Chung (1/5): Burglary at the apartment - luggage damaged and wallet stolen. Horrible Experience!! - Horrible experience in this property!!! Someone went into the apartment, damaged our luggage and took my wallet in one luggage ( with a significant amount of cash, IDs and credit cards). The windows were locked and the door lock was not broken. It is highly suspicious that someone went in with the keys. This happened during the day before our departure. It seems like someone knew our departure date such that we did not have enough time to follow up. At check in, we were reminded not to bring much cash when going out and it was fine to leave valuable things in the apartment. It was also intentionally hinted to us that the door would automatically lock by itself. After the incident, owner never picked up the phone after the first call. Her assistant who checked us in was unreachable and avoiding our calls!! The owner's business partner came to the apartment next day. All she did was yelling at my wife in front of the kids ( while I was at the police station to deal with the case) that it was our own responsibility for someone stealing my wallet in the apartment. My wife said we suspected someone came in with the keys. The owner and business partner were very defensive and threatening us to hire a lawyer against us. We were devastated and could not sleep well even until now. My wife is depressed and the kids are completely frightened. We would not recommend this place to anyone as it is not a safe place to stay according to our experience. A previous comment by other travelers who stayed at this apartment also shows that someone went into the apartment with the keys during their stay!! Luckily the travelers were in the apartment at that time. A response to the owner's comment: we first filed with the police at the night of the burglary, not the next day. We continued to call you because you only picked up our first call and avoided our calls afterwards.
