Guest Reviews
- Gillian (10/5): We had a super stay. The balcony was fabulous - Location Balcony Nothing
- Janet (10/5): - We enjoyed the apartment which had everything we needed for our stay including a kitchen and washing machine to go with the nice balcony. Leonardo was very kind and helpful. The location was also nice being close to the station, river, and all of the sites. While it did not bother us and we knew ahead of time, the bathroom is snug.
- Tomek (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - It was great to have an apartment for our four nights while we explored Florence. The outdoor area was fantastic!
- Robin (9/5): Excellent compact apartment ina good location with very helpful host. - There were many little extras that made this a good place to stay. The host was very helpful and the extra provisions in the kitchen made us feel very welcome. Excellent location and the balcony was wonderful. The bathroom is very small, though still perfectly functional, and we could her most of he movements and conversation from the upstairs flat. But these were not major issues, we felt quite comfortable.
- Gyongyi (10/5): - A traditional italuan apartment with a fascinating balcony, perfect location to visit the city. Nothing. Just to inform future travellers, the apartment is located on the 3rd floor without elevator.
- Julie (8/5): Good apartment in a good location - The location was great, close to both the train station and the city center, and having a balcony was nice. The apartment is well stocked and the host was very responsive. The restroom is extremely small so this is different for average or larger folks. Apartment is on the 3rd floor so be prepared to climb the steps.
- Trudi (10/5): Lovely balcony. Good position to explore Florence - A very traditional apartment with a beautiful balcony. We spent most of our time on the balcony. Our host Leonardo was very responsive. The apartment was well equiped on the third floor of an older building. In a great position to explore Florence.
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you to Leonardo, who is generous and helpful. We were given a welcome basket as a treat. Our inquires were promptly answered by him. Nothing we didn't like. Just for information for future travelers, the apartment is on the 3rd floor and there is no lift. The bathroom is small.
- Joseph (4/5): Will not rebook. - Close to the train station (convenient) but we were told by our waiter and others MOT to be on the street after dark. Rough area. Furniture uncomfortable. Mosquitos and other bugs in property. Construction going on all day every day directly above us. Noise was unbearable. Jackhammering and concrete drilling is what it sounded like all day.
- Alexander (10/5): A great stay and a wonderful host. - The location was ideal to visit the centre of Florence.
The balcony was a lovely addition as well and looks better in person, in my opinion.
The bed was comfy, bathroom was a good size, as was the kitchen and living space.
Instructions on check out were clear, and the host met us when checking in. He also showed us around and answered any questions. Nothing to speak of.
Everything was well laid out.
We'd happily stay again.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - An nice well equipped apartment with a nice trattoria opposite and only 10 - 15 min walk to the city centre. There are also plenty of of local shops nearby so you can easily stock up the kitchen. Leonardo met us at the property and helped to carry our cases up the staircase. Leonardo also took 30 mins to explain how everything worked. Leonardo was also a responsive and helpful communicator via use of Whatsapp giving clear and easy instructions on how to fin the apartment. Nothing comes to mind.
- Neil (10/5): Warm welcome, and loved the balcony. - Leonardo left us snacks and showed us how everything worked in apartment and getting in and out of entrance
Leonardo also helped us with our luggage up the stairs. Apartment clean and cosy. Only a five minute walk to station which was great. Easy walking distance to eating etc.
- Maria (10/5): Perfect place for our trip! - The apartment had everything we needed and all clean and perfect! We had a couple.of.dinners and breakfasts in the balcony which was very quiet and comfortable. Leonardo was very nice with us and we spent a great time there. He had few details, like a wellcome kit, olive oil and coffee left in the appartment which we very much enjoyed! In case of coming back to Florence, we would definetly come back to this appartment. All perfect!
- Sánchez (7/5): Good - Great location, good value for money, has everything you need to spend a few days in Florence. The balcony is a bonus and amazing for having breakfast/dinner al fresco. A/C was on upon arrival which was greatly appreciated in the peak of summer. The sofa in the "living room" was a bit battered.
- Martin (10/5): Lovely place to stay in the centre of Florence, with a great private balcony. - The balcony was lovely, location excellent. Generally a great base for exploring, and close to the station too.
Would love to stay again sometime.
- Lucas (7/5): Great location, property was a bit dated but functional. Bedding could/toiletries could have better -
- Melissa (10/5): Great stay - Balcony and general space. Amazing facilities. Leonardo thought of everything
- Jacinta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liviu (8/5): I highly recommend - First of all, it should be stated that the location is very close to the train station in Florence SMN
It is not easy to identify the entrance, but Leonardo came out to meet us, so we had no problems.
The location is on the 2nd floor of the building on a narrow staircase and difficult to climb with bulky luggage!!!
Again, Leonardo was helpful, so we didn't have a problem here either.
The location is charming (corresponds to the description on the website) and indeed the balcony is the piece of resistance. If you will stay one or two nights, I don't think you will have time to enjoy breakfast or coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening on the balcony, but for a longer stay it is a perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries!
The kitchen is equipped so that those who are interested can prepare their own food.
Being in the old center, the location allows access to all the tourist attractions on foot.
The days we spent in Florence were pleasant also thanks to this accommodation, which I warmly recommend.
However, there are also some aspects that I noticed and that I can pass to the downside of the description: First of all, the neighborhood is one with all kinds of characters that we found on the stairs in front of the entrance... I can't say that we had problems with anyone, but maybe for two young tourists the situation could be different, especially as the door from the entrance to the staircase it is hard to close and then there is a narrow hall with stairs....
In the apartment, the bathroom is very small and narrow. To get to the toilet, you have to squeeze between the bidet and the radiator... If you are a bigger person, this can be a challenge!
Also in the bathroom, above the mirror is a lamp whose transformer emits a loud and annoying hum. Especially at night it is very unpleasant. I don't think replacing the lamp or the transformer will be a problem...
In the bedroom there are 2 large and firm pillows (in our opinion) for the bed. At least a small personal pillow would have been desirable!
As in all of Italy, the soundproofing of old buildings is non-existent, so we could hear the neighbor above as if he were in the room with us...
- Ronda (10/5): Leonard's beautiful apartment - The location is fantastic, very close to the train station and an easy walk to the main attractions. The apartment has everything that you need and Leonardo is a wonderful host and helped us out with anything we needed. There is a book of information which is great and the WiFi works brilliantly. The balcony is lovely, is very large and is perfect for eating out on or just unwinding with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Nothing we didn't like. But as a tip, other people have mentioned it is on the top floor, so keep that in mind, as after a long day exploring it can be tough on your legs.
It is a quite building during sleeping hours but it's an old building so expect noise from apartments around you and the general hustle and bustle of a city. If you are not used to city noise best to bring ear plugs.
- Jocelyn (9/5): Superb -
- Littlegeneric (10/5): Amazing stay in Florence!! - We loved our stay in Florence! The location was within walking distance of the main Florence attractions, but far enough away to avoid some of the craziness of the Florence crowds. The balcony was an amazing place to plan the day, enjoy a cup of coffee, and relax. It worked well for us as a home-base as we took day trips into Tuscany and explored Florence. If you get a chance, we'd recommend spending some time across the river in piazza Santo Spirito as well. : ) Overall, highly recommend, especially for couples. Not an issue for us at all - but there are a lot of stairs to climb (no elevator), just important to keep in mind when booking. I'd still highly recommend.
- Richard (10/5): I would stay there anytime I am in Florence. - The property was perfectly located near the train station and within 20 minutes walking to everything I needed. It was neat, clean and plenty of room for the two of us. Leonardo was great to meet and easy to communicate with. I was satisfied.
- Drew (10/5): Great walking distance to everything! Leonardo was friendly and welcoming. - Great walking distance to everything! Leonardo was friendly and welcoming. The balcony faces away from the street giving peace and quiet. Oh and there's air conditioning! Nothing.
- Ian (10/5): We had a wonderful time in Florence. - The balcony was delightful. We appreciated Leonardo helping to carry our luggage up the stairs. It was an easy walk to the historical centre and the train station.
- Takeo (10/5): Beautiful place, wonderful balcony. - Serene balcony and the feeling of staying within the local neighborhood. Leonardo the host was also very kind. N/a.
- David (9/5): Well-equipped apartment, good value, very close to the centre of Florence - This apartment is great for a place to stay from which to explore central Florence. It has everything you need, is only minutes' walk from the Douro, and Leonardo was a very helpful host. It was good value for what it provides and I would happily recommend it
- Susan (8/5): Leonardo was a very responsive host. The air conditioner went out several times the first night we were there and she we - The property had a nice design, a comfortable bed, a washing machine, and balcony with a dining table. We did not like the three sets of doors that we had to unlock in order to get into the unit. The outside door and the door to the actual unit made sense and were easy to use, but there was an extra door in between those two that we had great difficulty opening.
- Diana (9/5): Good location, nice terrace, very friendly host - Very convenient location, close to transportation hubs and all the major sites Extremely small bathroom
- Krumwiede (10/5): Loved it! - The balcony was quaint and at the end of the day we enjoyed a glass of wine out there. The days were spent wandering around Florence. The location was excellent and walking distance to everything. My only comment would be, if you are a large person, the bathroom is narrow.
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ilana (10/5): A really lovely place to use as a base for exploring Florence. - Leonardo waited for us, even though our flight was delayed. He met us at the door and helped us bring our bags up, which was very much appreciated. He showed us the ins and outs of the apartment, which had just about everything we needed for our stay. He also let us know how to keep in touch with him if we had any issues/questions. Again, much appreciated. Oh, and there was coffee, sugar and a stovetop coffee maker... that was a huge bonus. Oh, and that balcony? Heaven. The bathroom is pretty small. If I were any taller or wider, it would be a challenge. That said, the shower worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the charm of the apartment made up for this minor discomfort.
- Trond (9/5): We were satisfied and got value for money - It was clean and well equipped, and the balcony with heater made it comfortable to sit outside even in rather chill April weather. The view out on the backyard was better than the pictures show and made the stay memorable. The surroundings were a little bit shabby, although it for us it was practical, as it was very close to the railway station and the historic center.
- Akash (9/5): Leo is a very kind host, the property is centrally located (Very very close to SMN) and it's worth it - Leo was a very kind host, who was very accommodating and helpful. The check in went smooth, all essentials were present in the kitchen and the apartment was very clean with fresh towels and fresh water to drink.
The bedroom is comfortable in size but the highlight of the apartment is the balcony, which was a serene place to sit at, with no exceptional view though. The wifi connection needs to be definitely fixed because I was working from there and I couldn't even take a call using the wifi, had to turn on my mobile data for it. There is no living room so if you are two people looking to work together for a few days, you might not have enough space for each other.
- James (10/5): Comfy, spacious, great location - Comfy and spacious. Easy walk from the train station and the center of Florence. Leonardo was very responsive and accommodating.
- Ifera (9/5): Right in the Middle you will be - This flat is a little marvel, very cozy and very close to main to-visit places (10 minutes walk) and train station (less than 10 minutes walk).
Everything was super clean.
The balcony is wonderful and I can imagine that in the summer is very romantic.
The owner of the flat is very very kind and friendly. Thank you so much again.
About the location: you will find a lot of restaurants, bars, super and mini markets basically everywhere around the flat. There is nothing I did not like.
Just a little note for those who have physical issues --> You will need to walk some steep stairs
- Georgia (10/5): Enjoyed Florence but the open space of the terrace was perfect - Great communication. Super location. Terrace amazing Bathroom tiny but all there and ok
- Gary (10/5): Lovely location right in the heart of Florence. Host was excellent. -
