• Scott (9/5): - The host was very helpful assisting us with directions and arranging an early morning ride to the airport. Our apartment was clean and functional with a wonderful garden for us to use. Not that it was a big issue, but we were unable to log onto the television to access any of the streaming services.

• Joakim (7/5): - Its a pretty small apartment and there could be more attention to detail (cutlery, glasses etc.) but the place is clean and comfortable if you only use it more or less to spend the night. The patio is nice as well. Considering the price point in Dubrovnik this is a good place to stay if you do ot want to spend a fortune and we especially enjoyed the proximity to the ocean front to swim, relax and eat out our last days on vacation. The apartment was not ready at the agreed check in time (we had to wait a couple of hours) but we were not informed until the hosts son let us know upon arrival. He was clear though he was not involved in the arrangement but the host would not come out and talk to us even though she was at home. Besides that she was very communicative and helpful when texting us and she did apologize through the booking app and seemed genuinely sorry about the late check in, so this may just have been unfortunate circumstances.

• LauraRM (10/5): - The apartment is in a fab spot, 2 min walk to the bakery, supermarket, beach and bus stop(line 4) to the city runs every 15 mins. Also placed at the bottom of the hill, so no climbing huge sets of stairs. Apt had everything we needed, hosts warm and friendly. I loved sitting outside on a morning with a coffee and my book on the seating on the patio area. Would definitely recommend. Definitely need bug repellant for sitting outside. The garden is lovely and shaded from fruit trees.

• Magdalena (8/5): Nice stay in Lapad. - Location was perfect for getting to dubrovnik centre, bus stop right in front of the apartment, beach, shops and restaurants only a short walk. Apartment was clean, had everything you need and a nice outdoor area to sit. Everything was OK

• Vinod (8/5): It was a beautiful stay, and we would love to be back for more. - Its a very quaint property, and location is perfect. There is a bakery, small supermarket and bus stop just down the road, and parking is a just a few minutes down the road. The host and her son both were very warm and helpful. Its a very green property and we loved that. There are plenty of eateries by the beach and it was a very safe area. A very short walk to the beach as well. A sign would be a good thing to add on.

• Debra (10/5): Exceptional - Unit was spacious, great bed, fridge, hot water pot and clean. coffee shop, restaurant and grocery store very close so we had breakfast in our unit which saved us time and money! Also hiking trail directly above the neighborhood was fantastic Uber had a hard time finding the place and dropped us off on the corner so we had to wander around a bit before we found it.
• Richard (5/5): Good location and garden - poor quality accommodation. - The garden and location were good, I also really loved the owners pets - 3 cats and a poorly dog.. The flat was very small. All the furniture was poorly constructed cheap ikea stuff. There was too much furniture for the small flat. The bed was really uncomfortable as we're the pillows. The mattress was the cheapest ikea one they do. There was no blind on the bedroom window so the room was really light early on. There was no air-conditioning in the kitchen / pull down sofa bed so it was really hot overnight. There were no tea & coffee facilities. There was no bread knife so making breakfast was really difficult. We decided to use the oven and kettle at the same time and fused the flat....I could go on! I have read the response and updated the overall score from 3 to 5 as it didn't reflect the location and garden which we found pleasing. Myself and my wife were really uncomfortable and had a terrible 2 nights sleep - this was our key issue and why would I complain about this - nothing could have been done, you can't just magic a bigger bed or more comfortable mattress overnight!!. The accommodation is just not comfortable but if you are only staying a short period in the flat I'm sure it will suit your purpose. The flat is expensive in summer but then it is in line with Dubrovnik more broadly. Maybe a little investment in the flat might head off further negative reviews. One final point - I have reviewed the information on the site and it is quite basic. However, I can't see any reference to the accommodation being very small (though we knew it was compact from photos....we just didn't realise how cramped it was was for 3 people until we got there) and the bed is described as a 'large double', it isn't its a standard double for the avoidance of doubt.

• Melissa (8/5): Very good - This is a great rental for being close to the beach, restaurants, store, and anything you need. It's right on the #4 bus that gets you to Old Town and back. Lovely patio area to relax on and have your cup of coffee. Bakery is across the street. Our host was very nice and welcoming.

• Katie (9/5): Wonderful holiday in Croatia - stunning scenery - wished we could have stayed longer! - Lovely apartment in great location. Lilijana (owner) was very nice and even gave us some homegrown tomatoes which were delicious! It's a compact little apartment, really well equipped, clean and a surprising amount of storage space. The bathroom had a great shower - a 'rainfall' head, an ordinary shower head that you could detach or keep in it's holder and a waist high adjustable jet/tap. Kitchen was very well equipped: oven, stovetop, sink, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and there was a washing machine in the bathroom too. A few essentials like salt, pepper, cling film, washing powder were already there for us which was really helpful and we've left some items like kitchen roll, coffe etc which, hopefully, the next people can make use of. Lilijana's pets are cute - Benny the dog who is very friendly, and 2 cats (we didn't learn their names) - the black and white fluffy one is very confident and friendly, the grey and white one is a bit timid. The garden area outside the apartment is fantastic - kiwis growing overhead, limes, hydrangeas with enormous flower heads, nasturtiums and many other plants, flowers, trees. I loved sitting out there in the mornings, having a coffe and a leisurely breakfast whilst reading my book. Temperatures were already getting into the mid-20s in the early morning so it was brilliant to sit out under the shade of the trees. Don't forget the insect repellent to be on the safe side, when under the trees! There's a bakery 1 minute walk from the apartment that is open from 8am to 10pm and does sandwiches, pizza slices, Croatian sausage rolls and all sorts of delicious cakes and breads. 1 minute (if that) around the corner from the bakery, is a Studenac shop - like a Spar/Nisa/mini-supermarket. Opposite the bakery is the bus stop for the No. 4 bus which runs from Hotel Palace (down the road from the apartment) to Dubrovnik Old Town. The only issue was a admin/communication issue with the Booking.com site/app. the message function would not work properly - we could not send the Aspidistra Shadow a message via the message facility. We were able to email. It seemed as though, Lilijana (the host), received our messages OK but we did not get hers. We could see that she had sent a message and could see the first few words but not the whole of the message!! The facility to contact Customer Service didn't work either - which seems to be about par for the course these days. It made initial communication - about checking in - more difficult, awkward and uncertain than was necessary. As I say, it was a Booking.com admin issue - not an issue with the accommodation, flights or holiday overall.
• Alexey (10/5): Perfect place - Wonderful location 1 min walk from the beautiful beach, in the best surrounding of Dubrovnik, shops, walking trails, bus station with a quick route to the old town. Wonderful hosts that made our stay great. Beautiful garden with a perfect climate. The apartment has everything you need for a long stay, incl. tiny details. We'll definitely return one day!
• Ricardo (10/5): Exceptional - The place is comfortable, really nice and very well located. Just right next to the sunset beach and next to the bus station to the old town. The host very nice and kind. I'd like to come back. It's hard to say it, but maybe the only missing part are the bath amenities, you need to bring it with you. Even though there's a supermarket really close in case you missed it.
• Jean (8/5): Confortable flat in a gorgeous location - Nice small but functional appartment with lovely shaded outdoor terrace next to Lapad beach and city bus stop. There is no indoors living room in case the weather doesn't permit usage of the terrace (rare)
• Inese (10/5): Wonderful vacations in very nice property with close location to the see! - Perfect localization, very close to the see and touristic streets, perfect conection to center eith bus. Very helpful and wellcoming host! Perfect for child, garden around and possibility to sit outside in the mormings amd evenings enjoying perfect climat.
