- JP Ludlow (7/5): Quirky apartment. - Good location.
Comfortable beds.
Nice shower. Some areas could have been cleaner.
Shortage of electric sockets.
Plug in air freshener was overpowering...we took it out.

- Giulia Mi12345 (1/5): MAI PIU'!!!PESSIMO SOGGIORNO. - Nulla. Casa estremamente BUIA e SPORCHISSIMA! SPORCA SPORCA!!
- Gill (9/5): Great location with a quirky, historical edge. - Brilliantly located and felt like you were living in a piece of Florentine history. Very well equipped and the courtyard area is a nice touch. The owners have been brilliant at communicating. We liked its whole quirkiness but some may find not having A/C in the warm summer months a challenge.
- Silvia (9/5): Superb - Really nice apartment with lovely outdoor space in santa spirito. Na
- Marina (8/5): Very good - The location is excellent, in the center, but not in a crowded place. The house is old and very attractive, there is a beautiful place in the courtyard. The owner is very helpful and friendly. The apartment is quite small and cramped. The ceiling is low, the windows are small, and you really don't know if it's day or night outside. In my opinion, there is a lot of unnecessary furniture in it. I'd like to remove the CD boxes and the whole area next to them, the little table that's just for tripping
- George (10/5): Five star - Everything. Nothing
- Stephen (8/5): A quirky delight in Oltrarno... - This property is quirky and it is a definite delight. The apartment has been redecorated and fitted out in a particular way. It is ground floor and easily accessible - a few steps at the entrance to the building. There is a small terrace which is very convenient and comfortably appointed. The neighbours are friendly albeit private. Everything works. The location is amazing. The restaurant I'Raddi, just around the corner, is a must (NB 5€ lunches). The wee playpark is a relaxing space even when the children are at play. The location in Oltrarno is convenient to all the major attractions. Shops, markets and Conad are all close by. Rubbish collection bins are on the street just across the Via Serragli. Our host, Dario, was easy to contact and prompt in responding. This is Florence and so remember that there are bells - which we love! The bathroom is fitted with a bidet - never to late to learn for those who don't already do. The bedroom configuration is the big issue. The photos clearly show the 'challenge'. First, the mattress on the bed IS COMFORTABLE - just to clarify some comments we read beforehand. The real problem is the amount of space (or lack of it) on either side of the bed. In practice, there really is no way of conveniently getting in and out of the bed from either side. Some flexibility, athletic skill and a touch of acrobatics is the best way to enter and leave the bed from its bottom end. A small side note - as a same-sex attracted male couple, the number of nubile female forms with perky breasts was just a bit much - still, art is art!
- Gary (5/5): Great location - Artsy and fun decor. Large convertible sofa. Terrace is very small. Bed is very small.
- Kathy (7/5): Dario responded quickly regarding the door, but asking him to come over every time it needed to be shut seemed bothersom - Terrace door was hard to close. Washing machine didn’t work. Toiletries non existent.
- Anika (6/5): Pleasant - Location, cute & quirky property Moldy smell, kitchen could have been better equipped, rude neighbours, loud on weekends
- Siobhán (10/5): Exceptional - Great central location in an area that is not busy with crowds. Great local restaurants and shops. Accessing the apartment was very very easy. The apartment was very cosy and cute and had everything we needed.
- Aleksandra (10/5): Original Florence accommodation on the door of all main touristic points - If you want to explore Florence at its best, this appartment is your choice. Near all main points, on walking distance to everything. You don't need additional money for taxi, public transport as you can reach everything on foot. Across the street, artisan stores with home made cheese and salamis, bars, gelateria - all very near.
The appartment itself is equipped with everything, very originally furnished, with specific details.
In short, hosts make you feel at home.
- Eleanor (4/5): Very dark place with bad bed and difficult shower. - This place is in a quiet neighborhood not far from the central tourist stuff; just walked over the river and a few blocks up. Had a nice café nearby. The building was ancient and atmospheric: thick stone construction and a huge heavy front door to a hallway with soaring ceiling, but so dark it was hard to navigate. The weather was quite warm, but the thick stone kept this comfortable enough inside. There was no AC unit. Fans only.
The kitchenette looked usable, but we didn't have plans to use it. The living/dining space was roomy enough, though again very dark. The bed was very uncomfortable - drooping in the middle, inadequate pillows and tucked in an alcove with no side access. The shower was pretty awful, too: bump-your-elbows-with-every-move tiny.
Yes, there's a courtyard, but the unit just had a table under cover (upstairs deck?) and inside a fenced plot maybe 6-by-10.
- Florentin (7/5): Normal conditions. - Very good location It was ok
- Malachy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alejandro (10/5): Exceptional - Hand decoration amazing!
- Chris (3/5): Avoid - I can only imagine the apartment owner has been buying reviews as to suggest this apartment is any more than a 3 is insane and i worry for their conditions at home if not, once you get into the apartment after deciphering the unnecessarily convoluted instructions on retreaving the keys, you will be hit with the smell of old furniture, wet dog, poorly cleaned fabrics and general lack of cleaning. There is unnecessary clutter around the place and its clear there is an ability to tell the difference what is and isnt tasteful and useful.
You then find the bedroom which has a very cheap uncomfortable mattress and bedding with dirty old pillows as thick as 3 pieces of paper (I suppose there is the yellow musty pillow in the wardrobe with no cover but the smell was enough to keep that closed at all times.)
Even then we decided to persevere (with little alternatives available locally). Then come to use the shower, to enter and exit the shower you are to step onto a grey (was once white) mat infront of the toilet that looked and smelled...grim, not great when you are wanting to feel clean, then the towels ( I will give the benefit of the doubt and say they were washed) they smelled so musty we couldn't even use them as the smell was overpowering and the opposite of feeling clean. It had clearly been sat wet for along time before drying.
After the 2nd night waking up itching with new bites we were done. Paid an extortionate amount to book into a local hotel and got the hell out of there.
I informed the owner who stated the cleaning is usually perfect but that is clearly not the case, from the responses from the owner to other negative reviews i have since read, they will clearly rubbish my claims as some bizarre and unwarranted attack as they have others. I don't go out of my way to have miserable experiences, and I give a lot of leeway on circumstances out of the control of hosts or where personal preference is to be taken into account.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Great location, good value for money, and a spacious living room. No room around the bed, very cramped shower and toilet space.
- Joanne (10/5): A perfect base for the solo traveller in beautiful Florence - Perfect for the solo traveller. The little apartment is a great base for Florence and surrounding areas. A 15 walk to SMN trains and around the corner from lively Santo Spirito.
- Zuzana (8/5): Very good - Everything was OK.Thank you
- Alex (7/5): Good - Location
- Hector (7/5): Good -
- Zorana (7/5): Lovely town, nice memories forever, many things to see - Nice location, near to river, nice are outside with plants, friendly staff It was so hot all the time, we could not sleep, there was no air conditioning, only fans. Bathroom is so old, shower fixed without possibility to chamge position of water.
- Grosianna (6/5): Pleasant - Great location!
The apartment is peaceful and quiet.
Very nice hosts, it was not a problem to pick up the key before check-in time and leave the luggage.
The temperature inside was pleasurable during hot days Unclean bathroom. The black mold was on the bathcurtain and on the tiles in the shower, what was really disgusting. Because of the mold the rate is so low.
The apartment is really dark, almost no sunlight
