Guest Reviews
- Catalina (9/5): Everything was perfect - We really liked the apartment, it was big, with nice 2 full bathrooms in each room. Very nice that they had coffee, sugar, tea, etc included. Amazing air conditioning, specially with the 38 celsius degrees outside. Apart from being in a very central location, by night you couldn't hear any noises, which was nice. We had a little water leak in the air conditioning from one of the rooms. The apartment was very centric and well located, you could reach everything by foot, but the neighborhood had a lot of immigrants, so it wasn’t very clean and there were some not-so-pleasant smells around. But as soon as you walked into the apartment, you forgot all about that.
- Sajjad (6/5): Pleasant - Location was very close to Central Market and many other visiting sites 3rd floor with very narrow and bad stairs! (+25 stairs with high riser height!!!… generally unsafe, and hard to carry luggage)
Shower was dirty!!! Saw hair from previous guest!
Water pressure was poor, especially when both showers in use!
Fridge had left overs from previous guest! (Rotten watermelon).
Apartment had some pathways into the unit (in shower with red ceramics) could be considered insecure!
- Janie (8/5): Bucket list Italy trip - We liked how centrally located it was. We really enjoyed how we could cross the street to Mercato Centrale and the many choices of restaurants. It didn’t have a proper sitting room.
- Laurie (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (10/5): The perfect 2 bedroom for a single traveler working remotely with occasional visitors. - An amazing place that worked perfectly for what I needed to work remotely. Wireless was reliable, 10 min walk from anything, right next door to the Central Market. I loved it!
- Angela (9/5): Excellent unit but need to follow instructions and check out - I loved this apartment. Beautiful bedrooms and kitchen. Our guests were extremely comfortable. We even had a tiny window that looked out towards a lemon tree! The market across the street is one of the highlights of our visit. The stairs are a little challenging but you get used to them. Unfortunately, our host arrived 15 min before our checkout (9:45) to ask if we’d be done it ten minutes. He waited on the doorstep until we were leaving the unit. He was very sweet but I found this to be a bit intrusive. I had also inquired about a late checkout the night before and he never responded.
- Jairo (7/5): The apartment itself was fantastic—spacious, clean, and well-maintained. However, the entrance was a real drawback. Ther -
- Vanessa (7/5): Apartment lovely, clean and tidy with everything you need. Check comments re stairs etc. - The accommodation itself was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Some comfy chairs in the kitchen area would be great but perhaps difficult to get in due to stairs 🤷♀️. Absolutely great location within walking distance of most places you’d want to see. Lorenzo - accommodation owner was great and responsive. The access to the building was ok but seemed to be controlled by a different person - we had issues with the door to the apartment and called the number on booking.com but this was just for the outside door apparently. The initial appearance and the stairs were a bit off putting, pretty run down - again ? Building owner rather than apartment owner? Showers were a little low pressure. Be aware it is on third floor with no lift - luckily we were travelling light.
- Donna (9/5): Overall, our stay was enjoyable, with the apartment offering a comfortable and safe base despite a few minor drawbacks. - Pros:
• Clean and Spacious: The apartment was immaculate and offered plenty of space, making it a comfortable retreat during our stay.
• Separate Rooms and Two Bathrooms: We loved having separate rooms and two bathrooms, which added to our convenience and privacy.
• Well-Stocked Supplies: The apartment came with plenty of supplies, including towels and washcloths, ensuring we had everything we needed.
• Great Location: The location was a definite plus, with easy access to the Mercato, where we enjoyed meals throughout our stay.
• Safety: Despite the view of dumpsters and the presence of homeless individuals nearby, we felt safe in the area, which is important for any traveler.
• No Cooking Smells: We did not experience any cooking smells in the apartment, even though some reviews mentioned this issue. Keeping the windows closed helped maintain a fresh atmosphere. Cons:
• View of Dumpsters: The view from the apartment included dumpsters from the Mercato, which was not visually appealing.
• Homeless Individuals Nearby: While we felt safe, the presence of homeless individuals sleeping nearby at night might be concerning for some guests.
• Challenging Entry: We dubbed the stairs leading to the apartment as the “stone stairs of death” due to their steepness and the multi-step entry process. These stairs can be difficult to navigate with heavy luggage, and may pose challenges for anyone with mobility issues or young children.
• Phone Charge Needed: Make sure to have enough charge on your phone, as it is necessary to enter the building.
- Leah (8/5): Very good - It was definitely a great location. We appreciated the air conditioning and felt that it was a well equipped kitchen. The owner/manager was very responsive to my questions via Whatsapp. The stairs are very steep and narrow so if you are not prepared it might be tricky getting luggage up them. It is noisy outside and there is a smell but I think that is to be expected given that it's directly across from the Mercato.
- Matin (8/5): Perfect for young and active travelers - The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. He let us check in a little bit earlier which was nice. The apartment itself was very clean, comfy and well stocked, if a bit too small, but I guess that is expected of all the apartments in a historic city like Florence. The location was also great and it was close to almost all the main tourist attractions. The apartment was on the 3rd floor of the building with no elevators, and the staircase was very narrow. This information should be provided in the listing in case someone has trouble with climbing stairs.
It was difficult to sleep in the larger bedroom, due to the noises coming from the street and adjacent market and restaurants.
Just a suggestion - it would be really nice to provide some sort of a brief manual for using the appliances like washing machine or dishwasher, as I assume most of the guests do not speak Italian. We had to search online for the washing machine manual, and even then, managed to destroy some of our clothes with the dryer function ;)
- Derya (6/5): Pleasant - The rooms were comfortable, the apartment was generally cute and pleasant. The location is great but it is noisy all night outside, struggled to have a good night sleep during my stay. Also, the room smelled of takeaway all day and night. The stairs to the apartment are narrow and steep, not suitable for elderly people or baby trolleys.
- Rafal (9/5): Superb - Perfect contact with a Man I spoke with 2 times by a phone - very nice, kind and extremely helpful! Thank you! The apartament was very clean, nice, equiped with everything you may need. Two separate rooms with bathroom each one. Great localisation in the middle of everything. If you have problems with your knees, don't choose it:) The flat is on the attic and the staircase is very narrow:) The real problem was the smell of meat and oil on our room - we couldn't open the window at all- but we visited places from early morning till late night:)
- Jane (9/5): We liked it well enough to extend by one day, the host was able to accommodate us. - The location was great, directly across the street from the Mercato, and a reasonable walking distance from the train station. The kitchen was well equipped and even included a washer/dryer unit. It was great having two bedrooms and two bathrooms, lots of room to spread out. There was a funky smell in the back bedroom. Not sure what it was but it bothered me the entire stay. My husband didn’t notice it.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - It was awesome!! Perfect apartment and location! We wish we had stayed another night!! It was on the straight up small steps to the 3rd floor
- Dania (6/5): Pleasant - Location Smell and mold in the bathroom. The water was low pressure. My son who is 7 years old kept asking to go to another hotel. We stayed one night because we were traveling and lost the second night.
- Anonymous (8/5): Great compact apartment in great location - Great apartment in heart of Florence. Two bathrooms was a bonus as was air conditioning as we had some warmer days. We also missed having a couch but understand space limitations of the apartment don’t allow for this. Stairs are
narrow and steep but fine if you are able bodied.
- Sue (10/5): We were only there a day and half. Enjoyed what we saw - Lose to restaurants and shops The stairs to the apartment
- Marissa (9/5): Superb - Location was excellent and check in was quick and easy. We arrived early and Lorenzo allowed us to check in earlier. Apartment had all the amenities needed and it was located right next to the central market. The stairs leading up to the apartment were tight and narrow so if you have heavy and large luggage beware!! Apartment is on the 3rd floor.
- Jean (9/5): Superb -
- Payal (9/5): Really lovely apartment, very well located. Would recommend. - Lovely apartment right in the centre of Florence. 2 min walk to The Duomo and about 7 mins walk to The Accademia Gallery. Very comfortable and fully equipped. Lorenzo is very helpful and quick to answer any questions. We had a lovely stay. Thank you. Apartment is on the top floor so had to carry cases up 2 flights of narrow stairs but it wasn’t bad as we were travelling light.
- Katrina (9/5): Great apartment ! - Very Clean and comfortable apartment
Air conditioning was great!!! Location was great! Had everything we needed. Very nice apartment.
Host was very approachable and easy to talk with about any issues. I think people need to know the stairs up to the apartment are very steep and can be difficult with luggage ect.
The outside door leading to stairs was broken and was told in process to be fixed but made it a little concerning safety wise that people would sit in door way and leave alcohol bottles.
- Susan (5/5): Clean and comfortable but doesn't feel safe and the stairs are very difficult to use. - Flat was as described and had all the basics. The beds were the most comfortable holiday beds we have ever had. Clean throughout and air conditioning was great. Wifi access was great. Central location and walking distance to train station. It took us a couple of days to figure out the shutters to make the bedrooms dark but once we worked it out they were great. Not suitable for anyone with any mobility issues due to the very narrow, very steep three flights of stairs to get to apartment and that was not clear in description.
Didn't feel very safe due to the groups of men that gather outside the front door of the building, not the front door to the apartment, generally linked to the kebab shop next door. There was cans and rubbish outside the door every day. While we were there on one occasion as soon as we got in the door and closed it we heard someone kicking it with force from the street side. The next day we arrived back and this time door was damaged so we had to report it. Real shame as flat is lovely.
- Andrew (9/5): Great location for central Florence - great location blue bedroom dirty mark in shower room Bin wagon wagon emptied bins outside the property every morning at 6.00 am very noisy
- Christopher (8/5): Perfect place to anchor your trip to Italy/Tuscany. Host is fantastic! - Apartment is as advertised and the owner/host Lorenzo was wonderfully accomodating. Proximity to the train station, the Central Market and also the major attractions in Florence make this a perfect stay. Lorenzo assisted us daily with airline lost luggage issues and provided immediate answers on any quetsions we had for the property. Super safe and perfect for 4 adult guests. Facilities were spotless and a great value to be so close to eveyrthing. Top-quality restaurants and conveniences literally at your doorstep. Only issues we had were 100% out of properties control. The closeness to the market is fantastic, but this block is highly active and noisy 18-20 hours every day. Vendors, city services and tourists are all understandably the issue. As a result, the entry way is public property and is some sort of a daily hangout for the locals. I would stay here again regardless but better suited for the young, loud and active, vs. older travellers looking for a quiet night.
- Chia-yi (7/5): we loved it. it’s not a hotel but it’s a short stay home. - super central location and perfect for foodies like me. super easy to get around.
super clean and well-equipped place with almost everything. super market is downstairs so no need to worry. it’s an old house so the stairs are rather steep but it won’t kill your. make sure you double check with the host if there is any water stop because of maintenance etc during your stay. we woke up with no water whatsoever one day.
the checkout time is rather early.
- Raimis (8/5): Very good - Very close to the main attractions of Florence. The garage for parking is a few minutes' walk from the apartments. The price of parking is 35€ per day. Noisy street.
- Wing (7/5): Good - The location is excellent. The apartment has everything we needed for our stay. The place is very comfortable and clean. It could be a bit noisy at night. It is only accessible by stairs, might be a problem with heavy bags.
- Laura (10/5): Nice apartment with a great location - Nice apartment in the center of Florencia, really close to Piazza del Duomo. Checkin and out were very easy thanks to technology using a link and the code for the door. It was very clean, with a great kitchen and two big bedrooms with ensuite bathroom. Totally recommended! Our host was also very handy and answered super fast Everything was nice but the apartment is placed in the top (second floor) of the building without lift, stairs were a little bit tricky. On the second bedroom the smell of food (Kebab restaurants in the street) was sometimes too much!
- Nancy (8/5): Would recommend to anyone who wants to be in the midst of Florence, and can climb stairs. - Two double bedrooms separated by a large kitchen living area, well equipped, each bedroom with private bath. I liked the temptation and the softer mattress, my friend did like those as much, personal likes. Owner or agent was there to meet us and give us keys [there could have been phone code, but we don't know how to do that] and he carried my heavy bag up. I found it a very comfortable and central location for cultural sights and shopping was excellent. Very old building therefore had very narrow steep stone flights [4 flights] of steps, but with iron handrails it was perfectly possible if you were careful [I am slightly disabled, bad knee and chronic fatigue and I could do it]. Keys often difficult to work into locks, but agains always managed. Can't fault anything else, all was good. W
- Andrea (10/5): Centric apartment - Lorenzo who manages the apartment was absolutely amazing and reactive if we needed something ❤️ Everything esa perfect
- Aine (9/5): Great location - Apartment was clean, roomy and air conditioning was great and very much needed in July. The market across the road was really nice for coffee and brekkie in the morning. Close to really nice restaurants and market. The stairs were extremely steep. People with any sort of walking disability would find them very challenging
