• Wenjia (10/5): Excellent choice for a short stay in the city - This was an excellent choice for our short 2N stay in HCM. The location was fantastic: 1-2 mins walk from excellent restaurants/coffee shops, 10-15 mins walk to the key tourist attractions in the city, and within the pickup zone for Cuchi tunnel tours. The room was clean, comfortable and very functional. The wifi was strong and stable too. I have no complaints and I would absolutely stay here again! We had to message the owner to ask for check out instructions on the day itself. It should be provided with the check in message so there's no rush at the end.

You have everything you need there and if you're a digital nomad the wifi is blazing fast (500bps) and you have a small desk. • Kseniia (10/5): A cute tidy room on a quiet street. - The hosts were wonderful and hospitable, they would reply in a very short time and give a hand on every step. There is also a laundry service in the building, so you can have your clothes washed and dried in a few hours. Also as a nomad I was touched to see ear cleaning sticks and cotton pads. I don`t think I`d ever seen those in a hotel not to mention a rental room. The cleaning ladies were supposed to come every 2 days, but they came like 2 times a week. But once again, the hosts are great and if sth like that happens to you - just tell them. Otherwise everything was great!

The bathroom was clean, with good pressure. The place is a bit tricky to find, so you need a bit of time to understand what's what. But other than that, all good.

• Dawei007 (9/5): A great quiet find in the heart of HCMC! - I love that you self check in and there's no reception desk watching your every comings and goings! The owner is readily available via phone or WhatsApp if you should need anything and her Uncle lives there. Room was immaculately clean. When it came to leaving I had the cleaner knocking on my door at 10:15 am! I had told the owner I was leaving about 10:30 am. I understand they need to clean the room before the next guest but I'd give at least 10 minutes AFTER the time the guest has said they're leaving to check on the room, rather than 15 minutes BEFORE!😜

I’ve been to HCM around 20 times and never stayed in same place twice but I have now found a place I would return to. Mini mart at end of street, excellent vegan Restaurant opposite accomodation and easy walk to markets and river for my exercise! Great shower and the softest, cleanest and fluffiest towels of my entire three week trip! Air con great. Everything great. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

• Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - This might be the most clean and neat accommodation that we’ve had in 3 months of travelling in SE-Asia. The beds were comfortable, great AC, nice and clean bathroom with great water pressure and the location is great. Eventhough you’re in the city center, you’re in an alley so there’s not a lot of noise. There is no reception, however any questions we had we could just text and we would get a response super fast. We also did laundry which was done the same day and very affordable and clean. All in all a really great stay!

Room size is suitable for 1 person, but a bit challenging for 2. It looks the same as the photos. I love the scent selection of the amenities. I can use my coffee maker & refrigerator well. Well equipped with a standing mirror & couple of hangers. Housekeeping is done every 2 nights. Payment is done in cash. Jolie & uncle are very attentive to me. I feel loved as a first-timer in Vietnam. When the time comes, I'd love to come back again in the future!
• Amy (5/5): Nice and clean, but don't count on the internet. - The place was clean. The owners were very helpful in accommodating an early check-in. The WiFi was super slow. It would drop out completely from time to time and I was unable to email a 2 page pdf. It was not able to upload with the slow internet. Also, be careful. The legs at the bottom of the bed stick out much further than the bed frame and I nearly broke my toe.

Shower pressure was good and lots of hot water. Air con worked well. I would definitely stay here again. The room was the perfect size for me as a solo traveller. But, as mentioned in other reviews, room may be a bit small if more than one person. If you are more one person, consider booking the larger room type.

Communication with the host was fantastic, and she offered many excellent food recommendations to eat like a local. The apartment is conveniently located to many restaurants, shops, and makes it very easy to walk around and explore HCM. Great to have air conditioning for some relief of the summer heat too! Would return. Note that payment needs to be organised in cash at the end of your stay. We didn't realise we hadn't yet paid and needed to navigate an alternative payment method to square up the bill.

This meant it was very quiet (except for the birds singing in the morning! which I loved by the way) as there aren't people coming and going all night. Simone's Shophouse was very fast at responding to any messages and enquiries I had. The location was superb, only a few minutes walk from the Ben Thanh Market, and within walking distance of most of the city centre attractions. The room was spacious (and I had the smaller sized option) and very clean and light. There is a fridge which was great for keeping your drinks cold. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, stayed 3 nights in the end, and this would definitely be my first choice if I am ever able to visit again Nothing

Good communicaton with host. Easy check-in and check-out. Quiet at night since the place is not at a main street. Nice big fridge, air-con, kettle for tea and coffee and also a microwave (didn't use it). Grab from and to the airport takes around 30 Min (depending on traffic) and costs less than 200K.

• Minh (10/5): Exceptional - Only stayed there for a night, but my stay was exceptionally comfortable and unforgettable. The owner warmly assisted me on everything and even before checking in. The room (I stayed at room 3B) was spacious, clean, comfy and was bathed in natural light (which I love). Could not ask for more!

Loved the large window and lots of natural light it provided. Very quiet, as the unit doesn't face a street or alley. Our host was very responsive to my questions throughout the stay. • Lucy (10/5): A perfect stay - We loved our stay here. It was our first night in Vietnam for our month trip. The room is in a great location, close enough to walk everywhere but also in a nice quiet area so you’re not kept awake. The room has everything you need with a fridge, kettle, hairdryer and microwave. The hosts provided recommendations for places to eat, get coffee etc, this was perfect for a first visit to the city. We tried the top recommendation for pho and it was incredible. We mentioned in the messages that we were planning our trip whilst staying and they left some Vietnam guide books, (not sure if they’re always there but they were super helpful). They also let us leave our luggage in their store room on our first day as we arrived at 7:30am. All in all we loved it and would highly recommend. Only one thing was the bedside lamp seemed to be a different plug to the socket so we couldn’t get it to work, but this really wasn’t an issue.

• Jean (9/5): Cozy and home-like - Location. Cleanliness. Friendly host. Love the sound the aircon makes.... Feels like a rainy day outside. Generally good. Just be careful of the bedframe with the legs protruding which are easy to bang into.

Maison Marou is our neighbor! There are also plenty of delicious restaurants just around the corner. The kindness and help of the host and family is invaluable - thank you so much for your assistance! I will come back again in just a few days, so see you soon! Adaptor for the bedside table lamp would be very useful as well as having a kettle to make coffee and tea during our stay in the suite room.

• Karan (7/5): Good rooms but could do better on in person support. - Rooms were nice. Room has TV with Netflix connection, which is in a way unique compared to other places. Room was very tidy and clean. There was no in person meet or support at the property. The property accepts only cash payment. The elevator wasn't working when we arrived so we had to carry our luggages 2 floors alone... although it was working afterwards. The hot water in tap comes in short bursts which is uncomfortable.
