• Mihaela (9/5): Really enjoyed, will be coming back - Very good location and the owner was very kind and helpful when needed. I stayed for 2 weeks and felt really good. The isolation for the windows/door is not really perfect so on a stormy night it can get quite loud but nothing too serious.

The check-in and check-out process was very easy, and Dr. Mamdouh was always available for any questions or concerns. He is such a kind and welcoming person, and I truly felt at home. The apartment is in a fantastic location with great spots nearby. If you’re lucky enough to find it available on your travel dates, I highly recommend staying there!

• Baravan (8/5): Convenient, clean, good hosts and secure. - The place was very clean and quiet. It was close to my conference place and uber would arrive in a minute. It was also close to the Airport. I arrived at this place without any problems. The host is an amazing person, checking up on me once in a while in case I needed something. The place is safe and secure. I would definitely recommend it to someone wanting to go to Cairo, specially in New Cairo. Breakfast would be a good addition!

• Khandekar (4/5): Disappointing - The location near to my business work. The bed. It was not. It's sofa cum bed arrangement. Very cheap. Couldn't sleep entire night. Horrible experience. Also its a studio flat. Not one bedroom. No sitting arrangement.

• Melanie (8/5): Had a good stay - I wouldn't normally stay in a property like this - I normally stay in hotels - but, as I live and work in Cairo, and my apartment was being renovated, I needed somewhere longer-term (I stayed 28 nights). I chose this property because it was close to work, and the price was more reasonable than many other options (due to the financial crisis in Egypt, many people are asking crazy prices for accommodation). The studio is in a small self-contained building on the roof of a villa. You can take the lift up, if the power is working (at the moment, the government is doing rolling blackouts, and in this area blackout time is about 2pm; power cuts can last for a few minutes or just over an hour), but I preferred to walk up. The studio was very clean when I moved in. It was comfortable. It was private. There was a good amount of space to put my belongings. There were no issues with ants, roaches, or mosquitos. The host and his wife were friendly and helpful - they helped me have my laundry collected, cleaned, and returned. There are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants on the Instashop and Talabat apps that will deliver to this area, although the drivers frequently phone you to ask where the apartment is, and they don't usually speak English - as I don't speak Arabic, I got around this problem by walking to the edge of the roof and waving/calling down at them so they could see where to come. Uber availability in this area is good. I'm pleased I chose this studio. The sofa bed was okay, but obviously a proper bed would have been more comfortable, as I was staying longer-term. The door to the studio is transparent corrugated plastic, which allows light in at all times - personally, I would have slept better if it was darker. Extra costs for cleaning, bedding, and towels need to be more clear - it says on Booking.com 'extra fee' for towels/sheets; the 'check-in guide' the host sent me the morning I checked in (and consequently didn't read properly till much later) says 20 USD for cleaning, bedding, and towels; the host messaged me during my stay saying cleaning was 20 USD, but didn't mention towels and bedding - as I said, I wouldn't normally stay in a property like this, so I'm not sure why there's an expectation that guests pay for bedding and towels when they are fundamental to accommodation where one sleeps - I think I very much misunderstood the host's meaning and expectations, in this regard, too, so I apologise for that! In relation to the 'check-in guide', receiving it on the morning of check-mean means it's too late to cancel and get a refund if you didn't agree with the things in it, such as the host's rule 'mixed couples not allowed' - I don't know what a 'mixed couple' is, but if you are one, what would happen when you tried to check in?

• Mahmudul (9/5): A very pleasant and comfortable stay with a great host and in a nice quiet area. - A very cosy studio where I was able to work remotely without any issues. A nice quiet area so no disturbance while working. Good Wi-Fi speed and also 4G speed, no problems with zoom calls. Nice spacious roof with a view of Mahaba Square. Restaurants available at reasonable walking distance and takeaways using Talabat app without any issues. Dr Mamdouh was very nice and was able to communicate perfectly with him as he speaks English very well. Not necessarily the property but water supply got lost for several hours in the whole area which I’ve been told is a rare occurrence. Dr Mamdouh kindly supplied me with a massive 18 litre water bottle which helped a lot.
