Guest Reviews
- Abdalaziz (8/5): Very good -
- Suzy (6/5): Convenient and spacious but a few things missing - The location was pretty much unbeatable and the flat was quite a bit larger than I expected. It was nice to have somewhere with a bit of room in London! The decor and furniture was nice and the bed super comfy. Had all the amenities we needed including a washing machine which was great. The shower was awful. The pressure was barely even a trickle and you had to manually hold it because the holder had broken off which was terrible. Upon arrival the wifi didn’t work… there was no mention of trying to fix it or compensation.. just sorry it doesn’t work bye. I think this is pretty poor especially for travellers who rely on wifi to get by.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Location was amazing! Walking distance to 2 stations - Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Rd and right in the middle of the shopping street. Having a washing machine with dryer function was really handy as well. During our stay (Dec 2024), there were on going construction works in the adjoining neighbouring lot which made the laneway leading to the apartment entrance a bit messy. Noise did not affect us much as we were out most of the day when construction works were going.
- Jane (7/5): Good -
- John (1/5): Totally miserable no sleep no comfort and very noisy - Location Noise basic poor quality furnishings like a poor guest house
- Linda (1/5): Thankfully only 4 nights there. And we got a partial refund to cover cost of getting our own internet. - Nothing.
Cancel NOW go elsewhere No internet the entire time. Property refused all requests
Met another person staying there and they had the same problem.
Unsafe wiring
TV did not work -again no response from anyone, they even ignored Booking.com
Had to purchase our own data.
In the middle of a work site (no warning)
Homeless people sleeping at the door, I actually bad every time we left.
Unsafe location
Pay extra go elsewhere.
- Paul (7/5): Nothing more to add. - Location No internet so no TV etc.
Stairs no good for carrying suitcases.
No safe - needed this
- Christian (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (8/5): All in all, this property was great. The biggest benefit to it was the location and the space of the sleeping area. If I - The property had an insane location, bang in the centre of oxford street. Our apartment’s living/sleeping area was also very modern and the beds were really comfortable. Similar to other reviews, we had to ask for more toilet paper. The flushing also wasn’t great, and the bathroom and kitchen could have been more modern.
- Solo (2/5): Location and nothing else - Location, location, location—that’s one of the few highlights of this place. The view was pleasant, the radiators worked well, and, most importantly, the location on Oxford Street was excellent, with everything close by. The apartment was relatively clean and well-stocked with towels. Communication with the owner was fairly easy through WhatsApp, though they couldn’t assist us with storing belongings before check-in. The building entrance is through a side alley where elderly homeless people live with their belongings and garbage, creating a strong smell of urine. The neighboring building is under renovation, a detail not disclosed beforehand. Fortunately, we were out most of the day, but there was constant noise and dirt. The apartment, located on the fourth-floor attic, has no direct elevator access. You must take the elevator to the third floor, then climb two narrow flights of stairs through a long, narrow corridor and another flight to reach the apartment—very inconvenient, especially with luggage. Even without luggage, this exhausting route makes coming and going tiresome.
The noise from the street persists day and night, and the windows don't insulate well, even on the fourth floor. Light-blocking curtains would also be better, as the current ones are ineffective. The bedroom lacks a ceiling lamp and only has two night lamps. The TV didn’t work, the mattress was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were uncomfortable. The shower’s water stream is typically European, but the faucets are outdated and challenging to adjust for a steady temperature without extreme hot or cold.
We also had to wait around 15 minutes in the alley with homeless people and the smell of urine before check-in—a hassle with luggage. During our one-day stay, the owner requested to arrange a time for a renovation worker to come in, which felt inappropriate. I wasn’t comfortable with a stranger entering while my belongings were in the apartment, especially in a foreign country. I declined and scheduled his visit only after our departure.
- Helen (6/5): It was ok but there were lots of small details that needed improvement. - Location was good, property was spacious and clean. Entrance was down a side alley which didn’t feel very safe. We had to wait there about 15 minutes before someone came to let us in. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. The bathroom heater wiring was dangerous. The front room (where the sofa bed was) was very noisy. There was coffee provided but no tea bags. There was washing up liquid in the kitchen but no toiletries in the bathroom. The bracket which holds up the shower was broken and there was no plug for the bath.
- Amelie (9/5): Great service and location - The place is great, good space, comfortable mattress, clean and great location. That's more down to me, but London is always noisy and has a constant hum and city noises. The windows and walls are not overly thick, but it's pretty quiet. You'll only notice dome noise if you're a really light sleeper like me.
- David (7/5): Amazing location, great communication, some additional cleaning would help - Great communication. Easy access to apartment and location was perfect. Noise was not a problem however we were there over the weekend when construction was not ongoing Construction site has attracted some homeless people in alley to entrance of building. Apartment could use some cleaning around bathtub, ceiling fan and other areas that have been a little neglected
- Bernharrd (9/5): Only an overnight stay but excellent support from host. - Very central location, near to shops, restaurants and underground trains. Spacious, clean apartment. Quiet though on a busy street. wifi not connecting,
- Heidi (9/5): clean and comfortable - comfortable, great location with where we were going and spacious not knowing where the entrance was and what seemed like a while waiting down on a side road to be let in ,when maybe he only came from the shop we had previously been in,around the corner on the mainroad with many staff, but pleasant snd polite when he did turn up
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dinara (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (4/5): Disappointing -
- Yoav (1/5): Not worth the price. Very poor - Only the location No place to storage luggage, the person that was meant to come and open up the place was 2 hours late!! No hot water, no water stream, not enough toilet paper
- Gioele (8/5): Very good - Excellent position, underground stations and main attractions near the structure.
- Charlotte (1/5): Horrible, left early - In an alley with homeless people, toilet does not flush, door lock faulty
- Stephen (6/5): VERY central apartment and good value - Location was great, right in the centre of London. Lots around & about the property and very handy for my work in Soho.
This apartment would be absolutely fantastic for someone going out in central London and want somewhere to come back to without having to use taxis or public transport.
Good value As others state in their reviews there is a lot of street noise but that is to be expected as you couldn't be more centrally located. But to put some colour - the noise stops at about 2am and restarts at 5am. So if you are a light sleeper then this isn't the place for you.
Having to meet the key holder was inconvenient,
I assume that Threstle have multiple apartments so the photos are of all of them, not necessarily the one that you will be allocated to. The apartment I had had no TV in the living space, didn't really have a sofa at all. The TV was in the bedroom and was patchy.
Internet speed slow, not really usable for work. I had to tether to my phone.
It seems like I have written lots of negatives - I didn't mind the apartment but just want people to know what they are getting if they book it.
- Linachen84 (10/5): Perfect location, amazing bed, ideal for self-catering (long&short stay) - Second time I stayed here, different apartment same building and this was even better. The bed was still the same level of perfect, but the layout was even nicer and the window-facing meant it was a bit quieter than the previous one.
Kitchen had a huge fridge combo and the usual kettle/microwave/etc.
Towels and bedding was once again awesome soft. Imo there is no better place to stay when you want to go catch shows in Soho and self-cater during that time. The one thing this apartment did less awesome then the first one: less cutlery/kitchen ware items. You had all basics (spoons, forks, butterknives) but nothing "extra" like a sharp knife or a cutting board. I still made do and cooked my food :)
- Irena (7/5): Good -
- Trang (8/5): Great location - Very good location, friendly staff
- David (2/5): Very unsafe, electric cords, was like the hotel in the movie The Beach with Leonardo Di Caprio - Location was great. I was unsafe, my cpap machine kept making crackling noises from the power point. Tried another plug same problem. Heater collapsed in the middle of the night. Shower curtain was held by sticky tape which collapsed. Lift only reached level 3.
- P.gib500 (7/5): Good but - Bed was very comfortable. No cooling system, so room was hot. Windows did open but then privacy became an issue. Shower was slightly dangerous. Bath very slippery.
Entrance to apartment was via a lane under construction. Our apartment overlooked sn internal courtyard, so no outlook.
Stairs up from lift.
- Lisa (5/5): Great location, hot in summer, busy street at night, but handy wee place for few days - Location was good, average set up. Hosts was great to deal with, helped with our requests straight away. Bit dated, few things needed repair which made them harder to use. Very hot, fan didn't cool it much, and windows wouldn't stay open. Wasn't aware of how busy area was, alot of street noise at night.
- Florine (7/5): Good - Amazing location and great communication with staff There was no shampoo or showergel, the facilities were really limited except for the towels
- Per (3/5): If you care about location and price, but not about a clean hotel experience, it's good. - Location is great at affordable price. Near SOHO, Oxford Street, Oxford circle subway station and Chinatown. This is not a hotel. Rather like Airbnb. You have to organize with someone to let you in and deliver the keys. We waited maybe 15 mins outside.
Room was below expectation but probably in line with price level. The building and room experience was that it was dirty and there were pesticide boxes in the corridors. But the room was cleaned okay.
No breakfast was offered but good brunch places in walking distance.
Hair on the towels.
Fans, no AC, fans had to run all night with open windows to keep good temp. (outside day temp around 26 Celsius).
Recommend ear plugs, Oxford Street is busy.
- Vanessa (7/5): Good -
- Lucia (6/5): The location of the apartment was really good, but the apartment and the building it was in were old and run down. This - Awesome location, in the middle of Soho Run down apartment and building, no secure door lock to speak of. Had someone enter the apartment without notice or any kind of information by the property managers.
- Jordan (4/5): Staff was accommodating, however performed inspections, construction was very noisy and we left the place with a lot of - Not really anything, it was extremely overpriced. It didn’t have anything but the bare minimum, which is fine if you’re not paying the ridiculous prices they charge
- Suzanne (6/5): Amazing location with home comforts. - The room was ready early, the staff were lovely, the room looked great. The construction noise (wasn’t a pre warned). The noise of the lift in apartment 9 was loud until 1am and started again early.
- Linachen84 (10/5): Perfectly equipped, spacious apartment in amazing location - The apartment was absolutely perfect and communication beforehand was quick and smooth.
The place has everything I needed for an in-between stay (I had a weekend event somewhere else before and after my stay). The washing machine was great, the fridge was spacious, the kitchen was stocked with everything one needs for some quick meal prep to save money.
The bed and bedding was super comfortable!
Location is absolutely unbeatable, right between two subway stations, there is a tesco in a short walking distance. During my stay there was construction happening on the next door building, so finding the entrance was a bit harder than usual.
- Yasmina (8/5): in the heart of the city - exceptional location on oxford street,
nice furniture,
quite large apartement for such a touristic spot,
well equipped kitchen (not a lot of dishes);
the host was really nice and allowed us to leave our luggage at the apartement before the checkin and until 3pm after checkout be aware that the windows are not well insulated at all so you will hear the noise from the street (as if you're outside) but we didn't spend a lot of time in the appartement so it was ok;
the bathroom needed a bit of renovation but it still did the work
- Mohammad (10/5): Exceptional - Really spaced Great location easy for me access to underground
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Karin (5/5): Excellent location! - The location is truly the main bonus about this apartment. It is close to tube stations, approx 30min from Big Ben and other bigger sights. Tons of shopping around.
The host was easy to reach and fast with replies. We were provided early check-in and late check-out without extra fees and we are truly grateful to the host for this. Honestly, the state of the apartment was shocking. It is very old, dated, screws coming loose from things etc. The bathroom and kitchen areas were the worst. It definitely is in a worse state than is seen from the pictures.
The apartment just felt...dirty. And the noise coming from the windows 24/7 can be VERY disturbing to guests who want peace and quiet. We didn't mind the noise so much, but we could even hear a lot of loud talking and music from the street through our earplugs at 2am for example.
- Darrell (8/5): Very good - Great location
- Mike (5/5): Great location but the apartment needs some work for the high price. - Location. The heart of Soho and walking distance to everything. The apartment was very expensive but a little run down, but with some simple maintenance and work it could be great. Hard to find entry point on arrival. The expensive price reflects the location, not the apartment. Photos make it look better than what it is.
- Terri (8/5): fit my needs! - location wass great, little tricky to find but my directions host gave were spot on. There was construction going on early in the morning,
- Sandhya (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great Not well maintained. Washing machine but no dryer or drying facilities. When asked, promised but not given. Bathroom needs serious upgradation. As the tub has no plug and can only be used for shower, why not remove that death trap and give a skid free shower cubicle? Basin is cracked and there is no mixer. No bidet or sanitary toilet shower.
Room light blew within couple of hours. Also heating panel does not work so room has to be kept open for sitting room heat to reach.
In spite of these inconveniences we liked the place as its in such a convenient location and we were out 12 to 14 hours a day. But it does pinch to pay this amount and find that things which would cost so little are not upgraded.
- Wayne (8/5): Great location but a bit noisy with the construction work going on - More coverings on the window at night time
- Martin (8/5): Clean and comfy apartment in a great location in central London - The location was fantastic. The apartment was clean and comfortable and met all my needs for a one-night stay. It was easy to check-in/collect the keys, but future guests should be aware that they'll need internet access to be able to notify the apartment managers of your arrival. The bath/shower was not renovated to the same degree as the rest of the apartment (the shower head hung low and very close to the wall, making showering difficult). There was ongoing construction nextdoor which meant that there were loud noises throughout working hours, as well as closed streets (including the access route to the apartment) during some hours.
- Karabo (8/5): Ksm - Location is perfect 🥰 and very clean The Room was extremely hot, very hot 🔥
- Melanie (1/5): Bad -
- Stuart (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing. No stunning views but cozy and had everything we needed.
- Jenny (7/5): Good but not great - Fantastic location right in the heart of Oxford St - spacious apartment Fittings were only just adequate - ironing board but no cover, no toilet roll holder, no bathroom ventilation. Photos don’t match actual apartment eg no two seater sofa
- Alejandra (5/5): Normal Stay but close to the center in London - The Location is Great The Apartment Looked very different on the pictures when I Booked it. it is really close to everything but it’s very old and complicated to arrive. Definitely is not a place for somebody with difficulties for using stairs. The carpets on the living room and bedroom need cleaning. The windows would need a refreshment, it was very hard to open one and the air flow was not good enough to ventilate the apartment. Also as recommendation for future guests, since this apartment has kitchen and you able to cook, they should put essential elements for cooking like: oil, salt and pepper.
It was a passable experience but I think it is not worth the money / quality of the apartment and I would not book it again.
- Darren (9/5): Brilliant location something for everyone. - Location size and facilities.
- Christine (9/5): Superb - Exceptional location with good amenities. Staff were friendly and accommodating to requests. Construction next-door was a bit annoying for access but that was all. No noise complaints.
- Kevin (9/5): Great location, value for money! - The location was prime! Close to everything in london from Soho to shops to all restaurants! Ideal location!! If you are looking for good value for money, go for it if you are not picky on bathroom space etc..
- Amelie (10/5): Clean, comfortable and quiet, highly recommend! - The host was easy to get in touch with and showed me everything I needed. The place was clean and as advertised. But the most important aspect for me (who is a light sleeper) is that this place had a very comfortable mattress, firm enough but still very comfy, and also it is quiet at night! I don't know if it is the case for every room, but the one I was in had windows giving onto a little courtyard which is just the space between buildings, so it's away from Oxford street, and I couldn't hear traffic or people talking/shouting while going past. Also, it's not a hotel, so there's very limited passage in the corridor, which also helps in my opinion. Location is obviously great as well. I will definitely book this place again! The only thing I would say is, as most places now offer some kind of shampoo alongside soap, I would have liked for a bottle of shampoo to be there and available for me to use.
- Lis (9/5): Superb -
- Merlin (6/5): Pleasant - Location and comfortable bed Very loud
Windows dont open
Weak wifi
No coffee/tea available
- Maxime (3/5): Terrible appartment on Oxford street - Only location was incredible! No phonic isolation - it is like we sleep on the street - oxford street being noisy and building work during days just next door.
Curtains are almost transparent - so you wake with sunrise
Quite dirty especially common parts of building
Furnitures sub-par and sometimes broken.
Not like the pictures you see on website.
If you can avoid, try something else. Not worth it.
- Nenad (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (5/5): Passable - Well located. Could change to a second appartement. First appartement was absolutely not what we expected. Luckly we could change to another one. It was slighlty better.
- Matt (4/5): Dissappointing, and photos of the flat were not an accurate reflection - Location was very good, right on Oxford St The door to the building didn't have a number on it, so you have to stand in the lane and await for someone to pop out. Very noisy as building site next door. Shower was a hand shower off the taps, not an actual shower.
- Lisa (7/5): Good - Very central location in Oxford Street and easy walk to tube stations. Apartment ok .bathroom dated ,shower not great ... expensive for what it is ....you are paying for central location.
- Louise (7/5): Good -
- Noga (7/5): Good -
- Carleen (6/5): Pleasant - Location was amazing. Heating was good. It definitely doesn’t look as nice as the photos. The shower head doesnt have a holder and the water pressure was terrible. Needs full block curtains as the flashing advertising boards outside flash through all night. However the location makes it worthwhile.
- Tommy_tang (8/5): Very good - Great location to reach everywhere in London Town.
- Amanda (8/5): Great location. Quick communication. Terrible shower! - The location was perfect! Right on Oxford St. and close to shopping, restaurants and tube stations. The shower. They literally need to throw the entire shower head away and replace it.
- Martyn (4/5): Disappointing - see above (no hot water) - There was no hot water for the shower, none at all. It turns out I was supposed to have guessed that there is an unmarked switch (in the kitchen) which then slowly heats the water up with an immersion. I was only told this after I sent a message to ask for help, by which time it was too late for me because I was leaving the same morning.
- Israa (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect, separate kitchen, no carpet so no allergy, the flat was warm all the time
Definitely looking forward to come back. A bit old but in a good condition
- Alissa (8/5): Great stay - Everything A bit hard to find the apartment from the lift
- Renata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ροδοθεάτου (7/5): Good -
- Nawal (6/5): Pleasant -
- Christiana (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (3/5): Potential - Location and it was a good deal financially but would rather spent more and had a room with a toilet that flushes, ironing board with a cover, shower that doesn’t hang off unattached … Someone needs to spend time there with a drill and screwdriver and a few other tools and then it will be so mush better!
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - Location excellent on Oxford St. Close to Oxford circus tube and buses. In the middle of shops. Few minutes walk to Regent St and Bond St. Met on arrival by representative. Clear directions to apartment. Facilities inside good. Didn't affect us but difficult for disabled visitors if above 3rd floor. Lift to there and stairs.
- Ted (10/5): Great location - Easy
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (7/5): Great location and comfortable - some facilities could be improved - Great location along Oxford Street but also not too noisy. Heating worked well, bathroom was a nice size and space was comfortable for two people The washing machine didn’t work. The door didn’t shut properly which was fixed after messaging the staff, but it still didn’t work after that. A little disappointing as we had to wash everything by hand. The television also only worked sometimes.
- Saadet (8/5): Very good - Best Location
Warm
Clean The stairs are narrow
No elevator until the apartment so you need to use stairs after some point
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Alina (9/5): perfect place for one person or couple to stay in the heart of London. - the location is perfect, the apartments well equipped and cozy and quiet. No view from the window, and there where construction works in the building.
- Taia (2/5): Overly disappointing. Would not recommend. - Location to everything was great. It also wasn’t super noisy with it being almost right on Oxford street. Everything other than the location. It is located off an alley which we were okay with but still some sketchy people down there sometimes. Apartment didn’t have enough toilet paper and when we messaged the property they didn’t respond for over a day and we had to purchase our own. We also had the light in the bathroom go out and no one ever came to fix it so we showered and used the toilet in the dark most days. The response rate was the most disappointing issue with this place. It was over a holiday period that we stayed, but if you know you won’t have staff, either prepare and leave extra towels, toilet paper, etc. in rooms or have someone working.
- Chia-shan (8/5): Very good -
- Laiguille (9/5): Superb - The location The bed was a bit short for two adults with long feet
- Jordan (3/5): Never again - It was central, that’s about the only good thing. It doesn’t look like the images on Booking.com. It’s very tired, old, damaged in places, there’s nothing to hold the shower head up, the toilet kept running and wouldn’t stop, the windows are quite thin so lots of noise from the street, I couldn’t wait to leave…
- Hafssa (7/5): Good -
- Ellubett (7/5): Good -
- Sultan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebekah (7/5): Good -
- Paula (1/5): Stay away from this place - Location, easy pick up of keys. An absolute nightmare of a trip thanks to this booking!
What was supposed to be a fun girl trip end up being a horror. The issue with the property started on the second day when there was no warm water. We raised the issue with the representative and just got the information that someone came in and fixed it, without even notifying us that someone will enter the apartment.
The nightmare happened on the second night, when from 1AM to 3AM someone was trying to break in, putting key to the locks and trying to open them, banging etc. We got scared to the point of calling police. When police arrived they took a look at the door and said they are not safe and we should not stay in this apartment any longer! Booking did not took any responsibility in relocation us - "Breaking in does not fall under relocation". The property manager also did not take any responsibility, came 2hs later with a BAG OF KEYS and tried to find a key that matched other lock in the door.
We had to pay for the night in other place as we were too scared to stay there. The refund that we received is enough to cover a meal in McDonalds and not a last minute hotel.
Do not reserve this if you want to have a chill weekend in London, but if you want to get killed - go ahead.
- Asaad (7/5): Excelent location, good space area for 2 persons and good value - Very close to all shopping centers , Metro and bus A bit nosy due to directly on Oxford main road
In the last floor level
Narrow corridor cannot accommodate my bag width
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ale (10/5): Exceptional - Evrything
- Yuval (9/5): had a wonderful time. - lovely comfortable apt. incredible location.
- Anonymous (7/5): Family room on 4th floor was just the right size. A little stuffy as windows had to be closed to cut off the noise from - IT’s location The narrow staircase and creaking floorboard.
- Calum (1/5): 0/10 - Nothing. Don’t be fooled by the name or location of this property - simply not worth booking. We had booked this property for 3 nights. We reluctantly stayed one night and booked new accomodation for the rest of our trip. To access the property we walked down an alleyway that smelled like urine to a dodgy looking back entrance. A person met us and let us into the apartment which was fine although looking back he did seem very keen to show us and get out of there before we asked any questions. The apartment itself didn’t look like the photos advertised. The wifi was terrible. The toilet after one flush took about 20 minutes to refill and you could hear it trickling from the living area. The shower had visible mould and the hose was broken so the water pressure was almost non-existent and it was either a scorching hot or ice cold dribble. The couch was filthy. The roof paint/panel was peeling off. I feel like they have used the name Oxford Street by Threstle to make it sound like a legitimate accomodation provider however I’m sure it wouldn’t pass a health inspection. Disappointed that booking.com would allow this to be advertised on their website.
- Nino (10/5): Exceptional - Location is super! view is not good
- Vandith (8/5): Very good -
