Guest Reviews
- Yorck (10/5): Wir kommen wieder - Einfach super schön
- Erich (5/5): -
- Ying (10/5): Walkable , safe and quiet location. Beautiful house, the owner is very friendly. Definitely recommended. - It’s beautiful setting indoors and outdoor! I love everything. Only my daughter who had hard times to walk up and down in spiral staircase because she is fears of high.
- Shirley (10/5): Final Thoughts: If you are looking for a spacious and spotless place to stay with a wonderful host, this is it. The comb - Green Nest Apartments is a truly nice and spacious apartment that offers plenty of room to relax. It is exceptionally clean and, most importantly, very quiet, providing a peaceful environment that made for a restful stay.
Exceptional Hospitality
The highlight of the experience was the host, Elena. She is incredibly nice, thoughtful, and well-mannered. It is clear she is well-educated and gentle, and her professional yet warm approach made us feel right at home. None
- Ashoke (10/5): Outstanding! - The Green Nest Apartment is situated almost at the top of a hill outside the wall surrounding Florence city centre. It is a quiet and very nice neighbourhood. The apartment is on the ground floor of the house where the hostess/owner Elena lives with her family. There is another apartment on the first floor.
The Green Nest Apartment has a living room with open kitchen, a bedroom and a toilet with shower cabin. The whole apartment is immaculately decorated with beautiful antique furniture and paintings. The kitchen is well equipped - there is a washing machine, dish washer and an oven. We were provided with enough towels, pillows and linens. The bed is very comfortable. There is a TV in the living room and a high- speed wifi to connect to internet. Elena put cookies, milk, tea and coffee as a welcome kit. She also provided a printed document with many important information, such as phone no. for taxi, some good restaurants nearby, supermarket address etc. Just outside the apartment, there is a small but very nicely maintained garden and lawn. Those who are travelling by car, can park their car on the street.
From the apartment 10-12 min walk (mostly downhill) will bring you to Porta Romana, from where you can get buses to reach city centre and Piazzale Michelangelo. From the apartment other places of interest such as Pitti Palazzo, Ponte Vecchio, Ufizzi gallery are all within 30 min walking distance. On the other hand, buses are available from a very nearby stop (only 3-4 min walk from the apartment) to train station Firenze Santa Maria Novelle and other parts of city centre.
Our hostess Elena is a very nice lady with big friendly smile. She is always there to help - one can send her text/whatsapp messages for any queries.
If anyone wants to spend some quality relaxing time in the beautiful city of Florence, the Green Nest Apartment is one of the best places to stay. There is nothing to dislike in the apartment.
However, I want to mention a couple of points:
1. The apartment does not have a microwave. We used the oven to warm our food and it worked very well.
2. If you are walking back to the apartment from the bus stops (on Via Seneso), it is a steep uphill walk, which may prove to be challenging for old people and/or people with walking difficulties.
Piccole cose, come qualche appendino in bagno o in cucina.
- Geoffrey (10/5): Beautiful apartment in Florence - Beautiful apartment, very friendly host, very clean with lots of character. Private veranda, amazing view of Florence. Beams were a bit low in the bedroom, a few head bangs happened, stairs took some getting used to.
- Branimir (10/5): - Accommodation is in a beautiful Tuscan house with a fantastic garden. It is equipped with everything you need, comfortable and modern. The owner is very approachable and you can feel that she cares a lot about the house and that the guests feel comfortable. All recommendations for a romantic stay in Florence. -

- bogdan (10/5): Best stay one could hope for. - If you ever wanted to sleep in a museum, this is your chance. The apartment is not your regular four walls and a bed, you're transported in Elena's dream nest, after her graduation.
You can feel the love in the many many items that were collected. There are paintings, books, old tables and chairs, cute toys that give you the feel of a carefully created museum.
Even the wooden beams that you'll inevitably hit your head on have their charm.
The view from the tiny balcony is beautiful, likely one of the best views you could find in Florence.
And if you are lucky you'll get your own piano concert, in the morning, beautifully played by Elena's daughter (niece?)
For me that apartment was the highlight of the Firenze trip and if I ever go back to Florence i wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
- Valerii (10/5): - The apartment is located in a quiet and peaceful area, perfectly reflecting the spirit of Florence. It is decorated in an elegant classical style and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, with absolute cleanliness in every detail. From the terrace, you can enjoy an incredible view of the city — truly unforgettable.
Our hostess, Signora Elena, was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, a bright representative of Florentine culture and hospitality. Her warmth and care made our stay even more special.
We wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to experience Florence in an authentic and refined atmosphere.
- Marta (10/5): Great unit with a wonderful host. - Elena was a lovely host. We were in the ground floor unit and it was very cosy and beautifully decorated.
Unit was located about a 15 minute walk to the old town. The only issue was parking, it was paid street parking between 8am-8pm and the meter down the street didn’t seem to work, so we were worried we were going to get a ticket.
- Omri (10/5): Elena is amazing, the house is beautiful, the location is great!! - Amazing apartment, feels like home, if you like art, this is the place for you.
Very cozy, clean, and again, feels like home in all the good ways! Nothing!!
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional -
- Llerena (10/5): Cozy and romantic with wonderful view apartment. - Everything about this apartment was as described. Also, even though is near a busy road is very quite. It had a wonderful view of the city of Florence from the cozy terrace. We had a rental car and never had a problem parking on front of the property. Because of the ZTL (zone traffic limited, only taxis and residents permitted inside historic town) could take about 15-20 minutes to reach the historic area (25 min walk) is easier to use taxis (8-13 euros). The apartment is so beautiful and cozy but tall people need to be a little careful in some areas of the Apt that has low areas. The only thing that was a challenge was the narrow high spiral metal staircase ( I wouldn't recommend it for people that has knee problems, some over weight, afraid of highs and definitely not safe for drinkers!) Other than that, we didn't have a problem going up and down from it. Also, has an electrical luggage lift (very helpful) is well lighted and secured at all times, we actually left the car windows open a couple of nights.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Alaa (9/5): Gorgeous apartment in a lovely neighborhood - Probably the cutest apartment I have ever rented recently, it’s clear that the owner lived there and has so many memories, well decorated, authentic furniture, so many books and lovely paintings. It’s located in a lovely street just outside the gate and is near enough the central square. Elena is an amazing Florentine lady who lives downstairs, she told us beforehand about the narrow staircase leads to the apartment which wasn’t an issue for us. She made a list of restaurants and helpful information. It’s on a second floor and the ceiling is quite low in some areas, me and my wife banged our heads few times until we got used to it :D if you are a tall person like us it might be challenging to walk around sometimes.
- Mariëlle (10/5): Missing Green Nest already and definitely will return!! - The apartment is situated in a lovely residential area on one of Florence’s hills. Period houses, hills, great views and, while near to enough to the city centre, still a haven of peace and quiet. It’s lovingly decorated, clean and spacious with a cozy terras from which you have a stunning view over Florence and the hills. It has all the amenities you need and is in immaculate condition. Elena, your host, is a gracious and very welcoming lady, who does her utmost to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay. All in all Green Nest is a diamond! Nothing to not like! But if you do have trouble with stairs or heights don’t book the upper apartment since it has a somewhat daunting spiral staircase which you have to conquer to reach the apartment. For us (aunt of 52 and niece of 20) it was no problem at all.
- Mehrabi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ana (6/5): Uncomfortable and frustrating - Location was great, host was lovely. It’s the attic of a house. Not really an apartment.
The ceilings were so low I could’t stand up in half of the space, and hit my head repeatedly on lower panels. I could also hear everything from the main house, from talking to vacuuming. This was not disclosed in the description of the place, it felt misleading.
- Morris (10/5): Perfect stay - Lovely host. Grazie Elena for everything
- Kylie (10/5): Perfect Location Away from Tourist Hordes - Perfect location not far from Boboli Gardens. Close enough to the centre of Florence by bus (10-15 mins with bus stop 200 ms away) but far enough away to relax and see some countryside. Lovely view and street. Nice outside space. Cosy inside. Friendly owners. Excellent Michelin Guide restaurant (Podere 39) close by
- Ingrid (8/5): Very good - very friendly host and authentic nice appartment in the quiet surroundings of Firenze climb up hill from center Firenze to the appartment . but this was solved using car and bus.
- Marsha (10/5): This apartment was behind a beautiful villa with gorgeous views. There was a little sette on the patio and the decor was - It was so pretty and very comfortable.
- Ania (8/5): A lovely apartemnt, well furnished but may be a challenge for persons who are not fit. - The apartment is beautifully furnished and has a lot of charm. A small balcony offers superb view on Florence and surrounding hills. The tiny kitchen is well equipped though we only ate breakfasts in the apartment. The basics are supplied, no need to rush to a supermarket.
The bus to the center not far off and frequent enough. The italian style bathroom was a bit of a problem as well as the low ceilings in the bedrooms - the apartment is on the last floor.
- Johan (9/5): We had a very nice and inspiring stay and really liked the apartment and location. -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Daniil (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - This apartments are absolutely incredible! Everything you need, great interior and the views.
Elena is a wonderful host, who kindly provide with all information about restaurants, attractions etc.
Highly recommended!
- Alina (10/5): Exceptional - We loved Green Nest!
It is located near Porta Romana, easy to access the city center and the train station. The bus station is 3 min from the location. Near the apartment you will find great restaurants. The area is very beautiful and quiet, if you need to rest.
Elena is a great host and she will give you the details about the sorroundings.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Location, just outside the city walls, bus connections, nice restaurants near by.
- Camacho (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Very good - The ambiance , the quaint furniture and tge views. Owner was very helpful and kind. The electric sockets, which is common to all Italian properties.! Lovely showe, r but smooth sloping shower tiles where you have to be careful not to slip .
- Abigail (10/5): Wonderful apartment, great for a longer stay, and couldn’t ask for a better host - wonderful view, quiet neighborhood, very clean, and Elena is an amazing host! With it being just a little outside of the city, there was access to incredible restaurants (recommended by Elena) that were closer to our property and away from crowds. nothing- it was perfect for us!
- John (9/5): Superb - Elena was the nicest host of our entire vacation. She clearly takes great pride in her place, and it shows. I really appreciated the many beautiful things she used to build her "nest," and the construction of it, from the old beams to beautiful hardwood floors and a great shower, was really special. Felt like a home-away-from-home. The view from the balcony was great too. Tight spiral staircase wasn't a big deal for us, and the luggage lift really came in handy. Parking was easy! The low ceilings in certain places gave us a few head bumps, so if you're tall and/or not too coordinated :) be warned. Charm more than made up for it, for us. Shower/bathroom could use a couple of towel hooks.
- Rada (10/5): Amazing! - The apartment was amazing, very clean and spacious, with a magnificent view from the balcony (you can even enjoy the sunrise). It is located on the top of a hill so be aware of that. The city buses 36 and 37 have a stop nearby. We like to walk and we were with our 6 y.o and for us it wasn’t a problem. You are very close to Porta Romana and you can enjoy the local vibe of the neighborhood. Our host Elena is very nice and kind, left us detailed information about the city and let us check-in early. Definitely recommend and we fell in love with the place and the city! Grazie mille, Elena! :)
- Berker (6/5): Nice but tiring. - Very silent and cozy neighborhood. It’s about 35-40 mins walk from city center and almost at the top of a steep slope street. Consider car rental or taxi budget to stay here.
- Ross (10/5): A lovely, peaceful apartment, would love to stay again! - The private terrace was lovely, the kitchen was well equipped, the decor was lovely and traditional and there were amazing views up the hill from the street! Elena was lovely and gave us loads of great recommendations. The bathroom was spotless and the shower had great pressure. The kitchen had everything you would need. Nothing - but, the property is at the top of a steep hill which is something to note if you are less mobile. Also, note that most of the plug sockets are the old fashioned skinny prong plugs.
- Reinhard (10/5): Exceptional - Very arty appartement, friendly, welcoming host, adventerous steps to the appartement, winch for the luggage... Remember to duck if you are tall, ceiling a bit low on some points
- Sergei (9/5): Superb -
- Petteri (8/5): we enjoyed -
- Eliska (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice, very clean and spacious apartment with a private terrace. Close to the city centre even by walk (5min to Porta Romana).
- Lilia (10/5): The stay was wonderful. - The location was excellent, quiet retreat outside of the city.
