Guest Reviews
Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin.
- Amanda (10/5): Excellent location and beautiful, spacious apartment - The apartment was excellent and in a great location. Dorsoduro is a quieter area of Venice and lovely to return over the Accademia Bridge when a busy day has been had. The furniture in the apartment is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Was nothing not to like.
- susanne (10/5): great - easy checkin, close to vaporetto-stop, good walking distance to a lot of sights, museums, supermarket/s, bars ..., friendly and helpful host, well-equiped flat.
- Grazyna (10/5): Good value in a perfect location. - Location, spaciousness, balcony, comfort. Very accommodating and friendly host. Third flight with no elevator.
- Kerry (8/5): A very enjoyable stay in the heart of Dorsoduro - This is a quaint and beautifully furnished apartment in a fantastic location in Dorsoduro. It is just around the corner from the Peggy Guggenheim gallery and a host of restaurants. The kitchen is modern with many appliances and useful things. The bathroom is very small but modern and there is good hot water for showers. The main bed was extremely hard and resulted in bad backs. There were few pillows, all very flat. We found one spare in the cupboard, but had to purchase another one to be able to get any sleep.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Attractive modern apartment especially suitable for families - The Appartamento Rio de la Fornace provides comfortable and convenient accommodation for up to four persons. As it is on the third floor and benefits from large windows and high ceilings, it is unusually bright and airy. It is in very good condition and is well equipped. Indeed there is a clothes washer as well as a dishwasher.
The location of the apartment calls for comment. Because the apartment is a short walk from two very useful vaporetto ("water bus") stops and the Accademia bridge over the Grand Canal, it is conveniently located for reaching many places in Venice. However, individuals who are not familiar with Venice may struggle both to find the apartment and to benefit fully from the Vaporetto services. For that reason, among others, the apartment may not be a good choice for travellers who plan to stay only briefly in Venice.
Although the apartment is in a relatively modern building, the neighbourhood has plenty of character as well as small restaurants and cafés.
Interestingly, the apartment is very near to a little-used Vaporetto stop offering direct service to the Giardini, one of the two principal locations of the Biennale. Potential guests should be aware that the apartment is on the third floor and that there is no lift/elevator. They should also be aware of the absolute maximum of four persons including infants and small children.
- Francesca (10/5): Perfection - Best apt I’ve ever stayed in Venice. Great communication. Quiet. Great location. Can’t wait to come back No full length mirror - literally only little thing!
- Dana (1/5): A big disappointment! Amd for sure we would not reccomand it to anyone, nor would we ever be back to stay here. - On Booking.com it looked nice, however once arrived realised there is not enough toilet paper for the 3 days we were there for. There was bad internet connection. And at night we could not sleep as there were many mosquitoes. There was nothing to spray for mosquitoes or kill them, like a pluggable devise or any chemical. We were bitten badly and have the marks still to show. The furniture is very old and dated, with broken chair in the livingroom.
The TV is not a tv is a computer monitor, it is very small.
There was no capsules for the coffee machine, nor any coffee.
The internet was bad but most of all the mosquitoes and the fact that Nina, even if in previous reviews it was specified there were mosquitoes, left nothing to kill them with, other than s plastic palm to try and catch them with, but nothing effective!
The walls were full of dead mosquitoes and blood as many other people staying here have also killed many of them by hand in order to be able to rest and sleep a bit at least, without being constantly bitten by them.
To add to this lady has been in contact excessively and always referring to her Rule folder and so it made our stay very unpleasant!
One thing she mentioned constantly was the rubbish and how if we don’t remove it she will charge 50 euros!
And it wasn’t even our last day when she was chasing about this ! Together with the night tax for being in Venice! Like 30 euros would have been something worth chasing when I paid over 700 euros for 3 night at this property!
I had to make her aware yesterday that she is spoiling our holiday by giving me yet another set of instructions that she had mentioned previously and that was already available on Booking.com.
Also she did not communicate via Booking.com, but via WhatsApp! Which made it a lot less professional!
I would not recommend this flat to anyone.
Unless you want to ruin your holiday and be bitten excessively by mosquitoes.
As it is visible in the attached pictures.
- Anonymous (8/5): This was our first visit to Venice. The magnificence of the City was well complemented staying at this beautiful, simple - Location is excellent. Beautiful, comfortable 2 bedroom apartment in a safe, quiet and trendy neighborhood near all the attractions of St Mark square. Excellent restaurants nearby and away from the crowds. Although it did not directly affect us, it is important to be aware of the property location on a third floor with no elevator.
- Hanna (9/5): Great apartment for a reasonable price - Everything was great: apartment was clean, spacious and well-stocked with basic supplies. The host is friendly and responded quickly. The keys were in a lock box - easy to pick up at any check-in time. There are a supermarket and public transportation stops near by.
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Was comfortable, felt very Venitian, air con was superb, location great Only one small 3 seater setteure. Would have preferred another comfortable chair / settee
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (5/5): Good size, clean property but the beds need to be more comfortable. - The property was a good size , clean and had 2 good size bedrooms and a good bathroom. The living area was lovely and the couch comfortable. The location/area was quiet and there was plenty of light coming into the property. Getting to the property was a challenge because the directions were not great. We found a simpler more direct route that made is easier for us to find. The 2 beds were extremely hard and we could not sleep in them without using quilts on top of the mattress to get some relief from the discomfort of the seriously hard bed! The property needed kitchen cooking utensils and pots with lids for cooking.
- Linda (9/5): Nina was very caring and responsive to all our questions and needs. Easy communication on whatsapp. - The location is great. Close to vaporetto stops in all directions as well as close to the Academy Bridge. A very quiet place away from the crowds. View from the window to the garden. I definitely recommend it for both work and family vacation trips, because the 2 separate bedrooms create a spacious and bright feeling. Not a sign of the musty smell so common in Venice. Fighting mosquitoes
- Stephanie (9/5): Comfortable, clean, well equipped apartment. Quiet location. Easy to contact host. Highly recommend. -
- Bojan (9/5): Superb -
- Krzysztof (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment.
- Catherine (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Nina was very helpful and contactable by WhatsApp, before and during stay. Easy key collection from lockbox with clearly numbered keys for ease. Apartment easy to find. Exactly as described. Comfortable living area and well appointed kitchen. toiletries/washing up liquid/washing machine liquid and basics like sugar/salt/pepper provided. Capsule coffee machine and 2 stovetop coffee makers. Large fridge and freezer.
Nina quickly provided additional pillows on request.
Delightful outlook, with sky and rooftops from living room, and dual aspect balcony accessed through main bedroom looks over a garden and a monastery converted into a ?6th form college. I need an open aspect to be happy. Quiet Neighbours always a bonus.
Quiet residential area with friendly residents but very close to Zattere and Accademia vaporetto stops. We got water taxi to take us from and to airport dropping us at Spirito Santo vaporetto stop, for ease with our luggage.
Nina had left clear instructions for waste disposal and directions to the garbage disposal boat placements which need to be used for domestic waste and recycling by 8.30 am. We usually find beds firmer in Italy than at home so it takes a while to adjust.
More mosquitoes than we expected at this time of year, so needed to buy mosquito burners- not really a reflection on the apartment though, more our lack of foresight.
- Anonymous (9/5): great. thanks. - great and very helpful host. Beautiful and clean appartment with everything you need. no dogs allowed
