Davide is the owner.and is amazing, he helps with any issues, will give you lots of advice and I believe he really wants you to enjoy your trip. Really lovely man.. The apartment was very clean, lots of room for a family of four, but it can sleep up to 7 people with the lounge couch in the master bedroom along with the pullout sofa in the living room area. The apartment was very inviting, and Davide, our host was exceptional! He made us a very nice bottle of white wine to enjoy! This was our 2nd visit to Venice! When we return we will definitely book this apartment again! The location was also perfect! Clean wooden floors much better than some older hotels with carpet. Very clean. Kitchen had all essentials, plus coffee and great espresso machine and host left us a bottle of organic wine. Beds for 7 people--1 room with matrimoniale, 1 room with matrimoniale and twin, sofa bed in living room. Be sure to ask for linens for the sofa bed if needed-we just had 5 people but my teen son preferred his own sleeping space. Using shutters you have a complete blackout-curtain experience for great rest--can leave them open if you want to wake with the sunshine--large windows in every room. Air-conditioning WAS SO EXCELLENT! Great to have a cool space to recharge midday that was still very close to everything. Location is perfect--Castello neighborhood, authentic-feel for Venezia, but short walk to San Marco or shopping along Strada Nove. Near Ospedale and Fondamente Nove Vaporetto stops. Host was very helpful. WhatsApp best way to communicate once in Venice. It was initially hard to find. We arrived at 11pm and I was worried about arriving later, otherwise the host would have happily met us nearby at a vaporetto stop or landmark Piazza. I have been to Venice about 20 times so I thought I could figure it out with the info I had, but that was hubris. I would not recommend using the Booking.com app's link to the location, because it actually sends you to a travel agent nearby. The numbers on Venetian addresses are in no way linear. If you plan to get their yourself, be sure to get WhatsApp contact with the host, and have him send you his hand-drawn map and the picture of the actual door. Once we knew how to find it, the location is great! Off the beaten path but very close to vaporetto and Hospital. Only other critique is that it would be nice to have a trash bin in the bathroom (women need such things, even just for hairballs).Seriously my only suggestion for improvement for inside of apartment. Also, it is up one flight if steps, which would not work if we were traveling with my elderly father who uses a walker...

The neighbourhood is incredible in that it is both vibrant and quiet. There are lovely restaurants and bakeries close by, at the same time you are away from the crowds of Piazza San Marco. Davide, the amazing host, has excellent recommendations for restaurants and travel, and is kind and attentive. We had an amazing stay and I have already recommended Davide's beautiful home to family and friends as The place to stay in Venice. I'm sad we had to leave, and look forward to returning some day.
