- Phillip (1/5): Checked out early. Would not return or give a good recommendation. Only positive was quick response when I complained. - Near the Pantheon Extremely damp. Clothes and bed sheets became damp. We woke up feeling wet. Booking.com now asking for proof of dampness. How do you take a picture of dampness? Cannot upload a video either. Had to lay clothes around the settee for them not to be so damp. Used the air con and the dehumidifier which made no improvement.

- Martin (5/5): - Ubytovanie je historickom centre Ríms Byt je v pivničných priestoroch, denne svetlo tam nepreniknuteľné. Byt je veľmi vlhký.

- Nataliya (5/5): - Property has a great character and fantastic location Damp, smell on arrival. It got a bit better as we turned air onditioner on heat. Perhaps this won't be a problem in the summer. Kitchen poorly equipped and almost unusable. No table, very limited crockery. Socket loose in the wall was quite dangerous and need attention before renting again!!! Poor soundproofing so we weren't very lucky with arguing neighbouring in the middle of the night.
- Lindsey (8/5): - Loved the location, very quiet at night. The decor, it really made the whole Italian experience! The bed wasn't overly comfortable and the slight smell of damp with having no ventilation, although it's expected when your underground!
- Irene (3/5): It is a basement, no windows, humid. If you have allergies like I do, I would not recommend this. - Ubicación Suecidad, Humedad, No hay ventana, Es un sotano.
- Ζαφειρια (7/5): The service from the owner was amazing I recommend the studio only for the service - Comfortable however underground Underground
- Cai Yi (7/5): A great location with a different theme to the norm for accommodation. - The apartment was located really well as it was close to a lot of great sites and eateries! Hop on and hop off bus just down the road so super easy to get around and close to bus to get to Roma Termini.
It was a very different apartment with awesome winding down stairs and would def recommend for a different experience!! There was a terrible moldy smell and I couldn’t sleep well thinking that if I breathe it in I’d get sick. Windows were open so I was scared bugs would get in to bite us and I had a skin infection so was extra careful.
- Natalia (2/5): - Lokalizacja Zalane łóżko, brud na kanapie/podłodze. Ogrom wilgoci

- Terumi (9/5): -
- Biron (7/5): - Location was good and the place was clean. It was very dark because there were no windows .
- Isla (8/5): We knew exactly what we were getting ourselves into with this stay and the previous reviews were honestly super harsh!! - The location was great, super unique stay, very cold underground. As long as you know that your booking a basement accommodation and know what to expect you will have no issues.
- Fabio (10/5): -
- Toni (9/5): I loved staying in this accommodation and if I come back to Rome I would stay there again - I loved how the apartment was designed. It was very aesthetically pleasing. The location was amazing. I would definitely stay there again.
- Denis (1/5): Bad - Nothing , in a basement , no windows , no air con .
Like a cave . Promotional photos very carefully taken to make it look better , even a cat sitting on a balcony.
We found another hotel and want our money back . I have photos and will send them to you as proof .
Please do not place anybody at this venue as it is an absolute rip off .

- Katie (5/5): Perfect location, apartment just a little strange. - Location was spot on.
Decor nice.
Cool apartment. No windows.
Toilet and shower too close together.
- Lillian (7/5): The lack of natural light would forstall me from staying there again. - It was very close to the place we wanted to visit. Easy access to many restaurants and shops No windows, the staircases were a little dangerous and kitchen light was on all night. ( I assume because the stairs were scary and would be impossible in the dark).
- Felisin (9/5): Superb -
- Colette (9/5): Convenient and cosy - Great central location
- Pekic (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (8/5): Great location, great value for money, unique interior - The location is great, wedged in between Largo di Torre Argentina and the Jewish ghetto. Walking distance to anywhere in the Centro Storico. Good selection of stores, restaurants, bars in the vicinity. The flat is very unique, a bit gritty but perfectly fine. This isn't the place you stay at for maximum comfort - no windows, good opportunities to bump your head, a creaky mattress - but as long as you're not fuzzy, it's not really an issue.
- Laura (9/5): Fun stay, unique experience! - The Ancient Roman Mansion was a really fun experience that me and my best friend thoroughly enjoyed! It was clean and comfortable as well as very unique! A few things looked broken (but nothing that's needed to enjoy the stay, just visually) and there were a few obvious "quick fixes" but it didn't feel cheap!
- Kinga (7/5): Good - Even tho we did not meet the host personally, he was easily approachable via WhatsApp to answer all the questions. The apartment is a basement, but we knew this when choosing the location so we were also not surprised nor bothered by any "basement" inconveniencies (basement smell, little natural light). In general, we really enjoyed the stay - the location is GREAT! The apartment has a truly Roman charm and probably we are coming back :)
- Varvara (9/5): Superb - Excellent location in the historical center. Can walk to many places. Shops and restaurants are nearby. Interesting design of the apartment, reminding the ancient Rome. Clean linen and towels. I liked the entrance door, it looks like a door to a treasury. The apartment is good for 2 persons Have to be prepared that the apartment is on the basement, it used to be a cellar. There is no real windows. For us it was ok, but maybe it's important for somebody.
There was a small issue with the electric line in the last day. I guess the host has fixed it fast.
And there was no tea and coffee cups, only glasses, not convenient for tea. But these are small things. Overall the apartment is good.
- Anastasija (8/5): Excellent location - Most of things were ok, but the most uncomfortable was that there was bot any windows or natural light.
- Kalina (10/5): Exceptional - Unique place! We liked a lot the style of the decoration. The location was great!
- Amelya (8/5): Unique experience for our first visit to rome. - The location was amazing. I’ll put it there. Everything is great walking distance. We had a lovely time and found the apartment very cool. The mosaics look amazing and it did have a kitchen space with an electric double stove, a little sink and a little fridge and lots of counter space. There was a tv but we didn’t use it. There’s a little cupboard space which is great for unpacking and just so much space in general. Lots of light too! The bathroom is a bit cramped as the toilet is in the shower. This means that we had to plan showering at a specific time to avoid one of us having to walk around the wet floor. The toilet moves slightly and is a little unstable. The bed is very creaky; one of the sides more than the other but it can be a bit restless. Leave the air conditioning on otherwise it gets quite stuffy. There was a noise for a few hours most nights coming from the air con downstairs.
- Jacqui (10/5): 100% recommend! - It was the most unreal beautiful apartment I’ve stayed in. So gorgeous and will be recommending to friends visiting Rome! Could’ve had body wash/shampoo provided (only a tiny tiny bottle there)
- Celal (3/5): Poor - The only good thing I can say is its location. It is very central and you can walk everywhere. And the house is quite cool, but unfortunately the reason for this coolness is the humidity. It was written in previous comments but I didn't expect this much, the room is very humid. It wets your dry clothes where they are placed, or the towel does not dry and is constantly wet. There is a small window where you can get air from outside.
There are too many small flies in the room due to humidity. They multiply constantly. It is extremely disturbing. We couldn't sleep some nights because of killing flies.
There are problems with electricity, the fuse keeps blowing.
The room is not very clean, there was garbage from previous guests on the floor, the sheets, armchairs, pillows, bathroom, kitchenware were generally dirty. There was mold on the plates. We stayed for 7 days, the cleaning came 1 day before the last day. Since the entrance is underground, sometimes there could be noise.
The house was a bad experience in general, the time we spent in the house was unpleasant for this reason.
- Toni (6/5): Beautiful place however has an odour - It was a beautiful room layout and decorations The room had an odour which smelt like mould. There was a lot of moisture in the room which impacted some items we owned
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - This was, by far, the best place I've ever stayed at while visiting Rome. It was a 25 minute leisurely walk to the Coliseum, and very close to the Pantheon. Due to its location, tucked away on a side street, it was very quiet day and night. There is a grocery store close by, and that is where we purchased our breakfast and lunch items. Because this apartment has a kitchen, I was able to cook and eat here, which was cheaper than eating every meal at a restaurant. Lastly, I loved the TV...I was able to sync my streaming accounts and watch TV in English while I wound down for the day. My only regret, is not staying longer!
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing - Location so so good ! I had an allergic reaction to something in the room, I have asthma and breathing was difficult down there. Was very damp and the bed sheets where moldy. Loud when people come and go during the night and morning. Mattress was the worse we have had during our 6 months traveling.
- Cawley (9/5): A great base to explore Rome - The location was perfect and the apartment was lovely and cool Shower was a bit cramped
- Gündüz (8/5): Very good - The location was central, even walking distance to the Colesseum and the trevi fountain. The house was a little damp
- Dean (6/5): Pleasant - Very unique place The kitchen sink had a problem and flooded the kitchen. We ended our last morning trying to stop the water damage and turn off the water. And plugged out the fridge in case of a fire. The pipes were already damaged and had tape wrapped around them. It's just lucky I only used the kitchen to wash up whilst we were leaving. But was hassle we didn't need or want
- Lynne (8/5): Very good - Fabulous location and interesting apartment. Easy checkin/checkout. The bed was uncomfortable, maybe OK for 1 person to lie in the middle. But sagged badly in the middle. It could be noisy at night with people coming and going.
- Tate (4/5): Disappointing - The fact that he said he will refund This was underground it was more than damp. The bed, the couch. I have been sick since we left there. Had to get antibiotics and am still crook. Ruined our Europe experience. He says he will refund the nights we didn't stay I don't think we should have to pay anything. We moved to a hotel which cost us considerably more. Ibtried to contact him 1st night by email, no response, same second, ended up texting I'm. Tgere were much better apartments upstairs but i would not of been able to climb the stairs.
How do I get my refund please
- Jack (9/5): This was a fantastic stay, location was perfect for us. - The location. We were in easy walking distance to a lot of things to do and see and for areas farther way it was only a couple mins walk to the nearest hop-on bus stop. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. We stayed a week and they had a person come in and replace towels and a bit of cleaning halfway which was nice. The owner was very easy to reach for any issues. Nothing bad but just be aware for people looking to stay that this is basically a basement that was converted to a room. It's quite a bit of floor space and easily accommodates 2-3 people, but there are areas like the bathroom that can be a bit cramped if you are tall as it is under a stairwell. The main door is a beautiful glass door but it doesn't block sound, though we didn't really have a problem with it.
- Alessandro (6/5): Pleasant -
- Robert (10/5): Best place to stay in Rome - Great location, very generous room size, we were provided everything we needed to cook and prepare food for ourselves. Very friendly host and we had a wonderful stay Nothing :)
- Charlie (9/5): This place is perfectly situated for a few days in Rome! - Very quirky, unique apartment A toaster and two mugs for coffee would have made our stay perfect!
- Eddie (8/5): Very good - The property itself was way better than what I read from the reviews. Great location and was pretty quiet for a good sleep.
There are shortfalls similar to all other properties, but it was small to mention. Bed itself was a bit flimsy and can be improved
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teanna (1/5): Very Roman Vibe but Not Clean - Unfortunetly it was a dissapointing end to our holiday. The room was cool however riddled with mold, you could smell it was you walked in. We stayed here 2 out of 4 nights and 1 day to long as I developed a very bad cough and was not well due to the poor cleanlines of the room. The host was accomdating and refunded us the 2 nights we did not stay but unfortunetly I would not receommend this place.
- Aleesha (7/5): We enjoyed our stay. - We loved the location. Within walking distance to all of the sights we wanted to see and great restaurants. The apartment was spacious. It had aircon and a dehumidifier which was great. Because the property is located in the basement we found it was quite damp. Using the dehumidifier helped this however there was still a damp smell.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant location, lovely apartment.
- Monika (10/5): Exceptional - Location was the best
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ozenen (9/5): Locationwise very good ;) - The location is amazing, definetly really good for the price you pay. It was really chilly inside even though outside was burning. It was perfect for hot Rome days It is bad that there is no sunlight and air ventilation.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (10/5): we loved this unique apartment in a great location close to the Pantheon - the location was great. It is close to the Pantheon and yet is in a quiet area. The property is quirky, stylish and unusual. Being a basement apartment it is also cool though the temperatures outside were hot No complaints at all
- Kimberley (10/5): Excellent experience, will absolutely book again! - Location was fabulous, the apartment was nice and cool on hot days and there is plenty of space for two people
- Anonymous (8/5): Good value and central - Super central and main tourist spots are within walking distance. No proper ventilation since it’s in the basement. However, it’s fine since you just need a good place to sleep in the end and is passable. It’s almost a crime having an Italian accommodation with no coffee!
- Catherine (10/5): comfortable apartment in a great location. - it has a great location.
we loved its unique character!
it’s a basement apartment beautifully renovated, with real style!
the fact that it was on 2 levels meant there was plenty of room to spread out!
plus it’s very private. nothing!
there is no view from the apartment as it’s a basement, this might be a negative for some people but it was not a problem for us.
- Mike (9/5): A cool Roman basement, so close to everything. - Location was excellent, really central to everything.
The apartment was a basement that was fully tiled floor and walls to resemble ancient Rome.
Communication with the owner was very easy over whatsapp.
- Ana (7/5): Good -
- Ilze (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- Caitlyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gentian (9/5): Superb - The location was fantastic, minutes walk to all the main attractions. The owner was very helpful and supportive. I would recommend this place if you’re in a short trip to Rome and want to cover a lot of grounds.
- Kristine (10/5): Exceptional -
