• Trisha (8/5): Fantastic stay in an excellent location - highly recommend! - Such a clean and tidy house in an amazing location - close to shops, restaurants, bars, the train station, and the Acropolis. We had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend it. Our hosts were also very responsive and welcoming! We had some trouble opening the lockbox, however, our host quickly came to sort it out, which we were very grateful for. We also found the front door a bit difficult to open, but we got used to it eventually.

Man sieht, dass es mit Liebe eingerichtet wurde. Der kleine Innenhof mit Sitzmöglichkeiten ist ebenfalls sehr nett. Es sieht alles genauso aus wie auf den Fotos. Die Lage ist super, 10 Minuten zu Fuß zur Akropolis und 5 Minuten zur Ubahn (Fix). In der direkten Umgebung gibt es viele nette Lokale. Die Kontaktaufnahme mit den Gastgebern war einfach und unkompliziert, ebenso der Check-in. Wir können die Unterkunft definitiv empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder. Die Dusche ist etwas eng, aber das konnten wir bereits vorab auf den Fotos erkennen. :)

• Maria (10/5): Perfect stay in Athens - We had an amazing experience staying here. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Athens, within walking distance of all the main sights, restaurants, and transport. It made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable. The apartment itself was spotless. Genuinely one of the cleanest places we’ve ever stayed in. Everything felt fresh, well-maintained and thoughtfully prepared for guests. A special mention to the hosts, who were fantastic from start to finish. Communication was smooth, quick, and very helpful — even though we were staying during a national holiday, they were always available and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended, and we would definitely come back! P.S. We really appreciated the late check out and the coffee provided! :)

• Duygu (9/5): Lovely! - The apartment is lovely! The owners replied to messages very quickly, sent all the instructions one day before arrival, and shared great recommendations for restaurants and the city. You can find everything you need in the apartment. The fridge is located in one of the black-front cabinets. There are several coffee machines, coffee, all necessary kitchen equipment, and a hair dryer (separate ones for curly and straight hair, which was a nice touch). Although the apartment is in the basement, there is no smell at all, and the small garden creates a very cozy atmosphere. The location is incredible—we didn’t use any public transportation and walked everywhere to the main neighborhoods. The Acropolis is only an 8-minute walk away. Overall, the apartment was very clean, and we loved our stay! The only downside is that the sofa in the living room does not fully open into a proper bed, so it is not very comfortable if you plan to use it for sleeping. However, all the bed linens and bedding in the apartment were extremely clean and perfectly ironed.
• James (8/5): - Great location, not far from metro. Super close to Acropolis. Fantastic cafe two doors down. and plenty of other places for eats and drinks. Walking distance to everything. Amenity in the apartment was great and had everything there for a long stay. Although sunken below road had a courtyard and was quite and private. The shower wasn't always hot and so had only short showers and you have to manually turn it on each time which is a bit a pain. Shower was also very tiny and cramped.

• Alexander (10/5): Fully equipped apartment next to Acropolis - We were staying at Home away from Home for the second time, and plan to continue use this accommodation in the future: perfect location, fully equipped apartment, clean and comfortable, great communication with the hosts, and some additional services (as reliable transfer from airport, suggestions on local caffès, etc.) make this option our priority destination in Athens. • Kia (10/5): Fabulous home - it is well named. I hope to stay there again the next time I visit Athens. - Everything. Beautiful and comfortable renovated home. Absolutely perfect! I wish I could have stayed longer. Wonderful location with many eateries and the trendy coffee shops (with great coffee!) nearby. The hot water system is not the best. It turns off on you - or it runs out of hot water, before you can finish washing your hair.

• James (8/5): Fantastic for a city break. - Great facilities and utilities for any need. Brilliant location. Very comfortable and homely. Fantastic coffee shop around the corner from this property! Would highly recommend to stay within Athens where you’re close to Plaka, and some brilliant places to visit, but within a quiet area. The courtyard was great but completely shaded from the sun which was fine for us as we were rarely sat outside. However when we were, there were a lot of flies (maybe could get some bug repellent candles). The shower also needed a 20min warming period otherwise was very cold.
• Grampyg (9/5): Superb - Very clean modern basement apartment in great location for restaurants and shops. Acropolis about 400m walk at top of street, shops and restaurants about 100m down street. Short and easy stroll to Attica district. Didn't meet hosts personally during our 4 day stay but very clear communication. I'm sure would attend to any requests. Only small negative is the size of shower recess - don't drop the soap as you have to get out to pick up, but positives are many and we would definitely stay again.

• Robert (9/5): Perfect location to get around Athens! - Very modern and clean. Well stocked kitchenette! Loved that there was an ice pack in the freezer! So close to the Acropolis and restaurants! Hosts were available by text very quickly! They gave great instructions on how to get into the room. Coffee was provided and a cold bottle of water in the fridge ready for us. Air conditioning worked great! You need to turn the water on 45 minutes before you have a hot shower. Small shower, but that is pretty much what it is like in Greece!

The location was excellent and the hosts were very helpful with any requests we had including a great suggestion on where to store our luggage upon arrival near the unit until the room was ready. The bathroom was small and the shower stall very small, I think some people would have difficulty using it.

• Steven (9/5): Superb - The location was great, walking distance to shops, cafes, stores, hop on hop off bus andthe main attractions, Acropolis and Parthenon. It had all the facilities you might need kettle, fridge, coffee machine, washing machine etc and everything functioned as you would expect. The weather was hot when we were there and the A/C in both rooms was a godsend. George and Marita were great hosts. Nothing really, the shower could be a little "cosy" if you were a big person, but that is what it is.

The apartment is spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, providing us with valuable tips and ensuring we had a wonderful experience. The location couldn't have been better – within walking distance to all the major sights and with plenty of great dining options nearby. This neighborhood quickly became one of our favorites, feeling more local and vibrant than other touristy areas of Athens. Despite the intense heat during our visit, we always knew we could retreat to the cool comfort of the apartment; the air conditioning was excellent, allowing us to rest during the hottest hours of the day. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Athens. It's a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality that truly made us feel at home.

We loved this entire experience so much, we will never look for another place to stay whenever we’re back in Athens! This truly was like a home away from home It is a mere personal preference, so not exactly applicable - the bed was on the soft side and i am one of those strange people who like hard beds. That was the only thing that wasn’t amazing like everything else about the apartment

Perhaps the room scent was a bit too strong and it was sometimes a bit too dark (which in the summer could be an advantage). But overall the place is perfect for a couple.

• Dawn (9/5): A lovely apartment in a great location!! - The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was decorated nicely and the kitchen was well equipped; we made use of the kitchen to make breakfasts. The location was fantastic. It was close to the Acropolis and subway, but was much quieter than other more touristy areas. Another advantage is that the restaurants we found close by served delicious food at reasonable prices - until very late at night! The hosts were excellent communicators and very friendly. We were extremely happy with this accommodation. The apartment is a half a floor below ground. However, we still had plenty of light and there was a wonderful way to secure the apartment at bedtime or when we were out. Likely, it helped keep the apartment cool in the Athens' heat.

• Emma (10/5): Lovely apartment, perfect location and great hosts! - This is a fabulous apartment! Looks exactly like pictures and in an excellent location - only a 5 minute walk from the Acropolis/ the Acropolis Museum and a 20 minute walk from the Panathenaic Stadium / Temple of Zeus. The hosts were very helpful, making contact a few days before about how to access the property and accessible via WhatsApp at all times to provide recommendations and answer any questions. The property was very clean, beds were comfortable and super quick wifi. There is also Netflix on the TV which was great for watching and relaxing on sofa at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Would 100% recommend this property. If we visit Athens again, I would definitely stay here again. We also booked a transfer with the hosts to the airport and this was perfect - reasonably priced and arrived outside the property 15 mins ahead of the agreed time. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. Communication was great and being able to use the lock box is super convenient. Would definitely stay here again.
• Eleni (10/5): An oasis in Acropolis - What a great appartment, in the best neighborhood in Athens - whether you are staying for a couple of nights or longer, you have everything you need and you are surrounded by cute cafès, brunch spots and, well, the Acropolis! • Anne (8/5): Great location and cosy flat - Great communication from the hosts. Marita & George had very fast communication, gave great recommendations, and were very easy to connect with. Cute little flat - it is in the basement so does not get a lot of natural light. This was okay and we didn't mind this over the summer. Ideal location - very close to the south entrance of the Acropolis, which has far less lines. You cannot hear any street noise as well which is rare for Athens, but the walls are quite thin. Not the host's fault but you can hear neighbours showering or if you like to sleep in, can be woken up by the loud doors opening and closing as the apartment door is very close to the main building door as well. AC works perfectly, and nice big TV with netflix. Minor things: couch was quite uncomfortable to sit on, you can feel every spring. And also the shower in the bathroom was very small which made it quite difficult to move around/wash your hair. The drainage was also very slow and you can sometimes detect a musky sewage smell in the bathroom.
