- Andy (10/5): A great place to stay. - I booked this for a week with my two oldest children(27 and 25!). I know Berlin well having visited many times and also worked there but this was an area I did not know so well. It's handy for shops(small local ones and a supermarket)and 7-10 minutes walk to the SBahn meaning you can be in the heart of the city centre in under half an hour. The flat is in a quiet residential street and very well appointed-everything you need. Very comfortable for three adults. We were met by the owner who was very helpful and answered all our questions.
While the area is perhaps not very attractive at first glance to some, it is real Berlin and if you have come for that experience then this can't be beaten. It has great character. There is also an old Berlin classic pub called Soldiner Eck about 150 meters up the road with very friendly staff and locals.
We loved it and I hope to go back with my wife in spring next year.

- Adrienne (3/5): Not As Advertised- Unethical Host - the fact it had a washing machine and dryer which is always helpful when you travel DO NOT BOOK HERE
this property is NOT as advertised , the host knows it and is not honest or
truthful in dealings. Ok so it’s a shop -
fair enough - but the photos of the outside and inside do not represent the current state of the place - the outside is covered in graffiti, there are not 3 double beds and a sofa bed as advertised on the listing - the apartment was moderately clean and the sofa bed is actually just a couch with a pullout bit. We booked this property because the listing stated 3 double beds and 1 sofa bed as we weren’t sure whether our son might need to join us during our stay, so we knew with 3 double beds
we would have room for him should we need it. Prior to arriving we messaged the property and asked if we could have another adult for the duration - they messaged back and agreed to an additional adult for which we were charged an additional payment of 100 EURO in cash which we paid on arrival.
however when shown the bed - which was advertised as a double bed - it was a single bed in a mezzanine space so low you can ‘only just kneel in’ and the host then told us it wasn’t suitable for an adult only a child. we tried to move the mattress downstairs to use
on the couch but discovered the mattresses are heavily stained and just gross.
on the surface the place appears clean but there were “used tissues and stuff” under the two beds pushed together as a double - the shower was so clogged with gunk it overflowed and we had to clean it out to use it and there was dripping oil
from the extractor fan above the stove. .We complained to Booking.com and showed them photos of the place and they agreed the matter was not at all satisfactory and the accommodation was not as advertised . Booking.com refunded us a small portion of the full amount we had paid to stay there.
- Revazthegreat (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is bigger than I expected, you have two full rooms and everything for comfortable staying. The place has huge kitchen, toaster, coffee maker, dish and clothes washing machine. There is a nice park near the place which is also a bonus. Host is a very nice man even though he doesn't speak English, we could manage the communication. It's a little bit far from the center, but it's Berlin, it has awesome public transportation. The apartment is on the first floor, it used to be a shop but now it's an apartment, it looks weird from outside, but it's nice from the inside.
- Daniel (7/5): Quiet location on a street where ordinary Berliners live - Close to transport but on a quiet residential street with lots of trees. Flexible host who was there to meet us even though we arrived a bit late. Flat well equipped with everything you need. Lots of space. Flat used to be a shop so is on the ground floor, with windows looking straight out onto the street. This doesn't encourage opening the windows and shutters, whch can mean the flat is a bit gloomy. On the other hand, anyone visiting Berlin is likely to be out all day anyway. There is small shop/cafe a few yards down the street, selling milk/bread and a bigger one further away. So anyone preferring to be close to lots of shops and cafes/restauants may feel this does not meet their needs.
- Filip (9/5): Overall we had a great time at this property and would recommend it to others! - 1. Friendly host.
2. Equipped kitchen
3. Heating, hot water
4. Good internet.
5. Two TVs (one with the ability of chrome casting)
6. Quiet place, easy transportation to all areas of Berlin
7. Supermarkets nearby. 1.It might have been cleaner( dust on shelves and upper surfaces).
2. There was no salt, pepper, and oil in the kitchen.
3. Pillows could be more comfortable.
4. Towels could be newer.
- Ashley (7/5): Comfortable place for the price - The apartment was very spacious - the best way to describe it was a one-bedroom with a kitchen and living space/ loft. It was clean enough and there was lots of storage and space to hang out in the evenings. The owner met us to make sure that we had everything that we needed. He was also quick to respond to questions beforehand. I wish that it didn't smell aggressively of sewer and I didn't like that it was a ground-floor apartment (the second one is a personal preference). However, I don't think the smell was the fault of the owner or establishment, just something that happens in old European buildings.
