Guest Reviews
- Sandra Cekov (8/5): Nice stay with great location - Location, great service of the staff Generally all good.
Maybe to refresh a bit the parts of the furniture of velvet sheets and wash windows. It didn't bother us cause main stuff was very clean but those looked like they weren't washed a while

- Jana (9/5): We had a super nice stay in Rome. Close to apartment is a parking for taxi, which was very convinient, when going to air - Great location, eveything was closed by apartment, like restaurant, super market, taxi, shops, coffee..
Apartment was clean, comfortable, quick and easy communication with host including all usefull information about tips for restaurant and market. A bit noisy due to location, but nothing strange.
- Giurgica (10/5): - The location is great...very close to the main atractions in Rome. The place is clean and very comfortable. I recommend it!
- Kristian (10/5): - Great location, clean and spacious with everything you need for a stay in Rome. Hosts were forthcoming and supportive at every step. Highly recommended!
- VASILEIOS (6/5): -
- Klaus (9/5): -
- Krzysztof (6/5): Problems with electricity - Style, furnishing, location, very kind caretaker - it was all very nice. The main problem was connected with electricity. In a nutshell, in this flat only one device can work in one time: either dishwasher or air conditioning. When we wanted to light the lamps having these devices turned on, the whole electricity was almost immediately going off. It was extremely inconvenient, because we had to sit just in the light of candles! We were assured that a repairman would fix it, but eventually nobody turned up.
- Debra (10/5): -
- Javier (7/5): -
- Charles (10/5): Fantastic! - It was very clean and comfortable for a family of 4. Great location and the AC worked great. A little noise from the Main Street but not bad overall
- Scott (10/5): -
- Marina (9/5): -
Czysto i ładnie pachnące ręczniki. Działająca klimatyzacja i ogrzewanie.

- Sylvie (7/5): -
- María (10/5): - Todo correcto.
- Eirini (10/5): Amazing overall! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something a very central and spacious apartment. - Location was amazing. It was my third time in Rome and this apartment was by far the greatest location I’ve chosen so far. Host was very welcoming, had great suggestions when we asked for it and solved everything that came up quickly. The second bathroom needs a little love and the apartment lacks a full length mirror.
- Shane (10/5): -
- David (8/5): It was very nice and cozy. - Is was very safe. It was a bit dusty.
- Angela (9/5): We had a very pleasant stay. The host was very kind and helpful with our questions prior to arrival. I would recommend - I loved how safe I felt when inside the property. The beds were very comfortable for sleeping. Nice clean place to stay. The couch was dated and uncomfortable
- Kathleen (10/5): Amazing - Beautiful property great location excellent communication with the guest. We got let off at the wrong location after coming from the airport and the host came and found us. Nothing
- Laurence (9/5): Parfait !

- Eckart (8/5): - Check-in was easy. The place is nice fairly spacious. The AC was working great. The hot water boiler stopped working in the middle of the day. I contacted the “house manager” shortly after 5pm and didn’t hear back until he next day after 9am - which means that we didn’t have a shower neither in the evening (after a very hot and dusty day in the city) nor the next morning before our departure.
For a place that charges as much as this one I’d expect that the response time of the manager would be faster - and there should be availability of the manager outside the 9-5 window. Otherwise the communication was good.
- Bridget (10/5): Perfect for my family - The suite was exactly as described and was a great fit for us. Fantastic location, and an appealing interior that is full of character! We really appreciated having two bathrooms and a full kitchen (refrigerator, range, convection stove, microwave) since one of my party does not have the constitution of a great traveller and needs a day of "plain cooking" to recover partway through a trip (there are mini marts in close walking distance, in addition to many restaurants, which made this easy). My kids liked having space to spread out when we came back during the hot part of the day to rest in the air conditioning (in the past when we traveled to a hot-to-us place in summer, we had a hotel room, and they had felt very cramped). Being close to a bus stop was also very convenient for sightseeing and we took the bus to several places. Note: I have older (teen or young adult) children now, but when they were a lot younger I would not have booked a place with a loft even though they would love it (they need to be past the age of pillow fights, or past the age of liking to drop things on each other from above). Use your judgment about whether it's a fit for your family.
The convenience of being on a main street means that there will be some amount of traffic noise. My kids are city kids and like some noise so for us this was fine.
- Roy (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Jen (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (7/5): Location, location, location! Manager Gabriele was amazingly responsive and endlessly helpful! - Location was perfect, but the major road was a bit loud, even at night. The extra bed in the mezzanine was comfortable, but my son in law (6 ft. Tall) hit his head on the low ceiling multiple times. The air conditioner in the living room leaked, and one of the sliding doors to the bedroom was very hard to close, compromising privacy.
- Marie (8/5): Very good -
- Israel (8/5): Very good -
- Qian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Cindylou (4/5): Awful check-in experience - The apartment was lovely and the location was great. The check in arrangements were awful. We let them know we'd arrive between 3-4pm. We were advised to ring the doorbell for F. FONNESU when we arrived, and they would let us in the 2 lobby doors. A code for a lockbox at the apartment door was provided, to get the keys. We tried the doorbell for 20 minutes and no one answered. I emailed the host and recieved no reply.
When I finally got to the apartment, the code I was provided to open the lockbox didn't work. We had been staying close to Pisa in a small village with no internet access for 2 days before coming to Rome. In that time frame they had changed the code. So, being very travel weary and scrolling through the messages a couple times, I found the new code and we were able to enter. Not a great welcome.
Kitchen basics were missing such as food wrap, salt, pepper and sugar.
- Alex (10/5): I have been to Rome at least 6 times and finally found an apt I would return to - Every single thing
Location is perfect for walking distance to everything we wanted to see
Within 5 min of apt are at least 15 restaurants with a 4.7 rating or higher
The apt not only beautiful but well appointed with very comfortable beds
2 bathrooms and laundry facilities how can u lose
So inviting we had a glass of wine to relax before running out to c the sights
Def will book again
Prompt correspondence with the host Not a darn thing
- Jose (9/5): Superb -
- Marta (7/5): Location, location, location! - The location is fantastic, the apartment is located in a strategic position within short walking distance from many attractions, can't get better than this! The internal design was tasteful, and the beds were comfortable. We also apreciated the prontness of staff in solving problems and their politeness. The bathrooms need improving and are only accessible by the main bedroom, which is not ideal for groups that seek some privacy.
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - Our hosts were extremely helpful and prompt with replies to questions. The apartment was cozy and comfortable and in a very central location.
- Mark (10/5): A very comfortable, relaxing apartment right in the centre of Rome. - A very comfortable, relaxing apartment right in the centre of Rome. The property has charm and character, and is full of modern conveniences including air conditioning, hob, oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, so it feels like a home from home. It’s in a vibrant area with lots of bars, restaurants and shops, and is within walking distance of the Pantheon, Colosseum and Vatican, so it’s a perfect base for sightseeing or just staying local and taking it easy.
- Magnús (8/5): Would book again - Perfect location with a bus stop right in front of the door and easy walking to most tourist attractions we planned to visit.
The interior was really Italian and good atmosphere in the apartment. Few minor things came up but the staff was super nice and helpful.
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheree (3/5): Poor - The place is really spacious. Definitely needs some updates. AKA drapery and couches were very dusty. Great location except for the incredible noise out the windows. Right under the bus stop. Didn't get one good night's sleep. This may be fine for a young family but we are in our '60s and need a rest at night.
- Julia (10/5): Spacious apartment near Plazza Navona - A spacious apartment perfect for a family with teenagers as there is a second bedroom on the loft floor. Good to know there is a washing machine, ironing board and iron and kitchen appliances (although we didn't use those things). The location of the apartment is central, everything can be reached on foot. Many good restaurants are surrounding the apartment.
And most importantly the staff who were very supportive and helped us with every question we had, booked us a transfer from the airport and back (a very comfortable Mercedes Vito) and helped us book a restaurant we wanted to visit.
We enjoyed our time in this apartment much! The only downside is that the loft bed is too short for people over 180cm tall.
- Preeti (8/5): Beautiful apartment in a very convenient location! - Location was perfect - close to the old town and transport options. Decoration of the apartment was very charming. Everything we needed was available and great communication with the hosts. Layout of the apartment was unusual for a group but this was clearly communicated to us in the information about the apartment so we were aware.
- Andi (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Mihai_mancas (8/5): An absolute little gem in the centre of Rome... - Excellent location, despite the street sound, but as expected in the centre of Roma...
Clean beds, comfortable, plenty of towels and toilet facilities incl a wonderful bidet.
Small kitchenette perfect for a rainy evening and cooking some pasta...
2 mins walk to some wonderful restaurants and bars
A complete and wonderful guide in English to Rome and attractions, restaurants, tips on behaviour and caveats. And yes, I read it almost fully...
Excellent comms and help available through phone and WhatsApp... Pricey, but hey, it's centre of Rome...
Sounds from the smart buses in Rome(voice over) at 6 am in the morning...but hey, it is the centre of Rome...
Feel a recurring theme here?
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation is located in one of the most convenient and safe locations in Rome. All of Roma's tourist attractions can be reached on foot, and local popular and reasonably priced restaurants are located in the alley behind the accommodation.
The accommodation is very nice, big and clean. It is especially suitable for traveling as a family of four.
There is an elevator in the building and plenty of towels are provided, so we didn't have to ask for more during our 4-day trip. I was able to drink delicious capsule coffee every morning. After shopping at a nearby supermarket, you can cook in the hotel's kitchen. There is a surprising amount of silverware and wine glasses. You can use the dishwasher after eating. There was a washing machine so I was able to do laundry, which was essential during the long trip.
Contact with the manager was possible in real time without delay and was very friendly.
I would be happy to recommend it to anyone I know who is visiting Roma. The circuit breaker tripped shortly after turning on the air conditioner heater(The washing machine was running at the same time). Fortunately, I easily found the breaker box next to the door and restored it, but I did not use the air heater during the trip. Whether the electric capacity is exceeded or a short circuit occurs, the cause will need to be found and resolved in the long term.
- Elga (8/5): We enjoyed our stay here. The location is really convenient! - We are seasoned global travelers. And rarely have we ever done a detailed review but this particular booking in Rome deserves a thorough review.
- The apartment is spacious and can comfortably fit 5 people, with 2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine (in second bathroom), and all essentials you would find in a home.
- House manager is responsive so if you face any issues, you can expect a reply within a reasonable time (WhatsApp or message through booking.com).
- Located in the old town, conveniently close to the Vatican and to the other monuments on the other side of the river.
- Nice neighborhood with a lot of restaurants, boutique stores, convenience groceries.
- Everything is walkable from this apartment and if you’re willing, you can actually take a 20-minute walk to the Vatican, and if you prefer to take public transport, there are bus stops very close by.
- Has old world charm, comfortable beds and decent furniture.
- Car transfers arranged by manager worked well – hassle free pick up and drop off. - The back area where second bathroom and washing machine are located was very cold so we had to close the bedroom door to “trap” the cold air there. You need to walk through the bedroom to get to second bathroom.
- Second bed is on a loft - okay for kids or petite people but not ideal for tall people.
- On our second day, the power went out. The manager pointed out that we may have had too many lights/electrical appliances on. It happened when my husband and I were having breakfast with only the kitchen and the dining table lights on. Thankfully, we were leaving that morning and the hotel manager sent maintenance to fix the issue. By the time we returned, power was restored. Could be an “old building” issue.
- John (10/5): Great - Everything N/A
- Nazanin (8/5): Gtrat flat in an excellent location - It’s a big flat.
Excellent location (can’t be better)
Very comfortable mattress
Tall ceiling
Classic Roman decor a style - it has a character
Very easy to communicate with the host The location is perfect, but the flat is situated on a busy main road, and the noise can sometimes become unbearable. When the windows are closed, it's fine, and we couldn't hear much of the noise. We were able to sleep easily with the AC. Keep in mind that everywhere in Rome is noisy as it's a very noisy city.
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Great location , - Location, size, washing machine space . Bus stops right outside Hot water goes pretty fast but we’re aware of it
- Marc (9/5): Superb - Great location in the old city. Nice atmosphere in the apartment.
- Nicole (8/5): A well equipped and comfortable apartment in a great location. - Having 2 bathrooms was great and the location was perfect. It’s very dark unless you open all the curtains. No lighting apart from lamps.
The loft bedroom is very stuffy.
- Netanel (9/5): A fantastic family apartment in Rome! - Beautiful and clean apartment. Very versatile with incredibly good use of space. Air conditioning worked great. The location is excellent and is walking distance from pretty much anything you would want to see in Rome. The property manager was responsive, polite and helpful at every point and the communications between us were clear and helpful. I would highly recommend this apartment for any family or couple who want to see Rome is style. Also, having a washing machine and a drying rack was great. We ran a load every night and by the next day it was all dry. We came back with no dirty laundry. Very few negatives. The entrance lobby is a bit smelly due to the garbage bins, but I think this is a general problem with apartments in Rome. The electricity could not support three air conditioning units simultaneously but we really only needed two. The beds were not of equal quality. The king is excelent but the queen was a bit too firm.
- Maria (8/5): If not for the power outage in the height of summer this would have been close the perfect - I loved the high ceilings, paintings and old world feel of the place. It was very spacious and homey The electricity supply of the bldg got cut during our stay although not within the control of the property owners
- Ann (8/5): Great location and comfortable stay! - Great location, plenty of space. Flexible and responsive hosts. Broken toilet seats and shower had troubles but they sent repair men to fix things.
- Todd (9/5): Great location to explore Rome. - Great location and very spacious
- Timea (5/5): Would not recommend this to anyone for future stays - The location No coffee capsules given for coffee machine. No kitchen towels or paper towels. Microwave didn’t work. No water in fridge upon arrival.. ( it was 36c in time most days).
No shower gel or soap in bathroom.
Place is lovely for historic appeal however it is extremely tried and lacked any kind of care..
- Jackson (8/5): I would stay there again, but I would bring a fan. - We loved the location, the great communication with the host, the cleanliness, and charm. It was very warm, especially sleeping in the loved. If there were a fan in each bedroom, it would make a world of difference.
- Salvatore (9/5): Wonderful Apartment. Hosts were awesome. -
- Basili (8/5): Very good -
- Mandi (9/5): We can highly recommend. Lovely unit in an excellent location! Management staff were really good. - beautifully presented, neat, excellent locatio Noisy street but location is what counts. Needs a mirror in the 2nd bathroom
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (9/5): it was short but comfortale - Location. style checkout was a bit too early with no option of bag storage
- Caramelko (9/5): Great experience, the next time I will come to Rome I prefer to stay here - The location of the apartment is perfect. The apartment are like a piece of history Almost everything was the best. But I note a few things that I don't like:
Microwave doesn't work good, we didn't have coffee there, but coffee machine was and it's strange, because if you come for a few days you don't want to buy a full pack of capsules. And also there was no salt, sugar.
- Violante (9/5): Superb - The location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from Piazza Navona and several restaurants.
- Nathalie (6/5): A great location but the apartment could benefit some improvements - We are a family of 4 who stayed one week in this apartment the week before Christmas.
We had arranged to be picked up at the airport so the arrival was really smooth. The driver of the van, Valentino, was very professional and we were at the apartment in about 45 mn because of the heavy traffic. ( our driver was Florin on the way back. His driving was super fast and not so safe. We were at the airport in less than 25 mn)
As planned the key was in a safe box as nobody was waiting for us, unlike what was written on the site when I booked. No need either to bring the 150€ cash deposit as it was written on the site. So all this was good.
The location is perfect, very close to Piazza Navona and Campo dei fiori. We didn't use the bus or the metro during our stay, even to go to Vatican which is a short walk. The only time we should have taken a bus is to go to Termini station. If you arrive by leonardo express, it is about 40 mn walk to the apartment and at the top of a very hilly neighborhood. Apart from quite a few incidents, we had a good stay in Rome. There are lots of shops and restaurants around. LA MONTECARLO is a very good place, full of Italian families and friends. The Carrefour express is convenient to buy everything you need for a correct price. The apartment is very dark. There is also a lack of LIGHT in this place. The photos on the site show some very bright rooms. They are not the reality., at least in winter. Although the windows face south, there is a huge building on the other side of the street which blocks all sunlight. It must be nice in the summer when it is very hot and the sun is higher but in winter it is a bit depressing to be obliged to switch on the lights. Moreover the ceilings are so high and painted in very dark colours that there are no ceiling lights but only lamps on tables, which doesn't help. The problem with the high ceilings is also the heating. It was quite mild outside so we didn't really need the heating, except in the morning before going outside. But when we did put the heating on,the heat didn't warm up the room, but the ceiling 4 meters higher. It was necessary to increase the temperature to have a comfortable room. This was also a problem with drying our laundry. Having a washing machine was one of the reasons why we chose this apartment. Yet because the heat was at the top of the room, the clothes took days to dry. We ended up hanging them on the grid of the upstairs bedroom.
Talking about this bedroom, there is no lamp, so no light, which is not convenient at all. Another dark spot is the kitchen appliances. When we arrived, the fridge was not working. My husband was obliged to lay down, remove the wooden board under the fridge and plug it in a very dusty place. there is a dishwasher but it doesn't dry. As there was no cloth provided we couldn't dry anything. Leaflets about Rome, a 2nd set of keys would be nice. The main door handle needs fixing, we ended with the handle in the hand one day.
- Phoumala (9/5): Superb - big apartment, perfect location, value of money hot water doesn’t last long
- Lutz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect. Clean, large and ready for our family.
- Danae (9/5): A brilliant spot at the heart of Rome - Great location, comfortable apartment, friendly host. The air conditioning is lovely in summer, and it's very safe and convenient. Well, it's Italy, so the plumbing is tricky (not the host's fault). They should also replace the curtain rails so that the curtains close and open properly.
- Marietta (9/5): Superb -
