Salvatore súper atento a todo, y a nosotras nos espero su hija que incluso nos dio indicaciones de qué metros podíamos tomar y que la zona era linda.

We arrived early but could drop our bags off at the apartment and could leave our bags there after check out for a couple of hours before our flight. Qe liked that the 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds - not many other apartments seem to have this. Location was good - quiet but walking distance to the key sites of rome. We didn't do much cooking/eating at the apartment but the kitchen equipment seemed to be good. The key for the outer door was a bit stiff. Shower was on the small side. Was a bit worried about payment in cash and having to carry this much cash with us. However, these are minor points and overall we were really pleased with this apartment.

• Patricio (10/5): Un muy buen lugar para quedarse en Roma - El departamento muy bien equipado, la cocina con lo necesario para cocinar. En general, todo muy bien pensado para las necesidades de los huéspedes. El anfitrión muy atento a las necesidades que puedan tener los huéspedes, no sólo respecto al departamento, sino también respecto a la visita a la ciudad. Y responde rápido en caso de algún problema. Departamento silencioso, luminoso de día y oscuro de noche gracias a sus persianas de madera. Bien climatizado y con buena ubicación. Mobiliario sencillo pero adecuado. La forma de pago es un poco confusa en el anuncio. No supe como usar la ducha de hidromasaje y tampoco como cambiar el rollo de papel higiénico.
• CARLOS ROBERTO (8/5): - Apto duplo bem equipado, inclusive com lavadora de roupa. Muito próximo à Basilica Sta. Maria Majore, e não muito longe do Coliseu. NÃO TEM TV. Banheiro minúsculo e UM SÓ PARA 4 pessoas. Escadas para se chegar com malas no apto térreo! Uma ressalva: inicialmente fomos colocados em um outro apto do mesmo proprietário, no mesmo bairro, ótimo, mas cujo preço deve ser bem mais elevado.

Your host is kind, providing you with all information one would need so you are very well set! Close to many attractions within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

• Michele (10/5): Great location, beautiful and comfortable with lots of great recommendations! - Our stay at the Avalon was perfect. This was our first stop on our 13 day visit to Italy. Salvatore was very good at communicating and getting us everything we needed before our trip. Once arriving at the residence, he gave us a great map and explained the best way to get to the Vatican, Pantheon, and all the top attractions. Convenient to the metro, the tram and an easy walk to cafes, bars and restaurants. The residence was a perfect size for our family of five. We would recommend staying at The Avalon and having Salvatore as your host!

It is also conveniently located near the metro which can take you to all the must see stops in Rome (the colosseum is within walking distance). We would stay again if we have the opportunity to return to Rome.

• Patrick (4/5): Good location, helpful owners but very noisy, with old & rusty bathroom and not fully equipped - - We really liked the family that is renting the apartment. Salvatore and his wife were very nice. - Check in was easy and he gave us alot of tips. - Also check out was very easy. - During the stay and before salvatore was very helpful. - I rate him and the way he handles things with a 10. - Also the location of the apartment was very good. Near termini by foot. Also very central and near the colloseum. - We liked cafe molino near the apartment, good breakfast and food in general (can recommend) - We always take apartments for our vacations around the world, so we have a lot of experience - The apartment itself was not that appealing to us. The pictures look way better than the apartment itself. The owners made sure to have professional pictures taken, so you dont see it here, Thats why I added fotos. - The walls need a paintjob and are dirty in the living room. - The bathroom is verrrry old, there is even rust and dirty patches in the shower. Also the shower is very small and some of the spray spots are yellow and old. - We couldnt sleep well for a lot of nights, as the noise from the AC units were sooo loud (outside in the courtyard area of the building are a lot of outdoor units - we never activated ours in the apartment) - On top of that noise during the night, there were contstruction work being done with very loud noise in the morning (this is bad luck we know, but the AC unit noise is permanent). We had to use ear plugs to even consider sleeping. - The windows are thin as paper and dont keep noise outside. So you hear everything that is going on outside with everything closed. Voices in the hallway are also clear to hear inside the flat. Nothing is really insulated. So noise was a big thing. - The blankets are also very old and could need an update - We also have not checked explicitly if there is a microwave, a dish washer and a TV before our booking. We thought that would be normal to have. The apartment did not say that they have those things. We have to look better in the future - but I recommend to the owner to improve this for future guests. - There is very little natural light, as all windows are courtyard sided - So why not zero? My rating is only for the very, very nice family and the very, very good location. We didnt raise any of this to the owner, as we knew, nothing could be done within our week of stay. So we made the best out of it. Rome was beautiful.

Very good for a break in Rome. - Had everything we needed for a four night stay: no need to buy soap, toilet paper, washing up liquid etc just for a few days, as you need to with some places. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they were very friendly and helpful. A/C was soooo good (three units, in main room and each bedroom) - we went in August so this was a godsend. Location good, obviously dependant on where you want to be! Bit quieter than some parts but walking distance to all the major sites and very close to station, shops, ATM, supermarket and cafes/restaurants/bakeries. Small park for children nearby. Would be nice to have more natural light and a view - apartment is on the 1st(ground) floor and all windows go into light wells. Conversely, this works well for high summer as it stays nice and cool, even when the AC is not on. Steps to the apartment so not suitable for those with mobility problems.

• Julien (10/5): A great place to discover Rome - The location is perfect to discover Rome by feet. There are plenty of trattorias, stores and caffes nearby. The neighbourhood is vivid but the street in which the apartment is located is really calm. As the apartment is on the ground/first floor in an inside yard, it is not to hot in the summer. We didn't even have to turn on the AC. Salvatore is a great host, friendly and willing to help with everything. He speaks fluently English.
• Bronwen (10/5): Small but perfectly formed apartment - Small but perfectly formed with everything you need as a base to explore the city. 10 minutes from the coliseum, 5 minutes from the metro and places to eat nearby. Ideal for us. No balcony but we knew that before we arrived.

The apartment were we had moved to was super cozy and very nice, had everything we needed for the time we stayed and Salvatore was an excellent host, helping us with some suggestions for the trip and to stay safe and alert for the pickpockets!! all good

The check-in process was easy and secure, and Salvatore accommodated our group by allowing us to check in and out ahead of schedule. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, and it is in a fabulous location near Roma Termini and countless sites. I recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Rome! Nothing! Everything was perfect.

• B (10/5): Ideally located property, would stay again. Very attentive host. - The apartment was spacious, clean & well located for our needs. It's ideal for a short stay (a week or less). We were 3 adults. On occasion, there was a smell of sewage from the courtyard so we kept the windows/shutters closed at these times so no fresh air was coming into the apartment & it made the apartment dark. Presumably an ongoing problem. It wasn't bad enough to stop me staying there again though.

The apartment was quiet, only a little noise due to pre-celebrations of the new year outside. Communications we very good, check in process was easy and informative. Walking distance to most of the sites. If I had to come up with something to improve, I'd ask for a new cutting board.

It's close to the train station, the metro, many restaurants, and historical sites. We walked everywhere from the apartment. On top of the perfect family apartment, the staff was amazing and communicated very well. From the time we booked until after we left, Salvatore was there to answer any questions we had. When we go back to roam, we will be staying there again!

• Eran (10/5): A wonderful choice for a family or couple looking for a comfortable and convenient "home" in Rome - We had a fantastic stay at this apartment - we can't say enough great things about it! It was super clean. The two bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with cozy beds and plenty of bright lighting. The kitchen had everything we needed and the entrance room (also very well lit) was perfect, with a table for working or dining, as well as a comfy sofa to unwind on. It is also located on a small street which is quiet, yet only a few minutes from the metro and 10 minutes from the train station. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby. The street it’s on, and the apartment itself feel safe and secure. And as a bonus, the Italian restaurant down the street (La Forchetta d'Oro) which is just 20 meters away is a lovely option for dinner. The host, Salvatore, was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. He met us at the apartment, provided us with some excellent recommendations for things to do, see, and eat in Rome, which really enhanced our experience. He was also great before and during our visit communicating via WhatsApp. All in all, we highly recommend this apartment - it's an wonderful choice for a family or couple looking for a comfortable and convenient home away from home.

The apartment was warm and cosy, great location 10 - 15 minute walk from Roma termini. Walking distance to the Colosseum and surrounding ancient ruin sites. The metro station was close for Trevi fountain, Pantheon and Vatican. Only one minor complaint, no microwave oven. This would have been handy.

Salvatore and Katherine were excellent hosts with lots of personal service and advice. A little tip: On the same street is a cute Trattoria (La Forchetta), where we had a lovely late dinner with quick service, good food and free dessert.
