There were 7 adults (three couples, one single) and we were there for three nights. The apartment is huge and was perfect for a big group, especially because we had three bathrooms.
It’s also in such a good location, within walking distance of Trastevere and the Testacchio Market.
Giovanna also linked us up with a tour guide for a private group tour of the colosseum and Roman forum and it was fantastic. Can’t recommend enough.
- Kate (7/5): A large apartment, perfect for a group, easy transport links or walkable routes for most people - The apartment was nice and spacious for our group of 6 adults, all requiring separate beds. You could get accommodation closer to some of the attractions, but you'll pay a lot more, this was reasonable for the size of the property. The hosts contacted weeks in advance of the trip sharing/requesting information via WhatsApp, communication was easy. We had a greeter meet us on arrival, who again, contacted us days before arrival to share/request information. There was a couple of issues, although not necessarily directly in the control of our hosts. We had booked the private airport transfer through them, who was not there/late when we arrived at the airport, after travelling it's a fuss you don't want, but the hosts did pick up my messages immediately and were swift to action and resolve.
We were also without hot water on two out of our three mornings, resulting in cold showers! Our greeter did respond to my message straight away, and again quick to resolve, sending someone to fix the error on the boiler, later in the day, but we didn't hang around, we wanted to get out and make the most of our day. It was OK day 2 and went off again on day 3 - our last day, so a cold shower again before check-out. Although some frustrating incidents, it's clear the hosts are a professional team and communication was swift and hassle free.
- John (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location living amongst the locals.
Short bus trip to all the main attractions or you can just walk it. Testaccio is a very safe suburb with many authentic restaurants and great cafes. No negatives....very comfortable apartment.
- Yotov (9/5): Superb - The apartment is located near the centre and Trevestevere. If you are not a fan of walking, there is a bus stop right in front of the building that can get you to the colosseum within 10 mins.
The apartment is spacious, has excellent WiFi, full kitchen and 4 bedrooms with 3 baths which is excellent for bigger groups or families.
Also just next to it you have an amazing bakery for you breakfast and coffee before you set off to explore Rome. If you are staying over a weekend, have in mind that the bar bellow can become noisy. Especially for the people staying in the room right next to the front door which is just above the bar. We didn’t really have a problem with it during the other days.
Also, the hot water was behaving funky for us. With quick transitions between hot and cold.
- Daniel (10/5): Overall great choice for larger family - Great location, very spacious can be noisy on weekends.
- Cal (8/5): Very enjoyable. Lots of walking. England won the rugby. - Waiting for us Hard to contact. Had to go through a 3rd party
- Graham (8/5): We had a great time catching up with family and seeing the sights of Rome. - The location is excellent: not too far from the centre, well connected to the bus system, and with restaurants (and gelato!) on the doorstep. The only potential disadvantage is that the apartment is above a wine bar, which can be noisy at night. (Bring earplugs if this will bother you!)
- Nguyen (10/5): One of the best apartments in Rome - The checkin was very easy and pleasant. Simona has been very nice and professional.
The apartment is spacious and very comfortable, the bus stop is just 3 minutes from the apartment.
In addition, there are many authentic local restaurants. We strongly recommended.
- Bea (8/5): Spacious and great layout of apartment with 3 baths, good for people who can sleep through noise. - Perfect location for walking to several sights and also right next to bus stop with several lines. Nice little local grocery store in the neighborhood by a little park. Neighborhood feels pretty safe for a big city. The bar under the apartment is open until 3am with many people standing outside of it and talking loudly. If you are a party person and don’t get home until that time that will not matter. In our group some were able to sleep right through it and others were not able to sleep until 3am. And at about 7am woken up again with rush hour traffic noises sirens. Returned from this trip very sleep deprived, but still enjoyed Rome overall.
- Zachary (8/5): Nice apartment and good location - The apartment is large and is great for groups or families. Located on the second floor, the stairs are easy and there is also a small elevator. The apartment itself is equipped with everything you need, minus some bathroom / personal care items such as a hair dryer or shampoo / conditioner for the shower. Also, the gentleman who checked us in was extremely kind and attentive. The property itself is not far from a lot of sights. Even by foot most of the city is accessible. The only negative was that the bedroom doors do not close well so noise can be heard throughout.
- Tamás (9/5): Perfect accommodation for a group of friends. - 3 bathrooms, 4 spacious rooms with separate entrance. Communicative host, perfect and correct information. The shower in the 2 bathrooms was a bit uncomfortable.
- Maria (10/5): Very cozy flat - Very big flat, very big rooms with AC in each, perfect location! Two of the AC were leaking. We informed about the first one and it was fixed next day, the other which we noticed later, we did not inform and were not able to use it. There was no soap for dishes.
- Julia (7/5): We enjoyed our stay in Irene’s home. - Location to restaurants was great! Apt was comfortable for our group of 9. We definitely would have appreciated a few more amenities such as more soap, more towels, more toilet paper, more glasses in the kitchen. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable.
- Carolina (8/5): really cool apartment for a group!! - Super spacious and clean
