Guest Reviews
- Andreea (10/5): Frumos !

- Leonardo Serna (9/5): - The apartment it's very spacious, well located and furnished with IKEA stuff. The bed was excellent for us. WiFi was great. The host sent all what we need on time. The kitchen has the basics, everything you need. Close to restaurants, supermarkets, bakery's and few minutes walking to Plaka, where the Acropolis is, and the metro station Sygrou-Fix. Also you are close to Philopappos Hill, spectacular views up there. The neighbourhood has a mix of old and new shops so you will be surrounded mainly by locals, exactly what we were looking for. A toaster would be good addition, there is a panini press thought. Boiler needs to be switch on 20/25 min before have a hot shower if you need, that's not bad but you have to be aware. Expect some noises from neighbours, but not much.

- Marek (9/5): A big apartment in a nice residential area - I liked it a lot!
The apartment is very spacious for one or two people. It has a lot of space in wardrobes and cabinets, and the kitchen is very well equipped. The balcony is also nice to have, although it is very urban, with neighbors on all sides.
With the outside window blinds you can create a complete blackout in the bedroom. If you like sleeping in total darkness, this is a place for you!
The apartment is administered by an agency, you never see them, but they are pretty quick to reply when you write to them on Booking, and they are friendly and helpful. Both check in and check out are self service, and there's no cleaning during your stay.
I liked the area - it is residential with a mix of locals and tourists, but at the same time it is lively with local restaurants, bakeries and shops Just before your arrival they send you a warning about two things, you may want to know before:
1. The electric grid in the building is old and if you use many appliances at once, you may end up without electricity - this one stressed me a bit during my stay and I kept thinking: "can I safely boil water now if the AC and some lights are on" etc.
2. The hot water is kinda on demand. You have to switch on the boiler and wait for 25-40 min. For me it seemed to take less time, but spontaneous showers may be an issue.

- Ceyhun (10/5): We truly felt at home. - We had everything we needed and felt at home. The apartment is in the center of Koukaki, and getting in and out was very easy.
- Dimoglou (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audrey (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (8/5): Perfect apartment 😉 - Perfect apartment for your stay in Athens. Walking distance to Akropolis and Plaka, but far enough away from the main tourist flows. Everything you need for your stay.
Easy communication, good recommendations by Liroy and late-checkout was possible. All good. You hear the neighbours and have to wait for hot water, but that’s normal for an older building. All good.
- Vlad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iri (9/5): Very convenient flat - The location was great, 15’ walking from the Acropolis , safe area and amazing communication between host and guest. There was something which needed to be fixed in the flat and they came straight away to do so after being told.
The flat was clean and bright with all the utensils needed. There were even some washing machine capsules which I really appreciated it having! Unfortunately there were building works outside so from 8am the noise would wake me up… and the mattress was a bit too hard for my back…
- Peter (8/5): Nice apartment in a great location for a stay in Athens - We picked this apartment largely because of its location and in this respect it was perfect for our needs – in walking distance from the Acropolis, Plaka, and other attractions, but also convenient for me to get to a meeting further out of downtown.
As another plus of the location there are very nice restaurants literally around the corner, but the street itself is actually rather quiet. We slept with an open balcony door and only once were awoken earlier, as on Friday a fruit and vegetable market set up in the road just above us and the sellers came by with their cars and vans. Within a minute from the apartment you find an excellent bakery, a small dairy shop with various authentic cheese and other dairy products (e.g., goat butter) as well as other specialties, and a small supermarket. The whole quarter is very well worth exploring beyond bars and restaurants.
The apartment is nice with a big, comfortable bed, very good storage space, the washing machine (not used by us, but excellent to have the option) and a fully equipped kitchen.
Contact with the owners was very good. Arrival with a keybox worked perfectly well. The Wifi in the apartment worked just fine and was rather fast. A bit of coffee and sugar available on arrival was a nice touch. When we noted one problem in the bathroom it was quickly fixed. The kitchen equipment was a bit scarce on dishes, cutlery etc., compared to other places where we have staid. The kitchen area seemed a bit cursorily attended to overall – more details have been reported to the owners. Some other places also ensure you have a little bit of oil, pepper (we found salt & vinegar) in the kitchen on arrival.
- Ken (4/5): Disappointing - In May 2023 we stayed at this Mpeles Street apartment for 4 days.
We emailed the landlord requesting a checkout slightly later than 11am as we had a 4pm flight. We received no response.
As another reviewer previously mentioned the toilet seat needed “updating”. When we arrived the toilet seat was broken in half on one side. At this point the toilet seat was dangerous to use not to mention unsanitary. We emailed Liroy the landlord 4 in times concerning the toilet seat and included a picture of the toilet. Again, we never received a response and the toilet was never fixed. As of the date of this review we have not received a communication from Liroy about the toilet or an explanation for the lack of communication.
The apartment contains signs from Urban Management Group https://umg.co.il/en/about-us-en/ providing instructions and directions. UMG is a short term vacation rental management company. I believe Liroy is owner of UMG. The UMG instructions required you to turn on the water heater 45 minutes prior to taking a shower because of poor electrical in the old building. This was not disclosed until after booking. We certainly would not book any vacation apartment requiring a wait of 45 minutes to shower.
The apartment was poorly stocked: insufficient toilet paper for two people, no paper towels, no microwave. Only one dish cloth, no dish towels and limited service ware. One very small trash bin which we quickly filled. We began using grocery bags. No directions were provided how to dispose of the trash.
The apartment was clean, close to the Acropolis and has a neighborhood feel with many restaurants. Despite this, we would not recommend this area to our family or friends as we found nearby neighborhoods with more charm.
- Marietta (7/5): Easy self-check in and out - Convenient location near subway station The neighbours of the building unfortunately ruined the experience and the needed peace of mind … dogs were barking from early hours till evening…
Overall cozy house but with poor quality of mattress, A/C was not working properly in the bedroom
- Neil (10/5): Just right. Enjoyable and convenient. - Perfect location for us. Easy walk from Sigrou-Fix metro. Close to lovely tavernas, bakeries etc and a nice walk to Acropolis and beyond. Nothing. It was exactly what we needed.
- Till (10/5): Safe, affordable and comfortable appartment - We had a very pleasant stay. The place was clean and cosy. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need. Very nice and helpful hosts. We could overstay a few hours with no charge. The place is located in a calm and safe area with a bakery and a supermarket nearby. A short bus ride brings you to Plaka and Acropolis. very minor things like toilet seat/ shower hose could be renewed.
