• Yolande (10/5): - Our stay at Forest Haven was a 5 stars stay very neat and çlean, iit is nearby all. amenities that you might need or want to visit. It's 5 minutes drive to Donald Gordon Wits clinic which we enjoyed.The area is safe and secure. The Hosts are both very hospitable and Friendly. We will definitely return there if needed for short or overnight visits. I can really recomend.

The small apartment had everything we needed and perfect for our one night stay. The area is beautiful and we had a nice walk in the morning in the tree lined streets. The bed and pillows were a little soft for our preference but really this is a small matter compared to everything else.

• Katie (10/5): Wonderful hosts, nice garden and lovely, safe location in Forest Town. - My garden room, the garden with grass, a family of African ibis visiting morning and late afternoon, the kitchenette to prepare some meals, a safe neighbourhood to walk around in daylight (to Issy's coffee shop and beautiful Zoo Lake, a happy family place at weekends). Most of all, I liked my hosts, Ingrid and Graham, and enjoyed chatting to them. They are very sociable, informative and helpful. They even have their own generator if the power goes off, and a hot water bottle for colder times.

• Robert (10/5): Forest Haven is that home-away I have sought for business trips to Joburg. - My hosts answered my message queries promptly and will all the details I would need. Upon arrival I felt immediately welcome. There was even a small surprise fruit platter (and I later discovered one of the tea containers filled with crunchy granola). Overall the little touches indicated considerate hosts who went out of their way without making a fuss about it.
• Liezl (10/5): Exceptional - I spent two evenings at Forest Haven. It is a beautiful quiet space. The unit is thoughtfully appointed and felt like home away from home. Ingrid was very kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again. There was nothing not to like.

All was done to make our stay as pleasant as possible, The kitchen was small but very well fitted out. The air-conditioner was much appreciated in the hot weather. The TV went on the blink after every load shedding, but the hosts went all out to get it working again for us.

• Robert (10/5): Home away with no reservations - I was surprised my request for early access (to bag drop) was responded to - immediately. On arrival I felt welcome and immediately comfortable. The suite I was shown to; spacious, modern, uncluttered. Later I learned there is another cottage that is equivalent (I am staying in it on my 2nd trip and it is equally well catered for). Despite being in a residential area there are excellent nearby restaurants that catered well for me as a solo traveller. Access to the city centre is simple and direct. For anyone with security concerns the surrounding area has active (security) patrols and their efficiency is evident in the number of solo joggers and walkers I have seen in the early morning runs I took around Zoo Lake. I can say with confidence this is where I'll be asking for accommodation on future trips to Joburg. Having stayed in other similar accommodation; hotels and lodges, on a value scale there is no comparison. In terms of comfort and generally feeling welcome I am delighted to have discovered Forest Haven. It is what I have sought for my business travels.

The accommodation is extremely comfortable with everything one needs. Modern and exceptionally clean. Ingrid, the host is continually upgrading equipment, etc. For example, with all the loadshedding she purchased a gas plate and stove top kettle for the unit. Ingrid is friendly, helpful and interested in her guests. One feels like family, rather than a guest. Absolutely nothing.
