete stranger (the person who gave me my apartment key) a photo of my passport. This was booked through booking.com. If there were any issues, they should be resolved through booking.com. I can't see any reason to have my passport.
- Rocio (4/5): 45min late to pick up the key, unresponsive owner. - the flat was nice Getting the keys for the apartment was a stress because the property was unresponsive, several emails, calls and WhatsApps and no reply. Booking.com had to call them twice. Even when the pick up time was arranged, they were 45min late and mentioned “it was not their fault” Waste of time and energy, unnecessary stress.
- Breda (9/5): Fab apartment - Beautiful large apartment. No 11 bus to all major sights outside door. Fab location, quiet and so comfortable with all amenities...impressed Sink was blocked in kitchen
- Debo-14 (9/5): Superb - It's a superb facility in a superb area. Check-in was pretty straightforward as the staff was messaging as we were on our way, and he was already waiting for us when we got there.
My wife and kids really loved the experience and are looking forward to our next visit to London and hoping we would be able to secure the same place.
- Javier (2/5): Bad quality of service - The location is not Oxford Street as they advertised at Booking, even the district wasn't bad at all. Bad quality of service. When I sent many emails and notifications they didn't reply.
I'm still waiting an invoice because we had a business trip.
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (9/5): Perfect for a family in London - We loved this apartment. It was very convenient to get places from here and for the value it was unbeatable.
- Georgina (1/5): we arrived at the postcode given, someone was supposed to meet us, we called and messaged the host, she replied at one p - didn’t get to see it! again…didn’t get to see it!
- Evans (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (5/5): Okay - It was in a decent location for sightseeing.
Close to a tube station. Too close to a busy road and pedestrian traffic - on the ground floor facing the city. Very little sound proofing. No black out curtains
- Hendrik (8/5): Fine apartement, great host - Host was very kind and flexible, location central Directly next to busy street
- Aine (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good -
- Kamuran (7/5): Good - unfortunately, there were no toilet rolls available.
- Russell (2/5): Very poor -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moylan (10/5): brilliant - the location and how big the apartment was only having 1 key
- Rajeev (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location. Quick check in and check out. All the required appliances. Great for a family.
- Warrington (8/5): Great location - Great communication, price and location. Would certainly recommend, especially for a small family. Nothing
