Guest Reviews
- Llopis (10/5): - Le logement est à proximité de tous les lieux touristiques et la clim est un plus avec les deux salles de bain! Elisabeth qui nous a accueilli a été très agréable.
- Frederik (2/5): -
- Katalin (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, professional staff, excellent communication.
- Greg (7/5): Great location and facility, but cleaning needs work - The location was wonderful, as was the terrace and the amount of room. We were waiting a while to be let in, even though we were messaging with the host and told they would be there. The stairs to the apartment were small, spiral & steep, but historically quaint. We noted to the host that some essentials were missing, such as pillow cases and dish drying towels, but this wasn't rectified during our stay. The room was not properly cleaned before our arrival - kitchen counters were not clean, and one of the toilets hadn't been flushed, with waste still in it.
- Sullivan (3/5): Poor - I liked the location of the apartment There was no iron only an ironing board.
1 of the showers was broken.
The apartment flooded from upstairs down onto 1 of the beds making it unusable and also through the window in kitchen.
We were brought 4 spare towels when the flood happened, no bed sheets.
- Nikola (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (7/5): Great location and property in general but air con disappointing - Great location. Clean. Lots of space. Well equipped with everything we needed. Air con was ineffective in the master bedroom and living room.
- Nicholas (9/5): Amazing - we never stay in the same place twice but we are considering coming back. - Location superb, space superb, just a great stay. The refuse disposal was not easy.
- Michelle (8/5): Good for families with older kids because parents can stay on one side, kids on the other. - Quiet and a good amount of private space, 2 bathrooms, 2 queen bed and a pull out sofa. Good AC and hot water. Extra upstairs area with terrace would have been nice except Rome was SO hot during our stay. We loved walking to the restaurants set up along the Tiber river. Was met by a helpful staff member who showed us around the entire unit and made sure everything worked. Tiny spiral staircase to get up to the apartment.
- Joe (7/5): Good - It was a stellar location! Nowhere on listing advertised steep winding stairs!! Very misleading and needs to be added as a picture.
- Anonymous (5/5): Average place in good location - Great location and the person we meet to get access was very helpful and carried our suitcase up the very steep staircase. Kitchen dishes not clean. Dishwasher dirty and smelt. The temperature in the shower was very temperamental. Either very hot or really cold. Taps leaking in bathroom. Could only use one shower, the other shower sprayed straight out towards the floor. Would not recommend for families with young children or elderly. The staircase to access is up three levels and incredibly narrow and steep. Dangerous if needing to carry luggage.
- Sukhy (2/5): Dirty - The property was so close to the Pantheon and other sights I don't like writing bad reviews, but I feel I have to. We were made aware of the 4 flights of stairs, but we were not made aware that they were spiral and very narrow. The property pictures on booking are deceiving. The rooms aren't as long/large, and the apartment was filthy. We collected the keys early and saw the cleaner, but nothing seemed to have been done. There were smears of something on the wall, layers of dust on items, stains on the duvet which have no covers, and for a non-smoking apartment, it smelt of stale cigarettes, which gave us all a headache. The shower and bathrooms were poor, we tried to have a shower one at a time due to reading past reviews, but the water still ran hit and cold throughout. We complained about this and the lack of heating at night, but nothing. We were told to put the thermostat on, which did nothing. We later read reviews, stating there is no heating in April! The light in the bathroom, electrical, and other fittings all need attention as they were hanging off or just missing (one if he bedrooms had not ceiling light), the bathroom door handle almost came off in our hands as the fittings were missing at the bottom, on both sides. Lastly, we couldn't find the iron, so I whatsapped the person of contact, but I had no response and was not impressed.
We were lucky, as we were out all day and just slept at the apartment. A longer stay would've been a nightmare.
- Ellie (7/5): Wonderful budget stay for families with enough perks to make for a lovely stay. - Our host met us and showed us around. He was quick to respond to questions about the apartment. We had an issue that was fairly quickly resolved (hot water heater had to be reset). Neighborhood was TERRIFIC! Lots of great restaurants, cafes, shopping, 10 min walk to Capitoline Museum/Victor Emmanuel. Quicker walk to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc.
2 hairdryers, 1 iron and ironing board. Nespresso and stove top espresso machine. Washing machine was great to have when traveling with kids. We were able to pack really light knowing we could ash clothes. We cooked a few times and had everything we needed to prepare a few simple meals and morning coffees. There is a small supermarket just across the street. The terrace was fantastic.
Our family loved all the eccentricities - the 60 winding stairs to the front door. The ladder stairs to the upstairs terrace , etc. If you are less mobile or have large luggage with stairs will be a challenge. They were good prep for climbing the dome at St. Peter's ;)
The neighbor below us let us know that the living room ceiling is really low in her apartment, so that even regular walking sounds very loud. After some broom handle banging on the ceiling, we bought her some flowers, left them at her door with our apologies (we have 3 kids, hard to keep us quiet ;) and she was waiting for us the next time we came upstairs with smiles and hugs for all. Must be hard to live below a rental. I think it'd be a lovely tradition of she received flowers from future renters! There were lots of radiators, but we didn't realize the government controls them (no using them 11pm-5am and only certain dates of the year). So we weren't able to use them during our stay which had some cold days. Especially doing laundry on rainy days. There was no way to dry our towels as bathroom radiators wouldn't turn on, so we had to hang our towels out on the terrace as soon as a sunny day arrived to dry them out.
It would be nice to have a drying rack. (There is a hanging rack in the blue bathroom for towels, but a foldable rack for the washing machine would be helpful.)
Blue bathroom needs a deep cleaning (mold and smelled of urine), but it was lovely to have a tub.
A few extra pillowcases and an extra blanket or two and additional trash bags would be helpful.
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location. Nice terrace. Very good mattress. Very steep and inconvenient stairs. Walking with a suitcase is difficult and dangerous. In one shower there was no hot water, in the second there was a torn hose on the shower. It was impossible to take a normal shower
- João (6/5): Good location, but... - Good location The service provided by the employee before and during check-in was poor, the stairs to the apartment are really difficult, not recommended for older people or people with physical difficulties. A "terrace" with difficult access, without views
- Altieri (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): Highly recommended!! - Great space and location! This wasn’t a dislike, but the steps to get to the unit may have been an issue if we were older/less mobile.
- Fiona (7/5): One for the young and fit but great location - Great location. Decent WiFi . The stairs! Nothing more than hand luggage gets upstairs. Unless you are fit and with no mobility issues or if issue with narrow spaces don't stay. The stairs are steep narrow and spiral. Very tight and very high. Stone made and dark with poor hand rails
- Anne (7/5): Great location in the heart of Rome. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. - The location of the apartment was excellent. Lots of interesting restaurants and bars close by. Close to Campo di Fiore and in the heart of the Jewish Quarter. The terrace needs some attention. We could not use it during the day as there was no umbrella for shade. It was not very welcoming as the plants were dead and the outdoor furniture was very old
- Karenireland (10/5): Rome adventure - The place was so close to everything and so quiet. The stair up to it
- Mariella (9/5): Perfect location for sightseeing, we loved the place. - The location is fantastic. We walked to all the main sites except the Vatican. It is in a quiet street but just a few minutes away from mini market, bus stops, coffee shops. The place is very sweet and we had 2 separate bedrooms, each with its own shower. Very sweet living room/dining room. The stairs are not for the faint of heart or for people with mobility problems. I would not recommend taking a heavy/big luggage! One of the bathrooms always had a bad smell to it and the terrace was not a pretty or clean as it looked on the photos.
- Wayne (7/5): Great location - Location was great and the apartment was fine. Really steep, skinny, winding stairs to get up to the apartment, which was tough to climb to the 4th floor when trying to carry luggage. I'm pretty fit and strong, so I imagine this could be a real problem for some. Didn't utilise the rooftop terrace which was a shame, as it's not really practical to use. You have to access it via one of the bedrooms and then climb steep ladder style steps.
- Amanda (3/5): Uncomfortable - the location was fabulous and nice to have an outside area There was some cleanliness (mould in the shower) and facility issues, but it was mostly fine. The poor experience was due to the neighbour.
We realise that this is out of control of the booking agent, but anyone staying here needs to be aware of how unpleasant the downstairs neighbour makes the stay.
On check in, we were warned to keep the noise down, as the downstairs neighbour complains. Fair enough, it’s an apartment, so we were happy to comply. No parties, no screaming kids. Normal stuff.
But, we had only been there a few hours when one of our kids came down the stairs.
We then had loud banging from below, then, from the outside hallway a tirade of abuse from the neighbour.
It turns out, it’s not noise you have to avoid, it’s walking inside. This happened each day, on multiple occasions. The aggression from the neighbour was so bad, that the kids felt threatened and afraid to be in the apartment.
We spent what little time we could manage there, walking on tiptoes and very tense that the yelling would start again.
Again, we know this is not the fault of the booking agency, but you must be aware of how extreme the angry neighbour is. This property is NOT suitable for families.
- Michael (9/5): Great central location - the location was great. literally 5-15 mins from
all Rome has to offer. The apartment is well equipped too, and made a great base for our family excursions. The steps can be tricky. For us it was Ok (young family with 2, 8 & 10 year old) but could envisage somebody less able bodied finding them difficult.
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Location was excellent, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars and some of the major sights.
Bonus was the roof terrace which is amazing. Nothing.
- Barbara (7/5): Good -
- Ioanna (3/5): Poor - It was dirty in various places including all the walls, , there are dirty pillows, chipped toilet, a bucket of potentially overflowing water from the A/C, the WiFi information was wrong, the terrace is dirty, all the the stairs inside and out of the apartment are very dangerous and one my traveling companions has been operated on and the other has knee problems. The stairs are spiral and old. The pictures make the apartment look bigger and newer although it isn't. The wifi info is wrong. There was no information in the booklet about the heating or any instructions about the hot water. Paco your greeter, told us to check in and that you would give us a solution in order to move and we never heard from anyone.
- Anonymous (5/5): ok, but overpriced - it’s on a really good position we didn’t have heating on, no hot water. we were also warned about the neighbor that can complain. toilet seats are old and lost color on places. cold floors. no kitchen towels to wipe the table or whatever…
- Ana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Johanna (9/5): Superb -
- Joann (4/5): Disappointing -
- Adam (7/5): Large apartment in a great location for sight seeing. - Great location. Spacious apartment. The apartment could have been cleaner. When running both showers at the same time one or both will run cold.
- Tim (6/5): Great little apartment in central location up windy narrow stairs - Location great between Piazza Venezia and Largo Argentino. Apartment was still being cleaned at 5pm - an hour after we arrived.
Narrow spiral staircase up to 4th floor
Floor uneven and missing in places
- Marilyn (7/5): Good -
