- Gaynor (7/5): Nice place, good location, could be cleaner - Was a great apt to stay in, good amenities such as laundry and decent amp to use. My fav was having a chemex and coffee filters provided. Was a great stay in a really good location. There was a weird garlic smell throughout the apt, and yes you do get a bit of the charred meat smell from downstairs but only around 8pm and it goes away. My only real issue as the place wasn’t properly cleaned. The microwave was disgusting, and I had to clean the cutlery and wipe down the surfaces as they had grease on them, I think from the person before. The host was very slow to reply to any messages so I gave up waiting for a reply.
- Adina (7/5): Nice studio but noisy - Excellent location, in the middle of one of the nicest neighbourhoods of Tokyo. The studio was spacious and tastefully decorated and the bed was very large and very comfortable. The main problem for me was that it was quite noisy at night; the flat is on top of a meat restaurant so it's quite smelly and noisy until midnight when the customers leave. After that, however, the staff start cleaning and thowing away bottles etc. And around 4.30 a.m. in the summer, the light comes in through the bathroom sky light and the glass door.
I stayed for 2 weeks and really wanted a place that felt homely rather than a hotel but unfortunately I had trouble sleeping for the entire time. I also found that the balcony, which was one of the main reasons for choosing this rather expensive place, wasn't really usable. It's not covered so there is no shade and it's overlooked; I only really used for drying clothes since the other options were unsatisfactory. I also wish there was a wardrobe where I could hang more clothes. it was difficult to find the property since the pictures I was sent for guidance were old and things had changed in the meantime.
- Christopher (9/5): Third floor studio with restrained design aesthetic in very nice, walkable safe neighborhood. - The location was ideal for experiencing more of a neighborhood, being close to transit, restaurants and amenities and near enough to Imperial Palace and other highlights in Tokyo. We loved having a seating area near the large window. Just the right amount of kitchen amenities for our left overs and quick breakfasts. Host explained in printed material how to deal with restaurant smells from the properties below as well as essentials for controlling temperature etc. Unit was nicely (and simply) furnished. Bathroom and all areas clean. We were very comfortable.
Would book again if wanting to be in the area which was very nice.
Thank you Stairs fine except we had large luggage which of course is unwieldy wherever you go. A bit uncomfortable coming down the stairs with heavy objects as no handrail for first 2-3 steps. Without luggage, no problem. Other than that we were pleased with the unit.
- Tania (10/5): Exceptional - We spent a week here and and felt right at home - it was perfect for a couple. The most comfortable bed and loved the design details. Really great location in Kagurazaka close to the station and any essential shops you need, as well as loads of great restaurants! Great communication with the host too.
