Guest Reviews
- avichay (9/5): Would recommend! - The location & the host are amazing
The place is super clean comfortable and accessible and has many restaurants nearby Temperature control does not cover all areas and the bathroom area was pretty cold

- Dzmitry (10/5): - If Carlson moved to Rome, he would definitely choose a small "castle" like just not far away from the roof.
- Konstantina (10/5): A fantastic stay. - We loved the terrace, the decoration and the high ceilings.
- Milena (10/5): -
- Birgit (10/5): -
- Sue (10/5): Would definitely return when next in Rome - Sara, the owner greeted us and showed us around. Great communication. The apartment felt homely with a wonderful terrace. It had character. Comfortable and well equipped. Air conditioning very welcome after hot days in Rome! The location, Testaccio, is more residential so felt more “Roman”
Lokalizacja w spokojnym miejscu, blisko do lokalnych knajpek i sklepów.
Polecamy
- Deborah (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Was nice and handy to local attractions, restaurants and markets and our favourite gelato store just over a block away
The outdoor area was a great place to chill after a long day of exploring

- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): Great value in authentic Testaccio - Mauro’s house has been in his family for 115 years. Big and spacious with a great roof terrace. Right across the road from Testaccio Market. Mauro could not have been more helpful and price was exceptional Shower and bathroom a bit squeezy.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - For the price, incredible. More spacious than the photos suggest. Great terrace. Some coffee pods provided.
- Cristian (10/5): Excellent - Excellent location, quiet neighborhood, close to the market and two cheap supermarkets, means of transport at hand
Terrace and AC 5 stars, elevator Not the case.Watch out for the second bathroom, the one with a key, you can get stuck inside It's a good idea to take your phone with you in case this happens You must take the key with you in the bathroom
- Emre (9/5): Great experience - Very spacious. You have everything you need in the house and many markets very close by. Also good restaurants in the neighbourhood, bars, etc.
The terrace is also perfect to sit down and relax and have breakfast at. Would recommend travelling with the buses or with the public steps / bikes to the city centre, as it is 2-3 kilometres distance (which can be exhausting in the sun).
- Cmazze (9/5): A great and warm home outside of home in Rome - The house is a proper lived in house, in the heart of Testaccio, just above the market and a few steps from the square with the same name. Close to transport links (piramide Is a short walk away and lots of buses pass nearby), walking distance to Trastevere and good part of the centre. If you want to experience real life in Rome, it's an amazing and highly recommended choice: ample rooms, a rare and amazing immense roof terrace for your evening drinks and breakfasts.
The service provided was incredibly friendly, welcoming and effective: communication was prompt, precise and helpful, always got answered very quickly, check in was on time and flexible (had to change it last minute due to flight delay), very welcoming and I was provided with plenty of advice on surroundings and options. The property had a surprising variety of complimentary items, from toiletry, to coffee (both a pod machine and moka with both coffee types available in abundance, snacks, bottled water and the kitchen was fully furnished, definitely a far cry from the lack of items in many self serviced apartments.
Definitely a recommended stay and planning to come back whenever I decide to visit Rome again Not really an issue for me, quite the opposite, but do consider the house feels and is lived in, so if you are looking for smart, modern, IKEA style furniture it's not the right place. It wouldn't have half of its charme otherwise
- Lellielli (8/5): Very good - The apartment was nice and more spacious than we thought. It was a nice surprise that the rooms were all separate except the kitchen. 2 bathrooms with showers was a plus. The balcony is very big and has many beautiful plants. It's a nice place to hang out. The host was friendly and made us feel welcomed. 😊 I could definitely come again when visiting Rome. The elevator didn't always work on the ground floor. One of our companions has bad knees so that was sometimes a little inconvenient.
- Steve (8/5): Lovely home with beautiful balcony - Great at place to stay, we loved the interesting decor. The staff running the place were very helpful. Beautiful balcony full of plants. Decent location, restaurants and shops in walking distance. Toilet seat needed fixing.
- Cristian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (10/5): Great apartment in a super location for a true slice of life in Rome. - Outstanding apartment, we'd gladly stay there again. The rooftop terrace is just fabulous, and the apartment has everything one could need and is charming, quirky, filled with interesting art and objects. Really loved this place. Many good restaurants around, and the Mercato Testaccio is next door with great offerings. Enjoyed shopping and cooking. Convenient to many bus routes to the attractions. You get a sense of regular neighborhood living. Terrific all around.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet Neighborhood but close to attractions with access to Bus and Metro Regional Trains, great hosts friendly and available. Lovely apartment, terrific penthouse lots of space and great views and access via loft also. Great restaurants and and also supermarkets close by. nothing
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - Great Rooftop Terrace, Quiet Neighbourhood, Close to Transport & Attractions and Testaccio Market. Facilities were good, lift and air conditioning great. Owner very friendly and hospital. Nothing
- Patrick (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing outdoor area and very functional apartment. Very clear communication from the host who was lovely and also gave us some great local recommendations. Would highly recommend
- Monika (10/5): We will definitely come back - Perfect location! Beautiful house that has a soul
- Vitus (9/5): Superb - I really like a typical real Italian laka. The host is also very helpful, quiet corners with a real Italian market and restaurants.
- Anda (9/5): Place to return when the flowers bloom - We stayed at the apartment in January. And still it was so nice to have a lovely terrace. The rooms were large with a lot personal detail, as you can see in the picture. It felt like home. There was everything we need in the kitchen, but we enjoyed going out to local restaurants, which are cheaper than in the historical centre. We liked the neighbourhood very much, and it is close to historical centre. A place to return in summer :) Bed in the largest room could have more comfortable mattress. Also the owners should get a larger boiler for hot water. For 4 people it wasn't enough.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy apartment, different from most tourist accommodation, in a great location, quiet neighborhood.
- Beatriz (10/5): Super Spectacular!!! Very Homie. Very Italian - Everything was great. ESPECTACULAR The host was super fantastic. There was a taxi strike, and he was so helpful for us to move around the city. I will come back and stay here.
Watering the plants was so great. It made me feel like home with my garden. Only suggestion: maybe a second set of keys.
- Jose (9/5): Superb -
- Paolo (8/5): A great place for people who want to dig into the "true Roman experience" - It's not the typical anonymous Ikea furnished place: you can feel life in the place and get a feel for who was living there, it's not fancy but very roomy.
The large terrace is the main feature, in the evening you can see other people eating or partying on the roof tops of the neighboring buildings. The market a block away has its own great atmosphere, and the area in general is perfect because not in the core of the masses of tourists and offers abundant variety of places to eat/drink. Families with children must be aware that there's no inside dinner area (we were only two so no big deal), maybe not too comfortable in winter time. This was our 5th stay (and definitely not the last), the items in the kitchen always seem to vary, we bought a couple of minor utensils that we left for future clients, no big deal.
