• Federica (5/5): - Located very close to the city center. Interesting concept. The blankets smelled like they hadn't been changed for a while. We haven't been informed about the functioning of the key and we had to pay 30€ to unlock the door (reading the reviews I found out it happened before).

The location was perfect, immaculately clean inside. You have to be a little careful as there are a couple of steps inside but it was a really great place to stay and would go back there if I visit Florence again

• Francesco (8/5): Posizione Ottima - Alloggio per Coppie - La posizione dell'alloggio è ottimale per chi vuole visitare la città. La struttura ha rispettato le nostre aspettative, i gestori sono stati ospitali. L'appartamento è particolare, forse non può piacere a tutti; tuttavia, noi ci siamo trovati benissimo. Peccato che l'ambiente sia poco illuminato. L'ambiente è un po' angusto ma ci si fa l'abitudine, alla fine è anche piacevole. Noi l'abbiamo vissuta con positività, come una nuova esperienza da vivere.
• Kleopátra (7/5): - Molto vicino al centro , come posto veramente particolare, unico esperienza. I proprietari sono stati molto gentili, simpatici e sempre disponibili. Il locale non ha la finestra e purtroppo comunque c’è un odore che rimane sui vestiti che ti accorgi solo dopo fuori luogo . Non consiglio chi soffre di claustrofobia o molto sensibile o soffre di non respirare bene . Il locale secondo me è perfetto per fare le foto , video o fare le piccole feste private .

• Connor (10/5): - Such a cool spot! We both loved our stay here. Great decor, great facilities and unlike any place I have ever stayed. The hosts were also lovely and excellent with communication. We found no faults during our stay. As long as you are OK with having no windows or direct sunlight in your accomodation for a few nights then you will also enjoy your stay here. The complimentary bottle of wine was also very welcome! Grazie

• Vincenzo (8/5): Alloggio molto accogliente e suggestivo, solo da migliorare un po’ l’areazione. - L’alloggio è molto particolare e curato nei dettagli, ricavato da una cantina ma reso accogliente e anche romantico. L’atmosfera è unica, ideale per una fuga di coppia. Ottima anche la posizione, davvero centrale e comoda per visitare la città a piedi. Prezzo onesto in rapporto a ciò che offre. Accoglienza gentile e disponibile. L’unico vero aspetto da migliorare è l’areazione: spesso si sentiva odore di chiuso, nonostante tutte le ventole e gli apparecchi fossero in funzione.

Podría ser mejor la iluminación del lugar, pues es muy oscuro, nada de ventilación ni iluminación natural. De noche hace falta un poco el oxigeno......uffff.

• juan (1/5): never again - only location the place . bathroom had problem , the water was liquin from the shower all the time , we had to put many towels in the floor The owner tried to charge us for the cost of the deadbolt he installed on the door, which is a double-lock lock with a key, something never seen before. The door was locked and he himself couldn't access the property. He tried to blame us for not being able to access the property. This is his responsibility because of the type of deadbolt he installed. Unheard of. The place always smells damp because it's a basement, and at the same time, it gives an unsafe appearance. If something happens, you're trapped in a basement. No one can help you. Even if it seems very fashionable, if they lock the door or something happens, there's no option! You're lost! I had a night where I didn't even sleep thinking about the safety of my family.

• Patricia (10/5): Un lugar único y sorprendente, en el corazón de Florencia - La Cave Rouge es un espacio único en el corazón de Florencia. Fue una antigua bodega medieval y la han reformado y decorado conservando su esencia, con los techos abovedados, creando un ambiente muy especial con todas las comodidades necesarias. Incluso tiene pequeñas sorpresas como una ventana del vino original y saber que fue el taller de un importante escultor del Renacimiento, donde creó una de las esculturas más conocidas en Florencia. Esta historia nos pareció fascinante! Además, está al lado del Duomo, en una calle muy tranquila y segura. Lo bueno de ser una bodega, es que aunque fuimos en plena ola de calor, dentro había una temperatura fresca y perfecta. Por último, mencionar que Lili y Baptiste son de los anfitriones más amables y atentos que hemos encontrado nunca: nos facilitaron muchísimo el check in y dejaron una botella de vino como regalo de bienvenida. Se volcaron para que estuviéramos cómodos y han estado disponibles en todo momento. Hubo un pequeño problema con el router y se ofrecieron a venir, trajeron unos dulces para compensar las molestias e hicieron todo lo posible para solucionarlo, incluso trajeron una tarjeta SIM para que pudiera utilizarla hasta que se solucionara el problema. La primera impresión fue de ser un poco incómodo, por tener que bajar unas escaleras para acceder y no tener ventanas al exterior. Pero la verdad nos adaptamos muy pronto y al final terminó siendo una ventaja por el silencio, la tranquilidad y el ambiente fresco con las temperaturas tan altas que tuvimos esos días. También que el apartamento tiene muchas cosas de decoración y resulta un poco recargado. Quizás podrían quitar algunas cosas para que parezca más ordenado y funcional

• Dee (7/5): Great location for a Florence break - The location was great with easy access to the Florence Duomo cathedral just 10 minutes walk away. Easy walk from the Florence train station and and also getting around Florence from this base. Plenty of eateries and attractions and we loved every bit of Florence. The apartment offered a great opportunity for us to prepare meals and avoid spending too much money seeing how pricey the city could be. The bottle of wine was a friendly touch, being suitable for vegans and we enjoyed it very much. Items like tea, coffee and essentials like salt, sugar and olive oil was provided to prepare drinks and meals. The accommodation is in a cellar so it is a strange feeling not having natural light and a big surprise when you emerge outside and find it all bright and sunny. My friend has some respiratory challenges and struggles at times with dampness and slight mouldy conditions. We were advised to use the extractor systems that were in place though.

The apartment has everything you need and the instructions on how to use it are very clear. Location is great and in the summer the coolness of a cellar could be a blessing. There is too much stuff in the apartment and you constantly need to take care not to touch and break something. And you need to take care where to put your own stuff, so you can still find it between all the other stuff

I would call it a unique experience in a way. Hosts were very welcoming, responsive and helping, kudos! Just by the nature of the place it is a bit dark even with all the types of lights inside. Perfect otherwise.

Fantastic experience- how many people have a chance to stay in the Wine cellar of Benenuto Cellini famous sculpture " Perseus with head of Medusa". We discovered it in the square of Piazza della Signoria. The Wine cave super cool, roomy, and a really nice kitchen for reheating your left over pizza-- Great host & extremely accommodating, oh and they speak English as well! Set up WhatsApp for direct communication. Fantastic Experience!!! M&S We hated having to leave Florence at the end of our trip--

• Luiza (9/5): Superb - Cool air of the cellar allowed for a nice escape from the sun inbetween planned activities. Good location for all attractions and great restaurants around. Hosts were very accomodating and attentive throughout our whole stay even going the extra mile to help us find transport to and from a remote event at short notice.

As it is a cellar, there are no windows, adding to its distinct character. The space is well-stocked with a variety of wines and features a nice kitchen equipped with many supplies. Our stay was truly an adventure for the entire family. The host welcomed us warmly with a bottle of wine, thoroughly explained everything, and provided many helpful suggestions. The hot water in the shower lasts perfectly for two people. However, the bed could be a bit more comfortable.

They are very reacheable per Whatsapp. The place is built to prioritize design over functionality. That is great for travellers looking for a different and unique experience (wine and antique lovers especially), but not for the average guest. Furthermore, the place has mosquitos that can hide in every single corner within deco pieces (the place has just too much stuff) and you won’t be able to get rid of them. We got quite a few mosquito bites.

A lot of interesting details - like ancient but still working telephone. A bottle of wine was waiting for us - and we could choose - white or red one. Appartment is 10 minutes walk to the Dome. We haven't seen the hosts, but they wrote us detailed instructions using WhatsApp and were awailable for any questions or help It was a bit scaring with no windows, specially during the night

• Martin (8/5): Unique place to stay - The unique experience of staying in a cave. The hosts were amazing. Answering questions right away. Sending tons of info about the apartment. Location was fabulous. Short distance to the centre of Florence The musty smell and lack of doors. There is no bedroom door and the bathroom is in the bedroom

We had an issue with the power, at night, it blew the fuse. We rang a few times before they answered which added ti my stress, then we had to resolve the situation ourselves which was very stressful.

Baptiste and Lily were very informative on our day of travel, the apartment was spotless, and they answered any doubts quickly. They also provided excellent recommendations for food, sightseeing, and other services. Anyone with some concerns about falling should be aware that there are steps all over the apartment. This shouldn't dissuade you from staying otherwise.

• Giselle (8/5): Great accommodation - Really liked the location which was just a short walk from the Duomo and all the main sites when visiting Florence. The accommodation is certainly unique with its decor and was lovely and cool at all times! The hosts were honestly some of the best hosts I’ve ever communicated with. They took so much initiative in messaging me early with check in instructions and offering to support us when checking out with taxis or holding on to our luggage. Everything you need is provided at the cave; tea, coffee, welcome bottle of wine, really soft sheets and towels, cutlery and crockery, insanely fast wifi! We really don’t have much to complain about! While the accommodation was really unique, I would say it would be nice if more track lights/ceiling lights could be installed on the ceiling to allow appropriate lighting for reading or if you want to hang out in the cave with more than mood lighting. It might also be nice if a tv was provided in the living room so you can enjoy a movie or Netflix. Again these are super small complaints because overall it was definitely a very memorable place to stay!

• Taz (10/5): Exceptional - Nice location. Almost halfway between the center and the ZTL. Very atmospheric, clean and quiet. Although the temperature never got very high since it is a cellar, an air conditioning unit would make the atmosphere more pleasant. One member of the family did not cope too well with the underground space and lack of windows but that is no fault of the owners as the description was very clear.

Sorry but its a windowless cellar with very restricted airflow that has a dampness throughout. I would not recommend it for more than a night and not for more than 2 people (no bedroom door and there’s air vents so zero privacy). The hosts seemed lovely and left lots of instructions however sleeping in a damp cellar under a noisey ventilator.wasn’t for us.

• Bwml (8/5): Different experience - Baptiste was very informative and made check in easy with self explanatory video. He also left us a welcome wine which was well appreciated. Unique place and he offers wines you can purchase from his own collection. It was very noticeable that they took time to be thoughtful and mindful of their customers needs. The only thing that was challenging was the neighbor slamming the doors everytime they left or came back. Not much you can do about neighbors but it was a challenge to fall back asleep. The walls are thin and you can hear every conversation.

• Botez (6/5): Alright for only one night stay. - No contact check-in, Good central location, informative host, a rather unusual/unique accomodation. Price for value, expensive, but i guess it’s difficult to find affordable accomodation in florence It was rather cold and we had to look for heating devices and sleep with them open. Moldy smelling air. No windows to outside - it feels like enternal night. Bath is in the main room. The people sleeping on the couch have to go in the bedroom - therefore no privacy. The overall design is a bit much - consider having the living room less crowded with stuff, minimalist.

• Peter (9/5): Thanks for making La Cave Rouge available to the public. - An unexpected delight to our stay was the ancient brick barrel vaulted ceiling. I enjoy music, especially with wine! There was a fine table top Bluetooth speaker there that I was able to connect to effortlessly. It sounded better than a concert hall. It was amazing. I thought I saw the wine vibrating in the bottles! I was worried a few might vibrate off the racks!...BTW the bathroom was very nice, spacious, and remarkably clean. I brought to many electronics. Was hard to charge all the modern devices at the same time. I had to keep my music device charged at all times! An ancient space should not be expected to have all modern amenities! This cave had it all though. You make due with what you have. I am fine with that.

And the atmosphere is hnforgettable. The hosts are super friendly, supporting with loads of information and intersting about your stay. I can recommend to everyone, who is looking for something out of the box and common apertments/hotels. parking is very costly and not easy
