Guest Reviews
- Nicola (9/5): Great location, very spacious and lovely to stay in a historic palazzo - Great central location Not a problem for us but even with the lift there are a number of stairs to manage with cases which could be a problem for some, so prospective clients need to be made aware.
- Carla (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location in the city centre. The bed and shower were amazing. Absolutely recommend
- Rajesh (7/5): Good -
- Ines (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional Stay in a Historic Gem
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Apartment Othello, located in a charming historical building, and it was an unforgettable experience. The apartment was clean, showcasing tasteful pieces of furniture that perfectly complemented the historical ambiance of the building.
Despite being situated close to major sights it was a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Patrizia, the owner, was exceptionally responsive to any extra wishes and went out of her way to ensure our stay was comfortable. Her helpful and accommodating nature truly enhanced my experience.
I highly recommend Apartment Othello for anyone looking to enjoy a blend of historical charm, modern comforts, and top-notch hospitality.
- Amelia (9/5): Superb - I was like a princesse who lived in the castle - antique, elegant, fancy. Everything was ok. Very clean.
- Gail (10/5): This was a palatial apartment. Great location! -
- Zabor (7/5): Rustic, intriguing stay in the heart of Tuscany; good value. - Great location in the heart of Florence, two blocks from the Duomo and a block from the Galleria. Room was very spacious. Bed was comfortable, location quiet. Appears to be an old family palazzo which has been turned into a B&B. Rustic, eclectic. Interior looks like it came out of the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" There are a few quirks. You need to travel two small sets of stairs to get from the elevator into the apartment, and another few stairs to get to the bathroom once inside the apartment. The elevator is small. I found the hallways dark. I would say maybe not for someone who is mobility-impaired. But if you're open to something that feels real, this apartment is quite delightful.
- June (10/5): Fun place to stay and great staff and position recommended - Great position and interesting to place to stay and spacious and comfortable and a lovely lift Could do with a bit better kitchen
- Carmina (9/5): Wonderful location and host is very friendly - The location and the space None
- Mohamed (9/5): We enjoyed the location. The place is absolutley beautiful. Good value for money. - The location is great, bed conforable, spacious, supermarket downstairs. The pressure of the water in the shower was very low
- Corcoran (9/5): An awesome experience in Florence and the location of this apartment was perfect! - The location was perfect and the space was huge. Really a wonderful stay for us. The shower was not great. Very little pressure.
- John (9/5): Superb - Location location location. Close to trains and attractions with plenty of restaurants No English channels on TV. Also A/C above desk leaked water/ maybe condensation but likely water as other A/C did not drip. Our laptop and IPAD got soaked. Thankfully we caught it before any damage. Easy fix we moved the table from under the A/C. Surely they will fix it. Probably nobody ever reported it. I would stay again. Host was great and would stay again. Large space.
- Nikolas (10/5): It was heaven! Perfect location, brilliant host, historical flair… - Absolut brilliant place to stay in Florence. Enjoyed every second; so look no further and book this jewel!
- Akzer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Great stay in the middle of the city! - Beautiful big apartment, check in and check out was easy, great location. Nothing
- Lonnie (10/5): This apartment was a fest from a busy day in Florence where we could regroup and go back out again refreshed. - The decor and history of this apartment was incredible! We liked everything.
- Iwona (8/5): Very good -
- Radu.bogdan (10/5): Beautiful Florence - We wanted to visit Florence for so long and stay in the heart of city so for 6 days we've wisely choose this location (Palazzo Tolomei) which is is nothing short of amazing.
Our apartment "The Otello / Verdi", was quite beautiful preserving the old style, with good taste, being extremely spacious and bright, cozy and very quiet structure despite being located practically in the historic center.
The bed was good for our taste since we like tougher mattresses, they also have a sofa in the second room which is also relaxing, especially after a long day spent visiting.
The kitchen was ok, but we choose not to cook inside, instead we wanted to experience all the delicious/tasty food, experimenting various restaurants all around.
Indeed there are ~10 minutes walking to San Lorenzo, the Duomo etc., with a large variety of of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, bakeries, gelato, grocery shops and other shopping stores in the street.
Patrizia was our host, she was very kind and also offered suggestions on what to visit or various things to do in this gorgeous city.
The location is also 10 minutes walk away from the train station which is also convenient.
Grazie mille! :) N/A
- Amal (9/5): Amazing - Patricia the owner contacted us a day ahead of our check in to confirm the time of our arrival and connected me with the guy who’s responsible for check in. We were going to check in at 10:00 pm so Patricia accommodate the late check in for an extra fee of 30 euro. Marco the person that handed the keys to us was by the apartment on time and helped us with our luggage even though there is an elevator.
The apartment itself is a 10 min walk away from the train station and a 5 min walk away from el duomo. Excellent location! With coffee shops, bakeries, grocery shops, restaurants and other shopping stores in the street. The apartment itself is made up of a shared living room in addition to a private living room, private bathroom, private kitchenette and a bedroom. The private area is huge! My friend and I stayed there but the place could have easily fit 2 other people.
The bathroom we squeaky clean, the toilet was sanitized and sealed, there was a shower gel bottle and soap in the bathroom with towels for both od us. The water in the shower was flaky. Sometimes it didn’t run and I had to work the knobs abit to figure out the shower. Some written instructions would have been helpful.
- Prayong (9/5): modern facilities in an historical building - the space nothing
- Charles (9/5): Wonderful but more expensive than expected - The location. The calm. It is comfortable and well equipped.
We really like our staying in this place. The extra cost for late arrival not descripted. And the 5 messages just after booking to try to make us cancel (with no refund of course).
- Bronagh (4/5): location was very good. - location communication
- Ros (9/5): Historical apartment in Palazzo - perfect location. - Perfect location and the building (Palazzo Tolomei) is wonderful. Less than 5 mins to San Lorenzo, the Duomo and the Market - huge choice of restaurants, bars and cafes on the doorstep. Apartment is spacious and comfortable and full of wonderful historic features. Patrizia communicated excellently and was there to meet us with a smile even though it was much later at night than anticipated because of a delayed flight.
The apartment description does point out the very basic kitchen - great for making hot drinks and breakfast but not much more. Useful to have it. The lift is useful but you do then need to go down about 10 steps, up a couple and down a few more. Once inside the apartment there are steps up to the bathroom. My elderly mother did find these a challenge.
- Catriona (4/5): Disappointing - location was surprised it had such a high rating .
photos are debatable
- Sophia (9/5): Charming and serene - This apartment is in a building that houses a hotel on the first floor and apartments on second. It is walking distance away from most of the great sights in Florence - not once did we take a taxi or tram to visit places. It is a little further away from the airport which can be accessed by taxi or train for 1 euro. Although the streets outside the apartment are busy and loud, once you're inside the apartment is quite and serene, perfect getaway after a long day of sightseeing. The apartment is spacious and air-conditioned - all of which were deeply appreciated on the very hot days.
