• Jayme (9/5): A magical stay in Rome! - Luigi was a wonderful host! He communicated with us promptly and even met us at the property early in the morning when we arrived to store our luggage until check-in, and was very responsive to our questions during our stay. The apartment was lovely, clean, and well-stocked with snacks and treats. There was plenty of room for our family of six, and the colosseum views were incredible. We enjoyed walking for morning coffee and dinner in the surrounding neighborhood. The general area was louder than we expected, with people partying and playing music outdoors throughout the night. We tried our best to drown it out with white noise played on our phones. (This is not a reflection on the wonderful property itself; just something to note about the busy area near the colosseum).

Colosseum view, Metro across street & restaurants & markets short walk nearby. Clean, comfortable for 2 middle aged couples. All necessary comforts provided. Host met us for check in and check out. Area map & recommendations provided along with a bottle of champagne, pastry, snacks, water, juice, etc. washer and dryer was a plus! Would recommend and book this place again! Nothing

• John (10/5): Beautiful apartment right in the middle of historical Rome. - Amazing location. Beautiful apartment. Lovely view of part of the Colosseum and Roman Forum from all bedrooms with windows open, when closed one room has no view of colosseum but a mirror has been cleverly attached to an outside shutter so you still have a decent view of it. Decent eating at reasonable prices along the bottom floor. Metro nearby. Lovely owners met us outside to welcome us in right on time, helped us up to the apartment and gave us a tour. Nicely stocked with some essentials like TP, towels, shower gel, shampoo, eggs, milk, OJ, bread, and even a nice cake amongst other things. Washing machine and dryer available though we didn’t use it. After tackling a few steps there is a small but decent lift available to all floors, perfect for luggage and my elderly father. Air con in the bedrooms seemed to work fine but wasn’t that hot when we stayed (early May). Would definitely stay again! Other than the shower by the kitchen leaking onto the floor a little bit when in use, the place itself was perfect. The windows are well soundproofed but can still hear light chatter till the early hours. However this is a very busy and popular location over the road from the Colosseum so that’s to be expected of course! Light sleepers may want to pack earplugs though if getting an early night.

They let us drop our bags early (much needed coming from a red-eye flight!) The tvs were old and all in Italian shows, would have been nice to have an updated tv we could connect our phones to for streaming after a long day in town!

• Blanca (10/5): Amazing location and thoughtful hosts. 5 stars!!! - Perfect location, clean apartment and courteous hosts. When we arrived we were met by the hostess and everything was as advertised. The apartment is clean and our sweet hosts left us prosecco, eggs, deli meats and cheese, bread, bottled water and sweet bakery treats. It was so thoughtful and very appreciated! The beds were comfortable and the apartment included amenities like toothbrushes, hair dryers, flat and curling irons, washer and dryer. The kitchen was well stocked to include olive oil, balsamic, spices, dish cloths and plenty of dishes and accessories. There were umbrellas (which came in handy) and lint rollers too. 5 star hotels have left us disappointed and we highly recommend these hosts The only thing that needs to be changed or cleaned in the apartment is the shower head in the bathroom closest to the bedroom. I believe it has some buildup that caused the water to trickle down, as if there was a lack of pressure. It wasn’t a big problem, we just used the other shower.

We spent two nights here over New Year 2026, a moment already charged with celebration and this place made it exceptional. Mr. Luigi’s generosity deserves special mention. He warmly welcomed us with an abundant spread of food and wine, a gesture that felt less like hospitality and more like being received into a Roman home. His kindness set the tone for our entire stay and made us feel genuinely cared for. The apartment itself is elegant, immaculate, and thoughtfully arranged, offering both comfort and character. What elevates it further is the location astonishingly close to the Colosseum. To be able to step outside and find oneself face-to-face with such a monumental piece of history is a privilege few accommodations can offer. Celebrating the New Year in such proximity to Rome’s timeless landmarks, then returning to a peaceful, beautifully maintained space, was an experience we will always remember. Romance al Colosseo is not merely a place to stay; it is a place to feel Rome its history, its warmth, and its quiet grandeur. We left with gratitude, wonderful memories, and a strong desire to return.
• Yamat-Lim (10/5): Fantastic family stay in Rome! - We spent 4 unforgettable days in this charming apartment and we're still swooning over the views! The unit's location is unbeatable - stunning views of the Colosseum, ruins, accessibility to metro and mesmerizing sunsets that'll leave you breathless 🌅. The cozy, clean, and perfectly-sized 3-bedroom unit was a dream for our family of 6. The facilities were top-notch, with a fully-stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, and iron - everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only tweaks we'd suggest are firmer pillows and a flooring refresh, but we understood given the building's age and charm . Plus, the indoor slippers were a thoughtful touch! But what truly made our stay special was the exceptional hospitality of Luigi and Christina 🙏. They went above and beyond, meeting us on arrival, helping with luggage, providing insider tips, and even stocking the fridge with goodies and having complimentary bottle of fizz when we arrived. Christina's baking was the cherry on top 🍰! Luigi's on-the-spot fix of adding a mirror to the master bedroom window was genius 😂 - perfect for sneaking peeks at the Colosseum! • Leon (8/5): Fantastic Family Break in Rome - The location of this property is fantastic whilst the apartment itself has great character, is very homely, stylish and comfortable whilst also having everything you could need for a few days or longer …..the best bit though is the location being a stones throw from the historic Colosseum with plenty of good restaurants within 5-15mins walk. Luigi the owner was super helpful - whether helping with airport transfers, recommendations on places to go or giving us a tour of the property when we got there. A nice touch was also leaving complimentary bottle of fizz, as well as essentials such as bread, sandwich meats , milk and coffee ensuring you can relax as soon as you get there. The value for money in terms of quality, location and price was excellent for us - we were 4 adults and two young kids at just over 100£ pp per night seems good value to us for Rome. The Building itself is a little dated but so is lots of Rome. The apartment whilst stylish with some nice antique decor and original features could do with some redecorating - HOWEVER i think you will struggle to beat the combination of Location, Quality of Accommodation, and Price in Rome. The best architectural Roman sites are all within a short walking distance of the apartment whilst landmarks like the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain , etc are within 20-25min walk , or short bus ride or Metro.

• Hyuk (10/5): - The location was perfect, just next to the Colosseum, which made everything very accessible. Although the building is old, it is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. In fact, its historic character allowed us to truly feel the charm of old Rome, which made the stay even more special. Most of all, the host was extremely kind, which made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable.

It was quiet at night with soundproof windows, dark to allow for sleep, beds were really comfortable, place was set up well for cooking with a full kitchen, we were able to wash clothes, and Luigi left us some food to get started which we were grateful for. The location was amazing with great views of the colosseum and very walkable to all the places we wanted to go. If we come back to Rome, we’ll definitely stay here again. I wish we had stayed even longer!

• Kaia (10/5): A gorgeous apartment just steps from the Colosseum - The location absolutely cannot be beaten. You can almost reach out and touch the colosseum from all three bedroom windows. The host Luigi was just lovely and very helpful. The showers were quite small (but manageable).
• Angel (9/5): Wonderful stay in Rome! - The property is on an exceptional location in the center of Rome, walking distance to many major attractions. Luigi and his wife went above and beyond making us feel welcomed to their property, they had it ready with many essentials we were not expecting including great Italian pastries. Everything regarding the property is what you expect of an old building well maintained in the center of a great city. The only concerns we had during our trip where regarding the Metro (Subway),specially near Termini which gets very busy and is a paradise for pick-pockets… Other than that, amazing!

At night it was breathtakingly beautiful. The building and the property itself had a lot of charm. Beautifully decorated with original historic features, at the same time it had all the modern amenities and luxuries. Our host Luigi went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable and gave us plenty of tourist information that we found very useful. There was nothing we didn’t like.

They thought of all the details for what we could need. The lift was smaller than expected however, the apartment is only on the second floor so we were able to use the stairs. When arriving, we used the lift for our luggage.

• Claire (10/5): Best place to stay in Rome! - I can't say enough great things about our stay at Romance al Colosseo. This was my husband and my second time to Rome, traveling with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and the apartment had plenty of space to spread out. The little elevator helped a lot with our luggage. And of course, the view! Any closer and you'd be in the Colosseum. Rome is always a whirlwind of tours and sightseeing and Luigi was so very kind with us with holding our luggage and accommodating our hectic schedule as much as possible. They left us some lovely treats that we enjoyed so much at the end of our day. Everything worked perfectly and the rooms were clean and bright. This was our first stop on our trip and my family was highly impressed at the accommodations. So many pictures taken outside those windows! And being in such close proximity to the Colosseum was incredible. Don't hesitate to stay here, I highly recommend it and would stay again. Loved everything

It was just around the corner from the Colosseum, and all the bedroom windows had a view of the Colosseum. The apartment was well appointed in the traditional style and spotless clean. There is air-conditioning in each bedroom. That was a welcome relief to enter a lovely cool apartment at the end of a near 100°F day of touring around Rome. The host was friendly and kind and gave us much information about the neighborhood and places to eat, shop, etc. and he said if we had any questions to please feel free to call him anytime. Everything was perfect. There is nothing to make the stay better.

• Sharon (9/5): Brilliant location, great hosts & quirky apartment where we were all comfortable. - This property was perfect for our stay 2 couples (each had our own bathroom) and the hosts were so helpful. Shower was a bit small, but adequate for our stay.
• Tyler (10/5): Customer service was above and beyond compared to other places we have travelled to and rented. - Owner met us in person to hand off the keys.and recommended some great places to eat and provided an overview of the property and location. Owner took time to make sure there were some basic food staples in the apartment like milk, bread, jam, even a fresh made coffee cake and some fresh meats and cheese. Very thoughtful. There was nothing we would have changed. We received as much or more than we had expected with this property.

The location was perfect, it was gorgeous, the beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! It was glorious to hear nightly concerts from the forum from our windows. Luigi and Cristina were wonderful, attentive hosts. One thing: the main door into the building is very difficult to get open with the key. It took us a few minutes each time to get it to open. But that is on the building manager

Our host was extremely friendly and helpful, and the decor in the apartment was elegant and creatively combines contemporary and antique designs and furnishings. We were less than five minutes from the Coliseum, and we were able to park close by on the street. All of our family members loved this apartment! There were even coffee, shops and restaurants close by for early morning, coffee and late night Cocktails. Bravo! We really couldn’t imagine anything that needs improvement.

We are a family of four from Australia, so after suffering through many cramped accommodations on our European tour thus far, the spaciousness of the apartment was such a pleasure - particularly the second bathroom. The building itself was lovely and felt very secure. Thank you Luigi and Cristina - we would definitely recommend. If and when we return to Rome we will stay closer to the city centre, but that’s just our preference. Also, being so close to the Colosseum (obviously a huge plus in every other way), meant it was quite noisy outside until late in the evening most nights.
• Linley (10/5): Great apartment there where 5 of us and we had some great space to spread out. Location is great - This is a great apartment. You are right by the colosseum and easy transport links. The apartment is amazing and comes with everything you need. Would highly recommend it.
• Tania (10/5): Luxurious Amazing Appartment - We we greeted by Luigi who was absolutely Amazing. Bottle of champagne on arrival with breakfast supplies of all types. Perfect location.This apartment had it all and if you want luxury this is it Only complaint is the Noise. People gather for celebrations outside till all hours . Also in the main bedroom the people next door are very noisy and it comes straight through the wall in there
• David (10/5): Super apartment in an excellent location - Excellent location. Food and drink for breakfast in the fridge. Cake, biscuits, etc for snacks. Bottle of prosecco. Owner met us with keys and left maps and recommendations of sights and transport. He spoke excellent English. We had view of the Colosseum from the bedrooms. Beds were large and very comfortable. A small waste bin in the bedrooms.

Lungi was very accommodating allowing us an early check in and supplying the basics in the kitchen Super comfortable beds, lovely linens, even toothbrushed and slippers were provided- 100% recommend Everything was superb

• Kimberly (10/5): perfection - I HIGHLY recommend this property. we took a girls trip and cruise from Rome. we went a couple days early and stayed at Romance Al Colosseo. the property was perfect. Clean, three bedrooms, amazing location with views of the Colosseum. Luigi was simply spectacular. He helped us with transportation from the airport to Rome and then back to the Port. he was on time, friendly, and so helpful. He even supplied some snacks, coffee , creamer , etc. I simply cannot say enough positive things about Luigi. I will absolutely be returning. nothing. it was perfect.
• Josue (10/5): welcoming and perfect location - the host Luiggi was very adapting to our arrival time, he was there to greet us and helped us a lot with our luggage. He was also very informative and explained to us what we had in our surroundings, plus he and his wife had very nice welcoming details like a bottle of Champaign and some goodies and basic groceries in the refrigerator. • Tricia (10/5): Luigi made sure we had everything we needed - he couldn’t do enough for us - Location was perfect and the apartment was beautiful. Luigi was a superb host and made us welcome on arrival with lots of thoughtful extras which really made it special. Can’t think of any negatives.

• Clodagh (10/5): Excellent - Everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was spacious with everything you could need provided by the owners, even hair straighteners! The owner was very helpful and accommodating of our arrival time. The location was excellent, so near the Colosseum but it was quiet and we slept well.
