Guest Reviews

- Justin (1/5): Bad - Nothing. This place is not what it looks like online. While the apartment appears clean in photos, the area around 55 Kefallinias is extremely unsafe. We arrived at 3 a.m. and immediately felt threatened. In 24hrs, we saw a man high on drugs shouting and throwing objects outside, and another man tried to force his way into the gate after seeing us go out. Just up the road, people were injecting drugs in plain sight, and directly across the entrance, drug dealers and addicts gathered in a garage.
The building door was left open at night. Even worse — if it had been closed but not locked, anyone could easily slip their hand through the broken glass and unlock it from the outside. There is no proper security, and the dark, exposed stairwell (no idea where the stairs lead to) only added to the danger.
We didn’t stay for another night. We packed up important items and left to sleep in our rental car in a safer neighbourhood, returning only in daylight to collect our remaining things. We tried messaging and calling the host in the afternoon, out of respect but got no response at all. She never answered and did not offer any kind of refund or help. We had messaged before so I was surprised. P.S. The details and pictures of the place and entrance were sent after the cancellation period, because we would have cancelled beforehand.
We ended up booking a hotel for the next 6 days in one of the safest areas in Athens, which made the contrast even more shocking.
This listing is misleading. The location is unsafe, the building is insecure, and the host was unresponsive. Do your research before booking — especially if you're a tourist.
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Corrina (4/5): I don’t have much positives to say really. I’m a budget traveller and don’t expect much from cheap accommodation but the - The outside space The smell of drains were horrendous…the entrance was smashed up and felt unsafe…
And the location was run down. The shower flooded the whole bathroom and lots of things were broken…
Cheap but still not worth the price.
- Conk3r (5/5): Appartment with bad odor - kitchen had all the basic requirements. The terrace is nice. Bus stop, bakery and mini-markets are nearby. The appartment has an bad odor probably due to lack of air circulation. The shower doesn't drain well. The area around the appartment felt a bit sketchy. The Wifi didn't work and the host didn't bother to fix it.
- Nicholas (9/5): after a poor start, great! - It was clean and cosy in an interesting area.
Well positioned to attractions. The communication was poor initially.
I almost gave up and went to a hotel.
Then they came on line and gave me another code so that I could obtain the keys.
- Paul (7/5): The access needs a lot of TLC, the glass in the door was brocken (dangerous) no light returning in hours of darkness - Close to the Metro No access to the Romantic garden
- Morgan (1/5): Bad - The place is decorated very well and has a lovely shared garden (with cats!). Kitchen comes with seasoning for cooking There was no air con which I’m sure wouldn’t be an issue but we stayed in the heart of summer so it was unbearably hot. The cleanliness was poor and the on suite toilet stank of sewage, after flushing the toilet it smelled so bad we couldn’t open the door for at least an hour. Out of the way of the centre and the the glass entry door to the building was shattered, would not recommend for solo female travellers, felt quite unsafe. Booked for 6 nights, stayed for one, had to find somewhere else
- Ana (7/5): Good -
- Jolanda (7/5): Confortable bed and very well served area, although it is not central it has everything - Garden
Bed It was a bit too dark and it is a basement
- Lauren (9/5): Great little apartment tucked away from the noise but also close to restaurants, shops and public transport. The kitchen -
- Lukas (9/5): Superb -
- Essameldin (8/5): Very good -
- Essameldin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dragan (8/5): A microcosm in a large metropolis: it is in the center without the noise of the city -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Ágnes (7/5): Good - Very comfortable bed and well equipped flat. It is in a busy area but very quiet. Many shops, and cafes nearby for breakfast. The flat was quite cold and a bit damp since it is in the basement floor. In the summer it must be great, for April we were cold in the flat if just sitting.
You have to be careful with the shower, if fully opened you can easily flood the whole bathroom.
- Isis (7/5): Does the job for two people - Location, patio and very comfortable bed. It is in the basement can be a little cold and there is a walking heater that helps out in which ever room you put it,the heater plug cord is very short. The kitchen is missing cooking supplies needs more plates and cooking utensils if you plan on using the kitchen alot.
- Filipe (9/5): I'll be back - Easy check in. Close to city centre. Comfortable. Nice outside space. It was cold and there was a heater wich really helped. Everything you need in a small kitchen for quick meals. I only missed a hairdryer.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Location, efficiency, cleanliness, comfort
- Joe (9/5): Great stay -
- Alvaro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pavlin (9/5): Superb - The apartment is located in a quiet and safe place, close to the center, no homeless people near. It has a washing machine, a good heater, Wi-Fi.
Everything was clean, quick check in, the keys were left in a special box. Nice host, responded to messages quickly and provided a place to store bags after check out.
Overall, this is good value for money. The apartment has the necessary minimum for cooking, as well as coffee, salt, peper, even sugar, but there was no small kettle to make tea or coffee. The water is heated by solar panels and was not hot enough on a rainy day.
