Guest Reviews

- Egle (9/5): - Great location, clean, great host We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It was very clean, with comfortable beds that made it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to great restaurants, shops, the Colosseum, and all the main highlights.
Fabio is an excellent host—friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. He kindly allowed us to check in earlier and also let us store our bags after check-out, which made our trip so much easier.
Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!
- Nick (9/5): It was very enjoyable stay and a great location. - Location was excellent. Lots of nearby restaurants. A bit tricky to find the front door.
- Viola (9/5): -

- aikliang (7/5): - Near to city center, ample cafes and restaurants downstairs. Bonus was having a supermarket just a few doors away. The major attractions were all within 30 minutes walking distance. The metro station was just down the street but we choose to walk. Fabio was quick to respond to our queries. The top stairs was a bit steep but didn't really affected our stay. Fabio was excellent helping to take our luggage up.
- sergio (8/5): - Location The stairs
- Ben (8/5): - We liked the experience of living in the heart of Rome. It was lovely to have separate bedrooms after our plane trip.
We were grateful that we could leave our luggage there earlier than check in
time. Friendly, helpful host. We didn't like it that the exact address wasn't given to us clearly. It was small letters and faint in the email. We spent a lot of time trying to find it.
There weren't enough bowls and the kettle was full of scale- unusable
There were more flights of stairs than advertised. Very challenging for international travellers with heavy bags.
- Julia (8/5): Great stay for young travellers on a budget. - Communication was easy and uncomplicated. The apartment location is top, a very beautiful area and well connected to subway and the central station. The apartment was clean and the bedrooms spacious. The air conditioners worked well and we had extra ventilation provided in each bedroom. The apartment has a small balcony which I give an extra plus. The kitchen is furnished with a fridge with small freezer compartment. There was nothing that we disliked and I recommend staying in La Dolce Vita, especially if you are on a budget. Just some advice for future travellers: The bathroom stall is rather narrow and the bed matresses are soft (if you prefer that rather than hard matresses).
- Fiona (8/5): Excellent location - The location is fabulous. A short walk to the collosseum. Near to lots of lovely restaurants.
Host came with the key and explained all of the facilities.
The apartment is spacious, and it was nice to look out of the balcony and see all the comings and goings. Air conditioning wasn't very strong, so we used the fans.
The stairs are a killer after a long day. But the view from the balcony makes up for the trek.
- suphi ugur (7/5): - Konumu iyiydi. Gezilecek yerlere oldukça yakın olması kolaylık sağladı. Mutfakta yeterince eşya yoktu. Çatı katındaki daireye çıkmak in asansör bulunmuyordu, uzun gezintilerin sonunda beş kat merdiven çıkmak oldukça zorlayıcı oldu.
- chanturidze (1/5): -
- jill (8/5): - Fantastic location near everything. Lots of space, great for a family or larger group. Everything we needed and easy check in and check out. Lack of working aircon was an issue in the heat
A lot of steps to get to it
An airer to dry clothes would help
Needs a bit of tlc to repair items
- Giuliana (5/5): -
- D (9/5): Superb -
- Leandri (8/5): Great and spacious apartment near a train station - Lovely large apartment with really comfortable beds and a nice sunroom area. The configuration is a bit strange, but if you all know each other its fine. Also loads of stairs to get there, but Fabio was amazing and helped carry the bags up and down.
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic!!! - Fabulous quirky apartment
If you want to get the full rome experience and live like a local.. this is the place for you
Amazing area so much life and great access to metro and trains ..central for walking to everything Nothing...
Quite a few stairs to access the property but this adds to the overall authentic experience and the balcony view is amazing !!!!
- Tamara (10/5): Amazing location! All you need for vacation - Amazing location! Very spatious and great big balcony! The street where the apartment is located is great! We were allowed to leave the baggage after checking out. There is no elevator in the buliding, and the stairs are quite difficult. Also, AC is not working properly. This would surely be the issue during summer.
- Aubrey (8/5): Very good -
- Zachary (9/5): Great location - Great location. Via Urbana is a great street to stay on. Easy walking distance to many great attractions.
- Manan (5/5): Passable - It's on attic.. Facilities were poor
- George (8/5): Value for money with perfect location - Fabio is a great host, all went smoothly. The location is perfect, you can visit almost everything you want to see in Rome on foot. Also you can find very close top rated restaurants and bars to enjoy Italian food and coffee. The three air-conditions didn't work as expected, fortunately there were heaters for the cold. The stairs may be uncomfortable for some people.
- Sharlene (5/5): Stairs. - Location to transport and tourist spots. 4 flights of stairs and no lift first 3 not to bad last flight very steep. Having to pay extra money for city taxes adding extra costs (Cash) we were told about this in email but forgot as we booked very early in the year and just let Bookings.com take payments for our bookings. Verandah leaked when it rained. Nowhere to sit and relax as a group first room could be made into a lounge area also wifi did not work in back rooms where single beds were. TV did not work being winter and cold we were back early most nights.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - We’ve been staying here in Christmas break- great price for the location!
Perfect location, lovely quiet road only a few minutes walk from Colloseum. Cute apartment- although basic, it has a charm and is equipped in all that’s needed for a few days stay: has a kettle, microwave, toaster- area to make a drink and if wanted, can use a stove. Shower cubicle is small but water flow great and nice hot water.
Beds soft and very comfy and bedding and towels white clean like in a good hotel.
Fabio was fabulous- answered phonecalls and willing to help. Thank you Fabio for a lovely stay.
- Catalogatore (7/5): Good -
- Robert (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cheng (7/5): Ok for value - Good location Too many stairs
- Rebecca (7/5): Wonderful spot in Monti - It was in a very good location, so close to so many of the amazing monuments like the Colosseum, it was only just a few minutes walk away. The balcony looking over the streets of Monti was fabulous, and you could get a great view of the surroundings. The configuration of the apartment means you have to walk through a bedroom to get to the rest of the rooms.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - The location of the the appartment is perfect.
You are in the heart of Rome.
Great for visiting all the main sites. Nothing really.
- Rianne (6/5): Pleasant -
- Monique (7/5): Good - Location, location, location. This property is located on the main food street recommended by tour guides. No shortage of options and walking distance from all main sites. Owner easily contatable when called. Lovely view of the street below The AC didnt work (and havent for a while judging by other reviews). There were fans but didn't really help on hot nights.
It rained the day we arrived and the sun room was wet and roof leaking. This meant we had to sit on our beds as that was the only "sitting area".
There are 2 separate, bookable rooms and photos are of both. Not clear which belonged to what room.
Gets quite loud on the street over the weekend, but to be expected
- Marissa (7/5): We enjoyed the location as we could just walk to almost everywhere we want to. - Fabio was very accommodating as he met us early to drop off our luggage. We also didn't have euros on hand for paying the city tax, but he worked with us patiently to get our payment transferred online. The location was great as we just walked to almost everywhere. We walked to the Basilica, the Colosseum, the Piazza Navona, and even to the Vatican City. Carrying our luggage up to the 4th floor with the marble steps in a very hot temperature was very uncomfortable. Also it was very hot inside and the AC didn't work. Although Fabio got us a portable AC the following night, it was still very hot. Probably if there were curtains that could block the heat on the glass windows, it would have helped.
- Łukasz (10/5): All good - Bardzo blisko do Koloseum
- Michael (8/5): Great location, good for families. All as advertised, however none of the air conditioners worked. - Great location, close to the train station. Was as advertised Apartment had three air conditioners, none worked.
- Sarah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Madeline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hülya (10/5): Good location - Location and big home
- Laurie (7/5): Great place to crash if you are visiting Rome - The apartment was clean and we had lots of room and privacy. The air conditioning was poor. Fan was only working. There was no body soap in the bathroom.
- Stacie (10/5): Exceptional - Location Nil
- Jelena (9/5): Superb - Location Need to be renovated
- Dagmar (8/5): Nice place to stay for a group for a few days. Easy checkin, even easier checkout. - a nice apartment for 2-3 people (or even more, combined with the second apartment), perfect for a few days in Rom! Nice restaurants/bars in the street. Near to Termini and Colosseum.
Yes, it is on the 4th floor, so a few stairs to walk. But not that bad, and who cares when walking around in Rom all day? I didn't saw the taxes and charge, additional to "total" while booking. This was to pay in cash. So my fault, just take a closer look.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ioannis (7/5): It was ok. - Excellent location No lift , change of apt after we got in.
- Marta (7/5): Great location but apartament needs a deep clean. Main areas are ok. Stairs are super steep at the top. - Location Needs a deep clean
- Sandra (10/5): This was a great stay! - Space was clean and comfortable. Lots of room No lift
- Philippa (9/5): Great host - The warm welcome from Fabio. We arrived earlier than expected and he was very gracious. The location in Monti is perfect for us as we love this part of Rome. It is close to some attractions and the station but is not overrun by us tourists! The apartment was warm and comfortable even though we had some interesting and varied weather. We loved it and would go back. Needs redecorating in a simple colour scheme. Some electrical sockets are in odd places and are tricky to use.
- Stuart (8/5): Enjoyed our stay here, host very helpful, and location excellent. - Excellent location, less than 10min walk to Colosseum. Host was helpful, apartment was large and great view from balcony. Shower was small.
- Noel (7/5): Great place to stay, close to Train station and Metro lines, nice cafe and restaurants near by - Great location Up 3 flights of stairs, no problem for us but may be difficult for someone older
- Gabija (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dickinson (10/5): Great place, excellent central location to all the main places to visit - It was a lovely place to stay to experience a real Italian apartment, central to all the key sites like the Colliseum. Be prepared though for lots of stairs! But worth it as so much atmosphere and lovely places to eat nearby! People who live in the apartment block so friendly and helpful and Fabio was a lovely host, he prepared the sofa bed ready for our arrival. Stairs! four floors, no lift but a small price to pay for a great and affordable central location!
- Lauren (8/5): Very good -
- Alex (7/5): Good - Location
- Wendy (4/5): This apartment was not good value for the price we paid. - Location was great close to the metro and walking distance to main sites. The host Fabio was helpful. He met us at the apartment even though we arrived late at 9.30 pm. He booked a taxi for us to get to the airport. The apartment was shabby and run down. The bathroom was awful. The kitchen did not have enough cups or glasses for us to use. The third bedroom opened up into one of the other bedrooms. It was very noisy at night. The apartment is on the 4 th floor and the steps are very steep so it’s hard getting your luggage up and down.
- Nadya (7/5): Good - Location and balcony are huge pluses of this apartment It would be nice to fix the kettle and shower
- Niels (8/5): (Simple) apartment that has everything you need. - The layout of the apartment is a bit unusual, but it was clean and had everything you could ask for. The host was very easy to reach and helpful and the location in particular was excellent, a cosy street with a few nice restaurants and walking distance to most of the main attractions in Rome. And by the way: the stairs to reach the apartment are not that bad at all :D
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Great size apartment! Large enough for us to do pilates in the separate lounge room ! Plenty of space . Good location . Full kitchen and large fridge .
- Ioanna1987 (8/5): Very good - Location, friendly owner, comfortable and spacious Shower a bit narrow
- Vanessa (6/5): Great location within walking distance to sightseeing spots, but needs updates & repairs!! - This apartment is in a prime location, just a 10-minute walk from the Roma Termini train station. It‘s also only a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and 20 minutes away from the Trevi Fountain.
The host is very nice and replies very fast to question regarding check-in and check-out.
The apartment is big and is equipped with 3 bedrooms that sleeps 5 people. The balcony and sun room is a nice feature. We felt safe in the location. The apartment needs updates and is very old. The AC isn’t working prober and it was hot all night. This was our biggest issue and a no-go for us & the reason why we wouldn’t stay here again.
The shower is not working prober either. Water is squirting out of the shower head everywhere and there is not a lot of pressure due the leaks. The bathroom is located in the sun room, has no AC and gets super hot during the day. The apartment is located on the 4th floor with very steep and narrow steps. This wasn’t particular a problem for us because we only traveled with a backpack, but I can‘t imagine this with a checked bag.
The pillows are old and you can see stain through the pillow cases. There is no closet to store your clothes and unpack your suitcase
- Alan (1/5): Disappointing - Convenient location Unclean even though there’s a €12 cleaning charge per guest. Soap scum and mould in shower. Toilet seat loose. Sticky tile floor. Had to wash cutlery and dishes before using. No tea towel supplied. Dirty ashtray left on balcony. Sharp broken step out to balcony. Found tv remote under queen bed. Air conditioning units will turn on but not effective at 16 degrees but fans supplied. Stairs are steep and narrow and a challenge with a suitcase up 4 floors.
- Vishwas (7/5): It was value for money - Nice sofa + utilities, lots of towels and bedsheets, very close to Cavour metro No lift is a big issue.... It is 4 floors with 4 floor steps being very steep. Also a dryer would help ease up washing.
- Josie (6/5): The location of the apartment was close to the train station and Via Cavour and Via Nazionale. I stayed one night in tra - Good Location
The sheets and bed were comfortable.
The owner carried my bag up the stairs and the cleaner carried down.
The owner was friendly and available to take questions.
There is no sign at the property to mark you are at the correct location. I called the owner. The property was not well cleaned. There used towels in the bathroom. Food left in the fridge.
The stairs to the property were many, whilst it is noted on the booking page, it was more than anticipated with a large bag.
The air conditioning did not work properly. They were set at 16deg and did not do more than 22deg on a hot night in Rome.
- Bobot (10/5): Exceptional - A large apartement in the center next to the metro and the train station
The staff was very useful and helpful for our questions
- Carryn (8/5): Very good -
- Gurarjan (8/5): Very good -
- Ivelina (8/5): Very good - Location is perfect, close to transport, there are many restaurants, bars and shops on the street. It is not typical rental property as it gives the feeling that you are a guest at someone's home. Sheets and towels were pristine, beds were comfy, there was place to lounge on the terrace. Missing elevator was no problem for us, because the rule of traveling in Europe is "backpack or death" anyway :)
Kelum who welcomed us was great. The doors squeaked a bit.
- Alex (7/5): Good - Great location for all Romes attractions and owner was lovely. Did not have any loo roll and door was very stiff struggled to unlock the door.
- Mary (8/5): Great location, very comfortable but very tiring climbing up and down the stairs especially with luggage - Facilities were excellent The 4 flights of stairs
- Simon (5/5): Passable -
- Rosmari (8/5): Very good - Great location and genuinely Italian Sometimes difficult to do the 70 steps up to the apartment
- Jackson (8/5): Hot in Roma - The location was convenient to metro and great restaurants, just a few doors down. Fabio was friendly and helpful. Air conditioning was minimal. 4 flights of stairs. Whew! But that is Rome.
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Fabio the owner is extremely helpful and easygoing. Would definitely stay here again because of him.
- Zachary (10/5): Nice apartment, close by to restaurants, bars and shops. -
- Goodman (3/5): We could not wait to leave. - First: This space may be fine for some people. The location is good with places to eat nearby.
Second: The Booking.com filters brought this space up in a search for hotel with elevator, which it was not. Admittedly, I should have looked more closely. The description is clearly an apartment. Third: My review is for families. Spoiler alert: Heck no.
The description says the “upper floors accessible by stairs only.” The entire apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator. The last flight is very steep. A few more steps exit on the roof. We did not venture there. But the door was open for children to explore. There is an attempt at greenery in a pseudo-atrium space, but the plants are dead. The exterior does not have a sign. Our taxi driver was nervous to drop us off there at night until we reached the host by phone. We had to wait 20 minutes on the street with our suitcases for the host to arrive and let us in.
And then, the cramped inside. The AC units spew lint balls directly onto the beds. We slept with our heads at the foot of the bed to keep the lint off our faces. The shower appeared to be moldy. We all decided not to use it. And the proverbial cherry on top are the stains on the wall at the head of the double bed. It doesn’t take too much imagination to figure out their source.
Our reservation was for one night. We only stayed here 12 hours. We could not wait to leave.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (5/5): The beds were nice & great Location. - The location was great. The best thing about this place. The main thing I want everybody to know is that you have to climb up with your luggage five flights of stairs before you get to this unit it was brutal.
Also, there are individual steps that go up and down throughout the whole unit.
It’s also in need of a major update.
- Catherine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Radostina (7/5): Good -
- Deegan (3/5): Poor -
- Vanessa (7/5): Good location and price. Apartment ok. - Best thing is the location, no doubt. The apartment itself is ok, nothing wrong and nothing spectacular either. The host was nice, he let us in to leave the luggage before check in time. Mattress could be more comfortable and kitchen could be more equiped in case you want to prepare meals. He let us know in advance, but it isn't the most comfortable thing to go up 4 floors by stairs - there's no elevator in the building.
