- Liliane (10/5): EXCELLENT STAY WITH GREAT LOCATION. - The apartment was very comfortable for the two of us.It had its own little sitting area outside the entrance door where we enjoyed our morning coffees. It looked into a private and lovely garden area with the orange trees and the birds singing.So private and quiet from the outside world.The location was perfect to walk to the ancient sites restaurants and shopping areas.The taxi from the airport picked us up and brought us to our door.Some places in Plaka the taxis can’t come to your door to bring you or to pick you up..We cooked in the little kitchen supplied and enjoyed the living room and dining area.Very clean and very comfortable place to relax in after a busy day of adventures.Has a washing machine also which we didn’t make use of because we stayed in the apartment at the beginning of our trip .There are other apartments located in the building but it was very quiet and never heard any noise.Entering the unit was with a lock box and all went well for check in.We enjoyed our clean comfortable private apartment away from home immensely and would return to it! Apartment within the house was good sized, comfortable, with a small kitchen area. The house itself is within a walled courtyard, yet right in the middle of the step alleyways of the Plaka. Out the door, turn left 5 steps, left again, and you are looking up the steps at outdoor restaurants up several levels to the Anafiotika neighborhood. Turn the other way to see shops of various kinds. We loved it! Electrical outlets are few and far between, but it is an old house...

La cour intérieure permet aux enfants de se défouler et même de manger dehors. 2 chambres indépendantes ! L'hôte nous a vraiment bien informé, mais sans l'avoir jamais rencontré... Le logement est très sombre, c'est pour cela que nous avons mangé à l'extérieur autant que possible. Les luminaires ne sont pas appropriés, surtout dans la pièce à vivre. La fenêtre de l'une des chambres donne sur un mur qui se trouve à 1 mètre devant... La salle de bains est minuscule, pas facile avec des enfants en bas âge. Pas de volets aux fenêtres, seulement des rideaux peu occultants.

- George (10/5): We are SO VERY HAPPY that we found and chose this location and will gladly stay again, if/when I return to Athens! - Spacious, rustic accommodation centrally located in the Plaka… made us really feel as if we were blended in. Loved morning coffee on the roof patio… listening to the Plaka stir and birds sing in the beautiful orange tree! Steps up to the front door require care and the floor indents (~1-2 inches lower due to added acoustic flooring) are a little hazardous. Had a few trips, missteps and stumbles. May be good to make edges more visible, although may alter aesthetic.

- ELIZABETH (10/5): Very comfortable stay in the heart of Plaka - We loved the location of the house. It was nice and spacious for a family of four, and we especially appreciated the private garden and rooftop terrace (unfortunately couldn't see the Acropolis as it was hidden by the amazing old tree, but could see Lycabettus Hill from the separate terrace which was really nice). It was also great that there is a laundry machine, coffee machine and kitchen amenities. And we very much appreciated being able to leave our luggage after checkout until late afternoon. We would love to return one day! As I'd read in a few reviews, it is true that there can be noise at night (especially live musicians) coming from the nearby restaurants. This didn't bother us too much, and it stopped around 10-11pm. Unfortunately, there was a power outage the morning of our departure, but this was apparently for the general area and not just within the house. It was restored eventually but we couldn't make coffee that morning or cook anything for breakfast.

Good shower. Outside seating. Homely feel. We loved it. Helpful staff organising taxis etc. Nothing really. It is opposite a restaurant which has live music but the windows block the noise pretty well and it finishes before midnight anyway.

- Hilary (10/5): Fabulous place in the heart of Plaka - Location can't be bettered: right in the heart of picturesque Plaka, walking distance to all the sights. Nearest restaurant: 5m! . We loved hearing the chat and music and church bells. Buzzing in the evenings, but very quiet at night due to the absence of traffic on Plaka's quaint narrow lanes. The flat is spacious and comfortably traditional in style, which we really liked. It has windows on 2 sides, so is quite light. Shower pressure is good. 10 mins walk from Syntagma square for airport bus/metro Great communication from the host, who was flexible and very responsive to requests. We were able to leave our luggage on our last day, which was much appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay here; I'd definitely book again If you are gourmet cooks you might find the kitchen equipment rather sparse: I didn't find ANY kitchen knives, for instance, though I didn't look very hard. Why would you, with so many great restaurants literally on your doorstep? Patents with young children or people with mobility impairment should note that access to the little roof terrace is via a very steep, narrow, ladder-like open staircase. Perfectly ok for reasonably agile 60+ year olds though, with care, and great views. There are alternative outside spaces to sit out: there is a little table and 2 chairs outside the main bedroom on a narrow balcony, and there are lots of shady seating areas in the shared main courtyard.

Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war problemlos und wir fanden es sehr nett, dass er uns einen späteren Check-out erlaubte. Das Bad war sehr klein, aber ansonsten auch völlig okay.

- Elie Khoury (10/5): A quiet oasis in the heart of plaka - We had a wonderful stay in this Plaka apartment! The location is truly amazing, yet it remains surprisingly calm and peaceful. We especially loved having our breakfast in the courtyard—the atmosphere was so soothing. The space is beautifully decorated and well-equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommended!

A pesar de estar en una calle muy animada, el recinto era una zona con mucha paz. En las fotos del apartamento Deluxe con patio privado, se ven vistas a la Acrópolis. Esas fotos deben tener muchos años porque hay un árbol de laurel que impide totalmente la vista a la Acrópolis. Deberían actualizar esas fotos ya que inducen a error, y para nosotros fue una decepción al entrar al alojamiento. Habria reservado otro de los apartamentos ya que para nosotros era importante

- Laurence (10/5): Paradise in Plaka - L'espace, le confort, la propreté et bien sûr l'accueil chaleureux et la disponibilité des hôtes. La cour intérieure, les bigaradiers. Entrée de la cour sécurisée par une porte à code, entrées des appartements sécurisés par serrure et boite à clés (deux exemplaires). La vue sur l'Acropole et la petite terrasse adorable en haut du petit escalier, un rooftop privatif très agréable, au sommet de l'escalier un peu raide situé dans la (grande) entrée de l'appartement. Nous avions l'appartement dit "exécutif", très confortable à trois personnes, pouvant en accueillir six sans problème. La décoration est très agréable et sans excès. L'appartement est très lumineux, Les deux chambres sont grandes. L'un est équipée de deux lits simples, l'autre d'un lit double. Un canapé-lit gigogne est placé dans le vaste salon, ainsi qu'un deuxième canapé, des fauteuils et deux tables, dont un bureau, et un vaisselier. Des portes permettent de séparer les espaces. Il y a deux toilettes, l'une dans la salle d'eau (une douche, pas de baignoire), l'autre dans un cabinet de toilette pourvu d'un lavabo. Les serviettes moelleuses de différentes tailles sont disponibles. Le papier toilette est fourni en abondance. Le savon (liquide) et le shampooing sont dans la douche. Les prises sont suffisamment nombreuses et équipées de multiprises à trois sorties. La cuisine est bien équipée, avec frigo de taille moyenne, four, plaque et micro-ondes, vaisselle suffisante pour six, grand évier, égouttoir. Des ciseaux, un tire-bouchon, de l'essuie-tout, des torchons, etc. Une table et des chaises. Machine à café avec dosettes fournies, sucre, bouilloire, passoire. Plancher un peu grinçant dans le salon, les chambres et l'entrée, sans excès, multiples tapis, carrelage dans la cuisine. Chauffage fonctionnel et pré-réglé (mais aussi réglable) très appréciable. Climatisation par pompe à chaleur, sans doute réversible. (pas essayée). L'eau chaude un peu capricieuse, mais vraiment de façon aléatoire. Le bruit certains soirs, mais avec le double vitrage, c'est largement supportable. Le logement est situé en plein quartier de Plaka, Ce n'est donc pas surprenant, et le logement vaut bien de supporter ces petits désagréments. A déconseiller aux personnes craignant les escaliers. L'appartement où nous étions n'était accessible que par un escalier pas très large. Mais il y a d'autres appartements, peut-être plus accessibles, dans la maison.

- Nicola (10/5): - The apartment was located in a beautiful little courtyard with outside shady seating. The location is fantastic - easy to access from the metro, and walking distance of all the historic sites. There are some lovely little bars and restaurants nearby.
- Gavin (10/5): A lovely, traditional appartment ideally located in the historic heart of Athens - We loved staying here, centrally loacted within easy reach of all the main sites and in a characterful, historic apartment. The house is ideally located in a quieter area between the more touristed part of Plaka to the south and busy Monastiraki to the north. It's entered through an attractive, garden courtyard off a quiet street. The bedroom and living room (we stayed in the "Exceptional Apartment") overlook a busier street with restaurants but we weren't disturbed by this as the rooms have double glazing and the restaurants quietened down after 11pm - you can also see the Acropolis from these windows! The apartment is well furnished with antiques and a very comfotable bed and, although we didn't make much use of it, the kitchenette was well equiped for preparing simple meals. Correspondence with the host and check-in (using a keybox) was very easy.

We booked the wonderful apartment No. 3 The location of the apartment is at the beginning of the Plaka district, you can reach it on foot from the Monastiraki or Syntagma metro stations in a 7 to 10 minute walk. The path from the metro to the apartment does not have many stairs, so I could walk with my luggage. The apartment is on the second floor, very spacious, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a shower with a washing machine, a spacious and beautiful living room, a kitchen and an entrance. Decorated with authentic antique furniture, very beautiful in my opinion, we had a lot of fun staying there. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with enough dishes, a refrigerator and even spices. A great supermarket is a 4-5 minute walk away. Another thing about the apartment is the stunning view from every window, and of course from the rooftop terrace. We ate breakfast on the rooftop terrace with the feeling of belonging to the ancient and special place. In addition, the proximity to all historical and tourist sites makes the apartment perfect for a stay in Athens. Weak water flow in the shower compared to what we are used at home

This was such an amazing walking location from everything from city centre, and it was so clean and quiet! I loved this place and miss it! Thank you. The floors were a bit dusty, especially in the bedroom, so we had to wear slippers the entire time.

Bagno piccolo e senza finestra ma per due giorni va bene. Acqua calda e riscaldamento okay. Un po’ di rumore sabato notte dai ristoranti intorno alla casa ma le finestre sono insonorizzate. Giardino adorabile.
- angeles (9/5): Apartamentos con ubicación fabulosa - Muy buena ubicación. El recinto en el que se encontraban los apartamentos era muy bonito y estaba muy cuidado. Buen anfitrión y todo fácil. Camas cómodas. Quizá del apartamento 6 el hecho de que no tuviera saloncito y que la habitación de las literas no tuviera puertas. Poca intimidad aunque vayas con familiares o amigos. Poco espacio para dejar la maleta, pero aun así, el lugar es acogedor.

- Esther (10/5): Heerlijke plek in Plaka! - Midden in de wijk Plaka, dichtbij het gezellige centrum maar toch een hele rustige plek. Wij zaten in appartement 3 "Executive", een mooi ruim appartement met een dakterras met fantastisch uitzicht op de Akropolis! Twee slaapkamers, een badkamer met douche, wastafel, toilet en wasmachine en ook nog een apart toilet met wastafel. Keuken hebben we nauwelijks gebruikt want we hebben heerlijk buiten de deur gegeten, maar alles is wel aanwezig om zelf te koken. Niets, alles was perfect

- Linda (10/5): Classic oasis in the heart of Plaka - A Painter's House offers a calm oasis in a peaceful setting very close to a busy area, Plaka. Even though there were many tourists around, the windows kept the noise out and we slept comfortably. The stone walls kept the rooms cool, too. The furnishings are like a step back in time, classic and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast outside on the patio and were pleased that there were some staples in the kitchen, such as sugar, coffee, and tea. The kind owner, Pavlos, showed us some of the other rooms upon checkout and wow, they are beautiful with terrific views. We look forward to returning and staying again at A Painter's House upon our next visit to Athens. Nothing.
- Lauriane (8/5): Très bon séjour dans cette merveilleuse ville, ce très joli quartier et cette résidence agréable. - L’emplacement était parfait. Proche de l’acropole, proche des commerces et jolis restaurants, proche du métro Monastiraki mais en même temps au calme dans de jolies ruelles. La résidence composée de plusieurs appartements était très agréable. Notre logement était le numéro 4, il était propre et agréable en général, suffisant pour une famille ou deux couples, composé de l’électroménager et mobilier nécessaire un peu à l’ancienne. Les petits inconvénients de cet appartement, sont le manque de volets dans les chambres qui laisse entrer la lumière, les bruits de l’appartement du dessus et la literie, pour les fragiles du sommeil comme moi. L’étroitesse de la salle d’eau / toilettes.

- Roland (10/5): Angenehmer Stadtaufenthalt - Generell gute Ausstattung. Gute Kommunikation mit dem Administrator. Hervorragende Lage unterhalb der Akropolis. Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar. Schöner Innenhof; abgeschirmt vom Touristentrubel. Der Administrator hat uns einen günstigen Transfer zum Airport organisiert. Man könnte noch Insektengitter anbringen. Aber es liegen elektrische Verdampfer aus.

Doesn’t look like anything from the piade yet opens up onto a communal courtyard and then up stairs t - Fantastic location, lovely layout and all the conveniences of home. Coffee, milk etc all provided. Really loved staying there and roof time view of other side of Athens was beautiful. Would go back again. Huge tree in courtyard blocked view of Acropolis - needs a trip.
