Guest Reviews
- Sybille (10/5): Wundervolle Unterkunft -

- Chilvers (8/5): Overall we had a great stay and would return. - Excellent location. No more than 40 mins walk to any major site. Surrounded by numerous restaurants (check out: Osteria di ponte for grilled meat / Montevecchio for pasta / Melotti for risotto. Excellent small shops locally. The roof terrace is a real bonus. Margherita the host was very helpful. The apartment was a little cold and drafty. Also, on the top floor and so you need to be fit.

- Elzbieta (9/5): Sjarmerende, stor leilighet med fantastisk terrasse - Beliggenhet. Nært det meste. Mange restauranter og butikker i nærheten.
Stor leilighet med alt man trenger.
Nydelig terasse.

- Charlotte Kampp (8/5): Authentic Italien apartment with a nice terrace - This is the most amazing little apartment in the middle of Rome. It was spacious even though we were 5 people living there. Yes you must walk the last 50 m from the taxi to the front door, yes you must walk up the stairs to 4/5 th floor, but this was totally okay for us. The terrace with a nice view was one of the best parts with the apartment. There was a great communication with the host and her nice helper. And they were very flexible. Of course it’s a little old because of age, however the oven doesn’t really work. The shower holder is broke, so you have to hold it in your hand while showering. The pillows for sleeping are flat and very hard. You have to walk with your trash 200-300 meters. However all of this we can live with to have the experience we had living in an old apartment in Rome.
- Anna (8/5): Our favorite in Rome! - Terrific apartment, great location, nice view from the terrace.
Don’t try to reach it by car, take a taxi or use your legs.
4th floor, no elevator so your daily cardio routin will be done perfectly.
If you choose this apartment, travel light as it will be really a challenge to bring up your huge suitcases EverThing is a little shubby, but that is exactly about true roman atmosphere
- Mariana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (1/5): Roman adventure - The apartment is within reasonable walking distance of Castel Sant Angelo, and Vatican City. . The air conditioning does not work. The building isn’t reachable by car. It is down a narrow road. The exterior of the building is Dilapidated. The apartment is on the 5th floor of a walk up with dilapidated stairs and tiles on nearly every stairwell that are loose. Trip hazard with luggage but you get used to it. Tiles inside the apartment are loose but hidden under a carpet. The kitchen refrigerator is masked by a cabinet that has a broken door. The door handle inside the apartment falls off. There are stairs inside the apartment beyond the photos posted. Small amount of stair when you open the door and small amount of stairs to walk up into the kitchen. The host sent a rude woman to deliver the key. The key girl said renting a car in Rome isn’t a good idea. There was zero assistance finding parking. If you choose to stay here safe parking is about a 30 minute walking Distance. Zero amenities provided beyond the bare things expected:towels, and beds.
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional - Margherita was absolutely lovely and made the stay excellent, once she checked us in we were left to our devices and had everything we needed. The views were impeccable, the terrace was so cool! We had only a few nights but it was absolutely perfect. Nothing- it was perfect!
- Darshini (7/5): Rustic charm in the heart of Rome - Excellent location - cafes, bars and attractions within walking distance. Loved the apartment’s rustic charm. The private rooftop terrace was a nice touch as we experienced great weather throughout our stay. Our host was very responsive and helpful. Bathroom was a bit tight, especially shower area. Both bathroom & kitchen could be modernised a little for added comfort. Terrace also means top floor so if you have lots of luggage, this is probably not the place for you.
- Cristian (10/5): Exceptional - Good position. You can walk to any attraction
- Andrei (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): Superb - old building with lots of charecter
- Gabrielle (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (5/5): Too tired to look for somewhere else. It was basic. - The location was within easy walking distance for a fit person, of most things you would like to see in only a week in Rome without the need to catch public transport. The beds were comfortable to sleep in, if you could get to sleep. The wifi is good. As stated 62 steps outside the apartment and 9 inside to get to the living quarter so don't book if you have a bad back, bad knee, bad anything.... Another 4 up to the kitchen area. The kitchen has a fridge oven tiny w/Machine and gas stove top and a sink. There are no other electrical appliances. The old work surface is covered in a plastic cloth. There is adequate cutlery and crockery pots and pans but little in the way of cooking utensils to produce a meal. The lounge/dining area has a table that will seat 4. There is one couch which fits 3 x less than 70kg persons, to watch the TV. This is also the fold out bed. There are no other comfortable lounge chairs. Walking into the next room is where the single bed and a desk is. It is also the room off which the bathroom is located. It is also the room through which you have to walk to get to the double bedroom. The bathroom is tiny, with the toilet recess measuring 65cm across. The Bidet is about 3m from the toilet around the corner. The shower head performance is not overwhelming.Because the water is very soft in Rome, the shower head could do with cleaning out every few months. I notice from other reviews the owner said it is fairly new, but it is not functioning at its best. The floor in the apartment is a beautiful wooden parquetry that is not maintained. The tiles freely come up from the - in places- uneven floor and can stick to your feet. The most uneven part has a rug thrown over the top of it. The worst part is really the noise, and that is because the restaurant on the ground floor opens up early to restock and tidy from the night before, and they serve food til quite late as you would expect. You will get a good sleep between midnight and 3:30am perhaps, the windows are definitely not double glazed. Noise travels up from the street. One kitchen bin, recycle into 5 categories needs some sort of stacker bins.
- Sheila (7/5): Lovely flat - horrid sofabed - The location is excellent, the apartment is spacious and the roof terrace beautiful. We found the kitchen to be well stocked and the bedrooms comfortable and spacious. The four flights of stairs are hard at the end of a day off walking, but we knew about them when we booked, so we can't complain. The shower head needs sorting as only three holes that aren't blocked, which leads to an intense massage.
The main complaint is the sofa bed. It is the most bizarre design in that it folds out with the padding underneath, so you are lying on the metal structure with metal bars running across your back and hips. I am quite short, so I slept at 90° with the foot stool at the end to put my feet on. It would be impossible to sleep normally, and if two people wanted to sleep on this, they would not be able to do so.
Looking back at the reviews. I see that this has been brought up numerous times.
- Tia (8/5): Very good - We loved the location of the apartment and the balcony and kitchen were great to have for the very reasonable price. Nothing really. The owners communicated well with any issues we had. We really had a great stay.
- Gareth (8/5): We had a fabulous time in Rome! - The apartment was wonderful, and in a great location. We really enjoyed the terrace. Nothing really, but the stairs up to the apartment were a bit tiring after a days walking around!
- Rickladd60 (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great. Patio is awesome. Small clothes washer is great. Great to have a kitchen. If you are tall or large the apartment is difficult to navigate. Bathroom is in corridors, door into balcony is short with one large step that makes it tricky to move through. There is a concrete low beam in middle of bathroom and is easy to bang your head. Kitchen cutlery needs a clean up and review. It's so haphazard. Some of the furniture is for show but non functional (eg doors not secure). The apartment has no elevator so it's 4 1/2 flights of stairs up. There were 3 of us travelling doing our own thing and they would only give us one key. But it's a funky place. But as a 6ft4 man, in 60s, I wouldn't stay here again.
- Fran (8/5): Apartment in Great location - Location is perfect to get around Rome by foot. Nice part of Rome, with good restaurants and cafes. The apartment is large for a family of 4. Very authentic decor gives you a taste of Roman way of living. The main pillows were bulky and hard. We had to use the decorator pillow as our main pillow. The bathroom had no shampoo or conditioner, and the floor was dirty.
- Georgeta (9/5): good value for money - the apartment was cozy and confortable
we stayed during february and heating was good
we had an excellent communication with the host
very good location
kitchen was well equipped (does not have a coffee machine but for us this was not a problem)
the furniture a bit old but this was not an inconvenient
bathroom and kitchen were very clean but due to the amount of furniture some places were a bit dusty
the terrace was very nice
- Konstantinos (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional place. Very cozy and sophisticated. Excellent book collection.
