- Monika (9/5): Niedaleko obiektu super knajpka na śniadania Jomo! - Super położenie, w miarę blisko do Plaza Catalunya, Plaza Espanya, Barcelloneta. Fajnie urządzone mieszkanko! Przy samym obiekcie mała przyjazna knajpka, nie na śniadanie bo później otwierana. Blisko sklep. W obiekcie wszystko co niezbędne jest dostępne.

- Karen (8/5): Very good - The location was great!
- Kate (8/5): Beautiful apartment in a good location - The apartment is beautifully presented, decorated in a classy, chic way, retaining lots of historic features. It has lots of lighting meaning you can adjust it to suit your mood. There are plenty of towels, and extra blankets if needed. The TV with Netflix was a nice surprise.
We loved the spacious bathroom. It has a good shower and a beautiful old sink. We appreciated the lovely shampoo, soap and shower gel provided too.
The apartment is in a great position. There are several small supermarkets within a few minutes walk, and it's close to Carrer de Blai, a lovely street with lots of tapas/pintxos bars. Xavier has also left his own restaurant and bar recommendations in the apartment if you fancy trying them out. It's only about 7 minutes walk to the nearest Metro station (Parallel or Poble Sec) but to be honest, we walked most places - it's about 20 minutes to La Rambla, similar to the waterfront, and a short distance from Montjuic, worth climbing for the city views!
We self-catered all week (apart from going out for drinks and pintxos a few times) and found the kitchen fine for our needs. There's a large fridge and freezer, and adequate pots and pans, etc. The oven is a bit old and 'tired' but functional, and the induction hob works well. There's no washing up bowl (though this may be a Spanish thing!) and no draining board, so more tea towels would have been useful.
Xavier was a very helpful host. When we arrived to find the apartment had no corkscrew or coffee pot he immediately said we could buy them and he'd reimburse us. We bought a corkscrew, and he popped round with a coffee pot the following day. Not a complaint as such, but to be aware - the apartment is cleverly photographed to make it look larger than it is. It's basically 1 room with a separate bathroom (the kitchen is partially partitioned). There's no separate bedroom - to watch TV you sit on the bed. Realistically it comfortably accommodates 2 - it only works for 4 if you have children who go to bed at the same time as you (thankfully ours do!) as there's no separate space to put younger children to bed. The second bed is a pull-out sofa that only just fits in its space. When it's pulled out it blocks the route to the bathroom so you have to climb over it. It worked ok for us, but wouldn't be good for families with younger kids, or for 4 adults.
The 'sun terrace' mentioned in the description is not somewhere you can sit, it's an enclosed balcony with sliding windows that open out onto a washing line and the view of a wall opposite. It's fine to provide ventilation and light, but don't assume you'll be sitting there in the sunshine sipping Vermut.
My final point is not about the apartment specifically, but about Barcelona. We last visited 7 years ago and I was really shocked by how crowded and expensive it is now. The tourist tax adds a ridiculous amount to what is already expensive accommodation. Gaudi sights such as Sagrada Familia need to be booked days in advance and for our family would have been over £100 (and that's with our youngest child getting in free!). We didn't bother!
- Ramunas (10/5): Extraordinary loft for stay in Barca - Owner is very kind and left keys in box prepared for our late arrival.
Loft is build in vintage style, we liked it. Main double bed is good, sofa is double, but not very confortable for long stay. Kitchen is small but clean, bathroom has big shower.
Owner offer its personal guide to visit Barca.
If you'll arrive late I recommend La Pala Pizza bar. -
- Kristýna (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bojan (8/5): It was nice 😊 - The apartment is very nice and designed very well.
The location is good, metro is near an a lot of good bars too. Sofa for kids was uncomfortable and it was very loud most of the time from upstair neighbours.
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy little place, with a nice little plaza outside and a few neighborhood cafes. Try the vegan meat empanadas at the Argentinian place in the corner: delicious! The one-person elevator and stairways up to the second floor are incredibly narrow. I'm not sure how residents handle this, it was difficult to even get our dog's crates upstairs. If you have large bags, or anything bigger, this limitation might be prohibitive.
- Davide (8/5): Nice stay in Montjuic - Nice central location Unfortunately the elevator of the building was broken during our stay
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bud (8/5): a lovely 4 day visit in a very pleasant apartment - The location and the Parca (square) outside, easy access to the metro system, decent food nearby.
The apartment was excellent and nicely furnished. At night it was quiet, yet the square was buzzing with life during the evening, so a great combination.
Best of all was Xavier, our bags went misisng from the airline, mine for 2 days and my partners for the whole trip! due to being an apartment, we didn't want to wait in for the supposed delivery of the bags from the courier (which never happened anyway), and Xavier came up with a solution so we could still get out and about during our vaction trip.
Xavier was most helpful, there were countless messages between us, him and the couriers, and he was a life saver.
The Wifi was very good. The Ac is good as well. The shower room is lovely.
I rented a car and had access to a private underground car nearby (for a small fee and much cheaper than the local car parks) from Xavier which was very useful as there is zero chance of parking anywhere in Barca on most days.
Xavier, thank for going beyond your duties as a host. I struggled to link up to the TV which had a weird remote, with a touch sensitive pad but eventually I managed (maybe my age!)
The overhead fan bearings are worn out and it needs swapping out.
- Kurtis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harada (6/5): Pleasant - Owner is very kind and helpful thank you. The reception staff only speak Spanish. Difficult to have enough explanation.
Noisy at night and surrounding are not nice to walk.
- Stefron77 (9/5): Funky Studio in Cool Part of Town - The apartment is very pretty
Location is fab for bars and restaurants
The antique bathroom sink is beautiful
The building is old with lots of original features Fridge very loud which was annoying at night
Kitchen quite dated (microwave)
- Zdenek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arce (9/5): Superb -
- Igor (8/5): Good apts, but the air conditioner sounded like a rainstorm outside the window. It was nice) -
