• YUEQI (10/5): Tasteful vacation apartment - We absolutely like this little warm tasteful apartment with so much facilities and items. The host was very nice walking us through everything in-person and prepared toiletries per request. All packed with a washing machine and even a dryer (big bonus!). We were catching a late flight from Dubrovnik and the host was very kind to facilitate us with a couple of more hours stay. Besides the great hospitality, the apartment was 5 mins walk distance to the old town, also another 5 mins walk to the nearest beach (which was just located at the back door of the garden) and we didn’t have to drag our suitcases up and down the stone roads. It was just a few steps behind the main road. The decor in the apartment was really thoughtful and full with taste. We could see how the owner put efforts in making this a home style vacation apartment. The room provides everything - coffee machine, many towels for changing, seasonings for cooking etc. .

• Edith (10/5): The location of the little place is the best, right next door to the beach, you are in 5 minutes of restaurants, and the - It location was amazing so close to everything. The place is small and it has a nice outside area to relax in The living area was a little small, but for us we did not spend a lot of time in the property so it was fine for us

• Rebecca (9/5): Clean, quiet and close to everything - Perfect, peaceful location a short stroll to Old town and a couple of steps to the beach. Lovely size bedrooms and fabulous hot shower. Beautiful garden area with chairs & umbrella and enjoyed listening to the sounds of small kids from the kinder next door. Kitchen area tended to smell of cigarette smoke every time we entered the apartment, and often in the corridor outside the apartment. We did notice an older resident walking around smoking in the corridor, so perhaps the smoke ventilation wasn’t great and entered apartment. Some type of freshener spray or smelly candles would be nice to freshen up the place. (We are just not used to cigarette smoke in Australia, so it took some getting used to). Apart from that, nothing to fault.

Hay supermercado (pequeño) al lado y la parada del autobús también. Los propietarios son encantadores, nos ayudaron en todo momento. En el menaje faltan unas tijeras! No sabía que las necesitaría tanto hasta que no las echas en falta. Buscamos un bazar para comprar unas pero no encontramos.

• H (10/5): Stunning views and warm hospitality. - Absolutely loved our stay in Dubrovnik. The Airbnb was spotless, comfortable, within walking distance of the local bus stop and perfect location to explore the historic Old Town. You had access to your own outside dining area and pebble beach to relax by the sea. Host was helpful, highly recommend.

• Lorraine (4/5): Amazing location, disappointment for everything else - Ok first off the location is fabulous … we totally get the almost perfect reviews this place has, because we couldn’t have asked for more location wise. On the map it looks a little way out from the old town, but we counted, 5 minute walk (and one of us has a walking stick!). It was incredible to be away from the chaos and hustle and bustle of the old down so this was a big plus for us. There’s also 2 little bars and beach area which gorgeous views of the sea, just across the little street to the back. (Tip… don’t go to the first one, it’s more expensive and not as good … go to the one on the second set of stairs called “people are strange bar”. It was great!). There were some insect repellent plug ins in the drawer which we weren’t sure if they were left by previous guests or the owner, but we used them as we’d discovered there are mosquitoes galore in Croatia - so that was a plus too and we think it helped keep the bites down (in the apartment at least). Unfortunately, the location just didn’t make up for negatives we experienced. The was so much noise in the evening, from the residents stomping and banging and running up and down the corridors on the floors above, going for hours and well after midnight and into the early hours. Same again in the morning, the apartment is in the same courtyard complex as a nursery/kindergarten, so from about 7am all you’ve got is squealing. Unfortunately this massively impacted how comfortable the apartment was for us as these times were when we were actually in the apartment! Comfort wise, the beds were just awful, hard and very low to the ground, with the bed frame sitting almost above the mattress level, so you hit the backs of the thighs harshly if you didn’t get on the bed in a funny manner. Sheets were ok, if a little scratchy. Don’t be fooled by the photographs either when it comes to lounging space, especially the first one with the outside seating (which is lovely assuming no one else is sat in your seating or using your washing line to dry towels!) - the apartment has no lounge area, just a half futon that was not pleasant to sit on, and a table with 4 chairs too large for the space and completely impractical. We ended up sifting on our beds to wind down at night after coming back to the apartment. Although not inaccurate we felt the claim of air con a little misleading as there’s a unit in the main area but not in the bedrooms, so if you wanted any cool air to possibly trickle through, you had to leave your bedroom door open, which when you’re sharing an apartment isn’t your first choice! Also, randomly, the apartment didn’t have any scissors, which we found strange and irritating as we needed some! Amenities wise, would have been nice to have been left milk, juice, coffee etc, which we’ve had in other places on our Croatia travels (not a major thing just a nice touch), there weren’t any bathroom supplies other than toilet roll, no hair dryer.
• Heidi (7/5): Lovely break at Mediterranean Garden Apartment - The location is perfect. When you arrive, ask the taxi driver, to drop you at the Hilton Hotel car park. Directly across the road is a step free path (street) and your apartment court yard door is less than a minutes walk. There are two courtyard doors. The door on the other side is across from the gateway that leads to the small beach and 2 bars. Location wise this place is perfect. You are 5 minutes walk from the old town and again you can get there step free. The apartment is like in the pictures. There isn't a living room. The kitchen, dinning and living is all in the same place. This was fine for the 3 of us, as we are out most of the time. We did nip back for a seista ( and toilet) everyday before dinner as it was so close. The beds are all singles which is in a double bed wooden frame, so you can't move this around. The bed mattresses are quite firm. There isn't direct access to the patio area. You have to leave the apartment to access this but its 30 seconds down the corridor. Overall we had a really good stay here and would stay again. The locations is key with the property. Mattress was too firm for me, but this is a personal choice. I did sleep fine on it. The bedframe is at the same height as the mattress, so you have to be careful getting on the bed to not bang yourself on the frame.
