Guest Reviews
- Marie (10/5): Autentiske florentinske vibes.
- Carlo (8/5): -
- Jorgelina Ines (9/5): Hermosa ubicación - El lugar imperdible Las escaleras
- Fanning (10/5): - - The view was amazing, better than the photos
-The location is perfect, right in the center of all major attractions
-The cozy feel of the apartment
-The staff, especially Martina, were super responsive, nice, and helpful
-The price was quite affordable compared to similar apartments -The stairs, it is on the third floor, but that is the price you pay for an amazing view
- Caryn (7/5): Great location/view and good value. Locks/key system is inconvenient for >2 people. - Location was very close to the Duomo square. Good view of the Dome itself. Had all of the essentials. Clear entering instructions. People nearby were very loud until 2am every night, even middle of the week. Could have been a fluke of when we were there. The apartment is on the top floor and there is a locked gate before the locked door to the apartment. You have to use the keys to exit as well as enter, meaning when 2 of us left, the other 2 were locked inside. So, kind of dangerous, but that is also partly due to the nature of the locks in these old buildings. The pillows are also very thin.
- Mihaela Silvia (9/5): A home in the heart of Florence - The location was superb. The view of the Dome roof from the balcony was fantastic. The only inconvenience was a problem with electricity, which the owner solved in two days. It is an old building right in the heart of Florence so such events are to be expected. Also, one has to tolerate the noise of unruly tourists late at night but this is the price one has to pay for such location.
- Peder (9/5): - Perfekt lägenhet i centrala Florens.
- Hanne (10/5): -
- Mindzakova (9/5): - Extraordinary view, great location (around the corner from the Dome) and best host Martina. Martina was very flexible, helpful, caring, happy to offer advice. Beds were comfy and most of the windows face to a quiet street, except one bedroom. As mentioned in former reviews - furniture is a bit outdated and sofa would definitely need refresh (although my sons loved it).
- Clotac (7/5): - Très bien situé
Salle de bain bien
Bonne literie
- Clare (9/5): -
- Nicki (4/5): Has the potential to be a nice place but needs maintenance, new furniture and new electrics - I've had to think hard about how to review this place as my initial thoughts when we first got into it were very negative. This may have been because we had just come from a very nice hotel in Venice, so the contrast was stark.
The best things about this apartment:
1. The location, which couldn't have been better.
2. The views of the Duomo are stellar.
3. Air conditioning, this was a blessing as Florence was having a heat wave while we were there. It also helped cool you down after walking up the hot stairs.
The apartment has a lovely old charm but would really benefit from new electrics and updating of the furniture. Negatives:
1. Stairs. There are 62 stairs to get to the apartment. While the apartment is advertised as being accessed via stairs, no mention is made about the number of stairs until AFTER the apartment was booked, and the property has a strict no refunds policy.
2. Electrics. All of the power points (except for one) were of an older standard and required an adapter to use with modern plugs. No adapters were provided. There was a few power points with all 3 sockets in use and there was additional wiring coming out of the side to other devices. Some power points didn't work at all, like the one for TV. So the TV wasn't unusable. The kitchen only had one accessible power point, which was also the only modern power point which a travel adapter would fit. So if you wanted to charge your phones, cameras etc, you had to unplug the fridge to use the power point. There are no overhead lights but there are light switches on the walls which don't seem to do anything.
3. Cleanliness. While the sheets and towels were washed and clean, the other bedding was old and musty and hadn't been washed in a long while. The floor and rugs hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned recently.
4. Furniture. The single two seater couch was from the 1980's and that was obviously the last time it was cleaned. It was a very uncomfortable couch and kept sliding apart. The only other 'comfortable chair' was a single seater which was also very uncomfortable. Beds were OK, but needed more pillows. More towels would also have been good.
5. Basic consumables. The only basic consumables provided for a 4 day stay was 3 toilet rolls and two tiny bottles of body wash. There was no tea or coffee, instant milk, sugar, dishwashing liquid, hand wash or washing machine soap.
6. Demand to have cash for the city tax, with no receipt.
7. Manager accessing property without us being present to collect said tax. No change for 50 euro note given.
- Patricia (5/5): Not what we had booked so very disappointing - Was given alternative accommodation as our booked accommodation had no hot water. Typical Florentine Apt had 2 bedrooms, 2 balconies. Our alternative accommodation had only one bedroom and no balconies but cost us the same. As we were informed once we arrived in Italy, we had no real chance to cancel and find our own alternative accommodation . The room was clean and comfortable but it was very inconvenient having to also use living room as bedroom. Very disappointed If we had got the accommodation that we had booked and chosen with care to meet our needs
- Adam (10/5): Very central in Florence old town, close to everything, great size apartment - No breakfast included. The apartment had everything that you needed and had a nice balcony
- Maureen (7/5): Good - Amazing location and beautiful balcony with incredible views. Spacious and comfortable. Bathroom features and air conditioner function well. Broken bed. Had to call multiple times for toiletries and basic amenities, as well as broken washing machine. Host hounded us for city tax throughout our entire stay in Florence, calling and texting incessantly, despite agreeing at beginning of stay that it would be left on table. French press and percolator provided but no coffee.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Location in the heart of Florence old town Quite old utensils and no functioning coffee maker (tried two which did not work)
- Julia (3/5): Poor -
- Nino (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Great location and helpful staff - Location. Helpful staff Shower head needs to be replaced. Hot water; switch to hot water tank/boiler needs to be identified so it is turned on.
- Brendan (5/5): we loved the location and put up with the shortcomings - location, balcony , spacious bedrooms, stairs were steep to the third floor , tv not working, couldn’t close bathroom door, crockery was old and chipped, toilet refill was noisy.
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb - Shower didn’t work great.
Also wasn’t sure which apartment it was on the third floor!
- Francesco (9/5): very comfortable in an amazing location - amazing location in the middle of history
2 big bedrooms with plenty of space
full of historical fashion
very quiet and silent place despite you are in the middle of the old city some minor refurbishment needed (I.e. bathroom door)
it is at 3rd floor without elevator. really not an issue for me but should be taken in consideration if heavy luggage
- Ricci (8/5): Very good - Location Not so clean
- Deanna (6/5): Amazing location, beautiful view! Check-in nightmare… - Amazing view of Duomo and bell tower. Two balconies with outdoor furniture. We sat out there every evening with wine and snacks (some of my favorite memories from our trip).
My mom said the master bedroom is quiet, and that it was her comfiest bed of the trip (out of 5). Check in nightmare: We arrived at the property a bit before 6pm and followed the host’s instructions for entering the building. When we opened the lockbox to retrieve the keys, it was empty. We immediately messaged the property about the situation to which they finally responded a half hour later: “Sorry. The cleaning staff forgot to put the key inside. They are coming.” They kept telling us that the person with the key was on his way and that it would be “Just a few minutes.” We sat on the floor of the building’s entry way and waited, frustrated and hungry, for two hours before the man finally arrived, around 8:15pm. If the host had been honest with us about how long it would take, one of us could have gone out to get food.
Needs: Some updated furnishings, dish towels, real supply of toilet paper (we had to buy our own after a few days), kitchen utensils (knives and a pair of scissors in particular). Needs better sound/weatherproofing for the window in the second bedroom; Via del Corso is loud at ALL hours of the day and night, and I could still hear some of it through my earplugs.
