Geoffrey (3/5): Essentially just a bed for the night to enable us to travel to the locations we wished to visit. As such not great valu - Not a great deal to like. Quite a sterile property and not really in Maida Hill. More like in Kensal town nearby to Maida Hill and nowhere near Maida Vale! With the true location acknowledged, the two positives were the nearby shopping strip with two supermarkets and lots of (largely ordinary) takeaway food outlets. The property was relatively clean, not spotless but better than many in the UK. Three key things on arrival: 1. No brochure outlining the features of the property and how things worked and suggestion for where to eat/shop/visit 2. Hot water switched off with no indication how to turn it on 3. Refrigerator turned off and again, no information how to turn it on. In relation to the latter two points, we worked it out eventually by tinkering with the switchboard. Whilst it worked for us, it should not be left to guesswork and must be viewed as potentially quite hazardous, far beyond the realm of responsibility for incoming guests unless clear instructions are provided.
